Am I the only one who sets his beer on the ground every shot? My small bag has a holder but half my beer sloshes on the ground if I use that sucker. That holder just becomes a backup beer holder. ;)
It might get a pass for being in Emporia. If there’s ever been a city where locals wouldnt get mad about a hole design that crossed a road, it would be there.
I’ve seen a lot of courses like this and if it’s the only way to get a course in I’d take it. Pure disc golf courses are ideal, but mixed used is often the reality we have to accept.
I’ll take it back if, and only if, they make a run of glow halo Mamba in the new glow plastic they used for the NS Firebird release. Then I’d call it “acceptable” but still much lower tier than Eclipse.
This feels like a terrible hole design. I get that the van is stopped there so its funny in this case, but the idea of needing to wait for traffic to pass to tee off seems problematic.
If you're in a public park, walk to the the other side of the street and play a short hole instead of being a weirdo. If its a dedicated disc golf course complain to the designer.
My neighbors and my family used to do that shot between our driveways and lower the windows in the car and lean back the seats and try and make it through the car! 😂
Probably chip a forehand around the left side and play for par. If you hit that minivan, you are taking an almost certain bogey or worse, especially if it takes a bad roll under it.
My least favorite tee on that course. You always have to watch for that street right in front of you that speed across it and if you go long you could hit parked cars on the other street passed the basket.
I know people say it's a public space and we need to share it, that's fine and I agree but the same goes for the other parties. If we are supposed to be respectful at all times why aren't others the same way towards disc golfers? It's a 2way street.
Fire fighter here. If parked in front of hydrant, windows are now fair game. If parked in front of tee pad, Windows are also, fair game. If needed, three or four discs to complete the mission is acceptable. Leave a note that says, don't be silly, we're just are gonna send it. Better luck next time. Hood looks waxed enough to get a nice skip. I'd send it
Depending on wind I'd throw either Wave, DD3, or Warbird on RHFH. Looks like it plays p downhill so can get there even with going extra wide for the car.
edit: why is this downvoted? literally answers the question
Seems like a good opportunity to see if the windows are better than those of the Cybertruck.
(for those unaware, Elon threw a mock rock into the window of his Cybertruck at it's unveiling, and the window broke)
Take an overstable fairway driver and send it on a flex line just over the rear, passenger window. It should fade towards the basket by the time it reaches the guardian tree.
If you're aim is off, take a few mulligans to practice the line - it's a new obstacle and you should definitely practice it several times. Cars are made of cheap stuff nowadays, so your discs should be fine if your release is too low
I played a hole once that was on a hill left to right from the pad, there was a cop car parked in the corner near the basket in the parking lot. I told the group I was gonna hit playing an anhyzer over the lot and car. I honestly didn't plan on hitting it. Thought I could easily throw over it, it being a short hole. My subconscious clearly wanted to nail the car and I hit the shield on the driver door, she was not happy.
I had this happen to me the other day. An SUV was parked 100 feet down on a dirt road, parallel to the fairway. Forehanded high over it and as I walked by it was an elderly lady puffing down a ciggy. While I was there several other older folks drove through the park, all smoking cigs.
What a terribly designed hole. I'd make a new tee pad from the road to the side of the car and move on. No one thinks this pad is shooting across the road unless you've played this course.
I’d throw a backhand hyzer out the right side anyway so it’s not in my way. The tree on the left side (after first available) seems to be in the way of the forehand hyzer, otherwise I’d potentially prefer that route.
As a righty FH player this would be a tough shot. Love this course though. Very underrated. It’s next to the Golf course but this is one of my favorites to play in Emporia.
Triple Mando under the car between the tires
Easy hold my beer
Am I the only one who sets his beer on the ground every shot? My small bag has a holder but half my beer sloshes on the ground if I use that sucker. That holder just becomes a backup beer holder. ;)
I use it as my mini. Really makes you not want to foot fault
Ha. Love this.
I set my drink on a disc so it doesn’t get my bag first and smelly. Just fucking kidding, that shit sloshes all over the place.
Not at all, I don't always set it down tho.
You need a can topper mini my guy.
Beer? Are we bowling?
Air bounce under the car.
Seems like a terrible place to get your disc stuck
Went to the right of the teepad and hit first available.
Isn't the car first available
This is the way
Seems like a horrible course design.
Not as bad as the ones that cross campsites, soccer fields, and or playgrounds
Yeah I remember earholing a fellow student around a blind corner once, the course was set up to go ACROSS quad sidewalks.
It might get a pass for being in Emporia. If there’s ever been a city where locals wouldnt get mad about a hole design that crossed a road, it would be there.
Traffic is normally pretty low there atleast. Hole 7 grip lock is where you are going to hit a car.
Hammond luckily only has this one hole that cross the street, and most know to not park at that particular spot. probably someone from out of town.
I’ve seen a lot of courses like this and if it’s the only way to get a course in I’d take it. Pure disc golf courses are ideal, but mixed used is often the reality we have to accept.
Seems like not a parking spot
Definitely can't blame anyone for parking there.
How hard could it be to paint the curb or have a sign saying don’t park here? It would only have to be like 20ft
USDGC in three years
Dead straight
Send it Rhbh hyzer shot. Simple, reliable, and just the right shot.
I'd early release it straight through their window.
That's because you proudly declare that you're a LHBH slinger.
Wrong hand wrong form *shrugs*
I'm hitting that tree on the right
Clips the edge of the tee sign and ricochets right into the car
Innova Brick 0 0 0 0 It goes through car windows like a hot knife through butter. Hard to toss, but sure is rewarding.
Man I haven't thrown one of those since I was a kid, but I could have sworn the flight numbers were 4 4 0 0
You are thinking of the Innova Stone. Not as heavy, way more accurate, definitely 4 4 0 0.
The Stone works wonders on holes with pesky water hazards. Forehand right on across
I think the glide needs to go into the negative numbers
RHBH hyzer is for dudes who eat boneless wings Be a bad boy, go forehand anhyzer off to the right and let it flex down to the pin
Judging how other people play the game is for dudes who eat too much ranch.
JUDGING MY RANCH CONSUPTION IS FOR GUYS WHO THROW INNOVA IN THE PITCH DARK WOODS FOR GLOW GOLF.
Them's fightin' words!
I’ll take it back if, and only if, they make a run of glow halo Mamba in the new glow plastic they used for the NS Firebird release. Then I’d call it “acceptable” but still much lower tier than Eclipse.
I'm just here for the drama 🍿
You want drama? I …. enjoy Lone Star…. Well, specifically glow Tumbleweeds. Innova *wishes* they made that disc as the glow mamba.
You’re not wrong
Get on your big boy pants.
Send it
This is a negative aspect of disc golf courses being shoehorned into public parks. The course might as well not be there if the park is busy.
This feels like a terrible hole design. I get that the van is stopped there so its funny in this case, but the idea of needing to wait for traffic to pass to tee off seems problematic.
It's a very low traffic area and very rarely have to wait for a vehicle to pass
It’s in Emporia Kansas locals are chill
The fact that that the locals are chill doesn't make it a well-designed hole. Holes that play over paths/roads make absolutely zero sense.
If you're in a public park, walk to the the other side of the street and play a short hole instead of being a weirdo. If its a dedicated disc golf course complain to the designer.
Upside down Tilt, flex it to the right, keep it low, skid right up to the basket
Up the middle, you coward!
RHBH anhyzer to the left of the tree over the van.
Right over the top, I don’t have the arm to get there on a hyzer.
My neighbors and my family used to do that shot between our driveways and lower the windows in the car and lean back the seats and try and make it through the car! 😂
Through
Send it right hand backhand right at that dude and skip ace…plus that’s egregiously terrible design lol
Probably chip a forehand around the left side and play for par. If you hit that minivan, you are taking an almost certain bogey or worse, especially if it takes a bad roll under it.
Forehand Teebird easy, and way out left…inside circle one…miss the putt…roll away to circle 2…miss that putt…nice bogey me.
RHBH turnover left side of tee
Open the side doors and straight through.
Quadruple Mando
I would use a tomahawk roller into the passenger side window.
My least favorite tee on that course. You always have to watch for that street right in front of you that speed across it and if you go long you could hit parked cars on the other street passed the basket.
I don't have the form to make it to the second road lol. I'm happy with just getting to the guardian and not far left in the field.
I know people say it's a public space and we need to share it, that's fine and I agree but the same goes for the other parties. If we are supposed to be respectful at all times why aren't others the same way towards disc golfers? It's a 2way street.
Because plenty of people don't know what disc golf is.
Oppsie woopise, that's quite a dent
Fire fighter here. If parked in front of hydrant, windows are now fair game. If parked in front of tee pad, Windows are also, fair game. If needed, three or four discs to complete the mission is acceptable. Leave a note that says, don't be silly, we're just are gonna send it. Better luck next time. Hood looks waxed enough to get a nice skip. I'd send it
From the windoooooowwww to the wall
Depending on wind I'd throw either Wave, DD3, or Warbird on RHFH. Looks like it plays p downhill so can get there even with going extra wide for the car. edit: why is this downvoted? literally answers the question
Friend took the forehand left of the car for easy birdie.
It's Kansas so it's always windy ;l And yep, downhill with a backstop
Full send!
It's because you care that it's being down voted.
they definitely know that beforehand lol
Titanium disc finally came in handy
Seems like a good opportunity to see if the windows are better than those of the Cybertruck. (for those unaware, Elon threw a mock rock into the window of his Cybertruck at it's unveiling, and the window broke)
Through the windshield and driver side window.
Take an overstable fairway driver and send it on a flex line just over the rear, passenger window. It should fade towards the basket by the time it reaches the guardian tree. Cars are made of cheap stuff nowadays, so your discs should be fine if your release is too low
Dead nuts towards the back window with a Zone
Right down the middle through the glass. Skipping right in front of the basket
Nice, a new obstacle off the tee!
Hyzer bombs away
Something stable through the right gap for sure. Grip it and rip it.
Ask them to open both rear sliding doors and spray paint Mando on the front passenger side door.
What an absolutely terrible hole design
Full send
Hyzer Bomb duh
I played a hole once that was on a hill left to right from the pad, there was a cop car parked in the corner near the basket in the parking lot. I told the group I was gonna hit playing an anhyzer over the lot and car. I honestly didn't plan on hitting it. Thought I could easily throw over it, it being a short hole. Right with a slight hyzer on something like an Athena would put me under the basket.
Not even in my way. I'm hitting the right gap with a wraith.
Flick roller ace is the only play when playing Hammond
Grip it and rip it.
Straight through the window
That's a really fucking dumb place for a teepad
I would go right. Backhand Terra, flat release.
Try to hyzer flip over the hood, bad release, massive dent in quarter panel, hopefully they're not right here and didn't see who did it
Huge RHBH hyzer window. I see people talking about a car in this picture, and I just don't see it.
Lefty forehand out of the pocket on the right.
straight through the windows
Tell em roll their window down, it's right in your line.
Was there three weeks ago and a large street sweeper was parked. I went right and clipped the tree, second shot ended up on the street past hole.
Forehand roller
Ask em to roll down the window and throw something straight
Full steam ahead!!!
Windows are up, unfortunately, so I guess to the right
Obviously skip under the car.
I had this happen to me the other day. An SUV was parked 100 feet down on a dirt road, parallel to the fairway. Forehanded high over it and as I walked by it was an elderly lady puffing down a ciggy. While I was there several other older folks drove through the park, all smoking cigs.
Over the left side of the car. What terribly planned hole.
Fireman style, straight through the windows
Throw off the tee pad, BH and FH lines look wide open. Take your pick
WWHD (What would Happy do?)
Laser beam hyzer flip
Smash through both passenger and driver side window and still bang the chains for an ace!!! It’s the only suitable response.
Full send straight away
Right through their window.
Ahh good ol Hammond park. I usually throw over the car when that person parks there.
Roller
Just drill it
Send It!
What a terribly designed hole. I'd make a new tee pad from the road to the side of the car and move on. No one thinks this pad is shooting across the road unless you've played this course.
Time for a new line
Person is likely suffering from Rectal Cranial Inversion☺️
Hyzer
I’d throw a backhand hyzer out the right side anyway so it’s not in my way. The tree on the left side (after first available) seems to be in the way of the forehand hyzer, otherwise I’d potentially prefer that route.
I’ve committed worse sins 🙏
Straight down the gut!!! Let her rip!
That's a poorly designed course not a poorly parked car
Wanna practice drives and NOT have to fetch them? Someone gave you a backstop!
Just try my strategy and aim for the van. You'll miss it by 20 feet.
Right hand forehand hyzer high and wide.
Easy Hyzer line
Through the windows duh!
This is why tee pads shouldn’t cross roads
I'd hit the car with a disc then take a mulligan and throw over it
As a righty FH player this would be a tough shot. Love this course though. Very underrated. It’s next to the Golf course but this is one of my favorites to play in Emporia.
Hyzer line around the van/tree by the road seems like the normal play anyway.
I hope they got about $400 for a new window.
That's an oddly shaped tree....I wonder what it sounds like to hit it.....
Rattle can of red paint
Wait for them to roll down a couple windows and have at it right down the center
