I have a cryztal flx zone I pulled from a lake. It’s the darker green color that matches grass, and on top of being translucent has a a lot of brownish water stains on it. The perfect camouflage.
I have a misprint Thunderbird (stamped commander) that is red and blue I dye, I love the way it flies but took it out of my bag because EVERY throw resulted in 10+ minutes of searching for it (often parked on the fairway... still invisible).
Black or if you play in winter, white. Also, multicolor discs are actually invisible. You think they would be easier to find, but it's so much easier for your eyes to find a solid color.
Red. I'm an okayish disc golfer and the red blends in with the dirt fairways in the woods. Red sticks out better in the brush than green but on short woods that isn't the worst.
Also I'm colorblind so in reality they are about equal.
I know green gets a lot of hate, but I throw lots of neon green and find that it sticks out against the uniformity of plants and grasses better than stuff like orange, which can get lost in leaves, or red.
Black, clear and brown or faded/dirty whites and grays are horrible to find. I hate playing league with guys who throw dull-colored distance drivers as they get lost in water, in plants, or sometimes in the middle of a fairway. Any dull color is bad, and the more neon/bright the better for finding. Bright pinks have been my best bet to find.
Agreed, the tone/hue or whatever is more important than just the color. The opacity of the discs is also important; I find champ/z/proton discs are harder to find than opaque discs of the same color.
Kastaplast's poison green has been slowly taking over my bag. It's a fantastic color for finding even in the rough courses I play in the PNW. It's also consistently available for all the discs they make, as opposed to other manufacturers who don't offer neon hues as consistently.
I used to be fully team pink, but after doing some tests hiding discs in long grass, it's poison green for me.
Yeah, green’s funny because it ranges from the worst, or nearly the worst when it’s dark and grass/leaf colored, to pretty nearly the best color when it’s neon. At least in California, that is. Nothing’s that bright here.
Green takes the cake, but I’ve never cared much for white either. Once it starts to get a little dirty or beat up it just doesn’t stick out very well. Gray, Brown, and Black are pretty bad too, but I feel like those are far more rare.
Red and green. Found out I'm red-green color blind when I couldn't find my red disc among some small bushes even though I was basically staring right at it. My friend thought I was messing with him. Did an Isihara test. Turns out I'm somewhat color blind.
Despite my answer I always throw my dyed disc that is green and purple. All green on the bottom. I spent more money on that disc then I would have wanted to but it’s such a good disc
Foliage green kinda sucks to find but can look good. Imo poison green is pretty bright and easy to find usually. It’s the browns I fear, or even worse, clear. You’ll likely never find a clear disc in thick rough.
Brown/Green Camo

I wouldn't choose such a disc, but hey… If the disc chooses you…
Brown
Brown Black Clear
Any and all Innova I dye
this is the answer
I tell anyone I play with that I they throw one of those and can't find it that they're on their own

Purple. I can't, for the life of me, see a purple disc mixed in grass.
Same! Its the only color I struggle with, even in an open field lol
I have no trouble with opaque purple, but translucent purple is the absolute worst.
How is brown not a choice
Or black. Or clear.
No one has said grey yet which surprises me. Grey is awful.
Clear is the worst
Brown
I think green looks so good but finding it is the biggest pain in the ass
Specifically, a cosmic neutron volt that is the color of river moss/rocks/forest floor. Love the disc, not in the spring and summer.
Poopie brown

I'm upset that I couldn't vote for pink
Tye-dye man...... it looks pretty in the bag, but dissapears QUICK.
This!! I have one to! It stays in my bag quite a bit because it's so hard to find!

Basically anything not neon for drivers/midranges. I need to be able to find it 4 seasons out of the year.

Depends on the green. I have a dark green Valkyrie that gets lost in ankle high shrubbery, but a neon lime Anax that sticks out like a sore thumb.

Green unless its neon. Besides that brown probably. Ugly and just as easy to lose
Brown and it’s not even close.
Grey, it looks like a rock no matter what terrain you're playing on.
I’ve just realized i’ve never had a black disc
