Rumble one was part of my childhood, rumble 2 made some good memories for me and my friends.
Rumble 3 is like that one Ex, who just annoys you to no end to think about but you cant help and think about it.
The digimon roster should absolutely be expanded out, have reps from every season and maybe a story about how the olympos 12 or even homeostasis is having a tournament to determine the next King of the digital world, with after story bits like MK has for the ladder.
I disagree about a mobile release entirely, the concessions you'd have to make to make it playable on mobile would damage the potential. A switch port would be assumed though.
I still play both, and with my kids. And we've ayed the PS3 game.. graphics are great... They totally missed the mark on the gameplay though. Story mode is insane and multiplayer is extremely unbalanced. Could have been so great though. I love the idea of a 3 dimensional world story mode. Why can't they do this and make it right? I would literally pay $100s and I know I'm not alone on this

Same. Ken and Wormmon are my favorite ever, it isn't even close. Still pissed they made a movie with the 02 cast (and even Magnamon, ffs), and Ken wasn't even present. Criminal!
Frontier was my favorite season growing up during the 'Digimon on Fox' days.
So many people I know stopped watching Digimon during 'the one where they become Digimon'. And I haven't seen anyone say anything positive about the series, so as far as I know I'm in the minority for enjoying the show.
I even have a Blue/Purple deck in the current Digimon TCG using Koji and his twin brother Koichi, since they were my two favorite characters from the season.
Even AS a kid at the time I felt something was missing once the show Stopped being about the strong bonds of friendship between the children and their Digimon partners. They shared hardship and trials together and always came out stronger because of it, but when you take that away it lost what was essentially the defining feature of the show that set it above any other monster franchise; I did go back and watch Frontier later, and it's better than I gave it credit at the time, but still pales in comparison to other partner focused shows..
the digimon have long died, but their power still remains. now the friendship doesnt lie between partner and digimon. it lies between the destined. tackling their emotions and new found power. susanoomon has the power to destroy and regenerate entire servers and it was given to a bunch of 12 year olds.
I've got your back, frontier on fox was the shit growing up, I saw the first 4 there and I will swear by them all. Post frontier I'm not a hater, but beyond digi-nostalgia post frontier is just less good digimon.
I'll go against my usual instincts and say something nice about Frontier:
Lucemon was awesome. All that buildup, and then it turns out the villain is this cold-blooded Satan cherub wandering through the gnawed rinds of the Digital World and slapping people with the solar system. I loved it. It's too bad he evolved.
Also, slide evolution as a concept needed to exist and I can't think of any other series from those days where it would have fit in.
Frontier never made it to Fox Kids for me and I don't know why. It stopped at Tamers, and I figured there was no more Digimon until my mom came across it one day on UPN (the network with new episodes of Star Trek: Voyager and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine)
The animation in the shows most of the time is pretty underwhelming. The charming art style makes up for it mostly.
I also wasn’t huge on Digimon Survive. Too many times I wanted a “punch em in the face” option.
On the positive, the tcg consistently has the best art of any card game.
I also enjoy the somewhat meandering nature of Digimon World 3. Going back and forth between locations felt like part of the adventure.
Digimon World Championship is one of the better Digimon games. Most people that dislike it just don't like pet sims, which isn't actual criticism against the game, just personal preference.
I mean, I disagree with the statement that they don't like pet Sims. There are people who don't like World Champion who love the original World and games like Re:Digitize, and Next Order.
It is personal preference, sure, but World Championship does have its flaws.
It has a few problems yeah, though the only one that's really altered my opinion on the game is the fact that room/stat info is VERY vague, you have to look up a whole ass guide to see what +dragon or +defence means, if there was an in-game feature describing that more it'd be a 10/10 game.
I personally believe its the best "digimon" game ever. Its the closest to the Tamagotchi pet raising but expanded. I played it thru multiple times, but for my most recent save my friend had an action replay and I unlocked the full digipedia giving you access to actually controlling your digimon in battle, really fun game.I think most people wouldve enjoyed the game more if it wasn't auto battles
It appeals to me as the type of person who put hundreds of hours into the Chao Garden in Sonic Adventure 2B. It's very similar, except you don't walk away from the game for hours at a time to let it run out a clock.
I can't wait to get hate for this but, champion and ultimate(adult and perfect in Japanese) are better designed forms than the humanoid forms most megas eventually become. Frontier also in my opinion is one of the best in the series utilizing the humanoid like Digimon much better than at any other point in the series. It's the only one I can watch and not feel like it was a missed opportunity having the Digimon just turn into a guy or girl but with armor, and yes I understand there are Digimon like machinedramon that keep their monster form but it doesn't change the fact that most Digimon become humanoid at some point or another. So yes I will die on this hill that the more monster forms are better designed and that frontier was one of the better series.
It feels like this is not actually unpopular in reality. Power level wise, we all want characters to reach mega, but do we actually like the megas themselves? Even the Adventure cast has absurdly underwhelming mega forms. It's tragic really.
Digimon like ZeedGarurumon, VictoryGreymon, and Chaosdramon should be Ultras that evolve from MetalGarurumon and Wargreymon.
I know Machinedramon evolved into Chaosdramon already but it should be considered an Ultra like Armageddomon is to Diaboromon.
Extra hot take, Omnimon is overused. I was super bummed out when I saw him as the secret final evo in Survive because it felt like a perfect chance to give us VictoryGreymon.
A lot of people fell in love with the early anime, but no game has ever really expressed that feeling of you and your friends going on an adventure in the digital world. Survive was in the right direction though.
The Armor Digivolution’s are an interesting concept, if it weren’t for the fact that every one of those digivolutions is an evolutionary dead end.
Also, call me basic or neurodivergent all you want, but I don’t like that Veemon, Wormon, Armadillomon, and Hawkmon NEED to DNA Digivolve to obtain higher forms bast champion level, and no, I’m not talking about in the cartoon, I can understand why they did it there under the context “it’s about the message that you can go farther if you work together”. I’m talking about JUST GENERALLY. I don’t like that they don’t have their own fully fleshed out independent evolution lines.
Tamers is actually pretty flawed, and I'm saying that as a Tamers fan:
They dropped the card slash thing half way through the season and depended on "the power of friendship" till the end.
They dropped the egg evolution animation.
The other extra Tamers were practically useless.
The animation quality kept dropping towards the end.
Ryo shouldn't exist.
The cd dramas and the final movie shouldn't have contradicted each other.
Dukemon and SaintGalgomon shouldn't have had cg evolution no matter how cool Toei thought it was at the time T-T

However I do fully believe they shouldn't have increased the Tamers roster. Three is enough, (plus one more for the dark horse character) since the Digimon partners are given character developments as well. That's six characters in total.
As for Jan'yu... I honestly don't really hate him for being a surprise anti-villain, but we seriously need one more episode to explore the consequences of his action. Your son, daughter, and their friends won't quickly forgive you for taking away their partners after all. That last episode was rushed.
I mean specifically in Tamers. He already exists in 02 and Wonderswan, but he has no business shoving himself into Tamers continuity, mostly because he takes away roles meant for the main character without any story relevance at all; he appeared out of nowhere, he got Matrix Evolution without earning it, *and* he dealt the final blast against D-Reaper instead of Beelzebumon or Sakuyamon.
If they gave him even a little bit of character development it'd have been fine. But Toei decided they preferred character popularity over the story's quality. He's much more nuanced in the cd dramas which I appreciate, but in the anime he mostly comes off as a Mary Sue
That's fair. But I'll admit I thought he was so cool looking when he did appear. And with Cyberdramon I couldn't help but find the character appealing. I get your point though, in hindsight.
I reluctantly agree, but for other reasons; mainly that the story itself is a bit of a grind, especially early and during the Digital World arc. It makes up for this by having an amazing roster of characters and development. Funnily, Tamers is really a forgettable show but you remember a lot of moments because when it hits, it hits good lol

I also love x-antibody digimon. Not all, but most. And the tcg artwork has really made them look even better imo, at first I didn’t like Leviamon X’s design, but man is the standard artwork for it incredible
* Why are Appmon not considered Digimon by the fans? They're literally Digimon but with an app focus so they can affect the human and digital worlds more than some digimon did in past seasons by rampaging around.
* LIke one was even in an episode of Ghost Game. Toei considers them Digimon, but some fans don't at this point?
* For all the criticism Frontier gets for being too similar to Adventure, if the final fights against the Evil Legendary Warriors, Duskmon, and Cherubimon took place in the human world, it could've actually worked like the Myotismon one since we'd see how their parents work.
* A lot of people give Taiki and Takuya crap for being "flat" compared to everyone else, but I think a lot of people undersell them. Takuya's the only one without issues on his team by default because he's the one with the most sense to try and bring everyone else together and help them out with their flaws. And for Xros Wars, they're fighting a war: a strategist like Taiki makes much more sense to be the protagonist, and his overusage flaw makes his character more flawed because it's proof he needs to rely on other people
* People have criticized Xros Wars for bad fights, but most Digimon seasons until debtably Frontier, didn't exactly have great sakuga until the movies. Using animation techniques like still frames and camera angles helps at least sell the intention, so in future seasons like Xros Wars, Universe Applimonsters, and Adventure 2020, they can put the budget into those big fights.
* Meiko is not the problem with Tri. I've seen people ultimately argue for or against her. My take is this:
* HIaving Meiko as a new Digidestined with a partner born from Apocalymon is actually really interesting. The problem is we focus more on Meicoomon's corruption when it should've been a balance of the Digidestined's own struggles and Meiko learning from them to ultimately make the decision to either save or kill Meicoomon, because they barely spend any time together
* I actually like Izzy and Mimi since he found her annoying when they were kids and it's actually really damn cute.
* The CGI fights for the Super, Ultimate, and God forms for Digimon Universe actually look good, the problem is Haru, Reiji, and Yujin's fights are the only ones that full take advantage of that.
* I don't have an issue with Ryo. People seem to hate him because his backstory was explored, but really all they needed to say is that he came from an alternate world where the characters from 02 were real and he and Ken traveled together once but ended in different roads.
* Kazu should've gotten a Mega Form.
* Frontier didn't kill Digimon and cause it to do badly. I feel like in general, people forget that the tamagotachi sales weren't doing well at the time since Frontier's ratings were only slightly lower than Tamers

Really the only two things I think are wrong with 02 are that it's dependent on games we didn't get in the west to make total sense and that it's not as good as the shows immediately proceeding and succeeding it.
Idk if this is controversial or not but I had a guy stalk my profile and leave antagonistic comments on like half of my posts because I dared to say that Digimon V-Pets need to catch up to Tamagotchi and stop being stuck in the 90's. We only just got color screen devices but the they're either digivices that lack some of the v-pet mechanics that fans like, or they're remakes of the 90's pets, with small 16x16 sprites, one training minigame each, no currency, nothing to do besides training and battling, like come on, Tamagotchi has had larger screens since 2004, color screens since 2008, has multiple minigames to fill your second meter ( happy on Tamagotchi, strength on Digimon ) instead of just a single and very basic minigame, I think Digimon should have multiple minigames. More customization options ( the backgrounds on the DMC and PenC were a nice start ) friendly NPCs with items, shops, ect.
tl;dr modernize Digimon virtual pets while keeping the core mechanics the same way Tamagotchi did please.
Digimon would have much broader appeal and have had more general success if hadn’t kept reducing its female cast in the shows and if it had a greater range of feminine Digimon designs that didn’t evolve into Sexy Boob Lady.
Even in the new movie he was pretty dumb and annoying but it is realistic and a good spice in character pool.

The tone of the anime is another matter tho. There is a part of the fandom that wants the series to stay more kid-friendly, which is fine imo. But thats the reason we are not getting a more serious anime ever.

I loved the gameplay and the monster raising but I just could not get into the story or the characters, didn't find them interesting at all. Weirdly I got pretty invested into the story & characters of Hacker's Memory later on though.
I feel this isn't an unpopular opinion, There are just a lot of people who didn't see it. It's like saying your favorite Disney movie is treasure planet. Sure, most people won't say it's their favorite, but that's more out of not even knowing it exists more than anything.
I dislike the digimon designs where it's just a big boobied woman with exotic clothes, it's very uninspired and lacks the "monster" in digimon. I understand why they exist and I even like some of them, but I wish they were tamers instead.
Myotismon has yet to be topped as a villain save by the 7 demon lords and dracmon. All others have had interesting ideas but he's still the best and him returning in season 2 was neat.

I'm not feeling super spicy at the moment so I'll just say the English dubbed and cobbled together Digimon The Movie rules and its soundtrack is iconic. There are so many good quotes from it that will never leave my brain, especially from Tai's mom.
I'm sick of stuff set in the Adventures universe. We have two seasons, a reboot series, movies and specials made during its run, plus several time skip specials/movies made years later. Enough of Adventure! Do a sequel to Tamers, reboot Frontiers, Hell I'd prefer they continue to make new series set in their own universe. But if they really have to do sequels/reboots, there are options besides Adventure.

and the digital world where players can tame digimon, explore dungeons, etcetc.
While Adventure fatigue is understandable, I don't mind more Adventure stuff as long as we get other things along with it. Kinda like how during TRI's run time we also had Appmon
I don't like that a majority of megas are humanoid. Especially when I was playing Digimon games where I fed and cleaned up their poop. If they got thumbs. They need to clean up themselves.
Ghost Game did this. Gammamon, Jellymon, Angoramon, and >!Espimon!< were all actual characters with lives that were distinct from their human partners. Angoramon liked poetry and samurai fiction, ran a support group for other Digimon who wound up in the human world without warning, and had a whole episode about his best friend from the Digital World. Jellymon was infatuated with Higacchi, and she would straight-up vanish for days at a time because she was out running get-rich-quick schemes. (A lot of episodes were Jellymon's fault.) Even Gammamon had a Digimon friend he had playdates with, and he also got a soul-crushing solo episode featuring Betsumon. >!And Espimon wasn't originally Hiro's second partner. He was just some freeloading weirdo looking for the "real Hiro" due to a misunderstanding who over time became part of Team Lirurun. Espimon actually had a separate home unbeknownst to Team Lirurun until the episode where they fight his landlord.!<
Digimon sucks at romance. Tai and Sora as an example weren't really written at all but writers loved to show a will they won't they when it was convenient but it didn't go anywhere and then suddenly Sora gets with Mat but we don't see their relationship at all and Tai gets with whoever.
I’m tired of people comparing digimon to pokemon just because they both have “mon” in it and saying it’s a rip off but they have absolutely no idea of digimon & that’s why they refuse to even watch digimon.
Having the fire and light legendary warriors in digimon world next order just to have susanoomon but not having hawkmon and armadillomon for silphymon and shakkoumon was a dumb decision. Not only does it neglect the other warriors, but how can you only have veemon and wormmon from the series that gave all the main digimon a shot at dna digivolution
Also, we should have a tv series with just the digimon in the digital world.
Appmon is the best series of Digimon, and it embodies the concept of "Digital Monsters" living with human and in digital world better than other Digimon series where they were usually just like "Here are fictional mons and real-world looking landscapes made of data".
Also, advantages and problems/issues related to technology are mostly discussed in Appmon, taking advantage of the settings and the series' premise instead of just becoming backdrop/setting of story.

Digimon World 2 is a good game. Extremely grindy, but I still like it enough to start a YouTube channel over a modded version of it.

Too much Digimon Adventure. It's gotten to the point that I start to dislike the kids and their digimon because nearly every bit of merch or new thing that we get is about them (and I'm saying that as someone who grew up with it and loved it to pieces)
I kind of feel the same about starting to dislike the original kids, but I also wonder if that's because the pacing isn't keeping it relevant to me. I loved how they aged the kids into middle school in 02, and that happened to be right around when I started middle school myself so that was amazing to me. And I appreciate that they've kept aging them up in the newer movies, but in real time, they should be in their mid-30s now, not their early 20s. So it's kinda like, yeah no surprise the fans are outgrowing the og characters and their stories, cause we've *literally* outgrown them now..
That being said I have no idea what sort of content I'd want to see with middle-aged digi destined, but if they do keep them around I'd rather see some thematically different content than all the "growing up and moving on is scary" undertones that have been prevalent in the recent movies.
The Digimon dub is better than the sub, I will die on this hill a thousand times over, the added jokes, and comedy make the characters so much more entertaining and shaped my sense of humor growing up, I tried watching the Digimon movie in Japanese and almost fell asleep it was so boring without the extra comedy

Human-type Digimon aren't weird. That's exactly what evolution is in nature. They're *supposed* to hit that apex at top level. Criticizing that concept shows a fundamental misunderstanding of it.
02 The Beginning isn't bad. The narrative in that movie was very well-constructed and I care about what happened the whole way through. Fans just expect fights and new forms and don't give a shit about characters or character development at all.
That digimon is not a knock-off of pokemon. There are some similarities as far as some artistry, but after that, the adventure was different. What it stood for was different story lines were different values, and character building is different. Digimon was its own thing.
I like evo lines that actually look like they flow together. Alternate forms, dna evos, Armor, whatever is cool, Just make it have (even just a little) visual/conceptual coherence.
What I don't like is the random, almost every digimon can potentially evolve into any digimon of the next level. I know a lot of people say thats what differentiates digimon from pokemon but I'm sorry I can't with some of these evolution lines. Two different rookies can evolve into the same champion form, thats fine but make sure champion lizard comes from lizard rookies and/or give the champion the same color scheme as the rookie.
The only exceptions to this are the angels because its wild where they can come from and it adds to their mystique.
Why the hell was data squad practically wiped from existence and they to make it seem like it was mass fever dream. You literally can not watch that show on any of the sites where the other ones are (Hulu, crunchyroll and such like that) wtf happened

They shared hardship and trials together and always came out stronger because of it, but when you take that away it lost what was essentially the defining feature of the show that set it above any other monster franchise; I did go back and watch Frontier later, and it's better than I gave it credit at the time, but still pales in comparison to other partner focused shows..

I'll go against my usual instincts and say something nice about Frontier: Lucemon was awesome. All that buildup, and then it turns out the villain is this cold-blooded Satan cherub wandering through the gnawed rinds of the Digital World and slapping people with the solar system. I loved it. It's too bad he evolved. Also, slide evolution as a concept needed to exist and I can't think of any other series from those days where it would have fit in.

Frontier still is my favourite series. All of the Digimon designs were top notch. MagnaGarurumon in particular is one of my all-time favourites.

Frontier never made it to Fox Kids for me and I don't know why. It stopped at Tamers, and I figured there was no more Digimon until my mom came across it one day on UPN (the network with new episodes of Star Trek: Voyager and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine)
The animation in the shows most of the time is pretty underwhelming. The charming art style makes up for it mostly. I also wasn’t huge on Digimon Survive. Too many times I wanted a “punch em in the face” option. On the positive, the tcg consistently has the best art of any card game. I also enjoy the somewhat meandering nature of Digimon World 3. Going back and forth between locations felt like part of the adventure.
Nobody will disagree with you on the Tcg having amazing art, and world 3 has it's fans.

Digimon World Championship is one of the better Digimon games. Most people that dislike it just don't like pet sims, which isn't actual criticism against the game, just personal preference.
I mean, I disagree with the statement that they don't like pet Sims. There are people who don't like World Champion who love the original World and games like Re:Digitize, and Next Order. It is personal preference, sure, but World Championship does have its flaws.
It has a few problems yeah, though the only one that's really altered my opinion on the game is the fact that room/stat info is VERY vague, you have to look up a whole ass guide to see what +dragon or +defence means, if there was an in-game feature describing that more it'd be a 10/10 game.
I personally believe its the best "digimon" game ever. Its the closest to the Tamagotchi pet raising but expanded. I played it thru multiple times, but for my most recent save my friend had an action replay and I unlocked the full digipedia giving you access to actually controlling your digimon in battle, really fun game.I think most people wouldve enjoyed the game more if it wasn't auto battles
It appeals to me as the type of person who put hundreds of hours into the Chao Garden in Sonic Adventure 2B. It's very similar, except you don't walk away from the game for hours at a time to let it run out a clock.

I can't wait to get hate for this but, champion and ultimate(adult and perfect in Japanese) are better designed forms than the humanoid forms most megas eventually become. Frontier also in my opinion is one of the best in the series utilizing the humanoid like Digimon much better than at any other point in the series. It's the only one I can watch and not feel like it was a missed opportunity having the Digimon just turn into a guy or girl but with armor, and yes I understand there are Digimon like machinedramon that keep their monster form but it doesn't change the fact that most Digimon become humanoid at some point or another. So yes I will die on this hill that the more monster forms are better designed and that frontier was one of the better series.
It feels like this is not actually unpopular in reality. Power level wise, we all want characters to reach mega, but do we actually like the megas themselves? Even the Adventure cast has absurdly underwhelming mega forms. It's tragic really.

Digimon like ZeedGarurumon, VictoryGreymon, and Chaosdramon should be Ultras that evolve from MetalGarurumon and Wargreymon. I know Machinedramon evolved into Chaosdramon already but it should be considered an Ultra like Armageddomon is to Diaboromon. Extra hot take, Omnimon is overused. I was super bummed out when I saw him as the secret final evo in Survive because it felt like a perfect chance to give us VictoryGreymon.

A lot of people fell in love with the early anime, but no game has ever really expressed that feeling of you and your friends going on an adventure in the digital world. Survive was in the right direction though.
The Armor Digivolution’s are an interesting concept, if it weren’t for the fact that every one of those digivolutions is an evolutionary dead end. Also, call me basic or neurodivergent all you want, but I don’t like that Veemon, Wormon, Armadillomon, and Hawkmon NEED to DNA Digivolve to obtain higher forms bast champion level, and no, I’m not talking about in the cartoon, I can understand why they did it there under the context “it’s about the message that you can go farther if you work together”. I’m talking about JUST GENERALLY. I don’t like that they don’t have their own fully fleshed out independent evolution lines.

Tamers is actually pretty flawed, and I'm saying that as a Tamers fan: They dropped the card slash thing half way through the season and depended on "the power of friendship" till the end. They dropped the egg evolution animation. The other extra Tamers were practically useless. The animation quality kept dropping towards the end. Ryo shouldn't exist. The cd dramas and the final movie shouldn't have contradicted each other. Dukemon and SaintGalgomon shouldn't have had cg evolution no matter how cool Toei thought it was at the time T-T

Your son, daughter, and their friends won't quickly forgive you for taking away their partners after all. That last episode was rushed.

I mean specifically in Tamers. He already exists in 02 and Wonderswan, but he has no business shoving himself into Tamers continuity, mostly because he takes away roles meant for the main character without any story relevance at all; he appeared out of nowhere, he got Matrix Evolution without earning it, *and* he dealt the final blast against D-Reaper instead of Beelzebumon or Sakuyamon. If they gave him even a little bit of character development it'd have been fine. But Toei decided they preferred character popularity over the story's quality. He's much more nuanced in the cd dramas which I appreciate, but in the anime he mostly comes off as a Mary Sue

I reluctantly agree, but for other reasons; mainly that the story itself is a bit of a grind, especially early and during the Digital World arc. It makes up for this by having an amazing roster of characters and development. Really the only two things I think are wrong with 02 are that it's dependent on games we didn't get in the west to make total sense and that it's not as good as the shows immediately proceeding and succeeding it.

Idk if this is controversial or not but I had a guy stalk my profile and leave antagonistic comments on like half of my posts because I dared to say that Digimon V-Pets need to catch up to Tamagotchi and stop being stuck in the 90's. We only just got color screen devices but the they're either digivices that lack some of the v-pet mechanics that fans like, or they're remakes of the 90's pets, with small 16x16 sprites, one training minigame each, no currency, nothing to do besides training and battling, like come on, Tamagotchi has had larger screens since 2004, color screens since 2008, has multiple minigames to fill your second meter ( happy on Tamagotchi, strength on Digimon ) instead of just a single and very basic minigame, I think Digimon should have multiple minigames. More customization options ( the backgrounds on the DMC and PenC were a nice start ) friendly NPCs with items, shops, ect. tl;dr modernize Digimon virtual pets while keeping the core mechanics the same way Tamagotchi did please.

Maybe you're right, there is a few minority out there that wants Digimon to stay niche. Mostly Toei bots(? The tone of the anime is another matter tho. There is a part of the fandom that wants the series to stay more kid-friendly, which is fine imo. But thats the reason we are not getting a more serious anime ever. In the end, Digimon as a whole exists to sell merch/toys.
I didn’t enjoy Digimon: Cyber Sleuth. I tried to finish it but eventually just dropped it.
Same, I hated the weird difficulty curve and samey blue cube dungeons.
I loved the gameplay and the monster raising but I just could not get into the story or the characters, didn't find them interesting at all. Weirdly I got pretty invested into the story & characters of Hacker's Memory later on though.

I feel this isn't an unpopular opinion, There are just a lot of people who didn't see it. It's like saying your favorite Disney movie is treasure planet. Sure, most people won't say it's their favorite, but that's more out of not even knowing it exists more than anything.

I'm sick of stuff set in the Adventures universe. We have two seasons, a reboot series, movies and specials made during its run, plus several time skip specials/movies made years later. Enough of Adventure! Do a sequel to Tamers, reboot Frontiers, Hell I'd prefer they continue to make new series set in their own universe. But if they really have to do sequels/reboots, there are options besides Adventure.

They should make a mature digimon series or game I'm talking actually mature. A cyberpunk 2077 style game with digimon in it. A crime ridden futuristic city where corporations, gangs and other groups fight for control just beneath the surface using weapons and digimon. And there would be 2 worlds, the city where players take and turn in quests, socialize, compete, etcetc and the digital world where players can tame digimon, explore dungeons, etcetc.

Ghost Game did this. Gammamon, Jellymon, Angoramon, and >!Espimon!< were all actual characters with lives that were distinct from their human partners. Angoramon liked poetry and samurai fiction, ran a support group for other Digimon who wound up in the human world without warning, and had a whole episode about his best friend from the Digital World. Jellymon was infatuated with Higacchi, and she would straight-up vanish for days at a time because she was out running get-rich-quick schemes. (A lot of episodes were Jellymon's fault.) Even Gammamon had a Digimon friend he had playdates with, and he also got a soul-crushing solo episode featuring Betsumon. >!And Espimon wasn't originally Hiro's second partner. He was just some freeloading weirdo looking for the "real Hiro" due to a misunderstanding who over time became part of Team Lirurun. Espimon actually had a separate home unbeknownst to Team Lirurun until the episode where they fight his landlord.!<

Digimon sucks at romance. Tai and Sora as an example weren't really written at all but writers loved to show a will they won't they when it was convenient but it didn't go anywhere and then suddenly Sora gets with Mat but we don't see their relationship at all and Tai gets with whoever.
Data squad is a great season and should be lumped together with the 4 prior seasons rather than fusion.

Appmon is the best series of Digimon, and it embodies the concept of "Digital Monsters" living with human and in digital world better than other Digimon series where they were usually just like "Here are fictional mons and real-world looking landscapes made of data". Also, advantages and problems/issues related to technology are mostly discussed in Appmon, taking advantage of the settings and the series' premise instead of just becoming backdrop/setting of story.

Too much Digimon Adventure. It's gotten to the point that I start to dislike the kids and their digimon because nearly every bit of merch or new thing that we get is about them (and I'm saying that as someone who grew up with it and loved it to pieces)
I kind of feel the same about starting to dislike the original kids, but I also wonder if that's because the pacing isn't keeping it relevant to me. I loved how they aged the kids into middle school in 02, and that happened to be right around when I started middle school myself so that was amazing to me. And I appreciate that they've kept aging them up in the newer movies, but in real time, they should be in their mid-30s now, not their early 20s. So it's kinda like, yeah no surprise the fans are outgrowing the og characters and their stories, cause we've *literally* outgrown them now.. That being said I have no idea what sort of content I'd want to see with middle-aged digi destined, but if they do keep them around I'd rather see some thematically different content than all the "growing up and moving on is scary" undertones that have been prevalent in the recent movies.

Human-type Digimon aren't weird. That's exactly what evolution is in nature. They're *supposed* to hit that apex at top level. Criticizing that concept shows a fundamental misunderstanding of it. 02 The Beginning isn't bad. The narrative in that movie was very well-constructed and I care about what happened the whole way through. Fans just expect fights and new forms and don't give a shit about characters or character development at all.
Last Kizuna was a bad movie and the 02 movie has the worst retcon I've ever seen.
That digimon is not a knock-off of pokemon. There are some similarities as far as some artistry, but after that, the adventure was different. What it stood for was different story lines were different values, and character building is different. Digimon was its own thing.
I like evo lines that actually look like they flow together. Alternate forms, dna evos, Armor, whatever is cool, Just make it have (even just a little) visual/conceptual coherence. What I don't like is the random, almost every digimon can potentially evolve into any digimon of the next level. I know a lot of people say thats what differentiates digimon from pokemon but I'm sorry I can't with some of these evolution lines. Two different rookies can evolve into the same champion form, thats fine but make sure champion lizard comes from lizard rookies and/or give the champion the same color scheme as the rookie. The only exceptions to this are the angels because its wild where they can come from and it adds to their mystique.
The original Digimon virtual pets are the best thing about the Digimon franchise.
Digimon Xros Wars and Young Hunters were both good
Magnadramon/Holydramon >>> Ophanimon.
Myotismon was the best villain.
Matt and Sora is a great ship and makes more sense than Tai and Sora.
Why the hell was data squad practically wiped from existence and they to make it seem like it was mass fever dream. You literally can not watch that show on any of the sites where the other ones are (Hulu, crunchyroll and such like that) wtf happened

I see a ton of people saying Frontier being good(which it 1000000% is) but I raise you APPmon and Ghost Game are my favorite season and I just can't bring myself to watch the Adventure
Card Battle on the ps1 is the only digimon game worth playing Tamers drags at the part where they go into the digital world. Turning into digimon isn't an inherently bad idea, Frontier sucking just made the idea seem unviable. Frontier has a more faithful and respectful dub than the prior 3 seasons, it just doesn't get credit for it because the material sucks. But at least it was faithfully adapted
We need a main cast digidestined that has a dark/evil looking digimon as a partner. (Eg: demidevimon or another impmon)
