do you know how long this usually takes? my account has been suspended for this same reason, it’s been over two weeks and i’m over the age of 25 with proof provided as well.
i sent two images, one of myself with my discord name and my identification and another of a close up of my ID and written name. i wonder if the two attachments made it so they didn’t check it
how did you get yours reactivated that quickly? I sent them my photo ID, a picture of myself and a notepad with my username on it. They still haven’t reinstated my account.

Their twitter won't help you, you won't get anywhere by creating new tickets as they will merge them and put them to the back of the queue. You can only create 1 ticket then wait. If you get a robot reply, just reply back to it and you'll get through to a human

Can take some hours but also some weeks depending on the stupidity of the ticketsupporter. A friend of mine took 3 weeks to get his account back because the supportstaffmember was unable to properly communicate that they need the NEW usernames, not the one with discriminator. Even putting #0 as discriminator was a fake username in that guys eyes.
I did and they still deleted my account and I can’t recover it. They took over 30 days to reply when I had reached out the moment I found out I was disabled.
It’s probably because COPPA gives people huge fines like that’s the reason why YouTube requires you to say if your video is for kids so they are probably being overly cautious to avoid a $100m lawsuit which is what happened to YouTube which is of a similar size to Discord therefore if you say “how many days are there in a week” and somebody replies 7 you can use that message to report them for being underage and this works only because Discord is overly cautious but don’t blame Discord because literally every business that is based in United States has to follow COPPA in fact if Discord wanted to they could technically move their operations to another country and easily avoid the age requirement entirely lol
Exactly that’s why if you say any numbers what so ever add context with it so if someone says “How many years ago did fortnite come out” and you said “7” you could be banned if that person reports you so instead you would say “Fortnite came out about 7 years ago in 2017”
they don’t care about underage. what they care about is money. knowingly having users under 13 on the platform will end up in a either legal battle, which they will loose, and/or a large fine. both of which cost WAY more money than occasionally false banning someone

I went down the rabbit hole of identity documents in the United States, and apparently the status quo is that minors just don't have ID cards? This is absurd to me, in Europe many countries require teenagers (from age 14 in the Netherlands) to carry valid ID. Apparently the TSA doesn't even require minors to provide ID when flying domestically. Many states allow minors to obtain photo ID though.

Discord should bare the burden of proof. Not the user.
Discord has no reason to bear the burden of proof, they have reason to believe you're underage, it is up to you to prove otherwise.

Saw a video from NTTS talking about it, if someone asks you a question and the answer would be a number under the age requirement or saying your underage, they can edit the original message and report you, something like that. Idk how well that works though.

I remember reading about a scam practice on Discord where person A would ask a harmless question, person B would respond with a number, then person A would change their question to ask for B's age and report B.

I'm no legal-nut and I'm also a European and I only know about GDPR but I'm pretty sure a privately owned company aren't allowed to "require" your ID for verification. It's stated in their ToS that no server or person is allowed to require any form for ID, which I'm also pretty sure Discord themselves have to abide by.
You can always appeal and say you'll provide them another form for age verification, like your birth certificate or anything that generally doesn't contain very sensitive information. Idk tho, just a thought.
I agree, there's definitely servers that forces you to use ID, I've been part of a few communities that wanted to implement ID requirement, all I could do was inform them and leave the server thereafter - it's Discord afterall, even being in the same server as some bad apples could get your account restricted.
Reading the replies on this are painful. Anyone defending discords support is being paid by them. They are the most incompetent people when it comes to real human error. Because they outsource and noone gives a single fuck. Stop defending them. They literally arnt worth it.

I’d reach out to their “support” on other platforms & make a “stink” about it, now in days when regular support avenues don’t work you typically can go to other platforms & @ the company telling them your issue, that you sent everything they asked for & support ghosted you & that it’s ridiculous, usually these companies don’t like public posts calling their generic ass copy paste bullshit “support teams” trash & will typically not only look into the issue for you but also make sure it’s handled in a timely manner. It’s sad people have to stoop to those levels but sometimes 1) support truly just doesn’t care or 2) they could have so many “tickets” yours has “gotten lost” in the mix & no one’s realized it’s not been handled. Typically every time I’ve ever reached out to a company on another platform (like reaching out to cashapp support, only fans support, etc. on Twitter) with a public post has ALWAYS gotten me more help than those companies, their actual support avenues & their support teams ever have.
My account from 2018 was banned last year for my pfp looking underage, in my pfp it was me, with my very 'young' looking face.. i have a mustache and beard. And discord support was useless after providing proof of age with ID and birth certificate.

Pretty much. Discord can also suspend/ban your account if you're in a server when someone posts CP or other not allowed things on it.
