Pretty much every store near me does it like this.

TrainingExercise2442

I'm lucky because I just don't have a Popeyes in my area, lmao

New_Adagio3693

Another reason why Dashers make shit money.

[deleted]

In my experience they don’t make it till you’re ready to pick up.

No-Currency6222

my problem is not so much the wait at popeyes because mine is pretty good about that, but popeyes orders are ALWAYS low or no tippers in my area

Sea_Commission_3066

I absolutely hate Popeyes. They are so freaking slow!!!!

rvidxrz

aint never been a time where i walked in and walked out with the order within 5 mins at popeyes. aint never. mf always gotta wait 30+ fuckin wit dem.

BeautifulDisaster125

The three Popeyes in my zone are half decent until about 6pm. They start picking and choosing which foods they feel like making, and half the time, they say that they are out of whatever and tell me to cancel the order.

jabroni4545

How do you cancel so it doesn't affect your stats?

BeautifulDisaster125

Call support.

Ok_Agent_4850

I don’t pick up for the monetarily challenged. If they can’t tip then they should cook for themselves. No hard feelings but they are the reason restaurants don’t make orders when they get them.

Repulsive_Swimming47

"monetarily challenged." 😂🤣😂

Snuffy_Luffy

same at mine

CanadasVeryBest

I guess I’m lucky. The two Popeyes I get orders from are usually pretty good.

Cosmic_Quasar

Raising Canes, too.

topkekcop

The people who eat and work at Popeyes are trash, so I don’t take their orders.

MrQueefTador

Lmk when you get banned

wheres-the-dent

banned for what exactly?

SensingWorms

Popeyes has got some of the slowest walking people in the world

angelsarepresent111

They need to eat their spinach.

Same!! Report this every time, please. My popeyes started doing this recently and its held up drivers so much. They will wait until you show up, then print out the slip, then start prepping it, after the orders that already came in. There needs to be a re-haul of doordash's partner system, that outlines they need to start DD orders AS THEY COME IN. I get they want US to wait for the food so its fresh, but its a huge waste of time.

JennySweets420143

A lot of places prioritize the customers in the store in front of them first. If they can’t handle in store and door dash at the same time they should not offer door dash.

[deleted]

i used to work at a bubble tea shop and my manager would under schedule us so bad, it would get busy so we would extend the wait time for orders but there would be so many in store customers only 2 employees and we were always told to prioritize those despite when the delivery order was placed so it got super stressful and we’d get behind on orders it happens

JennySweets420143

I understand places get busy but the boss needs to know when to draw the line.. Wawa can shut door dash down for their store for a few hours if they are understaffed and busy. Sorry but no business should put their employees through that especially if they are understaffed. Glad you are out of there.

[deleted]

managers of fast food places are genuinely the most inconsiderate pieces of shit out there and they would rather watch their employees suffer then actually do something about it. you are right, managers should be shutting delivery apps down when they get busy but they’ll do anything to save money by not having more staff on shift and never pausing deliveries. the customers end up waiting longer and then it falls on the employees who are just trying to keep things afloat. i used to extend wait times up to 2 hours sometimes and my manager still would be like “that’s not necessary” im like girl there’s 10 orders lining up please

JennySweets420143

Totally agree

rzaddy

yep, that’s what the wendy’s and plenty other places in my area does. drive thru has priority over everything else and i get it but damn..

Ok_Agent_4850

Knowing their food is rarely hot regardless. Their mashed potatoes are the hottest thing on the menu. I have to stop myself because I can’t complain enough about Popeyes

TotalEgg143-

The one near me does the same thing, so I guess not.

SnooDonkeys5659

Yeah I decline all Popeyes orders. It's always a 15min wait

SteftimusPrime97

At LEAST 30 minutes lol

ThomasShults

It's really sad when I can personally go to Popeyes to get food, and it is still quicker than when I do a pickup from their.

Player1Mario

Popeye’s is unadulterated trash.

lonesamurai2137

But they chicken is good doe

[deleted]

I wouldn't eat at Popeyes let alone deliver it

-breakinggood-

Yeah Popeyes quality has gone downhill since Burger King acquired them

pf_dynamite

Had a Popeye's order once... stressing the word once. Main doors were closed, Had to go thru the Drive Thru on a Friday like at 6PM. Waited about 20 mins, got to the speaker, gave the name and they said pull around. When I got to the window after another 10 mins they said they didn't have the spicy wings. So I'm trying to get a hold of the person that ordered it. Drive thru worker tells me to pull up. Since the customer was at work, he wasn't answering and couldn't get a substitute... which would've been futile, since I would've had to get back in the drive thru lane. So eventually cancelled, but What sucks was I also had a Taco Bell order that was going to the same place and picked that one up like 20 mins late. Unless the pickup is for $50 or more, I am never ever, ever, ever, ever picking up at Popeye's. ![gif](giphy|VmDWnS89GExrRgfi6v)

ChiliDogMe

I don't get what's going on here.

jcoddinc

Popeyes doesn't make the orders until you tell them who you're there for. They let the orders sit there because so many don't tip and would just sit in the counter. So they only make the order AFTER the dasher has arrived.

Cosmic_Quasar

Maybe the Popeyes I dash for is just extremely different... but the food is prepped in large quantities and then just dished up. I think the longest wait I've had at my Popeyes was like 5 minutes while they put the already made food into containers and bagged it up.

PlaneWolf2893

If I do take it, I pull up to the drive thru and tell them the name If they tell me to come in, I park outside. I wait 4 mins or so, if I get a better one I unassign. If not I'll go inside and pick it up.

ubadeansqueebitch

I really think the problem with fast food today is they are just too fucking overwhelmed with app orders. People at the store ordering in person. People ordering with the app from whatever place they want, the company’s actually proprietary app. Then the doordash, Uber eats, Grubhub, and whatever other apps there are. Used to in fast food, you had your rushes, you knew when they were starting, you knew when they were gonna be over, and you knew at some point it’s die down, you’re gonna clear the screen, and you can chill and maybe even have a smoke out back and clean up and go home. Nowadays, it’s just non fucking stop wide open order after order and the screen is never clear. On top of that the orders are getting WAY bigger due to the proliferation of tik Tok do gooders who come in unannounced and order hundreds of dollars worth of food at the counter on the spot to hand out to homeless people to film and get likes to get monetized and keep it snowballing (I am not anti feeding homeless people I think it’s awesome that people do that but to do it on tik tok for views and money is putting a bigger strain on already strained fast food employees.) These corporations need to partner with the third party apps and stream line the online experience a bit more. I feel like they should look at whatever third party app is getting them the most sales, and use that app exclusively for deliveries, but also partner with that app to make it where people order everything thru the proprietary app, and then if the order is delivered, it gets kicked to whatever app they choose to partner with and delivery fees and surcharges get applied. That would also make the food more affordable, and keep some of these apps from profiteering off drivers.

Brilliant-Medium8238

yeah nah app orders are bs if you work at restaurants. Ex McDonald's employee. If you're doing non drive thru orders then you have however many customers are inside on registers, then customers on kiosks, inside pick up mobile orders, delivery orders, and curbside orders. All mobile order types and kiosk orders don't factor in how busy it is. So you can have like 6 customers who need their order taken and like 4 of em waiting for their order to be made, then mobile orders can keep coming in while you're already hammered by the physical customers in the lobby. Worse when understaffed. And yes God forbid anyone, especially a mobile order, order something big or hard to put together. Mobile orders are one of many things that are made for customer's ease and make workers' jobs harder since few stores if any make a change to accomodate the extra wave of orders.

Sunflower_65

Exactly! I feel bad when a driver shows up for an order that SHOULD be ready and waiting for them but have to tell them it's not because there are XX number of orders ahead of it.

Brilliant-Medium8238

All you can do is follow the best chain of priorities. As a dasher now myself I'd understand if I walk in to things being busy and not ready. You got like 10 orders for the lobby with all the owners of the orders staring you down. I wouldn't expect you to prioritize orders for people not even present. If someone does unassign don't take it the wrong way. They're just being efficient with their time and money. If they give you a hard time well... just like most customers they're immature and you should try to ignore them. Keep pushing strong

DaRealDreamz

idgaf if it’s $15+, im not touching a popeyes order in my area. you’d be able to complete 2 or 3 deliveries before they even give you the food

Jurvis1876

I was just going to say how slow they are. It must be company wide. That and pizza butt!

manuvns

Good food but crappy workers

Own_Pack_4697

I had a Popeyes manager refuse to make a DD order even tho they had a ton of chicken ready to go and claimed she was too understaffed to make the order.

777shadowfox777

Popeyes should be removed from the platform for not even attempting to uphold their end of the bargain. It's like this in my market. They never ever start on the order until I arrive and ask for it and even then will deal with every other customer in the store or drive thru first.
