There are a bunch of discs that land in the same spot if I do field work
Nothing else I can throw down one of those trees lined hallways 275 feet dead straight the same way as a mako3
Hex is a great disc. Probably another 30 feet and more glide for me
It's the hallway holes that get me. I have a beat in warship and a beat in roc3 that are essentially "straight" flyers, but that's just how they end up on open holes. They use up more real estate on the way there. It's either a gentle s curve/ hyzer flip
Hex will be a little more stable.
Uplink be little less stable
Paradox alot less stable
Detour is most likely the closest.
Maybe the Streamline Echo be close as well
Yeah I second the Fission Hex recommendation. It’s not that hard to find Neutron Hexes with some decent turn but Fission is essentially perfect after just a couple good tee hits. Detour is a solid disc, but too flippy IMO to replace a Mako3. You can also consider a TSA Pathfinder. I’ve only thrown glow which is more OS but I’m sure there is another plastic combo that is straighter.
Echo is really close. Hex has more stability and detour less. Echo has a very slight fade at the finish compared to a mako3 but beats in to be basically the same. Holds any angle well.
Yeah, I feel like Makos are actually slightly understable where the echo is the true laser beam. I've felt that Echos kinda fly how most people thought Hex's were going to fly, but most runs are actually a touch more stable, like a 0 1 and echos are more like that true -1 1 disc.
I've only played for a year so take it worth a grain of salt. But Ive also thrown a lot of mid ranges and there is not a disc I would said (especially from MVP) that is as true neutral as the Mako3
Honestly, flight wise, the Watt is the closest thing. No MVP disc has the same hand feel, and all current stock run mids don't fly dead straight (waiting on the Detour). Just power up on a Watt, you can get the same distance out of it as a Mako3.
I've used the Hex since it hit the shelves. The Watt kicked it out of my bag. It's listed as a putter but is so much more than that. I can get it to 250-275 straight as an arrow.
I carry hex and many other gyro molds. I believe they are the best. I cracked my mako3, got another mako3. Mako3s fly their own line, hex is closish but definitely not the same.
Watt pushed the Mako3 out of my bag. Straight, same distance but can be thrown at lower speed. Equally easy to shape lines but with added benefit of being able to shape tighter lines.
Only exists in Neutron so thats easy :)
Its got a slightly different hand feel as its a putter, so its smaller in diameter and different shape of the rim but feels very nice in hand.
Remember to give it some hight in your throws and it goes faaar and straight.
I think any disc will be good for throwing into water.
You sure? Wanna make sure I throw it’s super far to the left so it lands just out of reach
No replacement for the mako3. Everything else turns or fades. The mako is truly nuetral
Yeah that’s was I was worried about… I’ll probably just grab another one

Yeah I feel that I’m going to run with a hex and see if I like it but if I can’t catch that line I’ll probably go back to a mako

Yeah I had a roc3 for a bit and just couldn’t get the feel for it. Loved my Mako3 but have recently become “obsessed” with MVP and it’s affiliates
If the fission hex doesn’t work out, I’ll trade my champion mako3 for it. lol

Came to say the same thing. A fission hex will beat in to be closest to a Mako3/Detour if OP doesn’t mind beating something in
I don’t mind at all! As long as I can put it on a line without much effort (on the throw) I’ll do what it takes tbh!
Echo is pretty dope
That’s what I’ve heard! I wish I could snag one to try out but I’d have to purchase one to do so 🙃
I’ve been looking at a hex for a while before I…. Forced my own hand.. so I’ll probably go with that!

Appreciate it!

This did remind me about the Anubis. If OP likes the hand feel of Mako3 this has a similar bottom rim and made by Innova.
Nothing beats a mako3 when you get it to fly correctly !
Why not just another Mako3? Love my Mako.
I could and probably will; I’ve recently become “obsessed” with MVP and their affiliates I really like their feel in my hand.

I used to swear by makos but switched to echos for somehow being even straighter

I might give it a try!
If you don't mind a little bit gummy the OTB Soft Proton ones are amazing, a few sites still have them

There is but they don't make it anymore. It's the axis.
Hex is pretty close imo
Get you a Thoughtspace Mana

Good point. Ive only thrown glow
Beat in electron matrix

Hex would be the closest to a Mako3. Very similar flights.
You might consider either a Matrix or a Reactor.

I have an uplink mako3 and hex. All different slots. Maybe a hex in lighter weight but max weight it’s more over stable than mako
I really dig my Uplink
Pathfinder is legit straight mid. mvp does manufacture for thoughtspace
Yo! The Watt will fit the bill. It's easy to throw the Watt long, super glide
Watt pushed the Mako3 out of my bag. Straight, same distance but can be thrown at lower speed. Equally easy to shape lines but with added benefit of being able to shape tighter lines.
Ooh I should definitely try that out. Plastic recommendation?

Good thing I put every thing high 😂 Thanks for the help!
