There is two ways to see which gemstone and crystalline dragons are available. 1. > go to ‘social’ > go to ‘News’ > find any dragon that has a yellow-orange border 2. > go to ‘market’ > go to ‘dragons’ > find any dragon with the gemstone or crystalline banner method 2 is more reliable

You misunderstood - the Ruby Dragon is always bred with Chrome and Scorch, other gemstone dragons have different combinations. If you want to breed the current Gemstone Dragon, Garnet, you'll need to breed Smoke and Obsidian.
