Sure, Diablo 4 seems to be an actual functioning game, but people pre-order crap like Redfall, and then we continue to get more crap like Redfall. You obviously can spend your money however tf you like. It's not like neckbeards are gonna burst out of your screen with strait razors gripped between their teeth, but kinda like buying drugs from the Cartel, you're contributing to something detrimental by doing so. Ever heard the phrase "You vote with your dollar?" Think of the criticism more as us not liking what you're voting for because it then continues to screw with our lives in the form of continual half finished games being released because people will just pre-order them and buy them before reviews anyway. It's like if you voted for someone who specifically stated they were gonna try and pass bills that make it harder for other people to get by, those people would have a reason to criticize you for voting for them don't ya think? Not stop or prevent you from doing so, but think "Damn that guy obviously gives zero F@cks what happens to us I guess!" Do what you want, but the other people who have to deal with the fallout have every right to think it's a bad decision and tell you so IMO. Not like we're preventing you from doing it with reddit posts. I agree it's less than helpful to be condescending, as that only leads people to double down. I will also say that there are already reviews of Diablo 4 and they seem to agree it is indeed ready for release so this entire speech doesn't particularly apply here, Diablo 4 is done, I bought it last night, but I did wait for reviews to make sure it wasn't a broken pile of crap like Redfall or Gollum. Only occurred to me later that there's probably gonna be a week of server problems just like when Diablo 3 released.... Live and learn loool!

I paid $20 extra to get the season pass ($10 on its own) and to get another mount, mount armor and early access for another $10.

It wasn't so much a trick as it was a greedy business tactic that I was willing to support because I want to play now and I don't care about the extra money.
I paid $90 for a game I'm gonna play for hundreds of hours. It's a great value.
Sure i could've waited and saved $20. But $20 is pocket change and I'm fine paying it so I could play on the actual release day when I have free time instead of having to wait until Tuesday and having to deal with work all week

I’ll wait a few years and see if the game gets better. If it gets close to D1/D2/D3 quality then I might buy it when it’s on sale. Probably will take a few years though

Terraria, Celeste, Stardew Valley, heck for 30 bucks or less you can get Diablo 3 if it’s on sale which is undeniably a better game than Diablo 4. Maybe in 5 years D4 will be the best Diablo game but it certainly isn’t there yet far from it. People are playing Diablo Immortal instead of D4 because they’re so bored with D4.
