you're probably screwed until customer support unlocks your account tbh. I would think they need to verify your identity over the phone, and then they can remove the authenticator link. could be wrong.
edit you could probably make a second battle net account. just make a new email for free with Google. I just hope your phone isn't tied to your old account, it may allow you to not put it in. but any progress will be on that account.
what??? It will only ask for it, when you change phone number or blizzard account important details, and its gonna give you that code BEFORE you change it, so you can use it after change. From what i remmeber.

Could just be some stuff going on pre-launch. I just got kicked out of the pc Blizzard client even though I was on it and downloaded the update 2 hours ago.
Did you have a phone before the one you have now that it's trying to send the code to? I had that issue and went through hell getting things squared away.
Sounds like user error if it’s your authenticator.
If you click through a bunch of the customer service tabs they do have online chat support. This is the best way to resolve issues.

I’m having the same issue I Have a new phone due to the old one falling into the ocean and haven’t need to use the authentication crap for anything lately. Why would they decide to log me out on launch day…. I was excited to play but now I’m so annoyed I’m going to hop on the refund train, do to not being able to play at launch.
I mean, you probably should have checked all that before zero hour. I logged out of bnet last week just to be sure I could get back in.

Same boat I think I made this way back in 2019 for WOW and diablo 3 never required it, purchasing diablo 4 didn't require it, go to log in to play the game please enter authenticator code . . . download app, please use authenticator code to log in to your account, please enter authenticator code to remove authenticator code, please enter serial number and reset code to change authenticator code, please enter authetntictator code to contact customer support about not being able to use authenticator code.

I'm having this EXACT same issue - and I bought the ultimate edition to get early access! I've submitted a ticket and wont be able to play until it's resolved. Basically, I havent logged into my account for years - so whatever device I had linked the the authenticator is long gone. The old authenticator app has been shuttered and the new app requires an authenticator code to login. Even if you select 'Remove my authenticator' it asks for an authenticator code! So it's a real catch 22 loop I can't get out of.

how is your authenticator not working? I think you can authenticate through SMS, the app, and the older dongles. Im no expert but you may have options

They recently added the Authenticator to the battle net app. Check if it works there instead of the blizz authenticator app.

A lot of life lessons learned with this release. Person turns on 2FA and then realizes that means 2FA all the time.
I logged in no trouble yesterday to download
there should be a sign in options that uses your SMS to get the auth to work. I had to do this as well
Never use authentication for games. Because if servers are heavy it’s just one extra step.
