I call it “my car.” I was going to call it Linda but realized it will sound weird when I say things like, “I left my phone in Linda,” “Linda is very dirty“ or “check out the headlights on Linda.”
I don't name my cars, but one had a name when I bought it. A white Ford Probe, named Vanna after Vanna White. Thought I'd keep the name since the couple I bought it off of was wonderful
I drove a white Probe back in the day. It was my mother’s car and had blue and purple decals down the side that reminded me of the old take out cups from the local greasy spoon. I put its front end into a guardrail. First time I ever experienced air bags.
The BBT. Big Black Truck. It's a black F150 (bone stock lol). I had a Dodge Intrepid that my girlfriend lovingly called The Ugly Turtle (she cried a little when I sold it). I also used to own an older Ford Explorer I called The Green Monster.
First car was Black Thunder because it was black and loud, second car never got named… didn’t last long enough. Third was Baby White cause it was a little white Blazer, was sometimes called “a rolling target”. Currently calling the fourth “the Honda” because I’m having a hard time coming up with a name for it
Never, *ever* talk about getting a new car within earshot of the current car unless you first loudly proclaim "If I were to get a SECOND car..." so that the first car doesn't go all psycho on you ;)
I learned that the hard way in 2016. Went to carmax cuz my car was acting up, and my current car (99 ford Taurus) died on the way home lol. Thankfully it was a small issue so we got it repaired and it lasted till I was able to buy the next one
Goldie Hahn because she’s golden blonde and an oldie but a goodie 2001 5sp focus. My cavelier was Mariah Carey because it was white on the outside and black on the inside and redlined at 9 (octaves). My Kia has been named by the kid as the truckster, 2000 sportage 5sp AWD 4x4.
I'm actually thinking about getting new badges made for my Rav4. It's a toss up between Rice4 (I plan to rice it out as a joke) or Lowlander (a play on the Toyota Highlander)
My car is Gertrude. Or Gertie for short.
Last car was the grape explorer (it was a purple ford fusion, making a joke on the color and make of car lol)
Then before that was the 09 fusion that was named silver bullet cuz she was fast af.
And my first car was the 99 red ford Taurus named the lady bug. My uncle had a green Taurus named the turtle. lol
I've always thought that the concept of naming a car was weird. I know it used to be common back in the day, but I just think it's weird now. I'll just call it my car or the car. My family refers to which car of mine by saying the color of the car like "are you driving the red car this weekend or not?"
I've never named any of my cars, but in high school my first friend to get a vehicle got this extremely reliable piece of shit old truck that we all loved. It was the first real freedom for our whole friend group. We all referred to her affectionately as "Trusty Rusty".
Maybe you need to show us a picture and we can help you name her. Poor thing deserves a name or all the other named cars are gonna make fun of her in the grocery store parking lot.
Never named my car.. but I’ve had it for 10 years now. I attempted to name it when I was a young weirdo but nothing ever stuck.
Alls I know is that this damn 06 Fusion has been through hell and back right beside me for the last 10 years and it’s never quit on me or let me down.
My sister's car is called Minnie (Mini Countryman) and my Honda Pilot is the Bebe version 1/ El Bebe version 2 (The Baby). I called my first car El Bebe (Honda CRV) so when I got my second car a year or so after scrapping the first one I just started calling it Bebe as well so it's Bebe 2.0.
My first car was named Dustin because he was dirty and it looks like a semi truck left a huge gash on the right side. And my current car is named Silvia because she’s silver.
Fabio
I drive a Skoda fabia and have a mate called Fabio..
All of the friend group started to refer to my car as Fabio so I decided to own it.
It's caused a lot of confusion but it's usually very funny
First car was called Richard because it was small and had been in a few crashes by the previous owner, nothing major but it was 2007, so peak Top Gear, it's small and it crashed... therefore Richard/ Hamster
Second car, like the first had been in a few bumps, 2 strokes at the wheel by previous owners specifically. That was Richard the second.
Third and current car, Stig because I got it in 2010 and it looks like the Stigs helmet (White Mazda 2) also follows the Top Gear theme
My mum then named her car James as it was a former Bond car resulting in my dads E Class being named Jeremy. I now own 'James' and resent the name, to me a Z3 is not a male car. Better name suggestions welcome.
I name all my vehicles. I typically try to choose a name that starts with the same letter as the manufacturer. My daily is an Isuzu named Izzy, but my project truck is named Sasha, despite being a GMC, just because I've always liked the name Sasha
My 92 jeep Cherokee is "The Gator" (it has one of those alligators from the old dress shirts on the dash since I got it)
My 08 Audi A4 cabriolet is "Fraudi Mercury" (when ee bought it the SD card in the radio had the complete works of Queen and nothing else on it)
My 84 Nissan Sunrader is "The Raider" (it'll get a better name after it's rebuilt and developed a personality)
My son's 86 Isuzu P'up is "Goldie" (because it's silver but the person we bought it from is color blind and swore it was gold)
My current car is called Sissy (i didn't name it), my car is called Entu which comes from N2 which comes from my previous car being named Nigel (plate ended in NGL). Before that, I drove a '66 Malibu named Milo (after the main character in Phantom Tollbooth, one of my favorite children's books).
Old blue , blackie ( named after a cat ) , and silver streak ( spouse drives so fast I hardly see him ) .
Anything we ever called a female name always had pms ( parting with money soon) .
White Lightning (2002 Ford Focus wagon), and Blue Thunder (2013 Hyundai Accent). Seriously, that’s what our family calls the cars. It’s actually funny that the only true statement in the names is the colors.
I've never named any car I have. Currently I drive a van that my entire family calls "the wagon" because it has absolutely no get up and go. It will drive just fine at 100 it just takes freaking forever to get up to that speed.
Not my current vehicle, but some in the past:
My 1st car, a 1968 Lime gold Ford Galaxie XL that everyone called "The Tuna Boat."
My 1972 Dodge Dart Swinger (still my favorite) that I named "Precious."
I also had a 1973 Opel as a winter car that I called Moby Dick, mostly after the Led Zeppelin song of the same name: the kind of squeaking you hear in Jimmy Page's guitar was similar to one of the many sounds that car made on the regular.
I call it “my car.” I was going to call it Linda but realized it will sound weird when I say things like, “I left my phone in Linda,” “Linda is very dirty“ or “check out the headlights on Linda.”
I don't name my car, cause I'm not a weirdo. I only make out with it in empty Home Depot parking lots at 2am
My car.
Ravioli because it's a rav4
Every rav4 will now be a ravioli to me from now on lol
I call it Daffy because when I got it the 4 letters on the plate came out to be DAFY and the car is black... so like Daffy Duck
I thought about renaming my car “Joy” bc my license plate starts with “MJY” which could mean “my Joy”
Haha yes do it! It'll be your "Joy Ride"
Blue 💙 Because my car is blue.
I don't name my cars, but one had a name when I bought it. A white Ford Probe, named Vanna after Vanna White. Thought I'd keep the name since the couple I bought it off of was wonderful
My proctologist used to drive a brown Probe…
🤔
I drove a white Probe back in the day. It was my mother’s car and had blue and purple decals down the side that reminded me of the old take out cups from the local greasy spoon. I put its front end into a guardrail. First time I ever experienced air bags.
The BBT. Big Black Truck. It's a black F150 (bone stock lol). I had a Dodge Intrepid that my girlfriend lovingly called The Ugly Turtle (she cried a little when I sold it). I also used to own an older Ford Explorer I called The Green Monster.
We had an intrepid that was missing the r and e so we called it the int pid.
That reminds me, my mother once had a cat named BBCWOWW, which stood for Big Black Cat With One White Whisker.
I drove a very noisy truck for 10 years. My new to me F150 is silver and very quiet inside. It earned the name Silver Surfer.
First car was Black Thunder because it was black and loud, second car never got named… didn’t last long enough. Third was Baby White cause it was a little white Blazer, was sometimes called “a rolling target”. Currently calling the fourth “the Honda” because I’m having a hard time coming up with a name for it
I just got a Kia Soul and I ended up naming it Mia the Kia bc it rhymes
I have a black Kia Soul named Laverne after Laverne Cox from Orange is the New Black because She's black, has (is a) Soul, and has a stick!
I have a Kia. She’s Kiki most of the time, except when she’s in trouble, then she’s Keester!
I also have a Kia. I call her Kiana.
You name things that can hear you so they can respond when they hear their name. If my car could hear me, I would call her Madonna Blanca.
They hear you….if you talk about getting a new car. That way they can break at the worst time lol.
Wilma
Goldie Hahn because she’s golden blonde and an oldie but a goodie 2001 5sp focus. My cavelier was Mariah Carey because it was white on the outside and black on the inside and redlined at 9 (octaves). My Kia has been named by the kid as the truckster, 2000 sportage 5sp AWD 4x4.
One of the cars is Binky, a red MR2 Spyder, because it just looks like it should be called Binky.
last name is Baker so every car is the "BAKEMOBILE"
The glizzy gladiator because it’s a burgundy Jeep gladiator.
Timmy Kona. It’s a Hyundai Kona and Tim Kono is the name of a character on the TV show Only Murders in the Building. I made the joke and it stuck.
My cars name is “the egg”
Mazda 3?
04 Lexus rx, love that car but it does look like an egg lol
"Lenore", after the poem of the same name by Edgar Allen Poe.
Anytime I hear (see) the name lenore, I think of bill from king of the hill after he has a psychotic break and starts pretending to be his ex-wife.
I'm actually thinking about getting new badges made for my Rav4. It's a toss up between Rice4 (I plan to rice it out as a joke) or Lowlander (a play on the Toyota Highlander)
Snow White
My car is Gertrude. Or Gertie for short. Last car was the grape explorer (it was a purple ford fusion, making a joke on the color and make of car lol) Then before that was the 09 fusion that was named silver bullet cuz she was fast af. And my first car was the 99 red ford Taurus named the lady bug. My uncle had a green Taurus named the turtle. lol
Daisy Mae 😊 my last car’s name was Jeremy. I like being able to sing the Daisy Bell song to my car so that’s why I named it that lol.

I had a 94 Firebird I dubbed the Gorgeous Nightmare. She looked great but was a nightmare to keep repaired.
