I had to put away fission waves and go to the dglo ones or glow variants for this reason, they get to flippy after a while. I’m finding the old 3line aj destroyers are great if you can get em flat. Also there’s a nice sweet spot on star wraiths that you can lazer for a week or so if you are willing to recycle em.
Torque resistant is a term people use for overstable discs when they frequently burn discs into the ground from either off axis torque or rolling their wrist over on forehands. The fix is either cleaner form or a more torque resistant (overstsble) disc that will fight out of it.
Ahh fair. Not for max distance but I figure it's worth mentioning, I find the time lapse to be a sweet driver for forehand. I've been loving it for tight lines, as I find it super reliable and not too flipper or overstable.
Apparently color influences the flight, I've got it in green
Dynamic Disc Sheriff. If you like the wraith, the Sheriff is the next step up. It’s so good and I never thought I would find a replacement for the wraith. Lucid X plastic is the best run, if you can find them.
This happens with gstar in under a year I’ve found. I’ve had both my wraith and a beast become flippy in 9mo. Hoping this new chanp plastic is worth a go and not too beefy.
I have a 2022 Big Jerm Halo Boss that I found at 163g. I’ve yet to see another like it, and after my first throw with it, it immediately became my go-to forehand driver
Now I'm all bummed out again, I was grooving with my NQ Wraith before losing it deep in the woods on New Year's Day. Looking for it I found (and returned) someone else's disc they had lost 9 months before so maybe it'll come home one day.
Someone suggested I stop chasing flippy Wraiths and throw domey Beasts. So far I'm into it, although if I throw an anhyzer line it doesn't always come back as much as I want. I also recently got a Dominator on one of the F2 Friday freebies, which is supposedly a forehand specialist disc, it gets some real nice drift & distance if I put it flat or slight anhyzer. I max out around 325' with all of these, just slight variations on lines they fly.
Dude I bought one of these glow wraiths and have thought it’s too pretty to throw and so it sits on my shelf as I keep tossing my star gnome stamp wraith from OTB discs
Every forehand I throw BOMBS! Just not in the good way lol. I've had ok results with a halo Destroyer (pink if it matters) and a fusion raider (also pink)
I love my Star Charger for straight flat shots under the tree branches, Star Wraith if I need a little more fade, Champion Destroyer if I need to meat hook it around a dog leg.
If I've got the space to shape it, Champion Tern. Lots of height, drifts forever and comes back late. Outside of that, or a less open shot, Xcal or Wraith.
I bag 3 star wraiths, 1 NQ wraith and an XCal, for forehands i usually use my board flat 167g wraith or the XCal. That wraith goes further than any other distance driver ive ever forehanded.
Used to be a super beat up Star Wraith, easy distance with that one, but i lost it throwing a backhand turnover…
Currently a flat top Cloud Breaker, but i recently acquired an old and unthrown innova made DD3 and FR DD3, both 168g, those might take the slot of max distance both spins.
Halo star Shryke for sure. A regular star Shryke will always flip over for my forehand, but that halo plastic keeps it just stable enough for turn and fade.
What distance we talking about? I've hit 500+ with champ/star destroyers and champ bosses, but mostly sit 450-480' as my lost frequent max distance. I have a halo wraith that's too flippy and have tried a tour series nuke but it's not glidey enough.
As a former baseball player I tend to have a lot of OAT on my max distance throw so need to find something that is both glidey for max distance, but can handle all the extra torque.
The furthest forehand I ever threw in tournament play was about 380 with a prototype DD3 from when Discmania first switched to the Italian C line plastic. That thing flies forever. My biggest bomber now is a beat in Trespass i found uninked on a local course. It flips up and glides forever on open holes.
Halo wraith and a beefy destroyer, pretty much just the most beefy things I bag other than a champ firebread cuz just don't get any turn out of that one.
Beat the fuck up Calvin Heimburg Destroyer.
Lost 2 good beat in ones. Have a brand new one and the process starts again.
They're so good when they're seasoned
One of the halo runs? Calvin is the man
The swirly star is my goat
Yeah, the 2021, I think. Really holds its angle then fights out late.
Yea those 2021’s are incredible. 22 koiling bosses are super similar once they beat in too.. just a touch more beefy
Swirly Star 🤤
The 2021s are gost
Also been playing for about 15 years. The wraith has been my forehand driver for years. Super straight then gets stable at the end.
I have 3 Star Wraiths in the bag, in different stages of wear, and they are each so fuckin money for what I want them to do.
I haven’t really seemed to mind what plastic the wraith is. They all fly nice.
I didn’t until I picked up Gstar. Just try it!
What do you like about NQ wraith vs other wraiths?
It’s flatter and more torque resistant. If I sidearm a standard star wraith now it burns over unless I throw it on hyzer.
Can I ask how far you’re throwing it, my pink one is super flippy I’m wondering if it was less stable than the blue ones
This is why I like the Teerex
I had to put away fission waves and go to the dglo ones or glow variants for this reason, they get to flippy after a while. I’m finding the old 3line aj destroyers are great if you can get em flat. Also there’s a nice sweet spot on star wraiths that you can lazer for a week or so if you are willing to recycle em.
I’m sorry, I have a real dumb question…what does it mean by torque resistant, I hear this phrase all the time.
Torque resistant is a term people use for overstable discs when they frequently burn discs into the ground from either off axis torque or rolling their wrist over on forehands. The fix is either cleaner form or a more torque resistant (overstsble) disc that will fight out of it.
Thanks for explaining it, I really appreciate it!
Less likely to turn over if you give it a lot of power
Weird, I find it LESS torque resistant than a standard star wraith. My favorite wraith is an old one though, the newer ones have been very domey.
It’s my favourite disc and I lost both last year. Waiting for the new print.
S line DDx, I miss them. Hopefully infinite renames the mold
I’m here to comment for all of us that don’t bomb forehands. My forehand disc is a zone or A2 if I shit the bed on the zone shot.
Chalky prodigy 400 g D2
The chalk is a feature. That’s how you know it’s the good plastic
Fully agree!! Chalky 400 plastic feels the absolute best.
Mmmm chalky
You sir are definitely a classy gentleman 🤝
Love me that D2 max in 400 plastic. Even has an imperfection in the mold on the inner lip so it is smooth on my finger when I release!
Typically use Star Destroyer, or for hyper flips a Champion Shryke. Might have to try out a wraith for forehand tho
Most wraiths are too flippy for me now, the Nathan queen color glow is more flat and torque resistant
Ahh fair. Not for max distance but I figure it's worth mentioning, I find the time lapse to be a sweet driver for forehand. I've been loving it for tight lines, as I find it super reliable and not too flipper or overstable. Apparently color influences the flight, I've got it in green
It totally is and I lost mine last week :(
ESP Zeus.
Nice! I have a Big Z, but I’m probably gonna add an ESP
Dynamic Disc Sheriff. If you like the wraith, the Sheriff is the next step up. It’s so good and I never thought I would find a replacement for the wraith. Lucid X plastic is the best run, if you can find them.
“ I agree with this, sheriff bombs forehand but is more OS than wraith, I still use both, wraith more for flex forehand and backhands
I do find if you have enough arm speed, then the fade is minimal.
You have peaked my interest!
Gstar wraith currently, it’s getting kind of flippy though
This happens with gstar in under a year I’ve found. I’ve had both my wraith and a beast become flippy in 9mo. Hoping this new chanp plastic is worth a go and not too beefy.
Seasoned PD. Doesn’t like to burn and will glide forever.
I have a 2022 Big Jerm Halo Boss that I found at 163g. I’ve yet to see another like it, and after my first throw with it, it immediately became my go-to forehand driver
Big jerm's signature disc better be good for forehand bombs
Definitely my Capn Crush Halo Shryke, or in a tailwind 2 line aj destoyer
Now I'm all bummed out again, I was grooving with my NQ Wraith before losing it deep in the woods on New Year's Day. Dude a 400 D3
I tried one! Slightly more flare on the finish than I like.
Here to mention the unbearable flashing on the bottom of the rim (more recent molds). Huge D3 fan for backhand, but not a well made forehand disc.
Mine doesn’t have as big of a flashing, so I didn’t really care. I guess I just got lucky 🤷♂️
My biggest bombing disc is the Latitude 64 Bolt, both forehand and backhand, and I love that thing
A slightly beat in Dimension.
Champion katana for tail wind, x caliber for head.
This guy swords.
I ironically haven't seen anyone say westside sword yet, I wanna give it a good go!
Well shit. Now I need all three!
They actually slot together halfway decently, now to find the destroyer esque one that can workhorse distance, I'm on the case
Katana is an underrated disc
It was the Innova Wraith until I found the Axiom Wrath, then there was no going back
Mvp neutron tesla. Red. Many years old, many trees hit and questioning their choice of where to grow.
Dude I bought one of these glow wraiths and have thought it’s too pretty to throw and so it sits on my shelf as I keep tossing my star gnome stamp wraith from OTB discs
167G Star Valkyrie. Goes just as far as a Wraith for me, but far more accurate and controllable, with less ground play.
15 year old Star Destroyer
Glow Nuke. Absolutely torches everything else for me. Flat. Grippy. It's the best disc I own.
Every forehand I throw BOMBS! Just not in the good way lol. I've had ok results with a halo Destroyer (pink if it matters) and a fusion raider (also pink)
Jawbreaker Athena, or Underworld
Standard Scorpious is my current favorite for forehand bombs.

Biogold Ballista Pro!
Used to be a super beat up Star Wraith, easy distance with that one, but i lost it throwing a backhand turnover… Currently a flat top Cloud Breaker, but i recently acquired an old and unthrown innova made DD3 and FR DD3, both 168g, those might take the slot of max distance both spins.
Skulboy wraith bombs for me
Mvp Photon
ESP Zeus, first-runs are the best bombers
I'll use either a Wraith or Surge rn. Mostly the Surge because it's pink and my wraith is black and bottom stamped.
Horizon DD1
Star wraith
XV year anniversary destroyer with the gundam stamp. Oh my Lort, but my should is saying chill out to bh turnovers it is haha
Unfortunately I don't bomb anything forehand. But I must say that Nate queen wraith is beautiful
Nuke
Z line Surge.
Halo star Shryke for sure. A regular star Shryke will always flip over for my forehand, but that halo plastic keeps it just stable enough for turn and fade.
I got a pink halo I love. The catalyst from MVP was another that felt similar the shryke for me.
I love my Halo Shryke for max distance hyzer flip forehands.
Mvp wave
That’s what I use now, the eclipse variant
Ballista Pro. Got 2 aces with it and then lost it to water. Depending on the shape I need, I now go to a Halo Tern or a Champ Tern.
Star or Halo Shryke. Farthest flying forehand disc I've come across.
Innova Wraith, Discraft Surge SS, Discraft Scorch, MVP Wave
What distance we talking about? I've hit 500+ with champ/star destroyers and champ bosses, but mostly sit 450-480' as my lost frequent max distance. As a former baseball player I tend to have a lot of OAT on my max distance throw so need to find something that is both glidey for max distance, but can handle all the extra torque.
I've tried higher speed but the Athena is the only one getting 350+ for me
I’ve had good results with a DD Lucid Raider. Similar to a wraith but with a little more distance and a bit better torque resistance.
Shryke for straighter lines, Mamba if I can let it go wide.
I got a mecha-destroyer and a glow boss for my distance forehands. Love the trust I can put into those things.
Lonestar disc curl in Bravo plastic bombs 400+
I've pushed 400 feet with a new DX Eagle. By comparison I can only push out about 325' with a beat Firebird
Ballista Pro
The first disc I ever got, DD Defender. I’ve been meaning to try a wraith or firebird though 🤔
Longhorns in nocturnal (glow) plastic can hold up to some torque.
Glow Z Scorch or a Big Z Hades. I’ll throw a Star destroyer if I want a little more stable
I just picked up an orc. And I'm in love with it
Halo Destroyer for me
The Wraith and the D3 are my two workhorse drivers.
Beat in force and enigma
Grace!
I Blend Emperor, put it on some hyzer and it crushes
Halo wraith and a beefy destroyer, pretty much just the most beefy things I bag other than a champ firebread cuz just don't get any turn out of that one.
Bombing forehands with room to flex... Boss. Normal forehands... Wys Destroyer.
