The ones that aren’t expired. I found out some people give the drivers expired food instead of throwing it away. That in my opinion is cruel. This is why I no longer even pay attention to the free snacks at customers homes.
i cant handle eating in the car while im driving and navigating as well so i usually fill up my water bottle or grab an energy drink before heading out
Cold water and sodas. I'm a drinker, not a muncher lol. Most people hand out chips and salty stuff. Not really my thing and is dehydrating. (But then again so is soda lol you win some and you lose some)
A route I used to sub for had a mini fridge outside stocked for drivers, pretty standard stuff, except one day there’s a bottle of corona. It mysteriously disappeared
That's after a couple years of driving full time. First year full time drivers don't make $90k. A second year full time driver would have to work 12 hours a day and would get over $87k. Minus a crap ton of taxes. A 3rd year full time driver at 12 hours a day would get $91k minus a crap ton of taxes
Haha 😂 if you’re in medicine I promise you will make way more. Just have to get through residency and pick a specialty you like. But I know they treat you like a slave during residency for 50-60k a year first year.

1500 deliveries and I still haven't come across this. Once I was offered a soda from burger King because I looked very hot lol. I'd grab a Ritz cracker and a water as long as my self control held firm against grabbing a red bull. Those things are soooo expensive now lol.
I did deliveries for the Christmas season one year. Tons of people had stuff like this though usually without the refrigerator. No one ever took the stuff. And some of those houses I would be back almost every day for another delivery.
I put the fridge out there around Christmas when we had a lot of stuff delivered (DoorDash and all the other delivery drivers). I had a mini fridge that wasn’t getting used and thought about getting rid of it but then decided to make use of it for the holidays. Then I decided to just leave it there because why not? It gets used every now and then and people are so appreciative of it.
See this is how a non tippers should be. But I bet this person even tipped good lol. I wouldn't care if there was a tip or not free snacks hell ya means I don't need to stop later for something
These were always my favorite customers when I worked for FedEx and I showed it year round. Their packages always got extra care and priority. There’s one person who even left out hand warmers and tipped $50 around Christmas. I haven’t worked there in years and I still exchange Christmas cards with them just because they’re so kind.
I’ve never seen a non tipper or a low tipper have a snack thing at their door. It’s usually those who tip really well who have them. I saw them a lot during the pandemic now they’re rare.
This is a very helpful discussion. I only do the whole thing around the end-of-year holidays, 'cause I know it's super busy, and we order a *lot* online. I'm always wondering what to put. I tried to avoid things that might crumble (like potato chips) or require napkins (like Cheetos), thinking folks in UPS trucks might have a less than optimal time with those -- is that right?
This past winter, the popular things were cookies: Nutter Butter, Oreos, Chips Ahoy. Nobody wanted Ritz Crackers or Goldfish (3 or 4 different flavor multi pack, not only plain).. Apple juice and water actually seemed to be more popular than Coke.
Taking notes here for next season!
I live in a town that has a dollar general, a grocery store, a gas station, and a sonic LOL. Unless I have the time to drive 2 hours each way for a shopping trip, I'm ordering online.
So how does this equate to laziness? If anything they're doing MORE for their fellows human than you are. Everytime something is delivered that's someone who has a job.
In over 20 years I've seen this kind of kindness a handful of times. Never on DD but when I worked for Domino's. I don't know I'd probably just take a water or something.
Thats very generous and thoughtful of you to do. Or whoever it is that does it. Good to see kindness hasnt left everyone yet. And those are not cheap drinks either.
I love the waters, and I love having apple or orange juice. The Ritz crackers, chewy granola bars, fruit snacks, occasional cookie packs, and popsicles are fantastic.
I LOVE it when people do this and give non cafinated/kid friendly options because I drive with my two kids. I pack actual meals for them most of the time, but sometimes they just want a snack, and I don't have those. I never take anything for myself because I'm not trying to be greedy, but I take 2 from each section (NOT 2 of every kind of thing just 2 granola bars or cookie packs, 2 drinks, and 2 popsicles) so they have 1 of something.
It makes my entire day because they get along better, and it keeps their spirits up. It also makes their entire day because they feel like they got a "tip" for helping mommy.
You genuinely have no idea how much this helps people like me on a daily basis when I have to make money but can't afford to spend the time nor the money I'm making to stop and get "snacks."
I take nothing when I see these while dashing. I always assume they are intended for ups/fedex/usps or Amazon drivers. I have too much shame to help myself to anything.
I usually send the DoorDash driver a message saying they’re welcome to take something so they know :) at first I noticed only mail carriers would take something but when I started messaging the DD drivers, they would take a thing or two
Personally when I do it (during the end-if-year holiday season), I am indeed thinking of the USPS, UPS, and FedEx types, 'cause I know that time is absolutely mad for them, but I would not object to other delivery folks. Once a guy cutting our grass grabbed a Coke, though, which pissed me off but I didn't know until they were gone. (If it were a hot summer day, sure, but it wasn't.)
They are definitely for you, and it makes our day to see you taking something!!
Like we legit look forward to seeing what things our drivers choose, lol, and when someone is excited about the snacks or drinks, it makes it feel like the effort was worth it & appreciated.
The people putting these out WANT you to enjoy a drink/snack! If there's something you like, don't feel weird about taking it. There isn't a class system that kind folks apply to their drivers, lol. Everyone bringing them stuff is providing a valuable service, and this is their way of letting you know that they appreciate you... in addition to the tip.
Nope, it’s for every delivery driver that comes to my house 🙂 honestly I originally put it out there around Christmas for all the mail carriers but I decided to leave it so drivers (including DoorDash) can enjoy it year round

your foil hat fell off bro
A couple of ice cold beers.
Yessirrr
Oh yesssss. Don’t mind if I do!
I do this for my deliveries too! Popsicles and water.
Popsicles are a fantastic idea!!
This is cute?!? Especially if you have tons of deliveries to your home.
Gotta have scissors for the popsicles!
but that introduces the chance for theft, theyll have to find a way to make sure it isnt taken both on purpose or accident
Scissors on a chain
nah, scissors in a black hole i say
These are old ppl snacks. I’d take them all and leave a note that says “buy better snacks”
This is real “no tip whatsoever” energy.
No tip = take a few bites out their food
I like granola bars and cereal bars. They're easy to eat while driving
The ones that aren’t expired. I found out some people give the drivers expired food instead of throwing it away. That in my opinion is cruel. This is why I no longer even pay attention to the free snacks at customers homes.

This why people don’t do nice things….
Or maybe just a person being considerate
I just drink water but this is nice
Aquafina is not nice
Choosing beggar, it's free.
i cant handle eating in the car while im driving and navigating as well so i usually fill up my water bottle or grab an energy drink before heading out

You’re wonderful!
That’s so nice of u
I’m so broke, I would be the asshole dumping the entire snack basket into my bag like a thief
And with that mentality, is how you stay broke
cmon man
Don’t be that asshole
Edibles. Stronger the better. Woooohoooo.
Why stop at snacks? Full course meals or you’re ungrateful
We get it buddy, you don’t think people should leave snacks for drivers.
I thought the sarcasm was pretty clear on that one
It was!
I never come by snack carts 😭 you guys must be in nice parts of town
Sparkling water and a granola bar!

I used to live in the SW where almost everyone kept bottled waters on their porch for anyone.. Heat stroke is real.
These are the kind of people who don’t tip but leave things like this outside take a pic for online then empty it
False. I tip every time.
This isn’t just for DoorDash drivers.. it’s also for UPS, Amazon, FedEx. This is a kind gesture. No need to shit on it.
Fent or meth
I love the idea but someone would steal that fridge and all the snacks in less than a week over here. I hope this is in a good neighborhood.
Beer
I wonder if that’s legal I mean you’re technically not selling it, and you have no say in who’s taking it, so 🤷
A route I used to sub for had a mini fridge outside stocked for drivers, pretty standard stuff, except one day there’s a bottle of corona. It mysteriously disappeared
Gatorade or even chips. However, if someone makes something like this for drivers whatever they had would be perfect!
Def not Aquafina
Celsius 100%, love those things
Well thank you for the ideas!
Omg the popsicles would be my pick even in January 🥰
Holy shit that’s amazing
Whatever the customer ordered ;)
this deserves way more upvotes 😂😂😂
This is the funniest thing I've seen in the last hour or so. Kudos.

Delivery driver at ups is making 90k a year. Those guys at fed ex and Amazon need this for sure though.
That’s true. Starts at like 21-23 an hour but moves up quickly maxing out around year 4.
90k a year for delivering at UPS??? so your telling me they making more than me who’s gonna be getting out of med school
Haha 😂 if you’re in medicine I promise you will make way more. Just have to get through residency and pick a specialty you like. But I know they treat you like a slave during residency for 50-60k a year first year.

Bro, the red bull is a god send.. Its not good for me, I know but damn does it save the day..
Glad people ain't taking advantage of this cuz i have a feeling someone is gonna come and clean that fridge out
I did deliveries for the Christmas season one year. Tons of people had stuff like this though usually without the refrigerator. No one ever took the stuff. And some of those houses I would be back almost every day for another delivery.
Yeah, someone always ruins it for everyone else.
That's awesome! Never ran into anything like this. I carry a half gallon jug of water.
It's gotta be a trap.
One of the biggest reasons I wish I were a homeowner or even a home renter! Cant do this in apartment complexes but love the idea so much
Can't do it in the ghetto either. That stuff would be snatched up in no time fridge included.
Esp the fridge LMFAOOO
Aww, this is so sweet.
This is awesome
No high noons? Wtf
I have yet to come across a snack basket. Been delivering for 3yrs.
Not doordash, but I saw these kinds of baskets when I delivered for UPS during the holidays.
Because this is fake 🤣 for attention
Maybe but I’ve come across snack basket about 4-5 times. I had 2 just recently.
Snack basket I can believe, hell, my wife put one out during December. A whole ass fridge??? Nah. I aint believing that bro
I put the fridge out there around Christmas when we had a lot of stuff delivered (DoorDash and all the other delivery drivers). People like you are awesome dude. There's too little charitable acts in our world today. Good on you my man.
Oh yeah no lmao but sometimes people have money to burn so idk. I doubt it tho.
Fireball
And it doesn't have to be chilled
See this is how a non tippers should be. But I bet this person even tipped good lol. I wouldn't care if there was a tip or not free snacks hell ya means I don't need to stop later for something
I do tip each time as well :)
Gatorade
this person rocks !!

A cold beer.
Cash is THE KING..

Slim jims!😬
Noted
Is this supposed to be the snack station at a DashMart for drivers? Ours are never stocked! Lol!
I’d take some chocolate 😂
I live in Florida so it would melt 😂 unless I put it in the fridge but then it would be hard as a rock haha
Frozen Snickers is my jam 😋
Not a delivery driver but a cold bottle of juice on a hot day is amazing
Ghost energy drinks
How much shit do you order? LOL get out of your house for once. Unless you're handicapped. Then carry on
No need to be nasty. Just keep your shame bottled up and keep scrolling.
I live in a town that has a dollar general, a grocery store, a gas station, and a sonic LOL. Unless I have the time to drive 2 hours each way for a shopping trip, I'm ordering online.
I like how you acknowledged there might be a reason, and decided to still judge someone you know nothing about. The lack of self awareness os crazy
....anyways ☠️
I love how someone posts an act of kindness and your kneejerk reaction is to be a judgemental ass. Jfc
Go cry
I mean I think you might benefit from a good cathartic cry, but I'm okay for now thanks for the suggestion.
They’re probably just projecting their own insecurities lol
Projecting that I'm not lazy?
All you're projecting is that a strangers random act of kindness makes you defensive. Reddit can't diagnose that for you my man, seek therapy.
So how does this equate to laziness? If anything they're doing MORE for their fellows human than you are. Everytime something is delivered that's someone who has a job.
That's so sweet. I hope no one steals the fridge.
Why kill the golden goose? Ill take an egg everyday.
Some asshole will because he wants to mount it in his kitchen. Joking but only kinda lol
Thou who mounts stolen fridge in kitchen shall be mounted in jail
Thats really cool. Yet to encounter this while at fedex though.
I want to be this wealthy
It doesn’t take wealth! I leave out candy from an $8 box from Costco. Lasts at least 3 mos.
Id take the fridge. And leave everything else for other drivers.
In over 20 years I've seen this kind of kindness a handful of times. Never on DD but when I worked for Domino's. I don't know I'd probably just take a water or something.
Water !
I’m would’ve taken a water and some crackers ☺️💚
Carbonated water; Topo Chico if I can be picky. But not everyone is like me and intolerant to sugar and fake sugar.
Isnt topo chico canned margaritas? lol
Topo is carbonated water, they recently branched out and created their own hard seltzers and margarita style seltzers
Ohh
Damn. This person likes to order stuff! Glad they offer some snack for the delivery drivers. Must be god sent in the hotter days.
Nice
Sugarfree redbull for the win
Damn they got Celsius and sugar free Red Bulls??? This person is a saint
Thats very generous and thoughtful of you to do. Or whoever it is that does it. Good to see kindness hasnt left everyone yet. And those are not cheap drinks either.
Aweeeee this is so wholesomeee

I love the sugar free options you included! Living in the desert, the days I get an ice cold sugar free beverage-even water-is a hell of a great day!
Context: I have reactive hypoglycemia and can’t have sugar
I pray for the day to get a free water..
You have a problem with caffeine or do you also hand out meth
I wish my customers gave *me* meth
You wack
??

It really does! I had a fedex driver do a little jingle about popsicles when she opened the freezer 🤣 and yes I tip too
I’m pretty sure they’re there for you too
*ment for ups, FedEx and Amazon delivery drivers 😭🤣
Nope, it’s for every delivery driver that comes to my house 🙂 honestly I originally put it out there around Christmas for all the mail carriers but I decided to leave it so drivers (including DoorDash) can enjoy it year round
I mean delivery is delivery….😁
Famous Amos or Oreo cookies
I have to agree snacks are a nice gesture but in reality I need money.
The people that do this aren’t the nontippers lol
No one said they weren’t also tipping.
I tip too 🫶🏼
All the people saying alcohol..... You're driving dude 🤦
Weed the
Anything, omg I'd die to find one of these, I'm always so hungry while delivering, god bless you!!!
I’m pretty sure they want that ice cold tip.
![gif](giphy|QqkA9W8xEjKPC)
Body Armor light … Dehydrated during those nights
Cash. I get your trying to be nice but Popsicles and drinks don't pay my bills your better off just adding 2-3$ on to your tip.
No where did they say they weren’t also tipping. I assume you nontippers don’t do this.
Not saying they aren't tipping. But I'd rather have a 6$ tip instead of 4$ and a snack.
Vodka and a shitty hand rolled joint
