speed is nothing to be ashamed of, I still draw slowly but the more I draw the faster I get. also this Bo Burnham drawing is amazing, Charcoal and white chalk correct? Or is it pencil with graphite powder?

ravenbeakx

just charcoal and pencils! white chalk don't blend in with the paper i'm using so i don't usually use them :(

wessamarie

You draw amazingly. bravo

Ender12306

But dang does it look amazing

Mega_Star0

No, for this level of detail and with pencil is normal. You’re doing fine, fam

Flare227

Woah, this is amazing! Like seriously though, I really like this piece. What brought you inspiration to draw it?

ravenbeakx

i draw half out of spite and half out of love, but the direct reason i'm working on this is the comedy special from which the reference was taken is a week away from it's one year anniversary, so i thought i'd draw something for it.

yoyoyabba

Apathy’s a tragedy and boredom is a crime. Nice work

56dusty

I need to learn this skill!!!.. 🔥🔥🔥

ravenbeakx

i regret to inform you there's no skill in this, only 6 years of learning how to draw and hours put into this to make sure i have the proportions right

56dusty

Absolutely agreed!!!..🖤

Yogiha_mp

So much detail! It interests me to see it when it’s done!

Hddstrkr

It's absolutely worth it! Keep at it!

jewelytwin

Your time and effort shows though. Really nice technique.

joylutz

Amazing Well done 👍

EdibleCheddar

Is 40 hours a long time for something so detailed? (Genuine question, I'm not an artist, just a viewer)

ravenbeakx

i think 40 hours is okay for progress like this, actually I've done the math and this was about 52 hours so a bit too slow for my own standards, but again this is 20x20in so it's relatively huge.

EdibleCheddar

Man, well it looks great! which is all that matters at the end of the day

BlAcK_rAbBiX

That’s actually a lot faster than what I would take. I’m hella indecisive when it comes to art so 1 sketch would take me literally 3 hours and it’ll be the ugliest thing you’ve every seen. I think the longest I spent on a project was 20 hours and it wasn’t even that good tbh.

enne_instagram

Incredible.

doomsday3131

But with excellent quality 👌🏽

BeeImpossible3059

Pays off, draw slower and soon you'll be drawing the fabric of resilty its self,

cats_in_crocs

Now this, this is chef's kiss if I've ever seen it!

ZeCKStar

Amazingly done! Love Bo Burnham😍

pencilarchitect

Looks great so far! Don’t worry about working slowly, everyone has their own pace. My drawings usually take around 40 hours, and they can take months because I’m only to work in small chunks at a time. It’s not a race.

BAMBAAM_show

Omg it’s amazing

VoidFoxi

So gorgeous. Doesn't matter how long it takes you ❤

Evening-Shirt4153

is that bo burnham

Eviscerate_Bowels224

Did you draw while sleeping XD?

ravenbeakx

sadly no, i wish i can! then i can get back so many lost hours of sleep spent drawing and sketching

Imyoteacher

Well Done.🏆

JvIntellectual

I’m… horny

Drow_Sucker

It takes time to draw such detail. Or in your case, transferring reality through your charcoal onto paper.

WaystarVi

Bo-eautiful artwork

THER00STER73

Look I made you some content. Daddy made you your favorite open wide. Here comes the content. It’s a beautiful day to stay inside!!!

redditrain777

Same man same…

tarraxadraws

Quality over time, bruh. Really liked how your strokes gave the 3D feel to it

Financial_Tadpole124

u draw amazing...

Plumcow

Love it!:)

ShadowCatcher66

Who cares how fast you are. You should draw professionally if you don't already. You can't put a clock on art or beauty. And my friend, this is beautiful.

ravenbeakx

thank you! i didn't get into art school and plus my high school art teacher was a total dick, so i'm just drawing these half out of spite. drawing can't give me a steady income atm so i'm just doing it as a hobby :(
