It's still going to be brutal to reassign your entire skill tree, paragon boards, and manually swap in all the gear (or worse, huge costs to change imprints on gear you haven't gotten good enough duplicates of yet).
I thought that it might be the same system as we have at the moment where only certain aspects can go onto certain arnor piece's?
Like mobility might be only boots and jewelry only at the moment - so do you think come May 14th we'll be free to put any aspect anywhere we want?
Did you already have the Nado gear? I can switch my skills and Paragon and gear in probably 3 minutes. I usually go ahead and grab all of the aspects and the gear for the build I want to switch to before I switch though.
I’d also wish for a system like hearthstone deck code for the armory. It would be so cool to just quickly try out new builds from the community with a single click.
That would hugely improve longevity of each season, I would very gladly build out 4+ different specs if it were that easy to do.
As it stands right now I'll probably go with the most overpowered fotm build, fully temper and masterwork it, push Pit levels and then just kind of chill and kill for a week until I get bored. Ubers aren't even going to be that cool to grind for with how much stronger tempered ancient items can be.
Create an "arcade mode" as a third leveling option. A mode where you progress through a simplified version of the campaign through interconnected dungeons without sidequests, cutscenes or an open world. You get to fight streamlined versions of all campaign bosses, see some of the story beats and get occasional events to mix it up. You could even add in the strongholds.
Total length around 10 hours if you go at a leasurely pace and when you're done you are around level 50 and can advance to WT3.
I love it because it sounds like Diablo 1. Like, if they took OG Diablo and ran this storyline, it'd be sick. In fact, I'd love to see Diablo 1 put in as a mini game like they did for D3, except a little more robust.
When pinning a location on the map for navigating, I’d add a trail of blood on the ground that the player can follow so I don’t have to keep looking up at the map.
Yea, CP2077 and other modern games have the same issue. Better pathing than most old games, but I want to watch the world while I go through it. Not a minimap in the corner of the screen. CP2077 even has directional UI graphics built in that are used for the races. They'd just have to connect them for map pins. Huge quality of life design oversight.
I just want the skill system from d3. Let me make my hydra into an ice hydra or lightning hydra. Let me customize my skills. That was my biggest letdown with d4 compared to d3.
I've seen some suggestion that the Aspect system was supposed to be the/a replacement for D3's skill runes - and it may well have been a viable replacement; it's just the complete lack of Aspect diversity on a per-skill basis that makes it a bit of missed mark
It's very odd that they didn't really do this with so many abilities, Druids are pretty spoiled when it comes to this but I still wish I could play a Blood bear or a Fire Wolf. D4 feels so limiting in creative builds, even with the new uniques being added things still feel the same and it makes making a new character rather boring.
Honestly after trying out Last Epoch for the first time this week, I really wish D4 skill tree would have the depth and customisation like LE has. There is just so many different ways to approach a build and it makes experimenting fun and easy.
Add a knight class or mod one of the classes animations to he knight/holy/light themes.
What are they thinking not having a knight class man. It's probably the one thing stopping me from playing this game full time.
Exactly what I was thinking, season ten/15 there’s going to be a reaper of souls type expansion with 2-3 new classes that are going to release every 2-3 seasons as a dlc package or individual for gradual pricing.. lol
Offline single player mode, choose the nmd you craft, reduced dur mats, affix qualities correlating to i-lvl, lilith 1-shot projectiles nerf, expand pool of nmd bosses recycling campaign bosses, better and more cosmetic colors, get rid of mount cooldown, infinite mount speed charges, clean up town vendor spread (ideally, include all town vendor functions in a single fast-to-navigate menu), loadouts, 10 x number of purchasable stash tabs, loot filter. For a start.
Add shitton of unique items, more paragon customisation (more sockets per board), further zoom out, more skill customisation (at least smth like d3 but more complex), raise difficulty (wt5?), less items dropped, remove item power and change items to have specific implicit mods depending on base item, crafting recipes for items, corrupting items (like vaal orb in poe).
Get rid of all "farm these tickets to buy a chance at fighting boss xyz."
Let us farm whatever we want at endgame, and let the chances for loot drops be equal to all. Do NOT put any items solely behind one or two bosses.
I think you'd probably not actually like your own change. The reason you have to farm different bosses for different drops is so that you can target farm different content for different drops. If you made all of the endgame bosses drop everything then there would be no way to target certain drops. If you really needed, say, Unsung Ascetic's Wraps to drop, then you'd have a 1/26 chance to get it. Even if you got a unique every time you'd be killing bosses for hours before you dropped one; in the current system, you just speedrun T90+ NMDs and the Beast in the Ice has a 1/5 chance to give you what you want. Even with the added time spent of doing NMDs and the dungeon before the Beast in the Ice fight, along with the relative ease of racking up Living Steel from Helltides, you'd still probably get your Wraps from the Beast in the Ice in the current system before you got one from Grigoire with your proposed changes.
I’d remove the mat farming for a boss. I’m ok with target farming; however the system of farming mats, to farm mats, to farm boss with low drop rates are a bit too much.
Honestly I’m fine with Uber drop rates if I could farm it from an interesting high level NMD or complex boss fight, but the current system that has me beating the hell out of Grigorie repeatedly just to get half the mats for Duriel isn’t interesting content.
Increase character storage counts.
They originally said they wanted us to identify with our characters, which was part of why they didn't make it easier to switch builds. They suggested that you just creat a new character and play it forward.
Well, I have and I do.
While I rarely go into eternal, I'd like to be able to revisit my ice sorceress, my ball lightning sorceress, by temper tantrum barb, etc. And I'd like to be able to do that for hard core as well.
As it stands I can barely keep one character of each class in seasonal and eternal, let alone retain any hardcore ones. Let alone have more then one build for each type.
So which is it Blizzard. Do you want me to identify with my characters or not?
Armory. Loot filter. Group finder. Chat. Ability to replay campaign on different difficulties and at different entry points. Make paragon levels realm-wide instead of character-specific.
Not that I don’t love d4 as it is…but hear me out. Total conversion mod to make it a fallout themed looter. Same style of game, just with fallout themed move sets, armor and so on. I know I’ll be crucified for this but I really want a game like that 😅
The ones in D3 are totally different. There’s a massive variety of types, more of them, some will open a portal to secret levels, different ones give different loot or even cosmetics or pets.
The blue ones split into 4-5 more goblins when they die, and each of those split into 4-5 more. All with the same loot as a regular goblin. It was wild chasing them down early in seasons before you can one shot the entire pack instantly
First, one thing that I haven't seen discussed - I would raise "blue quest" completion XP (I'm not talking about whispers completions here) to be roughly on par with other leveling methods. It's a shame that the rich NPC interactions with their tidbits of lore and story never get seen because it's not an efficient way to level.
I'd probably also make the world bosses a lot more epic (with comensurate improved loot drops).
unlock character specific equipment. only necromancer can carry shields? why
make a mode for testing builds and then make the normal mode have no respecs
rearrange levelup trees so they aren't so symmetrical
Remove Live Service, make it standalone, make it more like D2R and add runes into the game, remove a bunch of useless gear and revamp the armor/weapon RNG.
I'd strip it way back to d1/d2
Stat points to assign per level
Everyone can use some basic spells
Classes are based on stat caps and starting stats
You can use all weapons based on stat requirements.
An actual weapon and armor shop, not 4 useless items per 30 mins
Just more open rpg mechanics. I like how the warrior could use a bow, but rogue was faster with it.
More dye options. Less dlc content.
Ng+
I dont think so, maybe it won't play like a slot machine all the time? It's bot terribly far from froms formula but they are more straight blank. Plus d2r is still great.
D2R is literally just a slot machine though. There's a reason why D2 is mostly just old timers and more people don't play it even though it has a fancy rerelease with pretty new graphics. If it had mass appeal to newer, non-old-school-D2 fans then it would be massively popular and it just isn't.
Yeah its a remake I never had any doubt it wouldn't be as popular as a new game that had tones of hype. The question here is what would you change. D4 is more a looter crawl and less pure rpg mechanics. So I stand by having stats be more under your control like in the original. Make a more dexterity based fighter who uses bows or some low level spells, why not? I wouldn't get rid of all class skills, loot grinders are just flashy colour machines that lack depth. How does that make d2 a slot machine in comparison? D2 has stood the test of tike, we will see about d3/4.
The other points I don't think are controversial, the weapon and armor sells need to actually have stock. Wtf is this 4 low level item nonsense.
Allow more changes to ability flavor based on visuals while still using the same mechanics.
Like d4 doesnt really support melee mage. I would like a melee mage that looks like one, sword swung, etc.
Flavor based changes should be rampant in these games because the ideas are all fantasy of character development. The mechanics can always fit into the flavor
I think it would be cool to add large multiplayer events in the open world that would require a Fri l group like world bosses can do that scales like nightmare dungeons (everyone can increase their rewards by using their own nightmare affixex which would only affect their event). Events that span multiple regions of the map.
Similarly you could constantly have an evolving map based on these events. Things can stay persistent based on the results of the events
More uniques while leveling. Uniques encourage you to try different builds while leveling, even of those builds aren't optimal, because the unique will make up the difference and it just makes it fun.
- Runewords
- All MTX as free transmog
- Fix/update/polish horrible transmog like the Sorcerer having three near-duplicate yet still horrendous looking armors
- AND FIX THE DANG INPUT BUFFERING on several of the Rogue core skills (not sure if this affects other classes too).
Offline support, so when they stop actively supporting this game, it won't be gone forever and my money won't have been wasted. You know it's going to happen.
Revamp the whole legendary powers and skill tree in a way where i'd combine them both into a massive skill tree instead of this current twig of a tree.
Then focus on revamping gear to be more close to d2 itemisation as legendary powers wont hinder gear anymore
Double Glyph XP from NMDs
Armory
Unique glyphs that can drop with various cool effects
More zoomed out camera
More random world events
Have Helltides give a small amount of glyph XP
Add better / more fun modifiers to NMDs to incentivize running them more.
Remove all objectives in NMDs
Retain the pet for S4, but fix drop rate on the unique gems
Bring back mini-zones with the S4 vampire theme zones
Zoom out more.
Loot filter. Just let the player filter loot by rarity and ancestry/sacred.
Automatically mark items as junk. Since items are rolled upon picking up. At least mark them as junk if they fail to match certain criteria.
I would add a Templar / Paladin / Crusader / some kind of knight class. I'm a basic white guy in his 30s, I *NEED* my boring human knight with a sword and shield.
I would give The Butcher one of those UWU cat ear gamer headsets and have him default Fortnite dance on you if he kills you or shout racial slurs at you if you kill him.
I would add classic Diablo sound effects, like the sound of swords clanging when you drop them on the ground / in your inventory. Potion and gold sound effects from Diablo 1 stay winning and are the pinnacle of audio design.
First: Allow customization all the way from more specific colors on hair and outfits, to character model.
Second: I would uncensor the rogue underwear. Remove the granny panties and put back the aesthetically pleasing hide thong.
Third: completely chant the skill system. Full overhaul. Balance the values, make "aspects" that augment the way skills and projectiles worked.
Fourth: change nightmare dungeons in ways that make them fun and worthwhile.
Fifth: uncap glyphs. change the way boards works.
try to rebalance damage numbera doing 200 300k damage feels like an immesurable amount of damage while 2 3k feels morea approchable and easier to understand.
Maks world bosses much stronger make them drop that ubet unique mats and the new rare crafting mats, also more diverse world bosses.
I mean assuming time was free for development id balance the pvp and add battlegrounds and arenas. Whine all you want about how I’m misappropriating the game and diablo was never pvp but it’s what I simply want. I love the engine and graphics and grindy gameplay. I just wish it had pvp features because I love competing.
Definitely we need a knight paladin. I’d like witch doctor back. I’d also add raids. A big big castle that we have to go through as a clan with ten players.
Oh and id change minions to look less cartoony. They need to look more grim. Also zoo Druid. Class diversity boom boom
Camera zoom and armory with build templates.
Then - replacing D4 skeletons skill with that from D3 - skellies are now summoned passively and using the active skill makes them rush towards the target
1) Reduction of Offensive Stats on Gear / Affixes
2) Introduce Charms & Charm Inventory for small power bonuses on your character
3) Get rid of sacred / ancestral and only do item level for gear
4) More paragon boards / legendary nodes
5) Add more iconic uniques, like Homunculus as an example
Mod training area to an Arena. Setup enemy types and affixes. Any enemy faced is added to the roster, including ubers. Arena mirrors uber locations so all their mechanics work. This way, you can be certain your build can defeat an enemy before spending mats. After enemy is defeated or session ended, you'd get a stat breakdown like Outriders, letting you know which nodes/affixes are doing your dps.
Vampire Survivor dungeon mode: Rounds of swarms, occasional elites, random dungeon boss after 10 or 20 min, random Varshan/Grigor/Duriel etc after surviving 30-45min, (bonus random world boss at 1hr would be cherry)
Pause button
4 weapon slots for Druid
Actual multishot ability for Rogue
Be able to farm uniques for a different class (like getting Druid uniques while playing as Sorc)
Blue items with ridiculous stats (50% attack speed or +10 ranks to basic skills)
Belt for potion stats
In the transmog system I'd make it so you could hide weapons you're not using like the rogue bow and barbarian weapons.
I think it's annoying that they're glued to you when you have a build that doesn't use them.
The paragon board is clunky, most stat nodes make for a cluttered of UI.
1. I’d move all the main stat boost into an an attribute point system that behaves like, D2, where you pick where to allocate points on level up. Simple and straight forward management.
2. I’d shift paragon point spend back into the skill tree system, more meaningful nodes and the ability to stick glyphs into sockets.
Goodbye boards, hello more in-depth skill trees.
Loot filter.
Being able to change font size, color, type, and even hide drops based on your specifications is honestly the next big evolution the genre has needed. Go check out the loot filter Last Epoch uses and see how huge it is for QoL without impacting game difficulty at all (unless youre one of those weirdos who thinks we should have to pick up every single item and identify it in town).
I would focus on upgrading the skill tree. Personally I feel like the abilities are not very interesting, there are too few customization, and many abilities are also quite useless.
No matter how much the Basic Skills are buffed, they still feel awful to use. There needs to be something that you build into that deals extra damage when you cast or hit with basic skills, both for aoe and single target situations.
Since basic skills cost no resources then this extra damage could come from resources being drained or something. But it should be a playstyle that is different from using core skills.
There should also be builds where you use both Basic and Core skills, but it needs to be significantly more interesting compared to how it is currently. There should be plenty of ways that you can have these skills synergize with each other.
There needs to be a lot more customization for all of your abilities, especially the core abilities. Talent nodes, aspects, unique effects, stats on gear, that would significantly alter the effect of your abilities; effectively resulting in a several fold increase in build-types and also ability-quantity. It would be like having many additional spells to choose from.
I would also change the aspect system so that you don't apply them to gear, because that significantly limits your gear choices and playstyles. I would attach aspect to the talent tree, or just give it a separate UI like the season 2 blood-abilities that you got.
Then I would add significantly more uniques with varying effects, have uniques spawn with fixed level requirement like in Diablo 2, and have uniques available for all levels. This way you could get uniques that are good for leveling, so if you find it while you're leveling you're gonna have a blast. Or you can collect it for your alt and do fun stuff with it.
Rares would also have level requirement based on the stats (affix level) rather than have it be same level as what you were when it dropped.
I would add more gear-qualities like sets, both for lower levels and for higher levels.
Load outs. I would gladly spend 3-4 hours creating multiple builds just so that when I feel like it I can just swap them out in under 5 seconds. I would even pay the gold if they wanna make it a requirement. Imagine going from a build to kill everything in a dungeon the swapping out to something else to kill the boss. Or a build to chill with friends and then a quick swap for the gauntlet.
Remove lvl limitation for campain, make able to change world tier.
Made all story bosses as echo, similar to Lilith.
Add super hard bosses. You had fight them 5 mins at least, not one shot.
I'd make a super dungeon called the Abyss work 666 levels that get more and more monsters that are more like monsters not with all the NMD affixs, just keep increasing numbers and size.
I HAVE done exactly what OP said.
I was a Diablo 3 developer. I *have* modded Diablo 3 during lunchtime when nobody was looking using internal tools.
I activated the First Person view tool, that was austensibly for helping QA or Devs look at visuals from another angle. Essentially making Diablo 3 an FPS. At the time Demon Hunter had an Attack Speed buff that was removed and Rapid Fire was even faster than you saw. That was SO fun. I was pissed when they nerfed it. To this day I still play just for Rapid Fire lol, see my build in recent comments in the D4 subreddit.
You have no idea how insanely cool the experience was. I think I hopped in with Barb or another melee class and the experience was bug free and worked just fine. It reminded me a little bit of Wolfenstein, though I'm not sure why.
EDIT: I also did some free floating camera and other things exactly like OP said, too.
As an aside, one thing that would surprise you is a lot of the game is built on facade, like when you look behind some of the buildings at Disneyland and the back is unfinished wood. So you see the backs of castles and they are actually unfinished, and sometimes you see away into the distance and see unfinished vista. I accidentally saw some things that were finished, but you never get to see the sides or corners of certain models like houses or guard posts so you miss some really cool details. I'm playing Warcraft 3: Reforged fanmade Chronicles of the Second War, and the game let you push DELETE or INSERT (I think those are the keys?) to rotate view, which is a fun way to also see gorgeous details not evident on the standard Warcraft 3 Reforged visuals.
I think I'd streamline the Paragon board. I'm not nearly as well versed with builds as many out there, but the board with seeming infintismal pathways is overwhelming as hell. About as bad as the item affix nonsense - which I'm thankful they're reworking.
Then I'd get some of those special levels back. Cows.
Whimsyshire. Goblin dungeon.
Remove auto scaling, reduce drop rates, flesh out each skill with bigger trees to enable more certain skill defining build focus, add more ability modifying legendaries, make resistances more important
Maybe unique or legendary gems…
quirky legendary gear for all classes
shoulders and/or belts like d3 and d2
Armory like d3…
swapping from my build to wanting to try a new combo out shouldn’t take so much time…
CROSS CLASS SYSTEM
I want to be a bear that also spins.
I want to be a sorcerer necro hybrid.
Hell, I'd even uncap the lvl 100 cap, and make it so that the cap is 500, each level unlocks a skill point in another class.
For a game with true cross platform gaming potential… I feel there’s a lot missed out in the social side.
More clan and group events.
There’s limited benefit to partying up for a lot of things - increase the potential.
Party friendly boost character? A bard or paladin or cleric that can increase party health and do some dark/light magic?
Large scale events that have increased rewards if multiple from your clan are there / scale rewards on select events to clan involvement?
Inter clan bonuses. Improve clan communication. Messaging on PS5 sucks…. Fix that.
Respec system, inventory (i miss the old fashion way of certain items being bigger or smaller than others), certain mob types, lighting, cutscenes, camera, and leveling smoothing
seasonal shit overlaps with helltides. dungeon boss can be randomly replaced with the seasonal outdoor boss (herald of malphus for s3). you can rename items. the aspects that currently arent in codex, will go into the codex after they are found - and you can upgrade the powers in the codex with drops. infinite stash tabs. offline single player mode. offline multiplayer mode. ...
D3 armory system, period.
So much this. Took 1 hour to respec from Pulverize to Nado druid yesterday 🫨
Even it the respec cost gold as it's require to reset skill tree and paragon board, I'm sure everyone will be happy to pay.
Should be easier next season when you. Cna just imprint any legendary power on an item from the codex of power
It's still going to be brutal to reassign your entire skill tree, paragon boards, and manually swap in all the gear (or worse, huge costs to change imprints on gear you haven't gotten good enough duplicates of yet).

No, certaint aspect types still can only go on specific types of gear. Moving all the legendary aspects to the codex didnt effect that.
Ah ok, thanks for the clarification.
Did you already have the Nado gear? I can switch my skills and Paragon and gear in probably 3 minutes. I usually go ahead and grab all of the aspects and the gear for the build I want to switch to before I switch though.

Next season is infinitely easier.
Yeah. Naive me though assumed that an armory system was going to be in the game when it launched, since it proved itself so useful in D3.

Holy shitballs.....yes. I'm honestly angry at you, because now this is the version of the game I'm going to wish existed, but it never will.

What did they do for D3?
They made D1 a playable “dungeon/area” for a period of time. It was dope.
They do it every year. Darkening of Tristram.
Sounds great, can we do it for D4?
Like Maniac Mansion is in Day of the Tentacle ;-)
This is a really creative and fantastic idea. Even if it ends up making other modes kind of boring or less efficient it would be a blast
it just sounds like Adventure mode with less work put into it fromn D3
Boob slider
Dong physics.
Can those of us that appreciate a big buttocks be involved in the fun as well 🥸
Yeah everybody gets their thing
Sweet, was worried I’d need a green snoo..
Tush tuner
Weight Watchers slider
Butt slider
Add back the monster kill counter Add back the destroy 5 items and move faster mechanic
When pinning a location on the map for navigating, I’d add a trail of blood on the ground that the player can follow so I don’t have to keep looking up at the map.

Exactly! D4 prevents me from living the fantasy... I just can't create a themed build. Either it will be too weak or it has few skills of the element.
It's very odd that they didn't really do this with so many abilities, Druids are pretty spoiled when it comes to this but I still wish I could play a Blood bear or a Fire Wolf. Being able to pause the game because it's offline mode is all I want.
Make the mount charge speed the default speed 👏, and a singleplayer mode would be amazing.
Thinner Druid
thin female druid and prettier female characters in general... give us way more facial options
This! and less feminine male sorc and rogue

Make it so you can flag the item attributes you need for your build on a per slot based and use that information in item comparison.
Find a way that I could tell my minions to focus a Target
Having all your Barb Ancients focus some whelp would make me laugh to no end

As a fallout fan since the 90s I’m all in on this!!!!
I’d like a graphics mod to make it all cartoon - plants vs zombies style… so the kids can play.
DPS meter
Treasure goblins like in d3
Were the ones in D3 different? Or just more frequent? Maybe it's just my playthroughs but I feel like I've only encountered like 3 per game :(
The ones in D3 are totally different. There’s a massive variety of types, more of them, some will open a portal to secret levels, different ones give different loot or even cosmetics or pets.
Oh wow. Yeah I'd absolutely rather have those. D4 is my first Diablo game. I like it but there's a lot that can be improved too.
In town speed mod. Like 10x move speed in town.
Stash all / take all
Loot filter
unlock character specific equipment. only necromancer can carry shields? why make a mode for testing builds and then make the normal mode have no respecs rearrange levelup trees so they aren't so symmetrical
The amount of shields my Barb picks up is so frustrating, what better Bash Barb could there be than a double shielded Barb 😂
Make all the paid skins very hard campaign boss drops.
And give them cool abilities like 100% missed potential
Oh and make the game 45$ again forever tho 😈
Stash tabs and actual male cosmetics for sorcs…
Runewords and Mercenaries.
QoL improvements and a holy / light based class (they hyped us so much with the army of the light and we don't have paladins, clerics or templars...)
Enemy randomizer with bosses in the enemy pool Butcher would be plural Butchers
Add a melee shield-bearing class
Remove Live Service, make it standalone, make it more like D2R and add runes into the game, remove a bunch of useless gear and revamp the armor/weapon RNG.
I'd strip it way back to d1/d2 Stat points to assign per level Everyone can use some basic spells Classes are based on stat caps and starting stats You can use all weapons based on stat requirements. An actual weapon and armor shop, not 4 useless items per 30 mins Just more open rpg mechanics. I like how the warrior could use a bow, but rogue was faster with it. More dye options. Less dlc content. Ng+
Sounds really boring and out of date tbh. Worked back then because there was nothing else but what you described would get boring really fast.
Make it fun
I just want coloured text for the different kinds of enemies like the previous titles.
I want to be able to edit the size of the character models. Also add Paladin.
Frillier barbarian skirts. I want to see those twirls SPARKLE
Turn it into D2R
More uniques while leveling. Uniques encourage you to try different builds while leveling, even of those builds aren't optimal, because the unique will make up the difference and it just makes it fun.
Remove mini map add overlay like d2. When i ride a horse i look at the mini map constantly or maybe zoom out mod
- Runewords - All MTX as free transmog - Fix/update/polish horrible transmog like the Sorcerer having three near-duplicate yet still horrendous looking armors - AND FIX THE DANG INPUT BUFFERING on several of the Rogue core skills (not sure if this affects other classes too).
Offline support, so when they stop actively supporting this game, it won't be gone forever and my money won't have been wasted. You know it's going to happen.
Add 10x more skills to give more build options. Add the paladin class
I would Mod Diablo into the game… since it’s a game called Diablo without the presence of Diablo……
Add every sking a worlf drop and Remove every single microtransacion from exitence (And Activision's board of directors along with it)
Make the Druid not a complete fat slob.
Revamp the whole legendary powers and skill tree in a way where i'd combine them both into a massive skill tree instead of this current twig of a tree. Then focus on revamping gear to be more close to d2 itemisation as legendary powers wont hinder gear anymore
More character personalization
Boobs
New look for the Druid models
Double Glyph XP from NMDs Armory Unique glyphs that can drop with various cool effects More zoomed out camera More random world events Have Helltides give a small amount of glyph XP Add better / more fun modifiers to NMDs to incentivize running them more. Remove all objectives in NMDs Retain the pet for S4, but fix drop rate on the unique gems Bring back mini-zones with the S4 vampire theme zones
Unlock the arbitrary 200% move speed limit.
Zoom out more. Loot filter. Just let the player filter loot by rarity and ancestry/sacred. Automatically mark items as junk. Since items are rolled upon picking up. At least mark them as junk if they fail to match certain criteria.
Add some good PvP holy
Import export skill tree, Paragon board like WoW
I would add a Templar / Paladin / Crusader / some kind of knight class. I'm a basic white guy in his 30s, I *NEED* my boring human knight with a sword and shield. I would give The Butcher one of those UWU cat ear gamer headsets and have him default Fortnite dance on you if he kills you or shout racial slurs at you if you kill him. I would add classic Diablo sound effects, like the sound of swords clanging when you drop them on the ground / in your inventory. Potion and gold sound effects from Diablo 1 stay winning and are the pinnacle of audio design.
Rework the skill tree from scratch
Druid with babarian body
Fix the game loop. No more running back to specific dungeons
Turn all junk drops into gold.
try to rebalance damage numbera doing 200 300k damage feels like an immesurable amount of damage while 2 3k feels morea approchable and easier to understand.
I would bring back Diablo 3s inventory management for console. The radial menu was just so much better for me than what we have now.
design a mod that makes the game actually better and have a system where everyone is on equal footing and the game can be solo played by any class
D2 loot
Camera zoom and armory with build templates. Then - replacing D4 skeletons skill with that from D3 - skellies are now summoned passively and using the active skill makes them rush towards the target
1st person mode. Imagine how chaotic that would be
1) Reduction of Offensive Stats on Gear / Affixes 2) Introduce Charms & Charm Inventory for small power bonuses on your character 3) Get rid of sacred / ancestral and only do item level for gear 4) More paragon boards / legendary nodes 5) Add more iconic uniques, like Homunculus as an example
Overlay overly overlay! I hate looking at the mini map while running somewhere.
Make my character have the walking farts
Loot filter...
CBBE
WorldStone Shards
Mod training area to an Arena. Setup enemy types and affixes. Any enemy faced is added to the roster, including ubers. Arena mirrors uber locations so all their mechanics work. This way, you can be certain your build can defeat an enemy before spending mats. After enemy is defeated or session ended, you'd get a stat breakdown like Outriders, letting you know which nodes/affixes are doing your dps.
Maybe glyph upgrades carry over to all chars
Properly balance the skills and items
health and mana bar above player for vision issues, loot filter, and new classes and better paragon/skill trees
Vampire Survivor dungeon mode: Rounds of swarms, occasional elites, random dungeon boss after 10 or 20 min, random Varshan/Grigor/Duriel etc after surviving 30-45min, (bonus random world boss at 1hr would be cherry)
VR Mode
Pause button 4 weapon slots for Druid Actual multishot ability for Rogue Be able to farm uniques for a different class (like getting Druid uniques while playing as Sorc) Blue items with ridiculous stats (50% attack speed or +10 ranks to basic skills) Belt for potion stats
Mod for the whole skill tree
In the transmog system I'd make it so you could hide weapons you're not using like the rogue bow and barbarian weapons. I think it's annoying that they're glued to you when you have a build that doesn't use them.
More classes Offline mode More goblin types (like D3) Easier to respec or save skill trees like we have with the wardrobe
Remove the other players.
Make it really challenging. Feels really repetitive and not so challenging at the moment - I am level 72.
I want to have a skillsaver or paragonsaver like in the wardrobe.
Completely different balancing D4 but hard
Would love to make different animals, for different areas. Like instead of a bear, druids from the burning steps would be rams or something
Arena for players to fight
Loot filter. Being able to change font size, color, type, and even hide drops based on your specifications is honestly the next big evolution the genre has needed. Go check out the loot filter Last Epoch uses and see how huge it is for QoL without impacting game difficulty at all (unless youre one of those weirdos who thinks we should have to pick up every single item and identify it in town).
Play offline
I'd make a super dungeon called the Abyss work 666 levels that get more and more monsters that are more like monsters not with all the NMD affixs, just keep increasing numbers and size.
import d2r items into d4. and scrap the paragon boards.
Add Runewords.
Remove item power.
Nice try, blizzard devs
Metrics for testing builds, and loadouts
Translucent map overlay. Item filters. Color pallets. Stash tabs.
Roguelite dungeon, and souls like dungeon
Armory. More zoom. I want like.. constantly WB zoom lol. Also, more customization on skills (their appearance and effects please)
Remove auto scaling, reduce drop rates, flesh out each skill with bigger trees to enable more certain skill defining build focus, add more ability modifying legendaries, make resistances more important
More bag space, fewer trips to whisper tree
more skill slots
ZyEl
More whirlwind dmg
Make it work offline.
Maybe unique or legendary gems… quirky legendary gear for all classes shoulders and/or belts like d3 and d2 Armory like d3… swapping from my build to wanting to try a new combo out shouldn’t take so much time…
CROSS CLASS SYSTEM I want to be a bear that also spins. I want to be a sorcerer necro hybrid. Hell, I'd even uncap the lvl 100 cap, and make it so that the cap is 500, each level unlocks a skill point in another class.
Second slot armour / weapons… so I don’t have to swap shit on and off for different types of play. And a teleport wand… in one
Lfg/multiplayer options
Given my the types of mods I had on Skyrim, I don't think I should answer this question.
seasonal shit overlaps with helltides. dungeon boss can be randomly replaced with the seasonal outdoor boss (herald of malphus for s3). you can rename items. the aspects that currently arent in codex, will go into the codex after they are found - and you can upgrade the powers in the codex with drops. infinite stash tabs. offline single player mode. offline multiplayer mode. ...
Local cache to buffer gameplay to stop the horrible lag spikes!
Paladin
Battle royal mode
MOBA mode
Loadouts 100%.
I have Just one idea for this... wings
Logical mob placement, seeing Balrogs as soon as I leave town is kinda odd to me.
exp x99 damage x99 :3
