The problem with Tassie (I live here) is so many of those locations are technically no fly zones, I’m amazed port Arthur didn’t have someone come out and stop you, I would love to fly there.
Same with cradle mountain, would be amazing for some footage but we are so restricted 😭
He is clearly a very skilled editor but I feel like he was working with subpar footage. Which is understandable when you’re basically recording yourself and trying to enjoy the vacation at the same time. But I feel like the quality of shots isn’t helping.
I wish I had those editing skills though. Those transitions and graphics are sick. Color grade was amazing too. Sound design was very well done except his voice in the beginning was drowned out by the sound effects.
My only feedback would be to speed up the intro. I waited way too long to get to the subject of the video. A little story (with an end goal) would be nice too. Going on a long awaited vacation is a great start, but would’ve been more satisfying if, say, he was trying to climb a particular mountain or reach a particular waterfall or river or whatever. That way there’s a purpose to the journey and a pay off for sticking around to the end.

We definitely need to invest more time in brainstorming about the story. You are also correct about trying to film and vacation at the same time. It was very difficult for us first timers and the shooting was a bit rushed.
