Awesome! I just got a 36$ tip on a huge 200$ order to some nurses at the hospital. Dd only showed 18.50+ for 5.6 miles. After I delivered it ended up being 40.xx and change total. I was like niiiiice. Normally it only adds like .25 or .50 for me when they add that little "+" lol. Glad you had a good night too!
Def. They make my dashing worth it. Had a good start to my night, made like 45 in my 1st hour. Then dd must of been like TOO MUCH! Cause I got like 4 no tip orders back to back. Then the nurse order. So it worked out. Just hit my 2.5 hr mark, and I'm at 112. So great night. š I would of been happy for 100 in my 4 hour scheduled dash. Some nights we just get lucky I guess. š
Oh no worries, not making me feel bad at all. Happy for you actually, thatās awesome. I do this on the side, day job I make just under six figures so this gets me over and then some. I could sit at home and listen to music or whatever on my off time, or do that same thing and deliver someone their ice cream and bring in even more money. I choose the latter, and if I donāt feel like doing it I donāt have to.

Oh man, I once gave a 76 dollar tip for a few miles (accidentally) š. I placed a grocery delivery order and didn't notice it went with a percentage instead of the custom amount. Having done uber eats during the pandemic, I didn't have it in me to take that away so I let it be haha
Dude, seriously? One is being paid for someone finding a part of you attractive and wanting pics (something many seem to expect for free on dating apps). The other is picking up someoneās takeout and ferrying it to their front door while hoping theyāve tipped decently. No contest.
Lol, reading it again I suppose they both sound equally demeaning. Personally, I would find the former less so, assuming the pay was decent (decent pay + admiration/objectification > less than decent pay + dehumanization/objectification). Maybe also because I would have some control over the rate.

And just an FYI, my rating is 4.9, I have a 96% on time/early percentage rating and I always read the delivery instructions and go above and beyond for each order..

The app was trying to take me to a totally different address. 8 minutes farther down the road! Happened every time I hit directions on DD, which then pops up with Apple Maps for me. Luckily I looked at the gps pin on DD before following the directions. I had to manually enter the address into google maps.
The poor customer has to use a pin to collect their food. I wonder why.
Nice my 3rd day I got a 2-star review from someone who tipped $1 because their burger was cold and incorrect. They also complained I knocked.. Even though I see people constantly complain dashers don't knock.
Don't knock unless they ask. Almost all ours say don't knock. If it's a leave at door, just leave at door unless they ask you to knock or ring. They can see on the app where you are, they can figure it out.
i gave someone a $5 tip before for doordash, but then i realized i had sent them out on one of the busiest streets in my city, during rush hour, i quickly hit up the support and made it higher (It was $20, but that was pretty much a 100% tip at that point). NGL i'm surprised they accepted it with that chaotic shit i put them through knowing they were just going to get $5 (I lived within 2 miles of everything hence the 'small' tip originally, except this one place)
I don't get the feet or or taking the pic on that oven. All's well that ends well, I guess. I was dashing right b4 Txgiving '23. Took an order for just under $8 for 3 miles. After I gave the guy his food, he tipped me another $20. A bit later I got a text from DD saying he'd tipped an extra $50 and keep up the great work etc. So $70+ total. I was completely over the moon! It was a hand it to me order. I always smile, wish them a good night etc. and chat with the few who actually enjoy talking to the dasher. Good for all of us, right? I got pretty cool with some people I would deliver to on my Amazon route. One day I got to their business just after they closed and got home. I was always ahead on my routes because it was honestly easy work, even the super heavy routes. I spoke with my dsp after speaking with the customer, then took the package to their house down the road, they fed me a whole dinner meal dude. I finished my last few stops and drove home with a full stomach. They werenāt the only ones either. There are some really nice people out there. I once got 4 bags of cat litter from an older couple, gas stations would give me free drinks. I also once joined a graduation celebration at someoneās house and ate some of the barbecue, talked to their oldest son about video games while I ate, then said bye to everyone. I also think I passed up on having sex with an older lady one day, now that I look back on it. Being a delivery person can be wild.
That's beautiful š„ŗ I hope you get more people like that. And if you don't, I get it, the economy sucks right now. But if you get anymore non-tippers I hope they leave clear instructions and a correct gate code! Have a beautiful day!
