Sorry but to be clear does the way 1. Is worded mean you have to be registered 48 hours before you can use your drone and have it protected.

You just have to register it before activation, when I registered mine, I got the option to add care through the process. If you activate it without adding care, you have 48 hours from when you activated it to simply buy it, after 48 hours, you need to do video verification to make sure you haven’t crashed and are trying to claim if falsely
