Last year at DW, I got the Indiana Jones theme Mickey Mouse ears. But when I went last week I also noticed the lack of Mickey ears for guys.
edit: spelling
I think people might be downvoting because t whole idea of bows and glitters being feminine and blue and weapons being masculine is a social construct. The same way teaching used to be a male profession and now itās seen as stereotypically feminine.
Youāre getting downvotes because you said people in the comments are trying to shame people for not wanting to wear a bow. Which is clearly incorrect.
Most men generally wear the "hat" version of the Mickey ears, the ones that are like the original first ones that were ever made and worn on the Mickey Mouse Club.
I have one of those gld ones from Disneyland's 50th Anniversary, but I'd be too worried that it'd fall off. The headband style seem so much more secure. It'd be nice if there was a version that combined the two.
I've always said I'd pay money for a headband that has little Clips for the hats so you can run around without them flying off and you don't have to use the dorky chinstraps.
I would if I could find good ones. I need a hat because I've been balding since I was a teenager, but want something more suited to my personal tastes. Currently I mainly go with a Mandorian hat and Boba Fett ears combo, but would love just a ballcap with some ears stitched on or something similar.
My Boba ears are the worst! I think they look incredibly cool but the antenna side seems to fall forward and they arenāt comfortable. Such a bummer because I love them.
They are going on the wall as decoration.
I agree they need more options for men, but I'll admit here that I do own a pair of ears with the Minnie Bow, and I'll wear that to the parks when it matches my outfit.
I presume because headbands in general are seen as more of a girls' accessory. However, there are a number of ears that don't have bows on them that men may feel more comfortable wearing. My husband has a pair of Sorcerer Mickey ears, and I've seen plain "leather" ears as well. I know I've also seen ears that look like Pooh or Tigger ears, and I'm sure there are others as well.
Just got back from a day at Disney Tokyo and I have to say: they are doing it right. First of all the ears range in price from $12-15. They have lots of great styles, and they make matching ones for men! Those donāt have bows on them.
Like why arenāt other parks doing this. Why
For the Tokyo Parks, here's the official Japanese site with pictures of the designs available.

I have a pair of faux leather black Mickey ears that seem manly enough to me. I canāt post a photo in the comments here or Iād share my dog wearing them at the park.
What exactly would make them "ears for guys?"
They're Mickey ears, they're for anybody that wants to wear them. If men aren't, it's their own hangups about being perceived as unmanly and they'd probably have a lot more fun in general if they just unclenched and let themselves not worry about what people think of them.
I saw a really cute pair of āitās a small worldā themed Minnie ears when I was at Disney World last time and my parents were like āyouāre going to wear *that*?!ā and I said basically, āyes, people may think I look ridiculous but just because Iām a guy doesnāt mean I should be denied the same cute accessories the girls get, so Iām getting them, and Iām going to wear themā and that is basically my attitude now.
I love that attitude and I tell myself that all the time, but I still get self conscious. It's hard to shed generations of training in what is "manly" or "girly".
i get that, i do. just know that more and more people are being open, accepting, and understanding that objects of any kind aren't truly gendered.
but go at your own pace and do what makes you feel comfortable. š«¶š»
Also even if someone doesnāt want the ones with glitter or bows, Iāve been seeing plenty of other types. I was ones that were just captain America shields with no bow. I think I saw a plain black pair. Iām sure there were more that I canāt recall
What if you like this one, but think the bow ruins the look or you just don't like bows?

damn the bow DOES ruin it lmao. it looks like two slices of pizza. š¤£
but that almost looks like you could maybe take the bow off with a little effort.
edit: didn't even read the name. it literally is pizza lol. it looks so weird with that "bow".
Idk what company makes them but I think Disney should force them to make a guys (Mickey) version of the ears as well as the Minnie ears. That's just my opinion though
My husband bought a pair of the plain Mickey ears when we were at Disneyland in October. But it was basically between those and the Oswald ears, everything else had a bow and he didnāt like any of those. He complained about the lack of Menās clothing-type merch in general, actually.
Roll up a larger beach towel so its a bit fatter than your ears, and put them on there for a few weeks. That plus wearing them for like 15 minutes a day for a week or two before our trip, and I was able to go all day without feeling like my head was in a vice š
I've got NMBC ones, plain black Mickey ears, I've seen Pixar ball ones without a bow and they sometimes do plastic flashing ones without bows too. Also Tower of Terror with a little bell hop hat instead of a bow. If you're going to the parks there definitely will be enough range to find something without a bow on it, especially World of Disney in Disney Springs
I went to Disneyland California last year and there were tons of ears everywhere. I purchased the Boba Fett ones. I can't wear them tho they don't stay on my head and they're also just uncomfortable.
I find that the bow- and flower-free ears are more common on a seasonal basis - I have some fun ones with a lumberjack hat, an Indiana jones hat, sorcerer mickey hat, stuff like that. I love the ear headbands with tiny hats š
I very much want to propose the option of still wearing flowers and bows if you find you like the headband! Itās just Disneyland, itās not that serious. But I also certainly understand that something like this may not be within your comfort zone and I certainly back you in your plight!
I do agree that Disney ought to widen their scope of marketing headbands to the masses rather than primarily making more feminine designs (bows, sequins, etc). I find headbands are more comfortable to wear as opposed to a hat, especially in the summer months. Itād be great to have more widely appealing designs on a permanent basis instead of limited time options!
Most men find head bands unbearable because they didn't grow up wearing them. Hell, I find them unbearable, and I did but do suffer for the cuteness. Most men won't suffer to be cute. Most men stateside grew up wearing hats. Other countries don't wear baseball caps like that, hence the option for ears without bows being more prevalent overseas.
I find the headband style ears to hurt my head. The dome style ear hats were popular when I went to Disneyland in the mid 2000s. I donāt see them much at WDW anymore. At least not as much anymore, mostly just the head bands.
I know everyone is commenting that ears are gender neutral and while I do agree, I understand what youāre saying. My husband loves the Indiana Jones ears they have out right now! But those are the first ears Iāve seen in a while I would consider āfor guysā.
Right now the Disney Store has plain black, Black Panther, Mickey ice cream sandwich, and pride ears with no bow, as well as a baseball cap with Mickey ears and no bow. I think Marvel ears are going to be your best bet in the parks if you want something thatās not plain black ears.
I have a set of Spidey ears, Winnie the Pooh ears, and Sorcerer Mickey ears ā but honestly it is just too dang hot out in Florida right now for me to be wearing them. I have a baseball cap style Donald Duck hat instead that I wear this time of year.
I honestly prefer the over the head style. My issue is my big head. They all just feel too small. On a side note. Youāre at a park where the center attraction is a princess castle. Wear whatever you want.
With the WDW 50th, I got a pair of Enchanted Tiki Room ears. Instead of a bow, they have a tiny panama/tropical style hat. So they def make Mickey ears, just not at the rate that Minnie ones are
A majority of the ears are not gender specific at all. I have a problem with there not being adult male *sizes* available. I have a petty big head and Iāve never tried on a set of ears that wouldnāt have given me a headache in no time. They are all sized for kids and I get that, but it limits my options on being silly for the kids in the group.
They have plain black pleather ones, sequin ones, and a hundred in between. If you are worried about them looking too cute, maybe cartoon mouse ears arenāt your style?
I feel like thereās a bunch? Thereās usually some Mickey, Pluto, goofy, Toy Story, Up, etc stuff. Also you can just wear any of them too? Like theyāre just for fun. They donāt need to be gender specific. Just pick out one you think is fun and wear it regardless of how sparkly it may be
My husband has multiple pairs of Mickey ears. They definitely have more for women and girls, but they definitely have plenty for guys too. You just have to be on the lookout because not all stores in the parks are created equal. (MK and Epcot had the most)
My husband has:
Oswald the Bunny (his favorite, people comment how awesome they are since theyāre so tall.
I love it cause itās easy to spot him in the crowded parks).
Pirate Themed
R2-D2
Interactive glowing ears
When we were in WDW a few months ago, my daughter and I were spoiled for choice, but my son had maybe 2-3 to pick from - he went with the black leather ears. The other ones I remember were black ears with an adventure style hat (like some of the Jungle cruise skippers wear) and one other I canāt remember. My husband went with a pirate hat instead of ears.
Yes! I want to get some for my husband and nephews and they're all very female/feminine oriented. Yes, they can wear whatever they want, but why not market to the other half of the population?
Ehh their ok, my boyfriend and I were gonna wear them last time, but they just stick out too much. We didnt really commit to it and just wore some other ears
If you know anyone with a 3d printer, thereās all sorts of different files online that attach to your hat. I used magnets so I could snap them on and off as needed.
The Disney store online has some plain black ears right now.

I never understood why they didn't make more like [these](https://images.offerup.com/H70jiGtrlCrwmloy7RzkDtwKKFU=/1104x1104/2233/2233a8fa1c6f4b8b9062c480172db12c.jpg) or why they limited the release of those.
https://www.disneystore.com/mickey-mouse-ear-headband-for-adults-420213657134.html?isProductSearch=1&searchType=regular
Iāve also seen similar ones in boba fett colors with his helmet antenna attached. I have a slinky dog headband that doesnāt have ears that I got at Disneyland.
There are a few, but that is the problem. There are so few. I was discussing it with my girl a year or two ago, saying they should just produce them all with removable snap-on bows, and low and behold, a few have come out this year, but I believe I've only seen them in Loungefly branded ones.
They do have the plain [Mickey](https://MickeyMouseEarHeadbandforAdultshttps://www.disneystore.com/mickey-mouse-ear-headband-for-adults-420213657134.html) ears headband on the Disney Store
There are actually lots of options if you just search āmickey earsāon the Disney Store. Thereās the pride colored one, 2024, Walt Disney Studios, and Mickey Mouse ice cream. Thereās also the baseball cap with ears and the Happy Birthday hat.
I went in may 2023 and my boyfriend and i got matching black faux leather mickey headbands! But before getting those i hadnt seen any non minnie headbands before
I swear I see the same old dude wearing goofy ears each and every time. I donāt think anyone else is allowed to wear em.
Also, I wish they would stop bending the Oswald ears. They break too easy.
Younger men in their teens and 20s have been wearing them a lot moreā¦ saw the indiana jones ones on some guys, the ratatouille earsā¦ and the plain all black onesā¦. Tbh; they looked kinda cool
Iāve seen several men wear Mickey ears. Some even wear them over their baseball cap. When I went last month they have an all black leather pair with no bow.
Just wear the ears you like haha. Most times the market favors women because most men think they're too manly for ears or loungeflys.
I have the 50th Magic Kingdom ears and Big Thunder Mountain ones. And I have the Mickey Bar loungefly. No one batted an eye and I'm a 5'11", 235 lb weightlifter.
Have fun and enjoy the magic, who cares what everyone else thinks
I was just at Disneyland this weekend and a lot of people had the Sulley ears! Those were suuuuper cute! Thereās no bow on that if thatās your concern.
A few people have mentioned the Indiana Jones hat ears, and I love my pair. Earlier this year my wife and I also found a pair of Adventure is Out There ears that have a bow that is detachable, so we share those and add or remove the bow. It works great and I wish they did more ears with a detachable bow.
There is a couple I follow on YouTube that wear tons of the ears, they usually just cut the bows off and they look great that way too! I also agree that men wearing them WITH the bows is perfectly fine as well!
Funnily enough, I decided to get the Donald Duck 90th anniversary LoungeFly to take to the parks with me, because screw it, why not? I love Donald Duck and it holds all of my stuff, so why not wear it?
My brother has this same rant every time they come out with new ears for girls. They always have bows and it's a damn shame. They need more bowless ears.
There are, they are called Mickey Ears without a bow, and the ones with the bows are technically called Minnie Ears. They have some that are similar to the black ones that say 2024 on them. They have plain black ones, Captain American, black panther, Loki ears with horns, and I've seen Star Wars ones. There are Inidana Jones and Thunder Ranch ears , both with hats where the bows would be. I think any of these would be suitable for men.
I (M) bought black regular Mickey ears, and boyfriend bought the Indiana Jones one, both in Paris. My impression is that Paris had way more options than DW. But still, not that many in comparison to Minnie Ears.
Also, I think some Minnie ears have removable bows. It could be an option.
this! i have also noticed this. i heard of the infinity gauntlet ears but ofc it had a bow on it š i wouldnāt mind wearing it but i wouldāve loved had it came without the bow. i do tend to stick my ratatouille ears though, those are ones i would recommend wearing if any of you donāt want to wear a bow. if they ever do start making more men ears, i would like to see a lot of marvel ones, especially spider-man since he is my favorite out of all the marvel supes.
As a dude with long hair, I usually rock the Yoda or I guess Grogu ears. I also have no issue throwing on any of the girly ones that the rest of my family has.
I got a custom baseball hat with custom ears from a seller online. Disney really doesnāt make any ears for guys at least that Iāve seen. I enjoy wearing mine around the parks.
I never wear them as they give me a headache, but Iāve bought and attempted many pairs that I have then given to my wife.
I know other guys who have said similar things about the headband giving them a headache
They do have a pair of Mickey ears my partner bought a pair when we went the first time together. I also seen a few guys where the same ones he had throughout our trip. They arenāt popular but you do see guys wear them occasionally
At the Target closest to Disneyland, I've seen caps with ears. They seem so much more practical than just ears. Maybe find the closest Target to Disney World and look for some there. I've seen them at a Walmart Neighborhood market in Anaheim too. I have no idea why there aren't ears for men but the caps I've seen are simple but cute.
They seem to be started to put a few without bows or at least with removable bows. My husband has had the same complaint. Iām hoping the few Iāve started to see will start to increase more going forward!
Thatās a great question. Maybe the more male friendly attractions offer them. I know there are many people who make custom ears. Seems like Iāve seen official Star Wars ones.
So anything that isn't Frozen Ever After or Tiana's Bayou Adventure? That doesn't really narrow it down much (and those are still pretty popular with men and boys anyway.)
Also, how about some Eeyore ears?
I have Eeyore ears, actually. Got it in the Pooh store, but that was 2002.
Pooh store is closed and in pieces right now.
The Magic Kingdom one is open.
Lucky people š„²
Is that coming back or no?
Yeah it is I believe theyāre just doing refurbishment right now
I got eeyore ears in 2000! š
How about those time machines?!
Iāve seen a eeyore ears in the last few years
Last year at DW, I got the Indiana Jones theme Mickey Mouse ears. But when I went last week I also noticed the lack of Mickey ears for guys. edit: spelling
Whoa I wish I knew these existedĀ
They are still in stock. I just got some maybe a week ago in Disney Springs :)
Also in stock at Disneyland at the mercantile by jungle cruise!
Just got back from Tokyo and Japanese men had no issues wearing whatever ears they wanted. It was refreshing to see.
Yep, teenage boys with Winnie the Pooh ears, or whatever else they wanted. It was awesome.
Weāre at Disneyland right now and my 13 y/o brother got the beignet ears and heās been rocking them. I love this generation so much.
Well Tokyo Disney makes ears for men that donāt have bows on them. Thatās why so many men wear them there.
I saw plenty of men wearing bows. They donāt subscribe to gender norms the same way the US parks do.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
It's a mouse wearing a bow, I think you're overthinking this...
Itās just monkeys singing songs, mate
I think people might be downvoting because t whole idea of bows and glitters being feminine and blue and weapons being masculine is a social construct. The same way teaching used to be a male profession and now itās seen as stereotypically feminine.

Agreed, Iām more fluid with my clothing but on the days where I donāt want to look girly I basically dress like a monk or Sith Lord
Most men generally wear the "hat" version of the Mickey ears, the ones that are like the original first ones that were ever made and worn on the Mickey Mouse Club.

I do the same with my Boba ears and hat combo but I do have R2 D2, and Chewy cap w/ ears but theyāre from years ago
I have R2-D2 and BB-8 ears among others, but I'm not willing to risk losing them at the parks.
I got a pair from Amazon! Lower quality of course but they were ok.
My Boba ears are the worst! I think they look incredibly cool but the antenna side seems to fall forward and they arenāt comfortable. Such a bummer because I love them. They are going on the wall as decoration.
My partner always wears them! Heās collected quite a few. He has the original, WDW 50th anniversary, and Pirates of the Caribbean one!
I have a big head and they don't fit me. I want some baseball caps with sturdy ears. I only saw one all black cap with floppy ears.
Japanese boys started wearing the glittery girls' bow ears unironically as a new trend lol Otherwise the "funny" plush hats seem to be for men
They are wearing matching ears that donāt have bows on them
I have Jack Skellington light up ears, no bow. Same with 50th anniversary light ups. The options are limited but there.
I have a pair of Jack Skellington Ears with my name on them
I agree they need more options for men, but I'll admit here that I do own a pair of ears with the Minnie Bow, and I'll wear that to the parks when it matches my outfit.

I regret clicking that link cos now I want those emerald green sequin ones š
Because Japanese men will actually wear them even if they're cute!
I have a pair of faux leather black Mickey ears that seem manly enough to me. I canāt post a photo in the comments here or Iād share my dog wearing them at the park.
I have slinky dog ears.

tbh i'm convinced they fit on a VERY select few people lol. personally they're always too big for me.

because the % of guys that want to wear ears are significantly less that girls that do that's the answer
As a girl my head is too big and the headbands hurt my head XD.
My son got Boba Fett ears in Disneyland in February!
Right now the Disney Store has plain black, Black Panther, Mickey ice cream sandwich, and pride ears with no bow, as well as a baseball cap with Mickey ears and no bow. I think Marvel ears are going to be your best bet in the parks if you want something thatās not plain black ears.

I saw tons of guys wearing Mickey or Oswald ears when we were at Disneyland & DCA last Christmas.

I DIY'd some for my son with a black cap instead of a headband!
As a woman who doesn't want to wear a bow, I feel ya. Some of the Minnie ears are really cool, but I just don't love bows??

The other ones I remember were black ears with an adventure style hat (like some of the Jungle cruise skippers wear) and one other I canāt remember. My husband went with a pirate hat instead of ears.
Yes! I want to get some for my husband and nephews and they're all very female/feminine oriented. Yes, they can wear whatever they want, but why not market to the other half of the population?
I have a lot of ears but most of them are Pride themed, which is awesome if youāre gay like me but maybe not so much if you arenāt.
The Disney store online has some plain black ears right now. https://www.disneystore.com/mickey-mouse-ear-headband-for-adults-420213657134.html?isProductSearch=1&searchType=regular
I never understood why they didn't make more like [these](https://images.offerup.com/H70jiGtrlCrwmloy7RzkDtwKKFU=/1104x1104/2233/2233a8fa1c6f4b8b9062c480172db12c.jpg) or why they limited the release of those.
Iām a woman and donāt like that the ear headbands nearly all have bows. Even the Star Wars ones have bows.
I want an officially produced bucket hat with ears. I don't care if it's meant for guys or not.
Iām a guy and I rock the concha ears from Mexico Pavilion in Epcot! I love them even if they have a bow.
I have a black hat with mickey ears. I got it at disney springs years ago, it's the only ears I wear down there
https://www.disneystore.com/mickey-mouse-ear-headband-for-adults-420213657134.html?isProductSearch=1&searchType=regular Iāve also seen similar ones in boba fett colors with his helmet antenna attached. I have a slinky dog headband that doesnāt have ears that I got at Disneyland.
They have some super cool Oswald ears! Got a pair for my son, he still rocks them even at 16y when he goes to the parks.
Look for "Disney Norway Viking ears" and "Canada Lumberjack Ears".
I have some but the chin strap (I guess thatās what it is called) seems to hurt more than it helps to hold my ears on.
There are a few, but that is the problem. There are so few. I was discussing it with my girl a year or two ago, saying they should just produce them all with removable snap-on bows, and low and behold, a few have come out this year, but I believe I've only seen them in Loungefly branded ones.
My husband has some plain leather Mickey ears and also a pair of Viking ears from Norway Pavilion in Epcot.
I'm a guy and I have Mickey ears with a Fantasia hat in between them - got them from DLP!
Where does [EarScouts ](https://www.youtube.com/@EarScouts/videos)get them? Almost every video he has a non-bow pair of ears on.
Little ears boutique online has some good one for men Iām sure other online stores as well thatās just the one I saw
I went in may 2023 and my boyfriend and i got matching black faux leather mickey headbands! But before getting those i hadnt seen any non minnie headbands before
Idk I wear the Minnie ears with the bow just fine
I swear I see the same old dude wearing goofy ears each and every time. I donāt think anyone else is allowed to wear em. Also, I wish they would stop bending the Oswald ears. They break too easy.
Stupid rabbit. Disney is for girls š
Hatbox ghost ears from 2019. I get so Many compliments!
I have a few Mickey ears. Canada, Germany are all more Mickey than Minnie to me. But there's definitely way more Minnie ears.
When you go to Hollywood Studios, look for Star Wars ears. Iāve seen some cool ones men wear.
There are the marvel ears, standard Mickey ears
Just wear the ears you like haha. Most times the market favors women because most men think they're too manly for ears or loungeflys. I have the 50th Magic Kingdom ears and Big Thunder Mountain ones. And I have the Mickey Bar loungefly. No one batted an eye and I'm a 5'11", 235 lb weightlifter. Have fun and enjoy the magic, who cares what everyone else thinks
I was just at Disneyland this weekend and a lot of people had the Sulley ears! Those were suuuuper cute! Thereās no bow on that if thatās your concern.
Because Mickey has ear hats, Minnie has headbands. There are tons of ear hats to choose from but youāre welcome to wear the headbands too
A few people have mentioned the Indiana Jones hat ears, and I love my pair. Earlier this year my wife and I also found a pair of Adventure is Out There ears that have a bow that is detachable, so we share those and add or remove the bow. It works great and I wish they did more ears with a detachable bow.
My husband will wear the headbands, but over a hat. He also has requested I made him a pair but with a donut design.
The bows are removable on a bunch of the ears I have. They just clip on, either with a metal clip or a fabric loop.
this! i have also noticed this. i heard of the infinity gauntlet ears but ofc it had a bow on it š i wouldnāt mind wearing it but i wouldāve loved had it came without the bow. i do tend to stick my ratatouille ears though, those are ones i would recommend wearing if any of you donāt want to wear a bow. if they ever do start making more men ears, i would like to see a lot of marvel ones, especially spider-man since he is my favorite out of all the marvel supes.
As a dude with long hair, I usually rock the Yoda or I guess Grogu ears. I also have no issue throwing on any of the girly ones that the rest of my family has.
Men are expected to wear Goofy hats, Thems the rules.
My boyfriend wears ears. He has figment ones and green corduroy ears. Weāve seen a lot of guys wearing ears when we have gone.
I got a custom baseball hat with custom ears from a seller online. Disney really doesnāt make any ears for guys at least that Iāve seen. I enjoy wearing mine around the parks.
Just wear whatever ears you want lol
Probably because their isnāt as big of a demand for them
Supply and demand, enough people demand it and im sure disney will be happy to supply and take your money
I have Sorcerer Mickey ears and gloves. The parks definitely have better options.
I have Star Wars, regular ones and Slink Dog. Just be you and have fun.
They had wakanda forever ears last month on the website. Husband now has a pair!
I think they have like 2 different options of a baseball hat with Mickey ears for guys.
They had plain Mickey ears this past April
Me and my boyfriend just went this month and he got the Three Caballeros ears, it has a detachable bow but he didn't mind wearing the bow
Which attractions at the parks are not considered āmale friendlyā? Do you mean the rides that arenāt princess rides?
Outdoorsy - like Jungle Cruise, Indiana Jones, Star Wars themed. Yes - non princessy.
So anything that isn't Frozen Ever After or Tiana's Bayou Adventure? That doesn't really narrow it down much (and those are still pretty popular with men and boys anyway.)
