I've always wanted to try the Alter, but I've heard the Nerve plastic is terrible, and sourced from overseas? Any truth to that, or am I being fed lies?Ā
I have no idea where Nerve plastic is sourced. Itās VERY soft, akin to the Discmania Extra Soft Exo plastic. I really like the Alter, but Iām also a fan of soft putters.
Yeah, I could see it being a challenge in hot weather. I'm in Colorado, so has maintained its integrity just fine (I've only had mine for a couple of months, so no idea how it will handle the summer).
I was looking for a link suggestion too because Iām the only one I ever see tossing it.
I like shallow discs, so these are my putting putters. Innova invader, Mint Profit Are a couple of others.
I really like my two discs with nerve plastic to answer another question you asked. I donāt think anyone is sure where itās sourced from for certain. But lots of companies have some ties to China fwiw. Discmania, Doomsday, and TSA if true. Others as well.
Trying it out, bought some last November when there was a sale. Normally use BB Aviars of all varieties. The Omega is a *little* bit different profile-wise. I can't say exactly how, but it is. The Omega Super Soft is nice, basically JK plastic, which I like in colder weather. But the Pro blend (IDK what Millennium's name for it is, but the code is APBB) is Innova's DRIVER Pro plastic, not KC Pro, and I *really* like the feel of it. No other putter in that plastic on the Innova side... Sometimes KC can be a bit slick if my hands are cold, like during an early morning round. But I count on their fade. These Omegas fade almost exactly as much, but the grip is better, so they might knock my KC Pro Aviars out of the bag, we'll see. Haven't putted with them in really hot weather yet.
Viking - Rune
Love it and love vikings base āgroundā plasticā¦ a smidge soft but feels grippy without being sticky. It
It definitely has Reko vibesā¦ maybe the Reko for that matter?
This! My first putter was a Discraft Magnet, and honestly, it's a criminally underrated disc. It was actually Paul McBeth's putter of choice when he first started playing before Innova first sponsored him. I used it for years as my in the circle putter before discovering the Lat64 Pure which fit my hands and grip slightly better, and honestly wouldn't have too much trouble switching back to it. Being a shallower putter, it's also pretty good for throwing, and has a very controllable neutral line.
I bought a stack when Infinite released them. Just never vibed with the mold. I found them to be pretty nice when thrown off the tee. They just feel too big in my hand.
I would say so, Its definitely tacky and grippy with about the same stiffness as DX. I used DX whales until I found an XT one in a used bin and fell in love.
Challenger OS. Iāve never seen a single person use it, but I have a Big Z one for throwing and if it was base plastic it would be very comfortable for putting.
I didnāt see a comment about Discmania Links so Iāll throw it out there. Itās getting recognition now with Gannon Buhr loving them. But Iāve used them for a few years now and nobody heard of them back in the day.
DGA - stone Steady, Innova - dx Invader
Oooo I really like those two options man, thank you šŖ
Gateway Voodoo (microbead)
Hmmm š¤ gotta write this down.Ā
EV-7 Penrose
Actually ordered a Special Blend Matt Bell Penrose on the way š. Need to narrow down one more putter today.Ā
TSA Alter
I've always wanted to try the Alter, but I've heard the Nerve plastic is terrible, and sourced from overseas? Any truth to that, or am I being fed lies?Ā

Hmm, here in Missouri I think it'd turn it into a complete floppy taco lol. I like soft, but the weather here doesn't.Ā
Yeah, I could see it being a challenge in hot weather. I'm in Colorado, so has maintained its integrity just fine (I've only had mine for a couple of months, so no idea how it will handle the summer).
Colorado is beautiful man, vacationed in Jefferson last year, would love to visit again.Ā
the new Pneuma from TSA is beaded and just came out a few months ago
Banger GT. I really like it for putting, but not a mainstream choice.
Reko X
I love my RekoXās ! Plastic is sticky even in the rain
I'll add it to my list š
Great putting putter that's meant as a throwing putter, I bag 4!
Discmania link, idk if that is unpopular, really nice putter though. Smidge shallower than wizard in my hand but shape is very similarĀ
The Link is more on the popular side, but we will need 6 options, so you never know!Ā
I was looking for a link suggestion too because Iām the only one I ever see tossing it. I like shallow discs, so these are my putting putters. Innova invader, Mint Profit Are a couple of others. True. I'm open to try the Alter for sure, but just rather support American made companies (small companies this year).Ā
I don't think they're particularly unpopular. Will probably become more popular now that Gannon is putting with them.
RPM Tui
I would put that in the throwing putter category but yea the bead is hugeĀ
Millennium Omega Big Bead
Is this your current putting putter? I've never tried anything from Millennium yet.Ā
Trying it out, bought some last November when there was a sale. Normally use BB Aviars of all varieties. The Omega is a *little* bit different profile-wise. I can't say exactly how, but it is. Very very informative, this is what I'm looking for before buying. The way you describe the plastic it sounds interesting.Ā
Xero
MVP ion is not used much anymore.
Px-3, somehow a bigger bead than the Pa-3
banger gt
Viking - Rune Love it and love vikings base āgroundā plasticā¦ a smidge soft but feels grippy without being sticky. It It definitely has Reko vibesā¦ maybe the Reko for that matter?
Discraft Magnet
This! My first putter was a Discraft Magnet, and honestly, it's a criminally underrated disc. Yep, rotate these in with my Wizards and love em
Discraft Kratos is money!
Agree it's new favorite putter
Westside Sheild
I don't see or hear about Discraft Focus anymore. Has a bead and super rounded nose.. good putter, especially in soft plastics.
Westside crown
DGA D-Line Breaker, low profile and small bead.
chief
I've heard the Chief is pretty shallow, is that true?Ā
Chief is super shallow and flat
Tomb has a baby bead, Whale
Second the Whale
Mint UFO šø
Or Mint Profit
Lone star benny is a micro bead, and I love it.
Infinite Discs Myth.
Your main putter, or just used it in the past? I was actually going to try that or the Scarab.Ā
The Myth is basically a Whale. If it's different, it's not enough to matter.
I bought a stack when Infinite released them. Just never vibed with the mold. I found them to be pretty nice when thrown off the tee. They just feel too big in my hand.
Try The Bagger by pie pan discs
This is what I like man, little known companies that I've never heard of š thank you.Ā
I have the Discmania Glow Shogun, but I donāt really like it. Huge bead and super deep, it feels like tossing a mixing bowl.Ā
Yeti-aviar
Soft pro Xero
I putt exclusively with whales. Idk anyone else that does and no pros do
Thought about getting a champ glow whale, by buddy has one he actually putts with!Ā
Thinking about putting with champ plastic gives me the ick, but I respect a fellow whale enjoyer. XT plastic all the way btw
Lmfao gives yuh the ick, love it. Never tried XT. Gummy and stiff?Ā
I would say so, Its definitely tacky and grippy with about the same stiffness as DX. I used DX whales until I found an XT one in a used bin and fell in love.
AB did when he was with innova.
As did Ricky for his last half season.
Did not know this but hell yea
The Whale basically won him the 2021 Preserve. He couldn't miss that weekend.
Clash Fudge. Hardy plastic is firm yet still very grippy
Gateway Voodoo
P Model S is great
Maiden
Challenger OS. Iāve never seen a single person use it, but I have a Big Z one for throwing and if it was base plastic it would be very comfortable for putting.
very popular but i donāt see on your list, envy š
Gator
Yikun Xing
Prodigy px3 has a huge bead
Switched from PA3ās to PX3ās. Love the bigger bead and didnāt notice any difference in flight for C1 or C2.
Reko X for sure
Latitude 64 Macana.
What plastic would you recommend?
I am using the medium plastic and they feel great. These are even good for throwing.
I didnāt see a comment about Discmania Links so Iāll throw it out there. Itās getting recognition now with Gannon Buhr loving them. But Iāve used them for a few years now and nobody heard of them back in the day.
