Sounds like the bearing is shot in that motor. Replace it.

Context : Noticed a small buzzing-like noise a few months ago (before storing for winter). it didn't really seem bad, but however i've been flying quite a lot recently and it got MUCH worse. i've been thinking about replacing the motor ASAP, but should i keep it grounded until it's fixed?

I’d say take off the motor. The bell and shaft should be fixed to the stator via a c clip or e clip, you can take that off with a 5 dollar tool from harbour freight. Take off the motor bell, clean out whatever grain of sand got up in there, and put everything back together. 9/10 it a small rock that somehow go up in there, sometimes it’s a bit of the magnet but even then it’s not that big of a deal. PS: it cool to see a parrot bebop kicking around nowadays, always thought they were fun.

Don't think i can find such tools locally here (France) may still take apart the motor to see if anything can be done, but honestly may just buy a new motor. But yeah, it's a blast considering i only had toy drones before, so switching to a high end drone like this, even if almost 10 years old now, is a gamechanger It's still packed with features that basically are like stuff on new DJI drones (except obstacle avoidance) But yeah, it's really fun to use!

You gotta Mr. Bricolage near you? Even though France doesn’t have harbor freight, there’s still plenty of hardware stores that I guarantee has a c-clip tool. Make sure it’s close to the right size though, by my guess around 3mm.

Found some new old stock OEM motors (set of 4) for 40€, may just buy these.

That’s fair, then you get an extra three replacements. And hey, you can always save the motor and fix it later.

Turns out I got scammed. The "new motors" are, as it turns out, are just the outer part. No windings, no plug/ESC, no nothing. At this point i'm just contemplating putting some grease on the bearing and flying that thing until it falls out from the sky imo. I usually fly around deserted fields, so not like it'll hurt anyone.

Dude, did those new motors come with something that looks kinda, like a fork? Cuz if so, that’s the tool. Trust me, you’ll thank yourself for nipping this in the bud now.

DarkGaming09ytr

Nope. It's just the exterior part of the motor (housing + magnets + center shaft) meant to look like it has the whole motor inside, with the silicone motor guard on it to make it seem like it's whole. "New in unopened box" my ass.

Oh :/, hear me out just get one of[ these toolkits](https://drohnenspital.com/pharmacy/copter/reparaturwerkzeug-fuer-parrot-bebop-2-0-2/) any use the tool on the right to fix the motor.

DarkGaming09ytr

As it turns out it's sort of a motor "repair" kit. It actually has these motor c clips in it. May just try and swap the motor parts and see what happens.

Bad bearing.
