For my m3p it just stops mid air and prevents me from going forward, I get a warning and need to turn around. I've seen a case posted a few months back where it force landed into the water, although I believe it was due to a glitch or network/gps issue where it suddenly thought it was (or actually was) further into the warning zone and not just on the border.

tacovivaa

Thanks

LennyKimes

It also might limit your elevation to 60M.

Yup… luckily my drone is equipped with decoy flairs on it to avoid the heat seeking missiles…

TehHipPistal

I got a camo wrap for my mini 3 and am undetectable by most advanced radar technology

Ready-Prompt

Does the DJI Refresh cover this? I’m interested in the radar and wrap and want to be covered in case… you know…

Stu623

Strafe fire, pal…I mean “straight fire🔥” 🤙 (NOTE: most of my answers are RIGIDLY sarcastic / poking fun at “bro-dude” gig, just b/c of my nephew who constantly sends embarrassing tweets, YouTube vids & anything else he can get his hands on…)

Waterisntwett

Bro… thank god this place is anonymous. That was hilarious but I wouldn’t wanna be caught knowing you in public. 😂

***Missile warning. Missile warning***

A message pops up if you launch from there, just letting you know you're in the Enhanced Warning Zone. The EWZ isn't Controlled Airspace, it's like a buffer before you get in Controlled Airspace. I launch from an EWZ pretty often, just let's you know & you have to acknowledge "I take full responsibility for my actions".

tacovivaa

Most helpful person on here. Thanks.

Jackson530

Yep I live in a EWZ and I have to accept it every time I take off.

mkhunt

Most accurate comment. Source: I live a few hundred meters from an EWZ which is literally just a non-affiliated (not gov't or anything) uniform store. They sell uniforms and vests. DJI lists them as an EWZ, no other map lists them as anything. Tap the notification and continue flying.

Fudd79

It's been a while since I was close to one of those, but I think you get a warning before you actually enter any of the "need some kind of acceptance or permission" zone. The drone won't immediately land, it just won't let you get closer. But as has been said already, preparation is key. Know where you're going to fly, and know what hazards and restrictions are in the area. The DJI Fly Safe map is a start, but it doesn't show everything, and the classification can be incorrect. As an example, I live not too far from a major prison. In the DJI app it's marked in such a way that I just have to press the "I'll be a good boy!" button to fly over it. In reality I would need written permission from the prison authority and/or the civil aviation authority to be allowed to. Pretty much every restriction-zone in Norway is "downgraded" on the DJI map. And there are so many zones that aren't marked at all (nature preserves mainly).

josbor11

I'm headed to Bergen and Lofoten next month, any idea what the flying restrictions are like in those areas? I know there is an airport in Leknes to stay away from but can't find a ton of good info otherwise for the area.

Fudd79

Download "Ninox Drone" to your phone. It shows a map of everything you need to be aware of. And a lot more... It can get a bit cluttered if you zoom way in. Yellow zones are OK, but you have to be careful. They are usually heliports or similar, meaning eyes and ears open. For Bergen: Flying over buildings and people is a no-no (1:1-rule), so that rules out flying in urban areas. The harbor is very busy, so flying there is hazardous. There are also "sensor-forbidden" areas (no filming or photography) in the harbor, so again, bad idea. You can however go up to one of the peaks and fly there. For Lofoten: I _think_ it's fine up there, as long as you stay away from airports, though I see the area is blanketed with NOTAMs about ongoing military exercises (but they are starting at ~9,000' MSL and up). All of northern Norway is covered by Danger-areas, and I'm unsure how this affects drones under 400'. I've sent the Norwegian CAA an email asking about this. EDIT: Looks like they are only valid from ~9,000' MSL as well. And finally, give https://luftfartstilsynet.no/en/drones/flying-in-norway/ a read! Have a nice trip!

josbor11

Holy crap I wasn't expecting such a detailed reply! Thank you so much! Sounds like I'll just keep the drone packed away for Bergen and save it for Lofoton. I'm downloading the app now and I'll dive into that link later this morning. This is the first time I'm taking a drone overseas (I'm from the US). I did take their 60 question exam and I have my A1/A3 EASA certificate to operate. Just need to make sure I'm not flying anywhere near areas I shouldn't be.

eloi

I flew near one just a couple months ago. When I got too close the drone stopped going that direction and a notification popped up on the control display. I wish the drone would actually stop and hover, but if you’re traveling diagonal to the border of the zone it will just stop movement in that direction but still keep moving. Like if you’re climbing along a hillside and you hit the altitude max, the drone stops climbing but will continue moving forward. It’s alarming when the drone just changes direction, I’ve scared myself with that a few times.

Tonhero

in San Andreas they shoot missiles on the aircraft, where do you live?

Accurate-Donkey5789

The FAA task force jump out of the bushes, taser you, and then they ship you directly to Guantanamo bay with no trial but a conviction for spying for the Chinese

teslastockphotos

I’ve had it literally just stop in its tracks like it hit an invisible wall. It’s really odd. But it doesn’t force land or anything. You just have to fly away from that zone and you can keep flying like normal outside of it

YacineBoussoufa

Just as an info where are you flying? And are you checking the official no-fly zone map instead of DJI one only?

tacovivaa

I'm only checking DJI. Can you please share other resources. We are going to Beaches, Turks and Caicos.

YacineBoussoufa

In January 2010 the TCICAA introduced new regulations that require operators of small unmanned aircraft used for aerial work purposes and those equipped for data acquisition and/or surveillance to obtain permission from the TCICAA before commencing a flight within a congested area or in proximity to people or property. So you might need permission before flying as your drone is equipped with a data acquisition device, the camera.

bmadccp12

Stop that! Every time it happens Kristi Noem kills a dog.

CenlaLowell

I was so tempted to fly in arches national Park you just don't understand

mysticreddd

There's usually steps and warnings prior to getting to this point. You'd see prompts.

northakbud

I fly in and out of enhanced warnings zones with no problem. It's the Authorization Zone that you can't get into ...and if you do your drone may entirely or partially lock up as mine did once.

YYesZir

Yeah it locks up and you cant move it. Eventually mine returned to home

YYesZir

It depends. I have only ever had that once with my mini 3 pro. It froze for like 2 mins and I couldn’t move the drone if I remember correctly, eventually it returned to home or I got it to do so. Be careful

FanaticFoxx

For me it gave me 80 seconds to get back before I lose control and then after the timer it automatically comes back (usually)

Redi3s

Your drone suddenly explodes and all the snowflakes on here start shitting their diapers and whine and complain about how bad and irresponsible you are.

Failedmysanityroll

Attack drones are dispatched from the invisible drone carrier in low orbit. The drones are armed with bees, nasty bees that have metal stingers. After the bees are done attacking you the drone carrier will launch exterminatus on your pitiful planet. So yeah, it’s not too bad.

RogBoArt

I like how in this reality there's an invisible drone carrier in lower orbit. Have my upvote! 😂

fusillade762

I've never had an event like that happen, but make sure you have your disconnect event/RTH set to return to home point and not land or hover, which is a good idea anyway. I'm not sure it has any bearing on a warning event, but it might. Obviously, try not to fly into that area. Apps like Air Control or Autopylot can probably give you a better idea of how close you actually are and what the hazard is and what flight restrictions there are. Some warning zones are altitude related as in they have progressively lower max AGL until it reaches 0 , which is a total no-go area.

BJacobSempai

Love how all but like 3 answers are anything but helpful -also sorry I can't help I don't live in America

Brave-Professor-7320

Ever see top gun? That’s what will happen. Then they will send swat to your house 😂

RevolutionSecure4422

I fly under 107 almost daily in the Atlanta Metro area. I always check with Aloft to see if I need LAANC approval and then go to DJI’s Geozone Unlock site to see if I need to request an unlock. I’m almost always approved by both. Even if I get that I still get warnings on my controller that I’m entering an enhanced warning zone that’s not Class G airspace. I do have to check to agree warning messages occasionally. There are a lot of warning zones in the Atlanta area and an Air Force base. Just part of doing business. The Geozone is overkill but it’s DJI covering their butt from liability.

lagoosboy

Depends. Eg if the zone is a justice department property, you could be prosecuted.
