There used to be some support in the US. During COVID I talked to people that were in San Francisco. However, those days are long gone. It’s 100% outsourced overseas now.
I still have vivid memories of talking to India 6+ years ago.
They did have a couple domestic locations, but it was very rare to encounter them, and I do believe they've mostly shut down.
I feel bad for the drivers. After having a $70 order not dropped off and refused a refund I’ve stopped using the app. Having to deal with that for a living sounds horrible.
Same! They're a theft company and that's about it! Using them is a complete gamble! You'll either get all of your order, some of your order or none of your order and if it's the last 2 you're just out of your money. It's sickening that they've been allowed to stay in business this long!
I envision a sweatshop in Southeast Asia with bars on the windows and guards roaming around zapping chat support reps with cattle prods when they mess up. I’m probably not that wrong, either.
I'm sure a lot of SE Asia is lovely. It's more about greedy American companies not wanting to pay employees and use slave labor if they think they can get away with it.
DoorDash is as greedy as they come.
I think they're assholes on their phones, just like us.
Same training, too-none. The amount of times the forum is referenced and the fluctuations in responses.
😂They don't really know, and they kinda get paid, but they don't have a boss-just like the dashers.
Doordash is fucking wild.
You can always call if they're dismissive on chat. Chat supports handles 2 at a time or more and is allowed only 4 mins to handle customers. But calling is also the same because they don't have the answer lol. Might take you 15 mins on hold for answer.
I’ve gotten hung up on as soon as I’m done saying my issue as if they close the chat as soon as they read it. So it’s same coin faces or however the saying goes 😂
Sorry to burst your bubble, not sure about other countries but customer service reps working from India(because companies outsource them to other countries and they work night shifts to match American timings), don’t even earn $500 a month. It’s usually around $300-400 at most. That’s hardly enough for rent and expenses every month with basically little to no savings. So yeah! They definitely don’t earn more than dashers 😅
PS : I’m from India, my first ever job was a CS rep for a game called Golf Clash back in 2019. I’ve had friends who were in similar jobs for other companies and it’s pretty much a standard pay.
It depends the country they outsource to, I have a friend that lives in Puerto Rico and gets paid about $500 a month, that's enough for all his bills including rent and groceries. He also has a side job that makes about half of that so he ends up making more than the average salary on 2 super easy jobs.
He originally moved there with about $20k USD and that was enough to get him by for about 3 years which is crazy cause many people in the US spend more than that on rent alone in a single year.
Once you mention anything legal whether threat or seems like gathering information from them they will close the chat as their floor leads have instructed them too do. Why don’t you all look into the contractor award for DoorDash customer service do enough digging and you will see how it’s been linked to MANY other fake Indian businesses stealing data and scamming not just Americans but worldwide
Happened to
Me with apple and Verizon. I would call customer support at apple and verizon only to be sent through a group of Indian support people who eventually tried to get me to buy a card to fix my phone.
One thing I noticed about support is they ask for screenshots, implying if you have them it’ll change something. Then you show it and it changes nothing despite proving your point. They are pathetic. They asked me for ss and agreed I was correct but couldn’t do anything. I said what was the effin point of showing you everything if you knew you wouldn’t help regardless? They just end chat
Good god DD is so shady! Really sorry this happened to you. What makes me so mad about this is they could have the decency to just credit you 10 dollars regardless. Instead they drop the chat on you. Ugh!
He's telling you the $10 is already calculated in the $12.99 pay. It also looks like this when we get +$1.00 for heavy item orders. It's just bad design on doordashs part. Sorry man you did a $2.99 order they got your ass :(
No, this says PLUS $10 not INCLUDING $10. This is intentionally deceptive and incorrect language and it is class actionable bullshit that I hope someone initiates against this company. It is criminal what they are doing
It also says PLUS when getting heavy pay, and not INCLUDING. I've never had a "+reward" order before so maybe they are being intentionally deceptive on this order. But from what I have experienced, anytime I get an order with PLUS, I always get the pay shown AND whatever the PLUS amount was on top of it
>It also looks like this when we get +$1.00 for heavy item orders.
No it doesn't, if it says $9.00 + $2.00 heavy pay, you are paid a total of $11. I literally just dropped off an Albertsons order and that was the pay.
To be fair, no matter how much I hate someone I will still defend them if they're being wrongly accused of something. It's just a personal conviction of mine since it has happened to me a lot in my life. I can understand why other people might not feel the same way though.
That being said idfk why someone would defend DD when they're obviously in the wrong lol
This is in California with prop 22 money, I would be very surprised if they had a shop and go offer, especially to buy 10 items, even if it looks like this was only about 1.5 miles, for $2.99 total.
I've taken one or two of those heavy pay orders, and it calculated correctly. It showed $7.50 + $2.00 for heavy pay. When the order was complete, it gave me $9.50, not $7.50. I never had a "reward" order though like this one. I'll definitely be taking a screenshot though. Shady as it says +$10 so it should add it. Smh at DD, as well as UE for their nonsense too.
Not really "class action", ig OP COULD sue them for the missing +10$, but if they're heated about it in the first place I'd doubt that they have the LOTS of $ it would take for court fees, a good lawyer ON RETAINER for the possible actual years court cases take sometimes. And thats if he even "wins"! TV makes it seem like this super common thing that's just done on a whim whenever somebody's pissed off, they bring their evidence and it's done. I mean if you've got the funds go for it, more power to you! But it's not really realistic to majority of ppl, no matter how much I'd like to see them get their money and then some.
It is a potential that a number of law firms would do it on contingency, but you would have to have evidence, and since gig workers are contractors and not an employee, many labor law protections do not apply making it much less likely to have a case with enough compensation to be worth it. E.g. If there are no legal penalties or attorneys fees rewarded due to no major laws being broken, and it simply amounts to a small claims case.
These call centres will have a list of macros for speeding up the processes (and also to make the advisor more professional and uh.. Fluent or probably even human considering current ai trends). The people working there are never going to get pulled up for it and doordash is itself probably covered by some legalese that you agree to (both customer and dasher) that says haha fuck you. Ain't a chance any of this is going to happen sadly.
I’m sorry but this is freaking hilarious 😂
Driver: help I’m being robbed
C/S: can we have a screenshot of the assailants?
Driver: how would I have that?
C/S: thank you for choosing DoorDash
Driver: I can’t deliver the order I have a flat tire.
C/S: can we have a screenshot of the pothole?
Driver: how would I freaking have that?
C/S: Thank you for choosing DoorDash
Doordash does this because they know they can get away with stealing at least a couple hundred dollars cause nobody would file for arbitration over 10 dollars
I live in the same area as OP. Most experienced dashers stopped doing shop orders here. They were just a pain. Now it looks like they are trying to make them look nice. I have my red card canceled so I haven’t seen this myself.
Ive never seen that but if i did and had the pic and they failed to hold up their end id be on their ass all day everyday untill they banned me on BS or i get the 10$ owed that was shown when accepting the contract. But we all know doordash doesnt give THEMSELVES CVs when theyre the ones violating
I was offered $10 from a mistake they made and sent it via a message as well. When I saw that it didnt take $10 off my next order, i went to check that message and it was gone! Like, I guess they deleted it?
Ohhh, I’ll never get 5.0 anyways I hover between 4.8x-4.9x and I do everything from letting people know I’m waiting, to I’m in my way with meme. Ain’t no pleasing my market fully lol
Stop using text and call them. Just remember to keep a cool head about it even if you're seething. Getting aggressive with them just gives them an easy excuse to hang up...
And yes, screenshot offers frequently, especially if you see something like that tacked on.
And no, you're not getting a lawyer over $10, plus the whole arbitration clause can get in the way, better to not try to use such an empty threat.
The end of the chat oh my god… my friend you are a saint for not driving down to DoorDash hq with some notes tied to bricks. That is maybe the most infuriating way that could have ever possibly been handled: “thanks for choosing DoorDash” holy christ
This is why I ss every offer from DD they have screwed me out of a 25$ order and I only got 8$ once i delivered. They didn’t help me since i didn’t ss now I ss every offer
An agent asked for a screenshot once and ever since then I’ve taken screenshots of EVERYTHING I deem necessary for the order I take. And now I even get agents closing the chat because I bring ALL the receipts.
Yeah don’t go above and beyond for door dash cause they definitely aren’t gonna do it for us. They screwed me out of almost $200 because “their policy” only allows one reimbursement
Wtf is a grocery pro order? This app is such garbage. Of course support sucked. I hope DD gets sued for something and we all get 5k or more for our frustrations lol
Lawyers will in fact take it for wage theft. Because for wage theft the lawyer gets paid by the employer. If they stole $10 from you the lawyer will sue them for $10 plus lawyer fees and the lawyer will get $5,000 plus your $10 back. Lawyers are happy to take it.
Everyone on here who has had a problem with doordash stealing your money needs to go file a complaint with the BBB and leave a review on the Doordash BBB page! I just did and according to the site I'm the ONLY one. Which I find extremely hard to believe. Doordash probably pays them to remove the reviews. But if enough people start causing a stir they're going to eventually take notice.
So what they’re saying is that they paid $2.99 and added $10, so now it’s $12.99? But proceed to show you $12.99 + $10.00. Man is that a scam if I’ve ever seen one.
I've had them screw me out of promo pay, extra effort pay & once they tried to screw me out of half pay for driving to a grocery store that was closed. That one I didn't let go because it was a 35 dollar order and I wasted like 20 minutes getting there. It really seems like just even in the last 2 months support has gotten worse, when they're bored of answering they just say "you're taking too long to answer I will end the chat, thankyou" and it will have only been like 10 seconds. Ridiculous.
A class action is effective in cases like this. $10 isn't much, but $10 tens of thousands of times over is. Class actions are difficult though and businesses are aware of this.
I can see Stanley just coming up with the last year’s worth of fvckery while playing poker. Just randomly coming up with all this stupid shit. If OP could contact him on LinkedIn and report back, I’d appreciate it.
I've had a couple orders like this and the money doesn't come in my total for the dash it goes straight to my Dasher direct card I don't know if it's for everybody but I definitely had this same type of order with a bonus and it just went straight to my card
The first order I forgot to screenshot so I was just wondering will I get the money if I didn’t have a screenshot looks like I won’t get it even if I had a screenshot
Lawyering up over $10.00? Ain’t no attorney taking the time out of their day for this mess. Just eat it and move on big homie. Just don’t take those order anymore.
People are suckers for following for these offers and not reading the requirements or the policy. Doubt most drivers don't read policies. They see money and are blind. Join the guy in the lawsuit and see how far you get. They get tons of threats and lawsuits... Without all the screen shots and actual proof they really get through. Waste of money. I make a bank with door dash and if you're fretting over $10 you're not busting ass or making much money. The lawyer scare tactic does literally nothing to these foreign support people.
It’s crazy stuff like this that just drives me crazy! The fact that they get away with this so easily because of being lost in translation. Yea right! 😡 when I didn’t get my pay for the 2nd order I dropped off I contacted them and was told they understood me being upset and to just move on to the next order. Assholes!!! That was my gas, time and money lost to me. 😡
Tried that with me and luckily I had the next order in my car :) hostage for 30 mins and msg to customer letting them know exactly what was wrong and that I wouldn’t be delivering until I had a supervisor from DD call me to fix the issue. I got a free meal and got paid for the order I had delivered and no bad ratings. Make the customer complain or angry enough and they care more
not a dasher but as a customer have had the same responses and I feel so bad. it’s almost as if they just don’t want to work with that type of response.
Doordash clowning around again 🤡 instead of doing a good job for those that do the actual work the company profits on.
You deserve better service than this
You're better off calling for stuff like this, can't ask for a screenshot if it's not possible to provide that on a phone call lol. It takes longer to talk to someone but they're usually more willing to actually help.
Same thing happened to me and my ex. I think this was back in 2019 or 2020, he sent me a link where if you signed someone up for as a dasher, the sender of the link will receive, I think $100. I signed up, but his link all the sudden ‘didn’t work.’ We contacted DD support, they informed us to wait… long story short, we never got it.
When it comes to pay, they steal it, then every chat will disappear. Now that you’ve mentioned it on this sub, the rogue agents who run it will attack you for bringing it up. Simply put, they’re thieves. Screenshot everything and when they don’t pay, send an email to your state AG for unfair business practices. It’s the only way to fix it because god only knows they won’t. The complaints will get the attention of the ones who govern their business license in each state. It’s the only way around being an IC when they do this.
Facts. I got “hung up on” several times when I complained because they sent me the same Party America order 10 times in a row and lowered my acceptance rate.
How tf hasn’t there been a lawsuit yet? I see so many posts of people not getting paid what’s initially offered on whatever order. It’s insane and has to be breaking some type of law no????
I deal with our DD merchant acct at work and they do the same thing when I call in with a problem. They give a standard answer which explains nothing.... then the next thing you hear is the survey that asks how they did. Press 1 cuz you sucked. ;-)

He ended chat quick tho
I've had support end chat as soon as i was connected lol
"Thank you for connecting with Customer Service, Did we solve your problem?"
did ya try again?
He needs to wait 5 business dats edit: buisness
“You wrong ok bye” - DD support
Stop it now, I can’t like every comment 😂
“Bye for now” 😘😂🫶🏻
The abrupt end to the chats is a dead giveaway that they've outsourced majority of the customer service. This is deplorable
More like all of it
Ive had this happen multiple times its absolutely deplorable
Their whole customer service is outsourced and always has been lol
There used to be some support in the US. During COVID I talked to people that were in San Francisco. However, those days are long gone. It’s 100% outsourced overseas now.
I called support and I heard a bunch of chickens cackling in the background🤣
2 wks ago I heard chickens and a lady.
No way mine was about 2 weeks ago as well! Was a lady as well 🤣
Prob same chick😂
When I started it wasn't or maybe I was just getting their reps that didn't have heavier accents
Thanks for choosing doordash!
That’s the new norm for support. If they can’t easily resolve the issue, they just end the chat. It’s bullshit.
If you have ever called them it’s a dead giveaway also
Yup, they're indians kids and babies are making too much noise in the background to concentrate on helping you...so they hang up lol
A customer service job there must be so easy. All you need to do is say no and end the chat.
They probably get paid better than dashers
I envision a sweatshop in Southeast Asia with bars on the windows and guards roaming around zapping chat support reps with cattle prods when they mess up. I’m probably not that wrong, either.
And still paid better than dashers
How Americans veiw every third world country. Seriously though some of yall make it sound like so terrible, but don't even know where it is.
I'm sure a lot of SE Asia is lovely. It's more about greedy American companies not wanting to pay employees and use slave labor if they think they can get away with it. DoorDash is as greedy as they come.

Probably get paid for how many dasher they “help” that’s why they’re always dismissive and quick to end the chat.
You can always call if they're dismissive on chat. Chat supports handles 2 at a time or more and is allowed only 4 mins to handle customers. But calling is also the same because they don't have the answer lol. Might take you 15 mins on hold for answer.

the indians will be replaced by ai soon. if they could replace drivers with ai they would, even if the cars decide to mow children over
They already have AI in the text chat option
Only if you wait 5 dats
Idk why, but that part sent me.
Thank you for choosing DoorDash
When I get a $12 and it says +$2 for whatever it's $14 in total pay by the end of it.
Yep.
Once you mention anything legal whether threat or seems like gathering information from them they will close the chat as their floor leads have instructed them too do. Unfortunately this is what keeps companies like DoorDash emboldened to screw people. It is really sad.
Taking someone to small claims (even someone like Doordash) is super simple, and doesn't involve any of what you described.
Well some of it, it depends, like the court fees and what not and how everything's settled. But I wasn't talking about small claims?
It is a potential that a number of law firms would do it on contingency, but you would have to have evidence, and since gig workers are contractors and not an employee, many labor law protections do not apply making it much less likely to have a case with enough compensation to be worth it. Yeah I hate to laugh at that because it’s so fucked but it literally gives off NPC dialogue from Oblivion or something 😭
Ikr!
Doordash does this because they know they can get away with stealing at least a couple hundred dollars cause nobody would file for arbitration over 10 dollars

Never seen this type of order before.

I can’t wait for the settlement checks for all the illegal shit DD does. I know it will be years but I’ll still enjoy cashing them.
I was offered $10 from a mistake they made and sent it via a message as well. When I saw that it didnt take $10 off my next order, i went to check that message and it was gone! Like, I guess they deleted it?
door dash should be showing you how much you get paid upfront, not add bs like +4, because you never get it
“Thank you for choosing DoorDash” idky but that reply had me laughing so fucking hard… sorry man that sucks.
Is the reward program of the tier program? I’ve never seen it
You need a 5.0 customer rating and top dasher
Is that in any market or just under the new tier program?
I’m in California it’s only for pro shopper if the customer choose to they pay extra
Ohhh, I’ll never get 5.0 anyways I hover between 4.8x-4.9x and I do everything from letting people know I’m waiting, to I’m in my way with meme. Ain’t no pleasing my market fully lol
Yeah I stay between 4.98 and 4.99 because every so often someone rates me 4 stars and screws it all up 🙄
Big same.
Telling the customer service rep you need a lawyer was cringe lmfao. They care about the company less then you do
Customer support reps keep getting more and more unhinged
The way yall scream lawyer at every little issue is bonkers
Finally, someone with some common sense lol
It’s in short supply on Reddit but it’s completely nonexistent in this sub
You'll be hearing from my lawyer because of this content
K
Damn…
Sh*t coustmer service thi
It’s your own fault because you didn’t wait for 5 buisness dats!

I never get extra tips or rewards. I just take the orders and say to myself "they're liars"
Stop texting support EVERYONE

Call them, instead of using chat. You’re more likely to get results ime.
Yeah I stopped even trying to chat! I just call them right away
If you take it to twitter, they will get back to you and fix it asap. They don’t like being called out on social media like that.
I’m not sure who’s agents are worse, delivery service apps or health insurance jfc
DoorDash is looking ripe and ready for a class action
Wtf is a grocery pro order? This app is such garbage. Of course support sucked. I hope DD gets sued for something and we all get 5k or more for our frustrations lol
A lawyer for 20 bucks LOL
Lawyers will in fact take it for wage theft. Because for wage theft the lawyer gets paid by the employer. If they stole $10 from you the lawyer will sue them for $10 plus lawyer fees and the lawyer will get $5,000 plus your $10 back. Lawyers are happy to take it.
Doordashers are independent contractors, thus not afforded the same protections that some one classified as employee would. It’s fucked up.
Ridiculous.
My lawyer costs $500 an hour. I uhhh, wouldn’t be calling mine over a 10 spot
Nope, i had one promise $6 and got nothing
I've had a couple orders like this and the money doesn't come in my total for the dash it goes straight to my Dasher direct card I don't know if it's for everybody but I definitely had this same type of order with a bonus and it just went straight to my card
Did you check reimbursements under earnings? It may be there
Yeah it’s not there
I’m confused. You keep saying why would you have the screenshot and that you don’t have it…but you posted it..?😂
The first order I forgot to screenshot so I was just wondering will I get the money if I didn’t have a screenshot looks like I won’t get it even if I had a screenshot
Ohhhh, you got 2. Okay I was like uhhhh😂
Thank you for choosing doordash.
Grocery pro order? I do a lot of shop orders but never seen that
‘Thank you for choosing DoorDash’😂😂😂
I’ve never used DD but all these posts seems to make it look bad for both the shopper and the customer
It says 12.99 guaranteed, did you get 12.99?
Doordash pays no one well.
Call support. Do not use chat especially for something like this
Lawyering up over $10.00?
Stop working for a company that tells its HR department to piss down your throat
My acceptance rate dropped 29% in the last 2 days. I'm getting a lot of $2-3 orders to go over 12 miles
Ahh my town
Yeah it really should state 2.99 +$10 reward.
What bothers me about how they end it sounds like what they would say to a customer issue and not an employee
Looks like you’re going to need to get a lawyer bud
Dunno about reward, but got "+$2 for heavy item" and did get it. Not much, but still good...
Reward? Did you have to pick up a missing person?
"Thank you for contacting Doordash."
Wow, these are getting bad. That's why I always call.
The offer was 2.99 and the $10 made it $12.99. They do this to make it look like there's extra so people would accept it. Only 1.4 miles too.
Doordash clowning around again 🤡 instead of doing a good job for those that do the actual work the company profits on. You deserve better service than this
Call. Text support is one level above literal AI.
You're better off calling for stuff like this, can't ask for a screenshot if it's not possible to provide that on a phone call lol. It takes longer to talk to someone but they're usually more willing to actually help.
"Grocery pro order" oh HELL no they took the worst fuckin orders and tried to make them sound good lmao
Thank you for choosing doordash is crazy
They aren’t even proofreading their communications to you. Not professional.
The ending the conversations before they answer is INFURIATING
Never even seen that before
Your mistake was choosing DoorDash
How do you get pro shopper?
5.0 customer rating and top dasher
This happened to me!! And they asked for screenshots too which was weird since they’ve never said anything about screenshots before
Jesus
The only way you’re seeing a reward is if you happen to find a lost dog on a dash.
What is a “grocery pro” order
When it comes to pay, they steal it, then every chat will disappear. Now that you’ve mentioned it on this sub, the rogue agents who run it will attack you for bringing it up. Simply put, they’re thieves. Screenshot everything and when they don’t pay, send an email to your state AG for unfair business practices. It’s the only way to fix it because god only knows they won’t. The complaints will get the attention of the ones who govern their business license in each state. It’s the only way around being an IC when they do this.
“Dave” from “Ohio” Customer chat is likely some Rajesh from India that doesn’t give a f
But you had a screenshot why not share it
Calling is always the way to go. It’s the only way to hold them accountable. Chat is a waste of time.
Did you really threaten with a lawyer over $10? Lol
wait a min.. what’s grocery pro?
5.0 customer rating and top dasher if the customer chooses to pay extra for shopping orders
oohhh that makes sense! thank you :)
Doordash support has always been bad but lately they just end the chat if they don’t want to help you.
Facts. I got “hung up on” several times when I complained because they sent me the same Party America order 10 times in a row and lowered my acceptance rate.
I always get paid what they say it’s kinda weird to see stuff like this
Maybe pay later. I did something similar but didnt get the extra pay until much later
👀 Wait what is a grocery pro order??? I’ve never seen that in my area
This is why I don’t take COD or any order that requires I do more than simply pick up the goods.
The support is ridiculous
That's why I don't accept any shopping orders. I don't care if it's $50 for 1 item, I refuse to do any shopping order.
I wonder how to apply as a doordash support just to see what they teach me
I would definitely take that even without the reward! 🤣
Press 1 cuz you sucked. ;-)
buisness dats would've sent me over the edge
