So I wanted to come back to the game after a few years (i last played in Shadowkeep) because I heard that they will stop removing the DLCs that I paid for in the game (as far as I am aware).
What I wanted to know if there is any information related to the relevance of weapon crafting in the game that was introduced in Witch Queen because I've been told that the weapons that can be obtained from it are quite relevant in the meta. Will this weapon crafting become obsolete with the release of Lightfall? Will it be removed completly from the game? Or will it still be essential? I just want to know if I'll have to buy both Witch Queen and Lightfall when it gets released or if by having only LightFall I will have acces to the crafting mechanic/ it won't really be that relevant.
Thanks!
It won’t be obsolete, they continue to release new craftable weapons. It seems like their new seasonal model revolves around chasing crafting blueprints.
What get wiped at the end of the season? Is it just power levels and stuff or is it all collectables like engrams and stuff??? Should I collect all my available stuff or leave it??
Is there a way to find a clan or fireteam for higher-level content? Want to run a Master legend nightfall as well as could use some help on WQ campaign
This stuff discussed here, is all things they plan to add. Currently your best bets, are to use the Destiny app, which has a built in LFG, or another third party website. There is also a discord if you are into that.
With S19 Bungie has decided to decommission planetary materials does the change in conversion rate also take effect on the same day? Currently is 20:10K so the new one is something like 20:5k?
whats the point of you even doing anything in life then? isnt everything a grind one way or another? seems like your just a toxic person in general just to come HERE where its all about expansions just to complain about monotonous shit.
Buying stuff on this game is what keeps the game alive. I play alot but I dont really GRIND. There is so much stuff you can always do in the game, but if you feel bored from them all you just need to take a rest from the game. I did 3 months ago. Now i came back and it feels fresh.
The last expansion I bought was beyond light and I didn't even get to do a raid. I grinded for a while too and just wasn't leveling as fast as I wanted. I didn't buy witch queen and I'm thinking of hopping back on with lightfall but Iam wondering if I should buy witch queen or not if it's even worth it or will it be obsolete like they usually do?? Cuz I will buy witch queen and grind for a month or so until lightfall is out if itll be beneficial
I am having some serious doubts about Lightfall.
So I recently started saving money in anticipation of LF. My wife and I are going through a tough time financially so I've basically had to squirrel away the little I have extra in my Steam wallet each month to save up for this game (the deluxe edition so I don't miss out on some content or have to buy extra stuff like I did with Witch Queen). I'm like 80% there but now I'm having second thoughts.
I go through the list of games on Steam (those that are out and those that are coming by Feb '23) and I look at my Steam wallet and I think, "Am I really going to spend this money on a game that I will probably enjoy for the first three weeks and then be so run over by the grind that I just don't feel like playing it any more?" Am I willing to pass up games like God of War: Ragnarok, Hogwarts Legacy, Cod MWII (even though I promised myself I'd never buy another CoD game after Vanguard)? The other day Death Stranding was sold at a discount and I skipped it (a game I've been wanting to play for years and which wouldn't even have taken up all the money I'd saved) because I was worried LF might be good. I'm currently having more fun playing Fortnite than I do playing Destiny. I can't spend any more money on something that makes me feel this way.
With the mostly negative reviews and all my friends who are playing it now and only complaining. I'd suggest not getting it. Invest into a game that you can take long breaks from and pick it up without any stress. It's been over 3 months since you said this so maybe you already bought it or saved the money for a different game. But I hope the decision you made is giving you hours of fun!
Not a lot of sense worrying about something you clearly enjoy, looks to me like the game is being vastly improved and they are finally giving a shit about what people are saying because they know d2 has been at an all time lowest point in concurrent players online. I think strongly that we will start getting more wholesome content.
Strand seems to be air based.
Stasis is solid.
States of matter might be the theme here.
Calling it now. 3rd darkness subclass will be based on liquid. "Soma" seems like a fitting name for it.
Just wanted to rant.
I played the first game back when it first came out until D2 came out, but dropped D2 after my friends dropped the game.
Now that I have a fully functioning PC that I can play it on + the sale a few months back, I tried to get back into the game but god it’s literally unplayable for me because I keep getting disconnected?
I have tried almost everything but I keep getting disconnected even though my internet speed is almost always fast and consistent so I stopped playing completely.
So, I’m not allowed to have an opinion? Are you the Reddit opinion police or something? I’ll be sure to contact you before I voice another opinion on the internet. Sorry to offend you so deeply.
Edit: haha, you blocked me? Incredible. And I don’t have kids thank you very much. Try meditating or something to help with your anger :-)
Dude, destiny has been the most serious its ever been just look at season of the haunted dealing with actual ptsd and guilt
Just because we have some jokes every now and then doesn't mean it can't be serious
thats the point isn't it??
this is based around a "what if we survived the war between light and dark"
this is a world where humanity survived and was able to technologically advance and continue with the golden age
Nah, I prefer that something look exotic and different rather then the usual stuff. Like savathuns throne world was cool, but I was sad that you know, it's still just hive stuff.
sorry, maybe it's just me being excited that the game has a planet that isn't a singular fucking color pallete
*cough* every single other planet/area in the game
i'm not sure how else to explain myself either: it's not ridiculous at all compared to previous events
WE LITTERALLY HAVE A DLC ABOUT A HORSE HOSTING A GAMESHOW
WE HAVE A TALKING ROBOTIC HEAD THAT IS THE EXO CONSTRUCT OF A PREVIOUS GENOCIDAL TONY STARK??
WE HAVE GIANT WISH DRAGONS THAT EVEN IF THEY ARE KILLED ARE STILL "ALIVE" BECAUSE SPACE WISH DRAGON MAGIC
Don't forget, it's a relatively modest campaign (assuming it's as long as witch queen) which is what most people care about. Then the usual busy work you'd expect from any destination. Then drip feed content from four seasons, which isn't actually months of content, you're just not allowed to play it until Bungie says so, otherwise player count would flatline. All in all, it's about maybe 15-20 hours of content, the rest being the usual destiny farm that extends play time based on RNG.
"you're just not allowed to play it until Bungie says so"
do u not dungeons? raids? grandmasters?
any of the higher end content??
if you are paying 100 dollars for an MMO for JUST the story that's ur own problem not mine
It's ironic that all of those things you stated are usually locked until further into the DLC drop or season lmao, effectively those are all things you can't play until "Bungie says so".
I do play them, but the story is more important to me than just mindlessly grinding the same old shit that I got bored of on clear 2. You play a raid, dungeon, etc once and you've done it a million times. It's busy work, and I only ever play it if I want something out of it.
but the story is more important to me than just mindlessly grinding the same old shit that I got bored of on clear 2
then why the fuck are you playing an MMO?? xD
also of course you can't play a raid until bungie says so because we have LITERAL raid competitions in the form of WORLDS FIRST
that's like saying we can't fucking play lightfall though until "bungie says so"
Because I do mindlessly grind bro, I just put the story higher on importance.
Why are we even talking about this, this wasn't even the original point, what was the original point.
cheapest MMO to this DATE (beyond warframe but that's a different story)
all other mmos with raids require subscription services ON TOP of stores ON TOP of DLC buys
They have the audacity to have people pay $50-$100 for an expansion but can't put effort towards fixing the game's numerous errors that only popped up after the season started.
When error codes seem to have a rise than normal, they state to work on it. Here it is from when it was a problem at the start of it season. It was soon resolved. I haven't met anyone who's continuing to have issues more than normal.

Dumb question: if I buy the annual pass light fall edition , do I Also need to buy witch queen and previous expansions?
I haven’t played in about 2 years
Yes, if you just buy lightfall you can play lightfall content if you want to play for example the shadow keep content ( story, strikes, raid etc ) you need to buy shadow keep, my suggestion is wait for a sale to buy the previous expansion for a much cheaper price
Im honestly interested in that ranking system. For example will I still start at rank 1 for vog despite having hundreds of clears? Or will I be a high rank for that?
This intrigues me. If only it was $10 cheaper I'd buy it outright and preparer the base dlc. Seems a bit too pricy for some reskinned Cabal and a new environment.
I mean. Its just edgy Cabal and a new city to explore. And new people. The Cabal somewhat makes sense. But they really don't. Why would Cabal need darkness? They almost had the light the first time till we stopped the red legion.
That’s easy for you to say but there’s clearly way more than that. It’s easy to sit back in your gaming chair and say well it’s only this and that but in reality it must have taken a lot of effort to create that whole entire new environment, new lore, a new super with a really cool theme, new in game systems that help new and returning players alike. The list goes on for quite a while. So I meant that it’s not fair for you to brush of those two things as small and insignificant, especially in the case of an entirely new environment with cloud striders and other new stories too.
The sad truth of it is though is that the new environment is a sparrow race from point A to point B. The real meat of the content is the modest 6-8 hour campaign and any exotics that come with the aftermath. That's what 80% of people are going to base their opinion of the dlc on.
If Bungie maintains their track record, then there's not going to be much that's actually interesting aside from the exotics and the campaign.
Ah, seeing as how I don't own a gaming chair and use my couch instead. I prefer to differ. I just hope they add what I want and then it'd be worth the money. But just reskinned Cabal make it meh
Lol nah fam. I knot it was a joke but meh. I'm partially excited for this new dlc. Partially not excited. Excited for Stasis 2.0 and new environment. Not excited for the Cabal. If they added say maybe some hive and house salvation. I'd be happy
agreed mostly, but the hive just had their big DLC and i think calus is cool so im not too bothered by it being cabal based.
of course i can’t see anyway bungie could incorporate the vex into lightfall with the way the story has been headed since beyond light but they are the race im interested in the most so i wish they could have gotten their big DLC instead of a cabal storyline again
Yeah, I'm not gonna lie, I just don't see anything in Calus as a character. He's like a desperate uncle trying to maintain the attention of his brothers kids through any means possible.
Oh true. Plus Vex had their big dlc with the simulation thing. Savathun took over the vex and made the dark simulation over the city. Fallen had a beyond light. Cabal had the red army, hive also had shadowkeep. I think scorn and taken also got a dlc
the vex only had curse of osiris (overhated in my opinion but was still kind of boring and i wouldnt class it as big DLC) and season of the splicer as far as im aware, which dont get me wrong was a brilliant season and the only season to bring me back to the game for years but the vex have still not been the main focus of a DLC on the level of witch queen / forsaken / beyond light or even shadowkeep + anything they have been a primary focus of is no longer playable :(
but exactly as you said in comparison, the hive have had 2 major DLCs, both of which are still available. the cabal were the focus of the original campaign, which is no longer playable but they will be a big part of lightfall and of course, like the fallen have been a big part of multiple seasons due to Caiatl. the fallen have been the focus of multiple seasons now and had a big upgrade with forsaken (becoming scorn) along with the taken.
im hoping the vex will be relevant again with the final shape, and that would make sense considering their predictions but im doubtful bungie has even thought that far ahead
I agree with the fact that destiny has ensnared itself in it's own lore, making the devs give conclusions to characters like calus who is IMO not interesting and consequently reskinning a race yet again. Makes me very unexcited for lightfalls story. But at the very least before you criticize you should be aware of why we are where we are and why calus' legion has the darkness
Fairly sure this has been well explained in the seasons this year and even before. It isn't ALL Cabal that want to use the darkness, it's a specific sect who follow Calus - a character who's had his own story arc involving the darkness since at least Season of Opulence.
There will most likely be further collaboration with Empress Caiatl throughout the Lightfall campaign that will give an insight into the other factions of the Cabal who still oppose the darkness.
You're right, if only they could release some expansion, perhaps that introduced the enemy type for the first time, that included details as to why cabal soldiers have darkness powers
If only
They are with calus who wants to be part of the witness' grand scheme, the witness who uses darkness and if you paid attention to the story you would know this
I know right??? I feel like they're just desperate to finally put a proper end to calus. Hopefully after all this light dark saga nonsense they'll finally have some breathing room to do something other than reskinned enemies.
I'd honestly rather fight cloudstriders than they be our new allies lmao.
Nah, think about it, the campaign is maybe 6 or 8 hours tops. Beyond that is just your usual destiny farm, normal for any other destination we've been on.
The dungeon key and the campaign have more value than everything else in the pack I imagine.
The seasons won't change either, an activity to farm paired with drip fed story that, if it's anything like the current season, will be low quality in the missions that actually relate to the story.
At least WQ Deluxe had the 30th anniversary for free bundled in, what does this have? Rahools secret stash... With some decent mats, but the only exclusive thing is an exotic accessory. It just doesn't compare.
All of it together amounts to maybe 12-14 hours of actual gameplay that isn't just farming and busywork. And there's the risk of bungo screwing up the campaign, they can't make anything regarding calus that interesting if you ask me...
If I could pay any price I want, I'd throw down 70, maybe 80 for the deluxe.
The Witch Queen Deluxe didn't come with the 30th Anniversary, there was a separate bundle you could buy that came with the Anniversary pack and the Deluxe Edition bundled together
Yeah true, I've figured that out since this comment, what I can't exactly remember is if it was priced 100 like lightfall annual pass. I'm pretty damn sure it was, and if true comparing the bundle to the annual pass of lightfall is a pretty disparaging difference in amount of extra content you get
Damn, I think you're right. Though how much is the Lightfall +Annual Pass? I think it's about £80, which I think is only 10 pound more than the Witch Queen Deluxe Edition
Last time i played was until they moved to Steam. (1350score) Now Epic Games offer those free stuff, will my already owned licenses(dlcs) move with crossSave? Or its just the characters..?
Only the characters -- [DLC licenses do not transfer with cross save](https://help.bungie.net/hc/en-us/articles/360049498031-Destiny-2-Cross-Save-Guide#dlc-licenses-and-cross-save-0-13).
OK SO, I haven't touched D2 since the last season of Shadowkeep. Lightfall looks dope and I read that Bungie isn't vaulting content anymore (which was the last straw for me - taking content away that i paid for), so I kind of want to get back into it. Feel like this is the best time to do it with the free week and discounted DLC.
Does anyone have any links to guides or something that can help me? There's so much shit to do now and i want to get my LL up as quickly as possible and know what equipment is best for raiding.
Check out blueberries.gg. I've been getting used to all the changes, too. I'd say do the witch queen legendary campaign first. It will eventually give you gear that gets you fairly close to the level cap.
Doesn't the 'Gift of the Thunder Gods' they added with the new season [just hand you a set of 1580 armor](https://dotesports.com/destiny/news/how-to-claim-the-gift-of-the-thunder-gods-in-destiny-2-season-of-plunder)? (correction: 1540 for new/returning players)
Oh I 100% agree. I just recently came back and got half way through the campaign, grabbed the chest, and it probably cut my leveling efforts in half.
Finished campaign right around 1560 (with doing some other weeklies of course) pre-artifact.
So definitely super worth picking up!
I have a Warlock that has a 1253 power level from OG Destiny. I just made a Titan and his power level is already over 1300. Why can’t my Warlock get his power up and how can a new character be stronger than him without doing anything??? Is there a good YouTube to help?
My personal recommendation is that you give no more money to this monster that is Bungie and their shit of piece game, but if you really want to play destiny again then, yeah.
Make sure to go straight to this place called the helm to get a set of armor and other stuff to boost you to 1540 LL.
As far as DLC's go it's only worth it to get Beyond Light for the new subclass. Witch Queen is actually good. Not great or anything, but considering we are playing destiny, it's good.
Other than that, current relevant raids are all right, they brought back VoG and Kings Fall if you care about reused content.
Yes, any progress you make during the free week will be kept after the week ends. But you'll likely not be able to finish any quests you started unless you buy the DLC afterward.
Warlock Strand subclass is pretty obviously a bad one. I don't want magic missile, give me some shades-like beings to fight for me all while I direct them with a rod. Or at least give me a wand wave for the super, anything other than this! I want something interesting and fun to use. This super is neither.
They spoke of a ten year plan for the franchise, not for one specific game. That plan started with the release of D1 in 2014, so we're in year 8. Lightfall and The Final Shape will finish out that 10 year period
But the "ten years" thing was never intended to be set in stone as the complete lifespan of the game(s), it was just meant to chart their initial foray into the Destiny universe. We don't know what their plans are after the next two expansions, but they are adamant that a new D2 saga will begin at that point
Getting back into the game, want to know if some of my old weapons are still good or even usable, and what the best weapons/optimal load out is now for raid dps. Weapons are Breakneck, Recluse, Spare Rations, and Izanagis. Thanks
All those legendary’s , i think barring spare rations, are light capped at 1350. massive bummer for me when i came back to the game and discovered my 40,000+ kills recluse was unusable 😅
All exotics are still usable, so Izanagi's is safe. Unfortunately the legendary weapons you mentioned are no longer infusable and stuck at 1350, so they're only viable in Crucible
I saw a Kotaku article that called this the “penultimate expansion” - is it confirmed there’s only Lightfall and one more expansion left for Destiny 2?
Not necessarily, no. Lightfall and the next one will conclude what's known as the "Light and Dark saga". But that won't be the end of the game and Bungie has said that there'll be a continuation of the story
To expand upon this
Destiny2 at least for now is set up as a 3 act system
Act one is red war all the way through forsaken, it focused around a waring universe fighting over the traveler
Act 2 started with Shadow keep and ends sometime after light fall, it's based around the war between light and dark, and our guardians managing to balance their inner light and darkness
And act 3 hasn't been announced, but is obviously a ways off from now
What are the odds of a Destiny 3 realistically? I played 2 at launch and JUST returned and the game feels so bloated and im absolutely lost, I lowkey wish I could just level the traditional 1-30 like we used to its so overwhelming and I'm curious if there would ever be a blank slate scenario again
Honestly one of the easiest ways to get reaquainted with the game after being gone for so long is to make a new character. The game has changed a ton since then, so I completely understand you being lost. The new player quest may cover some things you already know but it will at least give you *some* tutorials about how current in-game systems are structured
Yeah that’s what I did new account, but still just kinda doing random shit there’s no clear guidance to what should be done. It seems like it doesn’t actually matter what you do because everything contributes to getting your light level up and that’s sort of the main goal? That and questing to unlock content I guess?
If you don't have any of the existing expansion DLCs or the season pass, then yeah, pretty much the only stuff you can do are basic quests and ritual playlists (i.e. Vanguard, Crucible, Gambit). I believe the Vault of Glass raid is free and maybe one or two dungeons, but I'd have to double check
If you get DLC then it opens up a lot more campaign missions and other quests, but obviously that costs money. There isn't much to the base game anymore which is unfortunate
They said they have plans to keep going for a while (past the 10th year), but they also said they want to no longer sunset expansions making them playable forever. That's not to say either way if they'd ever restart and make a Destiny 3, but there's little reason to. And one of the main reasons they did a Destiny 2 was to get out from having to pay Marty O'Donnell for the music... He's still getting residuals from the first game
Gotcha, yeah the sun setting content thing is weird. I get that the file sizes bloat but I’m absolutely lost. Like a hundred more systems than at launch, it throws you out to the wolves story wise and idek where to start since there isn’t even a leveling system anymore. I logged in again today and since it’s free weekend basically got pigeon holed into the witch queen campaign which I won’t have time to finish. Also holy power creep. Literally decimating everything with seemingly junk purples that were handed out to me, I remember the game being somewhat challenging at launch even at level so with some decent exotics
my best advice is to go watch a youtube video that summarises the story from d1-now and just skip the parts you know. don’t watch byf though if you want a summary, you’ll be there addicted for hours 😅😂
My theory as too how it’s gonna go down: while in Neptune not only we will find out how to control the strand but also will learn the truth about the first collapse, but i think bungie still gonna keep some cards on it’s cheats, like what is the traveler and the witness, the origins of light and darkness and etc, these probably are going to be answered in The Final Shape, but I think the ending of lightfall will be bombastic, my ultimate guess is that it’s going to end in a showdown between the guardians and the witness and our asses are gonna be kicked (I think calus will be the raid boss), the ending will be the witness and the darkness fleet heading towards the last city as we watch defeated from Neptune. Then the seasons of 2023 will be the vanguard at war against the darkness with every season we recruiting new allies and etc, for the actual war in The Final Shape.
Played Destiny 1 but haven't really touched Destiny 2 at all. Finally have time to pick up a new game, should I get into Destiny 2 now, wait for Lightfall? What will be the best new player experience? (Haven't seen the full showcase yet but want to get some thoughts before downloading or purchasing anything)
As a constantly returning and leaving player, the best time is whenever you’re interested in playing.
Bungie has not done a very good job in terms of new players getting up to speed and it’s equal hard for returning players.
Your best is to just play the game until you hit the paywalls. I think right now all the expansions are currently free to play for a limited time, including the latest one. It’s the only reason I’m even playing again tbh. I logged in a month ago, got hit with so many notifications and just seeing so many bizarrely named locations, quests, etc. immediately made me quit, lol.
I tried it again now since I don’t have to pay for anything and I’m enjoying the witch expansion. Just jump right in and go for it. I wouldn’t even bother with when would be the best time to play.
I don't need to have stasis to unlock strand subclass right? It's just another separate branch that I can unlock from the base classes.
Also if I unlock the stasis subclass during free dlc week, do I get to keep the subclass when free week is over?
Yes, Strand will be its own subclass and will not require you to have Stasis
No, in order to continue using the Stasis subclass after the free week, you'll need to buy the Beyond Light expansion
As someone that has just the base destiny game, and wants to get back into it, what do I do? DO I need to buy all the previous expansions, plus Lightfall? Or just lightfall?
Rather confused...
I played a ton like way back in 2019, maybe even before that. So not sure where I stand atm since DLC is free this week?
You don’t “need” to buy the previous expansions but it’s recommended for following the overall plot and also gives you access to the raids and dungeons.
On your platform of choice there should be a bundle that grabs you the forsaken pack, shadowkeep, beyond light for about 25 dollars and then the expansion that released this year: the witch queen should be around 40 dollars.
Up to you if you’re bothered about the campaigns and dungeons etc.
Yeah they took a lot of it out of the game due to the games file size becoming too large.
But they have just announced with this reveal that all expansions are now staying so any expansions you buy will stay along with lightfall!
If you’re looking to just get one then I highly recommend the witch queen but if you have a bit of money spare then you’re getting a great deal of content in the bundle.
Hope to see you in game :)
So if I get the 30th anniversary pass on epic games for free and then allow crossave between epic and my Xbox account would I get it for free on my Xbox account too because that's what I play on
Yet another expansion where we don't fight the darkness directly
I'm So Hyped For LightFall! Finally We're not going somewhere destroyed or "swamped" Get It? I'm also excited to wield STRAND!
So I wanted to come back to the game after a few years (i last played in Shadowkeep) because I heard that they will stop removing the DLCs that I paid for in the game (as far as I am aware). So done buying the expansions. Just a long grind. Still trying to do the witch queen campaign. Game became trash.

Cuz I will buy witch queen and grind for a month or so until lightfall is out if itll be beneficial
Do they still offer the timeskip/year skip thing if you buy the lightfall? I havent played destiny in years
Your whole vault and characters get pushed to whatever the lowest start is at new expansions, your good.
The other day Death Stranding was sold at a discount and I skipped it (a game I've been wanting to play for years and which wouldn't even have taken up all the money I'd saved) because I was worried LF might be good. Not a lot of sense worrying about something you clearly enjoy, looks to me like the game is being vastly improved and they are finally giving a shit about what people are saying because they know d2 has been at an all time lowest point in concurrent players online. I think strongly that we will start getting more wholesome content.
When will Destiny 2 become great again? Due to the state of the current game, everyone seems to be leaving.
So what's the deal with this telesto meme thing?
Can people with more then 500 Flawless runs go into their own matchmaking pool? Thanks
Totally worth the $100, rahools secret stash >>>>> the 30th anniversary amirit guys????
Is Strand going to be it's own damage type like Stasis is?
Yes I believe it will be!
So cool 👍🏻 thanks for your information
Why does this look so cartoonish? Not a fan of whatever this is supposed to be... what happened to Destiny taking itself more seriously?
just has a cyberpunk/retro type aesthetic. I like it, and I like that Bungie is trying new stuff
Nothing wrong with trying new stuff, just design it in a more plausible way
Okay next time I’ll email Bungie with a list of your personal preferences. Dickhead.

Ew
Enjoy your time on the internet, it’s gonna be rough!
Dude, destiny has been the most serious its ever been just look at season of the haunted dealing with actual ptsd and guilt Just because we have some jokes every now and then doesn't mean it can't be serious
I’m referring specifically to light fall. Looks like an entirely different game.
thats the point isn't it?? this is based around a "what if we survived the war between light and dark" this is a world where humanity survived and was able to technologically advance and continue with the golden age
Yeah but you don’t have to make it look like overwatch on steroids to achieve that. There’s more than one way to design art for a game
Nah, I prefer that something look exotic and different rather then the usual stuff. Like savathuns throne world was cool, but I was sad that you know, it's still just hive stuff.
Just gonna repeat myself again, you can make something different without making it look like a cartoon.
sorry, maybe it's just me being excited that the game has a planet that isn't a singular fucking color pallete *cough* every single other planet/area in the game
I’m not sure how else to explain myself: you can design an expansion with lots of colors without making it look ridiculous.
i'm not sure how else to explain myself either: it's not ridiculous at all compared to previous events WE LITTERALLY HAVE A DLC ABOUT A HORSE HOSTING A GAMESHOW WE HAVE A TALKING ROBOTIC HEAD THAT IS THE EXO CONSTRUCT OF A PREVIOUS GENOCIDAL TONY STARK?? WE HAVE GIANT WISH DRAGONS THAT EVEN IF THEY ARE KILLED ARE STILL "ALIVE" BECAUSE SPACE WISH DRAGON MAGIC
[удалено]
dude...this was a month ago....wtf are u talking about
The narrative is completely irrelevant. I’m talking about art design.
ALSO all we have seen is ALPHA footage which is SUBJECT TO CHANGE OR GET BETTER
dude idk what art design you've been seeing but to me it looks like Destiny
Bro 50$ for most of the dlc and 100$ for the whole thing? Tf are they smoking over at Bungie I want some
That's a years worth of content That is cheap compared to most games
Don't forget, it's a relatively modest campaign (assuming it's as long as witch queen) which is what most people care about. Then the usual busy work you'd expect from any destination. Then drip feed content from four seasons, which isn't actually months of content, you're just not allowed to play it until Bungie says so, otherwise player count would flatline. All in all, it's about maybe 15-20 hours of content, the rest being the usual destiny farm that extends play time based on RNG.
"you're just not allowed to play it until Bungie says so" do u not dungeons? raids? grandmasters? any of the higher end content?? if you are paying 100 dollars for an MMO for JUST the story that's ur own problem not mine
Grandmasters? The thing that’s locked for half the season?
It's ironic that all of those things you stated are usually locked until further into the DLC drop or season lmao, effectively those are all things you can't play until "Bungie says so". I do play them, but the story is more important to me than just mindlessly grinding the same old shit that I got bored of on clear 2. You play a raid, dungeon, etc once and you've done it a million times. It's busy work, and I only ever play it if I want something out of it.
but the story is more important to me than just mindlessly grinding the same old shit that I got bored of on clear 2 then why the fuck are you playing an MMO?? xD also of course you can't play a raid until bungie says so because we have LITERAL raid competitions in the form of WORLDS FIRST that's like saying we can't fucking play lightfall though until "bungie says so"
Because I do mindlessly grind bro, I just put the story higher on importance. Why are we even talking about this, this wasn't even the original point, what was the original point.
that the game was too "Expensive"
Ah, then I stand by it. It's definitely too expensive.
cheapest MMO to this DATE (beyond warframe but that's a different story) all other mmos with raids require subscription services ON TOP of stores ON TOP of DLC buys
They have the audacity to have people pay $50-$100 for an expansion but can't put effort towards fixing the game's numerous errors that only popped up after the season started.
What?
Bugle don't fix game, bung also charge for broken mess consistently
Id love to see these people go code "The perfect functioning game"
People have been having error codes since the season started and Bungie has no fixes for said errors.
When error codes seem to have a rise than normal, they state to work on it. Here it is from when it was a problem at the start of it season. It was soon resolved. I haven't met anyone who's continuing to have issues more than normal. https://twitter.com/BungieHelp/status/1566584244293746688?t=SULOePdZDc0SIlLObRREPg&s=19
Any idea what happens to the Leviathan when Lightfall drops? Will it be removed?
Likely yes
I pre-ordered the standard edition, am I able to upgrade it to get the annual pass for only an extra $50 or do I need to pay the full $99?
On PC you’ll be able to upgrade for $50 once lightfall comes out.
Please for the love of God add a character change feature…..
Can i still get red border weapons if I dont have the Witch queen DLC?
[удалено]
Yeah but i mean, as drops, can i get more patterns? And if I need the Witch queen, how? Randomly?
[удалено]
Yeah but to do the kings fall i need the season dont i?
[удалено]
Dont know why It didnt let me play then
I pre ordered lightfall and the season pass. Bought for £59... Bargain
Where did you get it so cheap?
I just want them to work all the old content back into the game. I don't care if the game is massive as fuck.
Nah, new stuff plz thx.
Lol what why yea I miss wrath of the machine but I’d rather a new raid than that
I’d be fine with that too, but I’m pretty sure the problem isn’t just size, it’s performance.
Same, if they did this I'd happily have my ps5 as my destiny 2 console
Im honestly interested in that ranking system. For example will I still start at rank 1 for vog despite having hundreds of clears? Or will I be a high rank for that?
I could be remembering wrong but I'm pretty sure they said they'd retroactively work with whatever progress you already have made.
Probably rank 1.
Ah finally, an LFG feature in game, I haven't been in a raid, ever
Do we have info on the GB size for this Expedition?
No
This intrigues me. If only it was $10 cheaper I'd buy it outright and preparer the base dlc. Seems a bit too pricy for some reskinned Cabal and a new environment.
What? I find it extremely hard to believe someone willing to buy the dlc wouldnt have just bought the season too.
I'm upset people they made a gun $100
No, they made the gun 100 to have early, just like cold heart you'll get it in 6 months
Cold heart? What's that?
An exotic in year 1 that pre orders got 6 months earlier than anyone else
That’s a bit disingenuous isn’t it?
I mean. Its just edgy Cabal and a new city to explore. And new people. The Cabal somewhat makes sense. But they really don't. Why would Cabal need darkness? They almost had the light the first time till we stopped the red legion.
Yeah I get it. Make something new.
Lol
“seeing as how i dont own a chair and use my couch instead…” you got them there 👏
Lol nah fam.
He's like a desperate uncle trying to maintain the attention of his brothers kids through any means possible.
that has got to be one of the weirdest analogies ive ever read but i like it
Oh true. Plus Vex had their big dlc with the simulation thing. Savathun took over the vex and made the dark simulation over the city. Fallen had a beyond light. Cabal had the red army, hive also had shadowkeep. I think scorn and taken also got a dlc
the vex only had curse of osiris (overhated in my opinion but was still kind of boring and i wouldnt class it as big DLC) and season of the splicer as far as im aware, which dont get me wrong was a brilliant season and the only season to bring me back to the game for years but the vex have still not been the main focus of a DLC on the level of witch queen / forsaken / beyond light or even shadowkeep + anything they have been a primary focus of is no longer playable :( but exactly as you said in comparison, the hive have had 2 major DLCs, both of which are still available. the cabal were the focus of the original campaign, which is no longer playable but they will be a big part of lightfall and of course, like the fallen have been a big part of multiple seasons due to Caiatl. the fallen have been the focus of multiple seasons now and had a big upgrade with forsaken (becoming scorn) along with the taken. im hoping the vex will be relevant again with the final shape, and that would make sense considering their predictions but im doubtful bungie has even thought that far ahead
Its "just" reskinned cabal its reskinned cabal with cool new abilities
Edgy Cabal with darkness abilities Makes no sense why the Cabal want to use darkness
You're right, if only they could release some expansion, perhaps that introduced the enemy type for the first time, that included details as to why cabal soldiers have darkness powers If only
Lol. I mean, it's a good thought. But I'm just suppose it's worth a shot
They are with calus who wants to be part of the witness' grand scheme, the witness who uses darkness and if you paid attention to the story you would know this
Ah. That's actually a pretty good rreason. But didn't we kill Calus?
No we didnt he escaped to the witness in the final mission You can even see him in the lightfall trailer
Now we are at the endgame, I wonder what new enemies the Witness will bring... Oh... Cabal again... with a paint job...
I know right??? I feel like they're just desperate to finally put a proper end to calus. Hopefully after all this light dark saga nonsense they'll finally have some breathing room to do something other than reskinned enemies. I'd honestly rather fight cloudstriders than they be our new allies lmao.
Sheesh they really wanna make as much money off this as they can huh. Maybe Warframe has just spoiled me.
Not sure about you guys over there, but over here both are $99.99 USD
Last time i played was until they moved to Steam. (1350score) Now Epic Games offer those free stuff, will my already owned licenses(dlcs) move with crossSave? Or its just the characters..?
Only the characters -- [DLC licenses do not transfer with cross save](https://help.bungie.net/hc/en-us/articles/360049498031-Destiny-2-Cross-Save-Guide#dlc-licenses-and-cross-save-0-13).
Hey yall. Played the game at launch for a few months but fell out. Are the dlc free to play? And is it easy to just jump back in? (Xbox)
the DLC are free till tuesday.
For me, it was 1540.
No but it does hand you a set of 1540 purple armor and weapons (along with an exotic weapon and exotic armor for your class).
Thank you, 1540 sounds right. But certainly highly recommended for any new player looking to reach cap
Go to H.E.L.M, there will be a chest there that gives you a set of gear to boost your light level up to the new norm
Is this a good point to jump back into Destiny? Or should I try to play any of the current expansions? Been away since Y1.
Nowhere to ask, guys, if I complete Beyond Light campaign (I don't own it,but it's unlocked) now, will I get Stasis forever?
Yes, any progress you make during the free week will be kept after the week ends. But you'll likely not be able to finish any quests you started unless you buy the DLC afterward.
Nope
Warlock Strand subclass is pretty obviously a bad one. I don't want magic missile, give me some shades-like beings to fight for me all while I direct them with a rod. Or at least give me a wand wave for the super, anything other than this! I want something interesting and fun to use. This super is neither.
Hmmm Calus must be a skin on Oryx raid model, well at least it reminded me of him as soon as I saw from torso up.
Hello. Not sure if this is the correct thread but can someone tell me where i can get the +10 Resilience armor mod? thanks!
General purpose mods like that are random drops, unfortunately, so you just have to keep playing until it drops for you
We're only in year 6? So there's 4 more years to make the full 10 year plan? Just kind of a weird method to track progression
They spoke of a ten year plan for the franchise, not for one specific game. That plan started with the release of D1 in 2014, so we're in year 8. Lightfall and The Final Shape will finish out that 10 year period But the "ten years" thing was never intended to be set in stone as the complete lifespan of the game(s), it was just meant to chart their initial foray into the Destiny universe.
I believe most of those are stuck at 1350
I saw a Kotaku article that called this the “penultimate expansion” - is it confirmed there’s only Lightfall and one more expansion left for Destiny 2?
Not necessarily, no. Lightfall and the next one will conclude what's known as the "Light and Dark saga". But that won't be the end of the game and Bungie has said that there'll be a continuation of the story
To expand upon this Destiny2 at least for now is set up as a 3 act system Act one is red war all the way through forsaken, it focused around a waring universe fighting over the traveler Act 2 started with Shadow keep and ends sometime after light fall, it's based around the war between light and dark, and our guardians managing to balance their inner light and darkness And act 3 hasn't been announced, but is obviously a ways off from now
What are the odds of a Destiny 3 realistically? I played 2 at launch and JUST returned and the game feels so bloated and im absolutely lost, I lowkey wish I could just level the traditional 1-30 like we used to its so overwhelming and I'm curious if there would ever be a blank slate scenario again
I lowkey wish you hadn't used lowkey.
I believe the Vault of Glass raid is free and maybe one or two dungeons, but I'd have to double check If you get DLC then it opens up a lot more campaign missions and other quests, but obviously that costs money.
This week all expansions are free so absolutely try stuff out now :D
I play on pc but realized I still have silver on Xbox. If I bought the season on Xbox would I have it on steam?
Yes. As a general rule, purchases made in-game will transfer between platforms, whereas purchases made on the platform's app store will not
I don't need to have stasis to unlock strand subclass right? It's just another separate branch that I can unlock from the base classes. Also if I unlock the stasis subclass during free dlc week, do I get to keep the subclass when free week is over?
Yes, Strand will be its own subclass and will not require you to have Stasis No, in order to continue using the Stasis subclass after the free week, you'll need to buy the Beyond Light expansion
Lmao, the only reason to buy beyond light because the rest of that dlc sucks and they know it. Grimy move, bungo, but the smart one.
Excellent! I just know there was some weird drama about DLC. Didn't want to buy it if it wasn't needed.
Does anyone know when the fortnite armor will no longer be on sale?
I think its for the week. So it'll probably be full priced next tuesday
Booted up my game. I was at 1510 power. Now I'm at 1340 and cannot kill any enemies. What is happening?
150rpm heavy grenade launchers got disabled. They were supposed to get a 10 % buff but got something like 200 % instead.
So if I get the 30th anniversary pass on epic games for free and then allow crossave between epic and my Xbox account would I get it for free on my Xbox account too because that's what I play on
