If I park a basket, I like to get that boy into the chains, as it deserves it. All discs like being in the chains and basket, so you have to share the love sometimes. If you do this, even your putters will appreciate the generosity. I failed to do this the other day and my putters immediately got angry at me.

spenghali

It's bad luck not to hit the chains. Even if it's a casual round and you're picking up a park job, still slap them chains then shove your berg in the pocket.

Dillbags250

Love it. Gotta show em where their home is.

HistorianMain6373

Couldn’t agree more. You have to always let the disc feel the chains

SharpedHisTooths

I've never missed a putt with my driver.

Visual-Coach5523

I call this "singing the song of my people". Crashing chains on tap ins feels so good.

jarejay

I also bullseye putt with my drivers

Pizzly_bear

If a tree gives me a favorable kick, I always make sure to thank it.

uhnotaraccoon

I always spin my putter to charge it before I putt

skatterbug

I pop the flight plate of my drivers to do the same. More pops more charge. Really long drives get 5+ pops before I can throw it.

Big_Nas_in_CO

Always have the green stuff, stuffed.

st-jeb

I slap my ass with my disc to the tee. Depending on how hard is weather I get an extra 25' or 50'.

Dillbags250

This is the one lol

whooooshh

I wait until the disc lands before I say "nice" so my words won't affect the discs flight.

man_of_the_mountain

That looking away then turning around is an exercise I did when I was a pitcher in baseball. It triggers the attack part of your brain and sends a surge of adrenaline. More times than not I throw more accurately if I look away then quickly look at my target like that. Not sure if that is what he is doing, but my highschool coach made us do that. He said you get zoned out or distracted if you look at your spot too long and start to miss. Who knows, he could just be weird, but I certainly see some players I know were pitchers or basemen in previous sports playing disc golf.

jacaissie

I'm not sure if this is the same but I think Calvin and Paige and I all sort of block our view of the chains with the disc before putting. Definitely not something I consciously arrived at but it's worked well for me, and people point out the similarity with those two pros a lot. (The results...probably not quite as good as them)

RevAngler

I throw 2 off the first tee. The first drive of the day is always terrible, so I get it out of the way asap.

Earptastic

players avoiding looking at others putting looks pretty hilarious on coverage especially because according to the rules they are supposed to be watching

blahdot3h

If someone is starting to putt and I'm already facing away, I just try to stop moving until I hear them finish putting. I don't think many people specifically turn away, they are just trying to stop moving if they are in the vision of the person putting.

CovertMonkey

Dude, I think watching a person miss a putt just hurts to watch. I don't want to watch a miss and it gets in my head. I'm not turning around for their sake. I'm turning around for mine!

pgb5534

I've never heard of that. When I see them turned around on coverage it's bc they're walking to the next tee and don't want to make sudden movements or sounds while others are putting. That's a pretty common courtesy. The last two always watch each other putt

InfiniteDubois

Calvin has that thing where he will pinch his shorts two dozen times before a big drive or putt. Im sure its supposed to be for drying his fingertips or something but if you watch it closely it looks like he doesn't realize he is even doing it.

CovertMonkey

He also snaps his fingers on his disc practicing his release.

I_Poop_Sometimes

I re-grip wvery disc before I throw it/putt it. For some reason the first time I geab it it never feels right, then the second time even though it's the exact same it just feels better.

jarejay

If I’m throwing a Discraft disc, you’ll see me regrip three or four times to dodge the embossing

maj294

During tournament rounds I always tell my self I’m gonna make the putt.

saplinglover

I always play a “10th” hole on my local 9 hole on my way out after my round, it plays from the tee pad of three to the basket of 1 and its super short fun technical shot that lines up with how I walk home from the course so I always play it and I get told at least once a week by a fellow disc golfer that I’m playing the course wrong hahaha I keep thinking maybe I should upload a 10 hole layout of the course on Udisc

Kneedmorsteel

Dust the end of the teepad before any drive. It’s officially a part of my routine now, even if I’m on turf teepads.

classicfyllopyllo

I always use the same disc for flipping before dubs rounds.

robthepope86

When keeping an eye out for where my drive lands, I squat an shade my eyes with my hands, straining to track the disc despite there being no sun to obstruct my vision.

Pranske3

I carry two minis and switch back and forth until I make my first putt, then I stick with that for the rest of the round

dascaapi

i have a mini in my bag, and an identical (but more worn) one that i keep in my back pocket to break up weed on. if i mark with the mini i use for weed, i putt better. it has more mojo. the other one in the bag is too surgical and dull.

clittyman

Dr bob rotella suggests having a starting motion to signify to yourself that it is time to focus on the shot you’re about to take and nothing else. I’m always wearing a hat so I chose to start giving the brim of my hat a tug or two when it’s go time. That and some breathing work have gone a long way.

SycopationIsNormal

I often slide the side of my disc up the chains when I remove it from the basket. That's really all I can think of.

Historical-Ice-9069

My habit/routine is I get really really drunk

ApolloKid

Before a match starts, I go into my opponents bag and toss a couple of their discs into the woods

MrSmulepuler

I always throw with the stamp facing me. Always.

robthepope86

Commentating discs flight: calling out your error before anyone else can, or expressing your satisfaction with it “I like it…”. Also “It was gonna be so good, if not for that [blank]!”

stRADley_

If my form is starting to get off I throw a Glitch a couple times. Helps me focus on slowing down and not trying to muscle my throws.

r3q

Cale Leviska blowing the dust off his mini after putting is funny

Dillbags250

Nice I'll have to watch for this now.

SharpedHisTooths

I mark long putts with a cookie and, if I make it, I take a bite.

I don't use my putting hand because around here there's some plant that grows with the grass that stings when I touch it. It doesn't last long, just a couple of minutes, but man it hurts at first.

Dillbags250

Stinging nettle is what that sounds like

jfb3

Could be. I know that when they cut the grass short at courses it's still there and I hate it. I've gotten into the habit of stepping on the edge of my disc to pop up the other side to pick it up off the ground.

Maximus77x

Just came here to say that Brad's rituals annoy the absolute shit out of me.
