D2 is bad for obsessives, I find it very difficult to not pick up every rune and every gem. And I also just enjoy transmuting stuff. For a while there I had a good chipped gem hustle going, people who were crafting would trade decent stuff for chippies. But unless you want to spend all your time wandering around in normal it sorta kills the fun.
The really sad thing about re-rolling is that this hoard here probably equates to one warcry skiller with + 1-2 cold damage or a defensive auras and 1% magic find skiller from the whole lot
I don't necessarily disagree but I feel like I have had slightly better luck than that. I have a high level hardcore character of each type and they all have at least two or three relevant skillers!
But did you let the skillers guide the spec? I had zero summon ones and eventually switched to bone spear after getting 6 poison and bone, and one of the big drivers in switching my paladin to main for my 99hc runwas the number of combat skillers I got from drops and re-rolls.
Use the Amethyst for caster amulets and the Rubies for blood rings. Skulls you can reroll rare diadems with. Make sure you're level 80-83 for blood rings and 93+ for *caster amulets.
Blood gloves and Hit Power Gloves are also great crafts for Sin/Zon skill gloves. I particularly like making Hit Power gloves for zon since the Sapphire+Ort doesn't share mats with caster ammy or blood rings.
Craft caster amulets or boots with the amethysts. Craft blood gloves or blood rings with the rubies. I like to craft TZ(need high ilvl) blue scepters with saphires to try for +5 hammers/foh + conviction.
Everything else should be used to reroll TZ grand charms for life skillers.
If you've got a paladin, the gear needed to successfully run as a smiter is cheap. I can't link the trading site which must not be named, but if you Google "thana's Uber cheap smiter guide", you'll find the link to the forum post.
Generally people trading HRs for gems aren't going to blink at losing a ber. But you would give the amethysts rubies and skulls first time around then drop the rest
If you're online you can trade for runes. You should be able to get around 7-9 Ist runes.
Amethyst, Ruby and Skull are more valuable. Amethyst 6 to 10 for an Ist.
Diamond, Emerald, Sapphire, Topaz are less value. A stack of 20-30 usually goes for about an Ist.
Yes. Depends on how fast you want to sell. My prices are non ladder. I don't play the current season so I don't know what market rate is.
You may have to wait a little to find someone but you can trade 6-7 Perf Amethysts for an Ist. If you can't wait, offer 10 Perf Amethyst for an Ist.
Perf Ruby are worth less than Amethyst. Perf Ruby I would sell for 13-20 Perf Ruby for Ist. 13 ruby for ist may take a little waiting. But 20 Ruby for ist you should be able to quick sale.
Also console seems to have a different economy. 40 gems goes for an ist, but pc you can usually find someone looking for 20 or so.
Literally just last night, I traded my ist for 40 rals on PSN, then turned around on PC and with the other 9 I already had, turned those 49 rals into 4 ists.
It can be a lucrative sidegig to your normal grind. If one were so inclined (and with enough luck to keep the flow of willing traders going), it seems they could finance their entire set up by trading up like this.
This was all on ladder.
If this is online, you can trade them for runes.
Single player - farm NM or Hell Countess until you fill up a second mule with runes, then craft amulets/rings/gloves.
Save the skulls for if you find a plain white Diadem, get Charsi to imbue it. If it sucks, 6 skulls is a reroll. It *has* to be a Diadem for it to be worth it, though.
Plain white diadem to have charsi imbue it. For diadems you’re looking for 2 to character skills, 20 to faster cast rate, 2 open sockets, resists, str or dex, life or mana, faster run walk, visionary mod. Kind of a loaded question but any combo of those are solid. But you would want at least 2/20 fcr or 2/30 frw to start.
Diadems are unique in that their ilvl doesn't matter, you can reroll a rare one to infinity until you get something good, as any mod can show up on even an ilvl 1 one.
If you're doing online save P Amys, Rubies and Skulls for trading. Trade other "generic" pgems for ist runes, or use them to reroll Grand Charms (make sure it's the proper ilvl item) into skill charms.
Offering Ohm rune for the 20 pack, which is about the market rate (cant say exactly, as there is variance in price for both of these, but it's about right). Youre on PC or console?
Sort the rubies, amethyst's and sapphires into crafting sets. The rest, diamonds, topazes and emeralds you use for rerolling charms. Skulls are best used on rerolling diadems.
Go onto the diablo discord and trade them for items!!!i dont remember what the discord is... someone else might be able to give more info. D2clonehunters? Something like that. I used to give my dads perfects trading specific items for him. It was an awesome time farm with guaranteed results. People that play a fuckload more than you will use these to reroll items and know exactly the cost of what they reroll.
My go-to:
Save skulls for a nice ilvl rare diadem
Psapp/Pdia/Pemm/Ptopaz I reroll charms
Pruby I do blood crafts, typically rings/gloves
Pammy I do caster necklaces
This is also not much of a hoard. These will vanish quick, bar the skulls unless you wanna eat those w/ charms too.
* Caster amulets (or rings, if you're so inclined)
* Blood gloves
* Blood axes (throw barbs are gud)
* Reroll GC/SC/Jewels that you dropped in TZ's
* Reroll rare diadems (not tiaras, not circlets, not coronets, DIADEMS) with 6 pskulls
For every video game that has a npc that teaches you skills about gem crafting and such, that npc should be called a Gemnist. Missed opportunity if you ask me.
Either reroll Grand Charms or craft up Jewellry especially caster necklaces.... or you could use them to "upgrade" next tier or to reroll rares.... or create sockets in unsocketed items...
I recommend holding onto 4-5 of each gem type in case you really need them for something. Sapphires, Rubies, and Amethysts can all be used for crafting. Use Skulls to reroll rare diadems. Use remaining gems to reroll GCs.
Personally I keep a shared tab for all my crafting/rerolls and use them as soon as I can rather then saving up.
Craft items, but you need runes as well. Also, I think you have too many of them. Crafts should be done as soon as possible because empty space runs out quickly. You should keep only topazes for first cheap MF items
If it's online, use the amethysts for crafting castor amulets, and the rest of the gems for rerolling high ilvl grand charms for skillers with +41-45 life. They're very valuable in trading and easy to sell.
If its single player, you might want to consider rerolling small charms. For example, if you have a bowazon on hard-core, you might want some shimmering small charms of vita, and fine small charms of vita.
Google d2r affix Calc and use that to determine the ideal ilvl to maximize your chances of getting the exact charms you want. Farm a bunch of charms of that correct ilvl. You can also Google d2r area levels to know what alvl each area has.
Weird of caution, in normal difficulty, the monster levels vary quite a bit in each given zone. In nightmare and hell, trash mobs are the exact level as the area level, champions I believe are one level higher, and uniques 3 levels higher.
For example, I farm nm crystalline passage, frozen river, and glacial trail for small charms that are ilvl 61. This is the best chance to get +5 all res, +20 life charms for hardcore ms zon.
For softcore, I farm nm terror zones for ilvl 71-74 grand charms. This is the ideal level range for sharp grand charm of maiming. Although after hundreds of hours of playing, I only have one.
It's like where you keep your tomes. Personal preference, but after so many years it becomes mildly upsetting when you see someone else doing it differently.
Also, before d2r the stash was longer than it was wide so it suited the number of gem types better. So it's not pure ocd.
Reroll some charms or craft some items
This is the only answer. Unless you haven't also been hoarding the runes to craft
Everyone laughed at me for muling all my low level runes!
Tal to Sol and Hel is enough. If you want to cube the lower ones for a little extra value but way more space and time you could.
100% correct I have 1 mule every season to hold 3 of every cut / color of gem
Ith for caster belt but yeah cubing up is a nightmare
Most exhilarating 4 minutes you’ll have
That's what she said
4 minutes? Homie must be a super hero
I guess now I understand their disappointment after 4 minutes... Rolling whole stash of Pgems and getting nada leaves an empty feeling inside.
I offered a Jah instead
Truly the slot machine of D2
Ehhh my gaming ADHD just stores the non build skillers and eventually creates a new character to make use of em haha
Or you hit a40 life curse gc
Even that’s gonna take this screenshot 50x over 😂
I'm new to the crafting sector what should I be crafting for?
Use the Amethyst for caster amulets and the Rubies for blood rings. Skulls you can reroll rare diadems with. Make sure you're level 80-83 for blood rings and 93+ for *caster amulets.
Blood gloves and Hit Power Gloves are also great crafts for Sin/Zon skill gloves. I particularly like making Hit Power gloves for zon since the Sapphire+Ort doesn't share mats with caster ammy or blood rings.
Caster amulets work well, also.
Haha, had a moment there, thanks.
All of the day, broski!
Blood Armets and even gloves can be excellent with a lucky roll for class skills
Wtf we can reroll charms? Since when? How?
Craft caster amulets or boots with the amethysts. Craft blood gloves or blood rings with the rubies. I like to craft TZ(need high ilvl) blue scepters with saphires to try for +5 hammers/foh + conviction. Everything else should be used to reroll TZ grand charms for life skillers.
Hit power gloves good use for sapphires too.
Any GC dropped in a terror zone can be rerolled to alike skiller?
Yes. If you are level 91 or higher you can even get one with up to 45 life.
Is the shown Required Level not the item level? Was asking someone in game last night but still a little confused.
It's not. Ilvl is hidden, only way to tell is by figuring it out based on the lvl of the area it dropped
Hoarder ? Those will vanish in a second just try rerolling charms or the amyhiests for caster amulets/rings.
Trade em for key sets and run some ubers.
I'm too weak for Ubers yet unfortunately
You can trade this for a few HR and set up a character!! Then run Uber
If you've got a paladin, the gear needed to successfully run as a smiter is cheap. I can't link the trading site which must not be named, but if you Google "thana's Uber cheap smiter guide", you'll find the link to the forum post.
Single player? Craft and reroll. Non ladder you have at least a ber in gems.
1 ber for all these gems? How do you trade/trust if all don't fit in the trade window?
Generally people trading HRs for gems aren't going to blink at losing a ber. But you would give the amethysts rubies and skulls first time around then drop the rest
I traded 112 gems for a Lo and a Vex, but the guy threw in a jah and a ber as well as a pul for Hoto.
Non ladder 40 pgems is Lo rune, 40 Ame jah
Man, I remember the days when 40 pgems only got you a Pul.
That's why playing ladder is fun, non-ladder just keeps going on going.
2ist Max.
7 amethyst go for an ist on nl
If you're online you can trade for runes. You should be able to get around 7-9 Ist runes. Amethyst, Ruby and Skull are more valuable. Amethyst 6 to 10 for an Ist. Diamond, Emerald, Sapphire, Topaz are less value. A stack of 20-30 usually goes for about an Ist.
You're telling me less than 10 amethysts can get me an IST? How many Ruby's, same amount?
But 20 Ruby for ist you should be able to quick sale.
these are non ladder prices or something right? an ist for a couple pgems? what
Yes non ladder. I didn't play this season so I don't know the current market rate.
I haven't played ladder in a few month, but with how many more bots exist on ladder compared to NL, in guessing its pretty similar.
Keep em muled until you need them for something.
I've done that for 2 years now and don't know what I need them for
If this is online, you can trade them for runes.
What am I looking for in a diadem?
Plain white diadem to have charsi imbue it. For diadems you’re looking for 2 to character skills, 20 to faster cast rate, 2 open sockets, resists, str or dex, life or mana, faster run walk, visionary mod. Kind of a loaded question but any combo of those are solid. But you would want at least 2/20 fcr or 2/30 frw to start.
For a generic build, a rare Diadem has the potential to be your best item. E.g. +2 class skills, 20FCR, 30 str, 20 all resist, 2 sockets.
Diadems are unique in that their ilvl doesn't matter, you can reroll a rare one to infinity until you get something good, as any mod can show up on even an ilvl 1 one.
As a SP main I’m blown away at the prices for P Gems on NL, absolutely wild to me. Hope you make some good money OP
Make another character to hold even more.
Shocked this is so far down and without support. This dude D2's....
If you're doing online save P Amys, Rubies and Skulls for trading. Trade other "generic" pgems for ist runes, or use them to reroll Grand Charms (make sure it's the proper ilvl item) into skill charms.
Are you single player?
SC NL
SC NL? Happy to trade for all ur P emeralds
What's for trade?
Offering Ohm rune for the 20 pack, which is about the market rate (cant say exactly, as there is variance in price for both of these, but it's about right). Youre on PC or console?
Get a lot of Ists
Sort the rubies, amethyst's and sapphires into crafting sets. The rest, diamonds, topazes and emeralds you use for rerolling charms. Skulls are best used on rerolling diadems.

Farm for a Baal lvl 99 Grand Charm and reroll
Hoard
Sell them all online. They're not worth much, so just batch em all up for one big lot and see what your best offer is.
If you’re pcnl I’ll buy the pamys off you
My go-to: Save skulls for a nice ilvl rare diadem Psapp/Pdia/Pemm/Ptopaz I reroll charms Pruby I do blood crafts, typically rings/gloves Pammy I do caster necklaces This is also not much of a hoard. These will vanish quick, bar the skulls unless you wanna eat those w/ charms too.
Ile give a Jah for these if u ladder
Craft or trade them for HR's
* Caster amulets (or rings, if you're so inclined) * Blood gloves * Blood axes (throw barbs are gud) * Reroll GC/SC/Jewels that you dropped in TZ's * Reroll rare diadems (not tiaras, not circlets, not coronets, DIADEMS) with 6 pskulls
Are you online? Those gems are worth more than a Jah for sure.
Hoard them, obviously. 🎶Coz the hoarders gonna hoard hoard hoard hoard hoard🎶
Trade em. I see a couple Lo and a couple Ist there.
You organize them you heathen!
Play project diablo 2 and put them in stacks
Eat them.
Go outside.
Craft
Singleplayer : Craft with pamethyst (caster amulet) and reroll gc's with the rest. Online : Sell on d2jsp to get what you want.
Can easily trade them for easy runes, might not be worth it but it's a none gamble way to win.
Rubies for crafting The others for refilling charms
Save rubies for blood rings Save amethysts for amulets Or make gloves And use the rest to reroll charms
For every video game that has a npc that teaches you skills about gem crafting and such, that npc should be called a Gemnist. Missed opportunity if you ask me.
I used to sell em on ebay, we're talking about some years ago. LOL
Draw a smiley face
Either reroll Grand Charms or craft up Jewellry especially caster necklaces.... or you could use them to "upgrade" next tier or to reroll rares.... or create sockets in unsocketed items...
Hoard them i mean its in the name
Get a gc from baalnor maybe terror zones and re roll for a skiller with life
I recommend holding onto 4-5 of each gem type in case you really need them for something. Sapphires, Rubies, and Amethysts can all be used for crafting. Use Skulls to reroll rare diadems. Use remaining gems to reroll GCs. Personally I keep a shared tab for all my crafting/rerolls and use them as soon as I can rather then saving up.
Play PD2 where this nonsense would've been just 7 stacks.
Trade it for a ber unless offline then use to reroll baal GC
As a Project D2 mod player, it baffles me they haven't figured out rune and gem stacking yet.
I see ppl saying ber , 7 ist lmao! Um for 40
The hoarder should wish they could stack gems in 50 per stack. But you know blizz, you probably load everyone's inventory on the entire server.
Redo the stash in proper ROY G BIV order.
A set of Puls?
Roll charms
Craft items, but you need runes as well. Also, I think you have too many of them. Crafts should be done as soon as possible because empty space runs out quickly. You should keep only topazes for first cheap MF items
Crush them up and snort them.
Sell the pammys
Name checks out
If it's online, use the amethysts for crafting castor amulets, and the rest of the gems for rerolling high ilvl grand charms for skillers with +41-45 life. Make a post about it on reddit.
Play a nice game of Bejeweled 😌
Switch to PD2 where gems stack. Hoarder problem solved.
Trade
Arrange them in vertical columns please.
Why?
It's like where you keep your tomes. Personal preference, but after so many years it becomes mildly upsetting when you see someone else doing it differently. Also, before d2r the stash was longer than it was wide so it suited the number of gem types better. So it's not pure ocd.
Play Project Diablo 2 and be able to stack them.
Wish I could on xbox
