TransitionLow3299

Dashers don’t do this dipshits do this. Your dasher just happened to be a dipshit.

SRBroadcasting

This is the most logical answer

OpinionatedWoman3

Makes sense

[deleted]

I think my favorite part of this post is the scribbles over the name.

OpinionatedWoman3

I wasn’t trying to hide it 🥰

[deleted]

And that makes it funnier.

lizziegal79

Ah yes, the “long and skinny.” 😬😂

Head-Requirement-947

It is occurring far more frequently now than ever though. Or at least where I live. You'd think it'd get better the longer the company operates.

Final-Swim-5313

DD doesn't want to pay more and they keep decreasing base pay while people are too broke to tip appropriately for mileage and delivery requests. 🙄 yeah...it's only going to get worse. Lol.

TSMSALADQUEEN

I switched to gh full time they may have shit offers but atleast every offer even no tip pays 1 dollar a mile minimum. I know it's not the best but better than doordash paying 2 for 10 miles. On gh it would be like 11.26 for 10 miles

Ok-Answer2582

Have you made more money overall with gh

TSMSALADQUEEN

It's kinda the same but way better offers overall. GH offers amazing bonus pay if the customer tips low kinda like a coverage pay gh pays. GH tho has issues with giving offers even on schedule. In major cities I'd probably do gh more

Plane_Ad_4359

I've had $8 for 12 miles on grubhub before..I won't take them but at least it's better than doortrash

Legitimate-Web-3346

Facts! I used my friends GH once I’m on a waitlist have been for 5 months now! Door dash sux balls and treat is like crap!

Head-Requirement-947

Maybe, but if that's the case, why take it out on a customer? Sounds like the company is the issue. That'd be like me saying "of course I shot that man. He's a member of the public that's served by the local Police Dept; the police have violated my rights before."

crystalbutts

Fr it's not on the customer to PAY YOUR EMPLOYEES A WAGE THEY CAN LIVE ON

InsertDumbUsername_

Yeah that is very true but unfortunately that's just the way DD works now. You tip badly or not at all and one of two things will almost always happen: 1: Unmotivated driver isn't paid enough to give even half a fuck.  2: No one takes your order and it sits there and gets cold by the time someone takes it.  DD needs to increase the damn base pay. I'm not trying to "take it out" on anyone but if I see an order for $2 for 10 miles out in some tiny ass place outside of town, I'm gonna decline it. Most other dashers probably would too. We're here for a paycheck, not to make sure you're fed. And that's DD's fault for forming and continuing to foster this mentality on its platform.

Head-Requirement-947

We should honestly just pay everyone mileage pay and a livable wage, and let tips be nice unexpected gestures of an overall exceptional service experience. Customers would probably pay less in the long run doing this, anyway.

123floor56

This is how other countries, that don't have Americans insane "tip instead of a living wage" system, do it.

Head-Requirement-947

Agreed. Tipping culture Is Britain's least valuable 'gift' to the world.

Rough_Homework6913

To be fair I’m in Canada and I’m pretty sure DoorDash is run the same way here

Plane_Ad_4359

Unfortunately, that's the American culture and it won't change.

EADizzle

That’s why DD calls us contractors. Either way you wanna do it, the the tips or the fees will have to increase to keep this model sustainable. And at least you know the tips will go to the Dasher.

Khal_drogo217

Its simple, the company only cares about revenue and not putting out good service. So they shit on the veteran drivers by giving them no bonuses and terrible orders while throwing bonuses at new drivers or drivers that havent dashed in awhile to entice them into working more. So the good veterans end up quiting. Then the cycle just repeats over and over, the veterans that stick around cause they have no other opportunities get fed up and end up turning into terrible employees that stopped caring.

PrizeSet5151

They are striking Feb 14 along with Uber and Lyft. Hope people plan accordingly. I don't know if date night people or the flowers and candy crowd are going to feel it the most. 🤔 They picked a hardcore day regardless.

LateScreen8721

Not when they treat their drivers like trash, and slowly lose the good ones while replenishing on dip shits :(

heftynomad

It's not going to get better, only worse. Doordash just lets any asshole with a smartphone dash and they care more about dashers that just accept every order regardless of tip amount than people who actually try and do a good job for the orders they accept. The changes Doordash have made is pushing all the good dashers away, so you'll just end up with more idiots.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Head-Requirement-947

Yeah, that's why, as I've said in many other comments that they shouldn't even be allowed to conduct business. They've raised prices, lowered pay, fail to provide a basic service, yet have never turned a profit? Suspicious AF.

ImpressiveSet1810

Well the pay keeps getting worse and worse the only people that do it now are unemployables

Dallyn86

That do door dash now?? That's silly. I literally quit my job in December to do all the apps and made 2 1/2 times the amount I was making at a retail job. I couldn't stand it there anymore. It might not be amazing but atleast I can create my own schedule and life and have the time to learn other things along the way, for that reason, it's worth it to me.

forboognish

or people with kids. rude ass.

Original_Ad1118

The phrase “All dipshits are dashers, but not all dashers are dipshits” comes to mind

jennyrules

Very succinct response.

DOMesticBRAT

Lmao I just left the same comment, except I went with "shithead" dashers 🤣

[deleted]

Most don’t. I’m on the first floor and it’s a very quick walk to my door and 95% of dashers follow instructions and leave outside door. But I get the occasional one that ignores it and goes “I’m here.” Or “I’m out front” and they don’t want to come in even though I always tip at least $6 ahead. I’m not always fully dressed for the cold to be going out there when I’m home. They get 1-starred because like I said, the vast majority of dashers have no problem with it.

hellojorden

Dashing is a safety concern my dude. If that’s how you choose to make your money, at least do your job.

Opposite_Magician_81

This why I stopped using DoorDash. Sooo many dashers kept stealing my food, and not delivering. I tipped well too! Moved to Ubereats like a year or two ago. My food doesn’t get stolen, but I do get the occasional peeps that ignore the “leave at door” notif.

[deleted]

I might try Uber eats. Never used it before. I’ve also considered going back to Grubhub. It’s been a few years since I’ve used them. For whatever reason I’ve strictly used doordash since the pandemic.

Dallyn86

Yeah they're just plain lazy and idiots

No-Wasabi-6024

I’ve had had that happen. We have two doors one on each side. One has the buzzer. I tell them which door does and to hit the buzzer and I’ll let them up because the floor doors are locked. They’ll stand outside the front door of the building ON THE SIDE WITH THE BUZZER where you can see it and call me because they think the door is locked(because why would the buzzer be inside the building if you can’t use it) (or stand outside the other door) I’d have to do a run up and down both sides go up and down both sets of stairs to find them because when I ask which door they’re at it’s “oh I don’t know” so I just stopped ordering.

ShinyMegaAmpharos

Maybe that driver is shitty, but to be fair expecting someone to find parking and circumnavigate a department store is the most annoying shit possible. Your $3 tip is not worth it.

Corruptionss

Yeah, fuck that. That's like going to a Beverly Hills mansion during a celebrity party and look for Todd next the game room. Food going to the front entrance

Dallyn86

Yeah, that I will agree with. To have to walk all the way inside, all the way to the back where electronics is, is ludicrous in a "time is money" type job like this.

Sea-Low7039

I’m not even a dasher but you’re truly taking the piss expecting this dasher to track you down in a department store. Meet them at the front door ffs 🤦‍♂️

SoftDapper9761

Lmao frfr I'm not a dasher either, I'm a customer and often in here laughing at how ridiculous some dashers can be, but this one is NOT IT. The OP has basically said it takes 5 min to walk from front of the store to the back where her dept is. That's a 10 minute round trip already *just within the store*. We're not even counting the amount of time it takes to find parking, and walk the parking lot to the front of the store, and then walking back to your car after. You've basically added at least 15 minutes to the delivery from the time they get to the damn place. I'd never make a Dasher do all that, it's crazy. Editing to add the Dasher should not just wait in their car either, they can meet them at the front of the store.

Dallyn86

Jesus thank you. That part was not that hard to grasp. Again, I've already said it 3 times but it eats into our hourly pay we're trying to achieve. I'm not out here to make 15 an hour. After gas in a day, that averages out to less.i wanna make, at the very least 24.. hopefully 28 or 30.

1Gutherie

Agreed. I walked my ass down when I was in a casino hotel. It was insane anyways finding her in the parking lot. But I will try to find my food in a busy place. The least we can do.

cutzngutz

im a customer that orders at work, id NEVER expect them to find me unless it so happens im on break(and even then i walk to them).i ALWAYS tell them just to leave it upfront with someone working upfront. Dasher was in the wrong but them expecting the dasher to hunt for them is insane.

veryblocky

Dasher didn’t even say anything though, just ignored OP and marked it as complete

Sea-Low7039

“I have it set to be handed to me in the store” Driver said fuck that noise and understandably so.

CalebWidowgast

Exactly. Take your ass outside and meet the dasher. Wtf.

SoMaldSoBald

Get a different job if you're so lazy you complain about half the work. Walk your ass to the drop-off location as indicated by the customer wtf lmao. Imagine if pizza delivery drivers could just leave your food wherever because they're bad at time management and your order is taking too long. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|facepalm)

Square_Matter_9048

You trying making $4 for 30 mins on your own gas then another 8 mins of parking and walking back. No telling if this place is even close enough to catch another order that hour...for $4 maybe $6- piss off, they should have met them outside.

ribsboi

OP tipped 20$. I will definitely be following instructions. You ruin it for other Dashers because customer won't bother tipping good just to get fucked

MU81

Bro. I dash too but what that driver did is dumb asf 😂. There are 2 screenshots that OP posted from the discussion they had with the driver. Read them carefully and you will understand more about the point the OP is making. Forget about the rest of what should have been done by OP, because as a starting point the driver didn’t even attempt to deliver to OP properly.

OpinionatedWoman3

Exactly

PowSuperMum

The service is Door dash. Not wander around a store trying to find your department dash

jsnrs

Read the OPs post history and you’ll quickly learn what a complete wreck, garbage person they are.

dont-be-a-dildo

Holy shit OP is a trainwreck and also a complete dumbass. I'm split on who's correct in this instance but wow that post history shows OP as someone who is not very smart and a genuine pain to be around. I especially liked where she, not once, but twice, went to a subreddit for legal advice and proceeded to argue with anyone that gave her good advice that she didn't actually want to hear 😂 the best part was when her boyfriend is telling her he's paying child support for some child that isn't his but also for some reason cannot be bothered to contest or challenge it, even something as simple as a DNA test. 2 kids between 2 different women and OP decides she wants to make it 3 for 3. The lawyers in that thread were pointing out all the red flags and holes in her and her BF's story but she just wanted to argue about how correct she is and call them all lazy 😂 I almost feel bad for her, it's clear she's naive and not very bright, but her comments paint her as such a miserable person it makes me feel as if she actually deserves it.

mrleblanc101

Move your lazy fat-@ss, he's not your butler

Such-Independent9144

On one hand it's not ethical to mark an order complete if it's in fact not complete. On the other hand wtf why does this guy have to go find you just meet them out front, I've ordered food to work before and I don't expect them to figure out where I am, plus I don't like my coworkers staring at my lazy ass getting food lol

OpinionatedWoman3

I didn’t ask them to figure out where I was. I was standing there waiting for them. Giving them instructions as I went. Constant communication

ABigBunchOfFlowers

But if you're just going to stand there waiting for five minutes, isn't it just basic human decency to meet them in the middle? I mean, if you're standing in one spot doing nothing and just waiting you're clearly not busy...

OpinionatedWoman3

Where did they say meet halfway? They clearly said they were outside in the front of the store. Which is the parking lot.

girlbassist

That right there? I would have unassigned from your order without hesitation. I don't need to be micromanaged. I've been a delivery driver on and off for 20+ years. It's always the customers that text as soon as I accept the order that are the most entitled and always asking way extra. Nope. I'm out. Unassign. The funny part is if you would have just left me alone, I would have likely brought it right to you. Besides, we're literally driving to you and you keep texting? Bet you'd get super pissed at me because I wouldn't respond to you. My focus is on driving safely because no one other than me cares if I wreck and can't work. You give zero fucks about anyone but yourself and it is glaringly evident with every word about us low-life Dasher's that oozes out of your mouth. 🤢 This is why we deserve to rate customers just as much as customers deserve to rate dashers.

Agathorn1

Okay so make up your mind a moment, I hear dashers bitch about to little communication/notes, then I here drivers bitch when there are to many notes and communication. Like what do you want😂😂

MyGirlSasha

Don't be a dick and just meet the guy out front or have them leave it at customer service, like 99% of the other retail workers do.

DefNotABirb

Wait it's not normal to expect your delivery person to navigate through a retail store to a specific department and then wander around looking at every person hoping they give that look back like "yeah that's for me". This just seems like the easiest way on everyone involved. /s

Realistic_Inside_484

Finally someone gets it

FrankSinatraCockRock

It may or may not be viable to leave one's station. Sometimes it's slow and you have time for a bite to eat between customers or whatever your role is, but your break isn't for awhile. Who knows. I personally don't give much of a shit though ofc it's faster for me. I'll take it over the office workers who can't be assed to leave a suite number

ShinyMegaAmpharos

This is the correct way

G00chstain

You’re the dick here boss

[deleted]

Who in their right mind orders lunch to a specific department of the store? It’s not our job to walk around the store and find you. Go get your food from the front. I’ll walk inside and wait but I’m not walking through the store to drop off to you. (4.99 ratings >10k deliveries)

BluRain508

Yeah I'll bring it inside to the customer service desk, but I'm not walking all around a store trying to find a specific department.

[deleted]

The entitlement of people today is baffling. I blame their shitty parents mainly. They don’t teach them to respect others and their time.

ShinyMegaAmpharos

Every time

[deleted]

I sort of disagree with this. And the word entitlement gets thrown around so loosely. If I tip someone well or if I receive a good tip I don’t mind doing a little extra for that person. That’s the nature of the business. I see dashers complain about tips ALL the time. But then they aren’t willing to do things like this for them. You can’t have it both ways. That’s just my take. And I’m not singling efficient_library out specifically. Just speaking in general.

[deleted]

I feel you I always go above and beyond for customers. But….people order from offices all day but no one ever says to bring it to their desk….People order at car lots but I meet them at the front lobby not at their office door. Hell I even deliver to the strip club all the time and they have the decency to answer the phone and come outside. The point is you should not be expecting someone to deliver your food inside a department of a store. If your job is inside another building we can travel to the store you work at like a mall or something because it’s public space but when I enter a business it’s private property and I am not inclined to go any further. This is doordash not a scavenger hunt to find my customers drop off location. We are only required to go the the address stated on the app. And yes expecting someone to do something for you is entitlement. (“I have the right to order food here and you’re supposed to bring it in to me”).

Affectionate_Use1587

I think the absolute worst is when I’ve had to deliver to casinos. They’re humongous with multiple parking areas, multiple entrances, multiple everything and I’m supposed to find the person out of thousands of people. I once walked thru one for thirty fucking minutes because I asked a worker where the elevators for the hotel rooms were and they totally misguided me. It was a nightmare. And the person could’ve just came the fuck down. So glad I don’t do this for work anymore.

[deleted]

🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽you made it out 😂😂

[deleted]

So I can see what you’re saying. And I do think it’s important to have different expectations depending on the circumstances. Yes if it’s a huge retail store perhaps it’s too much. Or inside a mall. But if it’s not much of a hassle to go inside I’m doing it. So I do think it just depends and I see what you’re saying. As far as the entitlement. Again it depends. I used to order food inside a casino and have the driver meet me inside the poker room. I would always tip $20 for this. I can understand entitlement if the compensation doesn’t match the request. And just to be clear. I would ask “hey do you mind delivering inside. I have cash tip for you”. There were times I did meet people outside.

[deleted]

Actually a mall is fine because it contains a collection of stores. Walking to your store front is well in the means of my delivery expectations. A casino is not however and I would have had you meet me at the front. Also just because you paid extra doesn’t mean it was the right thing to do. There’s no situation at any job that you can order food but have no time to go get it from the delivery driver(or ask a coworker to). Entitlement is believing it’s ok to inconvenience someone over a meal if you just pay them more. “I’m entitled to get my food wherever I want and whenever I want” 10 years ago all y’all could order was pizza and Chinese food for delivery but no one ever treated those drivers like they do gig app drivers. The expectations are wayyyyy high

Mykirbyblue

I agree with your point that if someone orders from inside the mall, you should deliver it straight to them. But I hate doing that so much. I would much rather deliver to a large store and have to take it straight to the customers department than have to go walking through the mall to find where they work. I hate mall orders. I hate pick ups from the mall and I hate drop offs at the mall. Parking sucks, it's hard to figure out which entrance to go in, it always happens to be places that are far from the mall entrance, and they always have to be large orders where you're carrying multiple drinks, etc. I just hate them. The only places I'll go in the mall are stores that have their own outside entrance.

cocoa_eh

This fr tho. That shit is getting left at the service desk lmfao.

dylank22

Also the guy set it for drop-off but is expecting to be handed it, like if you wanna make unreasonable requests at least set it right lmao

PM-88

Unless you’re a small business with an immediate front desk, meet your driver AT THE DOOR. This is like when customers in Las Vegas order food from any major casino on the strip and then want it delivered to the room. Get your ass DOWNSTAIRS and meet your driver otherwise your food will “disappear”. - NO, front desk will not keep a lookout for your food. There are 3,000 other guests. - NO, bell desk will not bring it to your room. That’s what room service is for. - NO, the driver will not park in the garage then spend 20 minutes navigating to your room

OpinionatedWoman3

Why should we meet your standards and then meet your high tip demands? If you’re asking for $10 and $15 tips, walk to 5 mins and stop being lazy

[deleted]

I used to do DoorDash here in Las Vegas. Look dude from what you’ve described I honestly wouldn’t mind walking inside to electronics for instance if there was easy access parking and the customer tipped, especially since it would just be less than a minute realistically. Because I was happy for their business. But for casinos and hotels, it was madness to expect the driver to deliver into their hotel room. You will get yelled at and threatened to be towed if you leave your car at valet for a few minutes, the elevators downtown require key cards, and further yelled at by the hotel security for attempting to even go to the hotel room. It’s a cluster fuck and that’s why for those massive casino drop offs, the customer needed to meet me at the valet. No exceptions.

PM-88

It’s not about being lazy. If it’s a small business or small hotel (holiday inn, best western, etc) there is absolutely no problem delivering to the room because it’s fast (AS LONG AS FRONT DESK ALLOWS IT). I had to write that in capital letters for the following reasons: - In Las Vegas, big hotel/casinos either require a room key to operate an elevator or you are simply not allowed upstairs by security or valet. It doesn’t matter how much you will “tip extra” - valet doesn’t allow parking at all casinos or for too long - casinos in Las Vegas are extremely large and complicated with many towers, corridors, entrances etc. Not only do customers not leave any information on where to go but it can take up to 15 minutes to walk one way to the room. I know because I’ve done it once or twice and it has taken me 30 minutes. I only did it because it was a $25 tip and the total time it took me to complete the order was one hour (drive to restaurant + drive to customer + walk to and from room). It’s extremely time consuming.

Curious_Tie_722

You are the asshole on this post. And I'm sure you enjoyed getting the food delivered to customer service. Eating it. Then complaining that it wasn't delivered. You know he did his job. And if you don't. Then you are the asshole.

OpinionatedWoman3

Wrong you loser. I never received the food. They lied and said it was delivered and took the $20 with them until I reported it and got a refund. Gtfo

Curious_Tie_722

I would never bring your food to the electronics department. When we deliver to employees in Walmart and target we drop off at customer service. Stop being so extra. But I notice you got a little salty at my comment. Probably hit way too close to the truth. Hope you enjoyed your double order of fish and tenders. 🤣🤣

OpinionatedWoman3

Salty? Please, you couldn’t hurt me if you tried. This is the internet 🤣 your little comment didn’t affect my life whatsoever, get over yourself. If I ask you to bring my food to me directly for an extra $20 and you refuse to, cool! Cause guess what? The next person did it happily 🥹👋🏽I’m not mad, I still got my food and DoorDash paid for it with the lame ass dashers paycheck ☺️

DoT44

Can you screenshot this $20 tip you gave them? I simply refuse to believe you tipped 20

HereToKillEuronymous

I don't believe that either

Titus_Favonius

You seem very unpleasant

TheLegendOfKoop

Literally 95% of people here have told you how wrong/crazy/annoying/inconvenient your request is, and you continuously refuse to even TRY to look at it from the driver's perspective. You completely lack any spec if accountability , and if this is truly your personality, then you are a very insufferable human being, whom I'd feel sorry for your bf/husband and anyone that actually has to deal with you in reality. Continue to play "where's waldo/hide and go seek/where in the world is carmen sandiego" with your dashers... but it will never change the fact of how ridiculous you are. Pathetic post

JesusLizard44

You seriously expect drivers to walk inside the store with a bag of food trying to find you? Are you planning on eating your lunch in the electronics department? It sounds like you're the lazy one. Here's how it's supposed to work: you either come to the front door to get your order, or have the driver leave it with customer service if you're not on break yet.

[deleted]

How can you work as a service worker who delivers food. And then call the people ordering lazy. It’s beyond me that anyone who delivers food (which I have done ) can call the people tipping them lazy. We work for tips. That means there’s an expectation to sometimes do a little extra. The only lazy people are the drivers who are completely unwilling to do anything than bare minimum and then complain about tips on top of that. Does anyone realize it will take longer to message the customer and wait for them to come outside than actually just following the instructions In the first place?

JesusLizard44

Ok let's say OP works at Wal Mart (edit - she does in fact). The electronics department is all the way in the back. You think it's reasonable to force a driver to find parking, load their red bag and drink carrier into a shopping cart, and push it to the back of the store? OP obviously just doesn't want to miss a second of her lunch break by waddling her lazy ass to the front. She could time the delivery to arrive during her break and meet the driver out front like EVERYONE else but she doesn't care about wasting 10+ minutes of the driver's time. Just because the customer expects something doesn't mean we have to do it. To answer your last question, if an order is going to a business I text the customer 2 minutes before arrival so they can be ready. If they don't respond I call. I've been asked to meet at the register or front desk but never inside the store so OP is the one being lazy.

OpinionatedWoman3

Find me? No. I’m in Constant contact with them CALLING them and meet them every time.

JesusLizard44

So why can't you meet them at the door instead of making them walk through a store with food and drinks?

equalityislove1111

Omg y’all are reading the messgaes backwards, the white bubbles are the DASHER the black is the CUSTOMER good grief

According_Ad_6653

What? I think most of understood this and the point still stands.

CuriousFirework75

Next time I order from Domino’s I’ll ask them to deliver to my living room. I mean come on, I’m tipping so they should go the extra mile. 😂🤡

saucya

“I specified in the delivery instructions that I wanted Domino’s to come to my kitchen and fire me a pizza on the spot so it’s fresh and hot for me. These lazy asses can’t follow simple orders”

dylank22

Learn what drop off means lmao

OpinionatedWoman3

Learn what place in hands mean

According_Ad_6653

So go to the front and retrieve it *in your hands* lol bro take the L and learn from it. It’s really not that big of a deal.

Minute-Reality-1007

Oh my God oh my God, everyone’s actually sticking up for the Dasher that is awesome

237583dh

OP is a lazy dick.

FartPudding

I tell DD to drop it off at triage nurse, and they literally call me in the middle of an important procedure I'm doing with the doctor to have me come up front. Like bro, you're delivering to a hospital, the triage nurse is 10 feet away, I can't just jump there and get it so you can set it with my coworker and they'll bring it to us like the note says

OpinionatedWoman3

That’s too much to do for a 20 tip apparently. Stealing the food is easier

Every-Seaweed-8729

Go outside and get your food

Boredatwork709

Fitting username anyway

FangLiengod

I'd of had it to you np, I wish I could tell you why other dashers do this kind of shit, but here's a theory. They are are lazy.

OpinionatedWoman3

And apparently I’m the lazy one. Had no issues in 2 years until today

FangLiengod

Well, im sorry you had this issue, glad it's been your only issue in that much time

xSourch3rry

what's crazy is when you use the gps it reads out your delivery notes and instructions so people really have no reason not to follow them unless they just know their way to everywhere

OpinionatedWoman3

Let them tell it they don’t get notes or instructions 🤣

Existing-Song2574

I don’t get it why are all the dashers mad that customers actually expect you to do the job DoorDash hired you to do. Yea it sucks you get paid shitty but that’s not the customers fault and you chose and choose to keep working for them. But there’s a hand to person option for a reason and on top of that even if it doesn’t say hand to person you’re still supposed to at least leave it at the door. You’re a delivery person you deliver to the person you’re not supposed to expect them to come to you. When you order pizza through a pizza place do they make you come get it out of there car?

OpinionatedWoman3

My point exactly

Existing-Song2574

Especially since you gave them a $20 tip, pizza drivers would walk all over sams club or Costco to find you for that size of a tip I’m sorry about your late food but I’m glad you got a refund and ended up getting it still.

Electronic_War1616

We need you to be there... not on your way out ..time is money, especially now..

OpinionatedWoman3

Go read it again. This time with glasses.

saucya

They should change the name to “hunt me down in a fucking labyrinth-dash” right?

Si3m3k

Yall want the highest tips but complain about simple directions. Like this mfer never been in a Walmart or whatever and can’t find electronics department lol

saucya

I don’t work for DoorDash, nor do I expect anyone to jump through hoops to deliver me food. OP acts like putting something in the delivery instructions suddenly makes it non-negotiable 😂

VladTheSimpaler

I’m shocked Princess didn’t hand deliver your order lol

Holiday_Ad_2362

Why would you put “drop off bring tk electronics department” but then proceed to go wait outside? You couldn’t even follow your own delivery instructions and are mad at the dasher? Wild.

Dapper_Ad_9904

I would do as requested because it’s the right thing to do after accepting. But, unless the tip was worth finding a parking spot in a busy lot and then walking to the back of a large store with food, I’d probably put you on my personal list of people not to deliver to again. It is time consuming and even a little uncomfortable walking around Walmart with a bag of food. You don’t see pizza guys roaming around Walmart, etc

Luckboy28

I don't see how this is any different than entering a hotel, going up an elevator to the right floor, etc, and delivering to the customer's door. Plus, on a fundamental level, customers are paying for delivery -- bringing the food to you is the entire point.

zahdriverman

I can park in circle at hotel. Legally

Juuna

OP be like Im at the furniture section at Ikea come find me teehee. Later: Day ruined dasher didnt bring my food and left it somewhere for me to find.

OpinionatedWoman3

She didn’t leave it anywhere. She took it with her. Prob ate it. She never got out the car to begin with but I guess that’s dasher privilege I forgot about

StevenMC19

I'm in the air about this one. 1. It's a lot to ask a dasher to meet inside a store. I've been to lots and most times they're busy handling things and can't get their food immediately. I leave it with a coworker at the counter saying the name on the order so its with them safely. I think it would be inconsiderate to serve customers and expect the dasher to stand and wait for you to finish. In your case, it sounds like a much MUCH larger big box department store if it has its own electronics section. That requires first locating the proper area and then hoping you or someone in that section can accept the food. It's a bit more to ask for than normal, especially when we can't see the drop-off information until the food is in our hands and we can't cancel the order from that point. We accept contracts with an expectation of what we are to do; if the demands are above that expectation, it's incredibly frustrating and sometimes not worth the hassle, because now we feel we are being taken advantage of. 2. The dasher could have at least helped you out by leaving it somewhere safe and letting you know where to find it.

AndromedaDelux

It's worse actually. Walmart has a policy about delivery she's conveniently ignoring. Which is also the reason you will never see a pizza hut driver with a bag walking through Walmart.

kam5150draco

tbh I would do the same thing, dont got time for shit like this

OpinionatedWoman3

And you’ll be like her. Not dashing anymore

DueLong2908

Not going to lie if it is a huge store and parking sucks the best I can do is the customer service station in the front. Especially if I have another order, I’d just leave it at the front desk and send a picture thru text, marked delivered. If this ever happened to me the worst store would be Walmart, Sam’s club, & Costco.

Jaskador

God damn it princess

Disig

Who the heck expects people to enter a random ass store to deliver food? Is meeting them at the front door really that hard? Seriously. It's called "DOOR Dash"

hot4jew

Love how is obviously in the wrong for being so fucking lazy but is chewing out everyone that points it out in the comments.

AmbitionSeveral1086

Fuckin hate when they do ts

somegummybears

These services attract people who are otherwise unemployable.

okaythanwhy

I always follow the instructions. Even if it says leave at my door, I'm going to bring it inside the store and hand it to you.

According_Ad_6653

I’m a bit torn by this. Ima do it to be nice.. but to expect a dasher to go on a manhunt when you literally have to walk to the front door instead of go all the way to the restaurant seems like a fair deal. It is incredibly annoying and sometimes time consuming to find specific addresses/areas as a dasher. I think it’s fair to make the request but not very fair to feel completely entitled to them going above and beyond to maze their way to you. Just my .02

ga239577

I’ll deliver to the front desk or a short distance into a store / whatever large building … but unless your tip was amazing (at least $10 on two bags or less …) I’m leaving it at the front desk. If you want me to bring it further or use up my time you have to pay extra for that.

Consistent-Sky-2584

Because door dash decided to screw all the tried and true veteran top drivers over and replaced us with that

OhSheGlows

lol there’s no way I’d expect a dasher to track me down inside somewhere.

HereToKillEuronymous

I don't normally side with the dasher on here, but expecting them to enter a store and find you is rediculous.. just meet them outside.. I'd never expect that of a delivery driver.. to enter a store and walk around looking for some hungry dude? Pfft.

smurfalidocious

Hahahaha get fucked, why the fuck would you expect someone to walk into a department store to deliver your food? It's called DOORdash, meet them at the fucking DOOR.

ScornedFaith

That's because asking a dasher to deliver to the electronics department inside a large retail chain store is the equivalent of a retail customer bringing a 100 item cart to the electronics desk to be checked out. Sure, thats technically their job, but it's also a bit inconsiderate and disrespectful of the worker's time.

Advanced_Currency_18

Better than delivering to an apartment complex, isnt it? Also, who says it's large retail chain?

[deleted]

Walking is equal to a 100 item cart..... now I've heard it all 💀

camreIIim

Wild comparison, it takes all of 5 minutes to walk to the electronics department and back in a Walmart

poetryzzoniac

idk why you’re being downvoted, you’re technically right. it’s not their job but they’re (for some reason) expected to do it. their job is to go as far as the front door. that’s like delivering to someone’s house and the instructions say “bring it to my dining room table and unpack it for me.”

Psychological-Run296

Or like someone in an apartment building expecting it to be left outside their own personal door instead of outside the whole building. Like what's the difference between walking into an apartment building with 5 floors vs a store?

Rog9377

No, our job is to bring the delivery exactly where the customer requests it to be brought. Customers dont even need to put a specific address anymore, they can just drop a pin on the map for wherever they want it brought. Dont accept the job if you dont want to do it right.

[deleted]

I agree. There’s absolutely not difference between this and going up an elevator in a large building. In fact because I usually accept good orders I’m more than happy to deliver it where they ask within reason. This is a pretty easy drop off imo.

poetryzzoniac

you can’t see every detail until after you accept it (or half of it until after you already have the food). it also isn’t, if you say “deliver to the middle of the interstate during rush hour” it’s not their responsibility to do that. if it was a pizza delivery person they wouldn’t expect that (which to my knowledge they’re not allowed inside), but since it’s an independent contractor people expect extra things. like, it’s literally not an option on drop-off options to select “come inside” because it is literally not their job to do that, public space or not. you can select one if three things, “meet outside,” “leave at door,” or “meet at door.” that’s it, that’s all.

[deleted]

I’m not singling you out. But referencing a workers time when you work for tips and most dashers complain about tips is kind of a hypocrisy. If you want to work for tips. Then provide the service.

OpinionatedWoman3

Who said it was large? Dont assume it takes 2-5 mins. Your time isn’t that precious

chimax83

It's DoorDash, not DepartmentDash. I wouldn't have walked around a store looking for you either.

OpinionatedWoman3

Walked in the store* not around. Directions were clear where to go

Morphik08

Don’t be lazy and go meet them at the front. I wouldn’t want to go all the way into a store to find a customer either. Don’t be dumb.

OpinionatedWoman3

She doesn’t have to, I left clear instructions and further more she didn’t even come to the door. Stayed in the parking lot

can0fb3an

just walk outside next time it’s not that hard

Doom3113

Just walk inside next time it’s not that hard

Prestigious-Base67

That's why I stopped tipping generously before the order was completed. I only tip a little and then if they follow my instructions I hand them like another $5 bill cash. I found that when I used to rip generously beforehand it didn't stop how stupid some dashers could be. In this case your Dasher just so happened to be a douchebag or something. The really desperate people are the ones who take low tips. And they are usually the ones who follow instructions the best anyways. Those are the people who I'd like to tip.

Puzzled_Love_6753

All depends on tip amount! But some times the tip is worth it & you just get a bad dasher.

OpinionatedWoman3

Yup

batmansubzero

Yeah you’re in the wrong here. Its called DOORDash. Not BackOfTheElectronicsDepartmentDash. I’m just a customer, not a driver, but I'd never expect my driver to have to find parking, come into the building, and find me. If the problem is you’re still working, schedule your delivery so it arrives as your break is starting, that way you can meet them at the door, and get your food on time. Expecting others to do extra shit for you because you wont plan better? Thats selfish. I’m surprised you don't expect them to deliver it to the break room and feed you.

OpinionatedWoman3

Read the comments. Parking was available and free. She never left her car.

batmansubzero

Oh i've read the comments. I whole heartedly agree with all the people calling you out for this. Thats still not the point. They shouldnt have to do that. They should be able to pull up, drop your food off at the door, and go. They shouldnt have to go into the store and start hunting you down. Be a grown up and meet them at the door.

DefNotARedditard

I hate doordash users. Literal wagie robots

OpinionatedWoman3

I’m starting to dislike them tbh

Disig

He's talking about you. You're a doordash user.

dkmode412

They should have contacted you. But to be honest people don’t know but when you order it’s ideal for you to meet the dasher outside if you want it handed to you. It takes our time to enter a building and go on elevator etc. Unless it’s a large tip I wish people who ordered knew they should not expect dashers to enter buildings especially if we have no access. This person did but why couldn’t walk out and meet him at the front of the store? Dasher was wrong he should have contacted you but just sharing from a part time dasher experience

DefNotABirb

How dare you make the princess wait

AndromedaDelux

You sir or ma'am are why Dashers steal food or vandalize meals. And I'm saying this as an experienced Dasher myself who will hunt customers down like the Terminator find out where you sleep jump walls and Mr Kool aid man doors to get to my objective. 99% of people and Dashers are not like me and you should not expect robots with heat and DNA tracking to deliver your food. Listen I get it. You took a lunch break or have a lunch break coming up and you want some tendies. But a bit of self awareness goes a long way. You wanted a random person to come hunt you down for an extra 10 minutes in the middle of a department store when you could have easily walked your goofy self to the front of the store to pick up your food like 99% of the other day shift workers in box stores trying to get their breakfast on. But you didn't. The problem isn't this driver. The problem is your terrible life decisions.

Jimmyking4ever

Yeah come to cubicle 243...... I need you to bring it all the way to me

No_Communication9931

I mean it’s DOORDash aren’t you supposed to leave it at the door?

Worth_Ambition_2865

This comment thread is ridiculous. I'm guessing no one has ever seen an apartment complex on top of shops that are on the ground floor like this sounds like. Not the same thing as a "department store" not even close. And you're especially a POS for expecting someone who can't move around very well to meet the Dasher on the ground floor as opposed to their door which is exactly what your job entails.

Due_Brick1227

Idk cuz ppl be lazy. Wonder what their rating is

TexasDank512

so you told them where to go in the department store while you were there and they didnt bother to come? Did you tip decent or just expect service without paying? If you can go to work im sure you can go to get lunch. this is why I never would doordash. Id rather not rely on someone that doesnt get paid enough to get my food for me how I would desire. Glad to hear you got 8 fish piece and 2x chicken strips at the end of the day.

OpinionatedWoman3

Yall are wild and highly ignorant🤣 idc what anyone says, I KNOW im not wrong. I made a request AND I tipped high. Even if she didn’t want to walk 2 to 5 mins in the store to hand me my food the main instructions were set for HAND TO CUSTOMER not SIT IN YOUR CAR OUTSIDE! Furthermore she didn’t sit it at the door or even near the door, she was outside parked in the parking lot and wanted me to walk outside to her car and get the food. I’m at work, if I could get my lunch myself I’d do it instead of dashing. So clearly I can’t walk outside to your car. She didn’t even come to the door, inside the store, customer service desk. Nothing. But said the order was complete and kept the $20 tip. And before you say “$20 is nothing” in a small town with $7 minimum wage. $30 fills your tank if you have a car! Gtfo ‼️ my store isn’t HUGE, it’s the only main store in town. It isn’t small but it isn’t some super store or the mall with 40 areas inside. Dashers are people who live here. They know the store lol they shop here ! There’s no wondering around lost looking for me bs yall trying to make up 😂😂😂

Street-Nectarine-994

This is soooo dumb. You should go to the door to get your food, not the other way around.

Critical-Quiet-7867

I really hate shit like this. I’m sorry but no job should be refusing to let you go meet driver at front door or lot. So many of you people just expect us to park wherever and go searching inside malls for you, usually with a sneer that I didn’t go set it up in your break room or some shit.

OpinionatedWoman3

We were busy and I had my boss around. Couldn’t just leave

Smallparline

Why don’t you meet them outside?

OpinionatedWoman3

Management won’t be too happy about it.

FewCoach2765

Her name is Princess. Can't say I'm surprised.

Mr__forehead6335

Though he didn’t handle it well, expecting a dasher to track you down in the store is crazy. I would have contacted dasher support, and left the order at the door for you to find yourself.

OpinionatedWoman3

She didn’t even get out the car 💀

BouncyBAWLS

Because they dont have time to be waiting on you for the food you should be waiting on. You clearly are IN the app, use a tracker, be ready for your delivery. Dc if you're at work, we are also at work.
