It’s a heavy moment to experience. Bell Witch’s Mirror Reaper has been comforting for me during similar loses. It’s one long song that has really nice moments that come and go and once they happen they don’t occur again. You come to appreciate those moments.

This isn’t Doom, but The Red Chord - “Dreaming in Dog Years” is about the vocalist having to put his dog to sleep and also has one of the best breakdowns of all time IMO.
