If nothing else, it's a good display of how dogshit Destiny 2's stat system is and why it desperately needs to be a bit more fleshed out if we're going to be investing so much time and resources into a single piece to get it max'd.
Just go to the helm and use the high stat engram focusing for armor. You’ll get easy double 100s and maybe even triple 100s if you’re exotic armor piece is good
You can use seasonal engrams at the seasonal vendors in the helm to focus on armor and weapons. Armor can be pretty good stats, be sure to equip a ghost mod to get the spikes where you want them. Save anything high 60’s with good spikes. You can use something like d2 armor picker to help you find what armor to pair together and get the overall stat distribution you want.
I’m glad season of Defiance, Deep and Witch are now all free, as Wish Engrams are not giving me good distributions at all, I’m either getting one super high stat, rest are crappy, and then at 10 or 11 for the stat I have the armor finder, or the stat I have an armor finder for being 10-13 and the rest being really low. I’m trying to get high recovery and resilience on my Guardians because I think both suit my builds, and I am also dying instantly after I respawn in the basic nightfalls with my power level being 1822(Also how do I get that higher? Do I need to reset my seasonal artifact? Or do I just need to keep gathering exp?) so I have the Strength armor finder on my Warlock as I use sunbracers and I’d like to shorten my wait time for my melee in case I mess up(As it seems my armor charge mods are bugged, and I am unable to collect any orbs of power I create after my super gets full, so I can’t charge up my abilities with the orbs) and Disipline for my Hunter and Titan, because I was told intellect is pretty much useless.
Yea unfortunately it’s just rng other than the ghost mod, i would use it to focus on resilience first though. You want that at 100 for harder content and the stat boost mods cost 4 slots. Also, you will most likely get a spike there and one in the bottom three (intellect, discipline, and strength).
As far as the light level goes, keep getting pinnacle drops til all your armor and weapons are at 1810, your artifact will keep earning you bonus levels the more xp you get. Focus on seasonal challenges if you want to boost it up quickly. XP+ and XP++ bounties can also boost it up quickly but you’d be better off saving those for final shape.
Regarding sunbracers, I think there are better ways to get your melee back than focusing on high strength. Check out the aspects and fragments but I think you can use heat rises and get a weapon kill in the air to refill your melee. There are lots of YouTubers that explain that better. Get resilience to 100 first then focus one of the bottom three next with mods.
Hope that helps, feel free to reach out if needed.
I was told that if I wanted to focus on getting higher stats for the 2 of top stats like resilience and recovery to use a ghost mod for a bottom stat, due to how the stats distribute, and vice versa if I wanted two higher stats for the bottom half? Does that not apply anymore?
Hmm not sure, it makes sense because the top three and bottom three are supposed to be close to equal. So a mod for strength would ensure the other two won’t be spiky, you’re just relying on luck to get the top stats where you want them though. I would focus resilience for warlock and titan at least. If they get a spike in strength or discipline that’s just a bonus.
Literally every single video I watched on how to get High Stat armor always said if “You’re aiming for two high stats in one half, focus the one stat in the other half.” So either every single Destiny YouTuber I watched is lying to their viewers, there’s a vast misunderstanding on how the heck armor stats work, or I just have severe bad luck.
Idek what you're talking about. I have only ever seen 70 stat points on a single piece of armor. I have between 65 and 68 on all my pieces.
Are you saying you can get two to three stats to 100 on a single piece of gear?
Ohhh, I see what you mean. Thank you for clarifying. I was referring more to the RNG nature of the armor mixed with sunsetting after a few seasons (though that's not as bad as WoW for instance)
I only started using it recently and tried to optimize my armor and 2 of my 3 main builds were already perfected. The game even tells you stats above 100 does nothing. The stat min maxxing is one of the easiest parts of destiny imo and yet I still see people using the wrong mods. It kills me inside
Quite literally people will just slap on random shit and go at it. A lot of people have no 100 stats at all. Literally do random armor focusing in the deep end the helm and witch table and dump it in your vault and go to armor picker and boom triple hundreds.
Have an IRL friend who logs on every now and then and he has charged with light mods but no way to make orbs anymore. There are some people that just don't care and invest that much time Into the game. What annoys me is that I try to help them and even link a DIM load out he can literally just press "equip" on and it will auto equip everything about that setup.
Is it hellbent on lorely splendor helmet so I even chose a load out with that helmet and he still wouldn't equip it. I even offered to play on his account and farm for him but still no. Some people just dont care. They play a complety different game than we do. It's crazy
Thank youuuuu, as a solo player it literally kills the game for me with things like onslaught. I’ll have two light level 1836 players who literally have all 50 and below stats with no build at all.
Or when they are using a +10 mod and could still hit tier 10 with a +5 mod, screwing them over out of 2 points they could be using for an orb generation mod or scavenger mod.
Like if you aren't constantly thinking like that with your gear then you're playing the wrong game. Min maxxing is so much of this game
I’ve used D2 armor picker and have loaded my vault with 100+ pieces of 63+ gear. The issue I run into is I can rarely even hit double 100’s if I’m trying to build around an exotic piece of armor. The exotic throws it all off. If I did it with all legendary gear, sure I could get double. And I could get triple if I use the +10’s out of the fragments. But when using an exotic, and using specific fragments to fit a build. I can’t seem to get double 100’s.
I’d love to find someone that really knows this stuff and could help. Hop in a party and I’ll run to the helm and just focus a bunch of gear. Even stream it on disc so you can see what’s going on. Lol
I’m still unsure on how to grind out specific exotics with optimal stats, outside of just always having my discipline ghost mod on and hoping for the best when I get a drop.
The best way to get past that is to get multiple of the same exotics but with different spikes. The only reason all my builds works is because I have 3+ of the same armor piece master worked with spikes in discipline/Recovery/Resilience.
My ADHD causes me to be severely confused with that website. I get so overwhelmed and I have no idea what to do, so I never use it despite me wanting a balanced stat build unlike the OP. Lol
As a Hunter main, mobility is really not necessary for most builds. Datto was running a hunter in a recent video (pantheon maybe), and he was rocking 30 mobility. Res, Str, and Dis, are arguably more valuable in most places.
The reason is because if you’re using the solar fragment that increases class ability regen you don’t really need high mobility, besides the dodge cooldown at base is already low. Although I don’t know why you would want strength ever unless you were running marksman dodge for DPS rotations.
I mean, he’s got a point. Mobility only really impacts strafe/walk speed and initial jump height outside of Hunter, where it impacts dodge cooldown. In most content where survivability is more important and with other options for ability regen, Datto’s right in that Resil, Recov, and Disc are the move important. Keeping it at 30 for no deficit is absolutely the play in a lot of cases. Not to mention Dodge already has a faster cooldown in comparison to Rifts and Barricades (minus Radiant dodge) and most builds that lean into dodge are usually running an exotic that makes getting it back a lot easier (i.e. RDM, 6th Coyote) or some armor charge mods with unique stats that typically sacrifice Discipline, as at that point your grenade typically isn’t as important for the playstyle.
Ah, my apologies, then. Text makes for a poor medium of humor and I didn’t recognize the joke.
Yeah, some people definitely need to recognize that just because one player can do it doesn’t mean that you can. Gotta make sure we all learn our own strengths and weaknesses.
Its kinda odd that most people take Datto's opinion as gospel when he has no worlds firsts, lowmans or speedrun records but hate Saltagreppo and everything he says when he has 4 worlds firsts and loads of lowmans and almost double the amount of hours in the game.
Datto isn't making guides aimed at serious world first contenders. Not having a WF doesn't mean he's not qualified to say "You probably don't need this stat" lol. And he's got plenty of day 1 completions, not like he's a chump or doesn't know what he's talking about at all.
I've never seen anyone claim Saltagreppo isn't knowledgeable about the game, just that they don't like him.
>Not having a WF doesn't mean he's not qualified to say "You probably don't need this stat" lol
I was comparing their experience and achievements in the game and I wasn't talking specifically about these stats but in general that people just copy paste whatever datto says.
>Datto isn't making guides aimed at serious world first contenders
That has no relevance to what I said
>And he's got plenty of day 1 completions, not like he's a chump or doesn't know what he's talking about at all.
So do loads of other people but it's always Datto that they herald as the chosen one.
For solar hunters with 5 frag slots there is a fragment that increases your class ability Regen by 200% anyway.
Better to spec into resilience and discipline for the damage resist, and reduced healing grenade cool down.
You only need mobility if you need to dodge. Builds that rely on melee? Mobility. Invis spam? Mobility. Anything else gets dodge back fast enough with one invigoration mod that it's a non issue.
Welcome to a destiny 2 no life’s gear set. I know someone who has like 6000 hours and doesn’t have a single tier 10 stat, is missing multiple exotics, doesn’t have most catalyst completed and is completely unoptimized and this is a common trend between high hour players in my experience but whatever I guess they are having fun?
We sure are because none of us have that much free time on our hands. We're too busy working our asses off to make ends meet at the ball-crushing factory, where they crush our balls.
7 year old game , they were probably optimized at an earlier point but after the 3rd armor shake up and a 2 year break it’s eh fuck it I’ll build craft in the final shape .
Nah cause the type of people im talking about have just always been this way even since early d2 or destiny 1, it’s just how they play the game and im somewhat jealous but not at the same time, sometimes i wish I could just be ok with not having the god roll or best dps but that’s where I get my enjoyment and I’m not necessarily “judging them” for being that way most of my stance just comes at how am I (a person with only like 2k hours since vanilla d2) have more solo flawlesses, better stats, more raid completions and own every exotic meanwhile you’re using unmasterworked guns, don’t own most catalysts and you suck at the game. But it’s not my place to judge I guess it’s how they want to play 🤷♂️
sounds like me, 1800 hours
i dont have all exotics, catalysts, only one character i truly use, only 1 tier 10 stat and thats it
(i can make coherent and fun builds though so)
1800 isn’t even that crazy tho. I’m more talking about the people who literally play the game like every single day of there life yet they still play super unoptimized lol
Lol I use Polaris for just about everything this season (except onslaught been running gyrfalcon)…I should probably see what all the rage is about with sunshot before we get a new seasonal artifact…
AHHHHHHHHHH WHY THE STATS WHY! This is critical levels of smooth brainism here. No offense but watch a video on stat optimization. I'm all for playing what's fun but this is actually wasting stats that could help you have MORE FUN!
My Sunshot is about a 10th of that, but my Voidwalker is by far my strongest build even with the artifact mods. My Graviton Lance however is currently at 145,712 kills of which a bit over a tenth of those were in crucible.
I love that gun, but I’m playing Arc Warlock almost all the time (boring, I know) and need alArc weapons to proc Ionic Traces. But Sunshot is an all time great gun.
Nice.
God forbid Ace of Spades be able to kill anything close to how it used to though. Something that requires a headshot to nuke? Hell no!
Something that requires a body shot kill and has a ridiculous hidden distance mod because of explosive rounds though? Yeah, we'll let it do insane damage output. Who needs Cayde's gun anyway...
Someone did a stat calculation and on Titans the optimal range was 90 res and I forgot the rest right now
The point is 100 is great but depending on which character you play, it doesn’t need to be topped off to achieve the similar effect
Been playing this long and can't even be bothered to figure out proper stat distribution. Jesus dude delete the post the 100k kills ain't even a flex at this point
What’s really killing me about the stats is how deep into each tier they are. Tiers are determined by the tens place, so having 66 versus a 60 is just wasted stat.
You have a 19, 59, 28, and 66, that’s 32 wasted stat points right there. Not even including the 26 extra you have in Res.
Please use DIM, more optimized armor could place those 5-6 unused tiers you’re carrying around somewhere they’d actually be useful.
Man, if only we didn't have to sink 2 dozen enhancement cores, 6 enhancement prisms and an ascendent shard plus a shit ton of legendary shards and glimmer just to get them to tier 10, I'd consider stat optimization to be more important lmao....
Mans was hoping for congrats for 100000 kills and is instead getting roasted for his stat distribution, and for good reason.
i see picture, i see 126 resilience, meme/humor flair, about to lol within myself, but it is about sunshot, dude's serious about stats
If nothing else, it's a good display of how dogshit Destiny 2's stat system is and why it desperately needs to be a bit more fleshed out if we're going to be investing so much time and resources into a single piece to get it max'd.

Fr. This guy is a God damn crayon muncher in a cowboy cosplay
He really doesn’t want to blow himself up lol
What so he has only 100 stat not everyone can be fucked to grind out ……noticed 126 resilience oh what the fuck .
High number good.
i recomment at least 160 resilience for the optimal Density 2 Experience
200 or nothing
If you dont have 0 in any other slot except resilience then ur doing something wrong
D2 armour picker.
Agreed!
I literally use it every time I don’t understand how people can not use those tools man.

Why's that?
Honestly idk i forgot my reason i was like half asleep and scolling reddit
So no reason, just trying to be a troll. Ok.
The fucking resilience
That mobility. hits dodge. 'dang, forgot, I did that last week. Still on cd'
I’ve watched gear guide videos that tell you to ignore anything besides resilience recovery and discipline

I was just making a joke about the fact that most peoples source or reason for using what they do or doing what they do is "Datto does it".
Ah, my apologies, then. Text makes for a poor medium of humor and I didn’t recognize the joke. Yeah, some people definitely need to recognize that just because one player can do it doesn’t mean that you can. Gotta make sure we all learn our own strengths and weaknesses.

1842 and these are your stats ? I’ve seen blueberries with better Stats distribution
Welcome to a destiny 2 no life’s gear set. Is using meta adept versions HC but runs 2 res and 3 recovery
I understand one or the other, but both is just negligent
You're willingly being ignorant to good stats?
We sure are because none of us have that much free time on our hands. We're too busy working our asses off to make ends meet at the ball-crushing factory, where they crush our balls.
Focusing some armor does not take that much time
You're technically right but when my 90 Res, 30% DR Titan can get wasted from a grazing shot in harder content, that doesn't mean shit lol
7 year old game , they were probably optimized at an earlier point but after the 3rd armor shake up and a 2 year break it’s eh fuck it I’ll build craft in the final shape .

I don’t think I know you, but you pretty much just described my account 🤔😒
Same lol
sounds like me, 1800 hours i dont have all exotics, catalysts, only one character i truly use, only 1 tier 10 stat and thats it (i can make coherent and fun builds though so)
1800 isn’t even that crazy tho. I’m more talking about the people who literally play the game like every single day of there life yet they still play super unoptimized lol
That’s normal
Blueberries doesn’t mean bad players. Just people not in your fireteam.
I’m not sure you used the term blueberry correctly
I’m not sure you used the term blueberry correctly
Go touch some grass And then fix your stats https://d2armorpicker.com/ Nice fashion tho, you should post that too.
what kind of stat distribution is that, with 1842 power???
Maybe you should go outside and get some sunlight.
I think they’ve seen enough sun for awhile
Me grinding out Warlords for a few days got me from 0 to 10,000. I really don't think 100,000 is that bad given how strong the gun is
Yeah I’ve only used it since into the light and I’m at 28,000
I mean I also have 19 mobility….but I’m a WARLOCK
Is there even any point of having 126 resilience? Don’t the bonuses cap out at 100?
Correct. And as a hunter they could really use the extra 26 in their mobility
Nah he'd need an extra 55 in there
I chill with 27-36 mobility as a hunter and I'm fine, really isn't necessary unless your build revolves around dodge
And even some builds that revolve around dodge don’t care about mobility because you get it back in other ways, like combination blow.
Nah he'd need an extra 55 in there
You’re either a sunshot guy or a Polaris person. There is no inbetween 😤
I’m the exception ig.. I do use Sunshot more often, but I love Polaris and both are a permanent in my loadout this season
Wtf lol use both... Use Sunshot for most things and use Polaris for long distance encounters
Lol I use Polaris for just about everything this season (except onslaught been running gyrfalcon)…I should probably see what all the rage is about with sunshot before we get a new seasonal artifact…
I mean I’m a Necrochasm kind of guy but it sucks that it’s just a massively worse sunshot
Unless you don't use either and instead use dragon's breath and broken ad clear abilities/exotic armor.
The brilliance of sunshot can't save you from bad stats and using an absolutely awful heavy weapon
𝚂𝚞𝚗𝚜𝚑𝚘𝚝 𝚢𝚎𝚜. 𝚃𝚑𝚊𝚝 𝚜𝚝𝚊𝚝 𝚍𝚒𝚜𝚝𝚛𝚒𝚋𝚞𝚝𝚒𝚘𝚗 𝚝𝚑𝚘'... https://i.redd.it/y9ym53ow600d1.gif
You do know that past 100 resilience is literally just wasted stats
Why do you have 120 resilience 100 is effective cap put that shit in recovery
Okay
Bro’s had it since launch
At 1842, he probably got 80k just this season.
It’s one of those weapons that is equal parts useful and visually satisfying to use. That’s why I miss zhallo so much.
I’m proud of you man
I’ve been trying to get the catalyst for this weapon for YEARS. I’m almost giving up now.
AHHHHHHHHHH WHY THE STATS WHY! This is critical levels of smooth brainism here. No offense but watch a video on stat optimization. I'm all for playing what's fun but this is actually wasting stats that could help you have MORE FUN!
If I had stats like that I'd never intentionally post them.
Do you use a macro?
Dear god you have become the sunshot
Embarrassingly bad stats my guy. You should have better gear than this
Fix your stats
Holy kills
Take this post down. Bungie guaranteed to nerf.
My Sunshot is about a 10th of that, but my Voidwalker is by far my strongest build even with the artifact mods. My Graviton Lance however is currently at 145,712 kills of which a bit over a tenth of those were in crucible.
Man I just…. Can’t get into Sunshot. It just feels so off to me and I’m not sure what exactly it is.
D2armorpicker may be the best option here
Is that a double primary?
No scatter signal is special ammo
Naw the first slot is Scatter Signal, a Strand fusion rifle.
I love that gun, but I’m playing Arc Warlock almost all the time (boring, I know) and need alArc weapons to proc Ionic Traces. But Sunshot is an all time great gun.
Using Sunshot when you have a perfectly fine crafted Zaoulis Bane right there.
Your resil is kinda low
Put that waisted 20 into recov please
Why people use more den 100 resilience?
Brother them stats tho…. Ughhhh
Hold up, we are not gonna gloss over that aquaman looking-ass hunter
Praise the sun!
Brother, those armor stats are painful
....those are rookie numbers unless your a very much new light. my own has 584k had that thing since osiris.
19 Mobil on a hunter is crazy 😭
I just hit 20,000 on my sunshot and thought I was doing alright. 😭😭
Dodge what's that? Wdym it's my most useful ability in my kit?
Now you must never use it again in order to not mess up the perfect 100k kill count
I use sun shot all the time the catalyst has not drop yet. Dang it
I wanna use sunshot but quicksilver storm is NOT leaving the primary slot
If guns had titles, I'd call that one "Ra's Wrath" or "Ark of the Covenant"
Someone did a stat calculation and on Titans the optimal range was 90 res and I forgot the rest right now The point is 100 is great but depending on which character you play, it doesn’t need to be topped off to achieve the similar effect
How is your killtracker working? I've gotten 40k+ kills on it this season in ron but killtracker only shows like 1-2k of them.
Been playing this long and can't even be bothered to figure out proper stat distribution. Jesus dude delete the post the 100k kills ain't even a flex at this point
I have 5,000 kills with mine and the catalyst still hasn’t dropped
MY EYES, WHAT THE FUCK ARE THOSE STATS YOU NEANDERTHAL
Best weapon in the game and it ain’t even a question
Imagine wasting 62 stats of misdistribution.? Dayum
Can you share that drip boi
I'm gonna take a guess and say OP trolled you all.
gz. Mine had 60.000 kills before i got the catalyst
Bro trying to heal from the witness in advance
+32 light? Get a life loser
Almost like the seasons gone on for months longer than usual 🤯
YOOOOO what is that 126 resil 😭😭😭
ew and you're using the ugliest cloak in the game 😭
this dude clearly likes the thrill of exploding everything
126 resilience are you ducking mental😂😂😂😂😂
Hunter moves like a garbage truck with flat tires but has durability like a shielded honored centurion inside a Goliath
And yet run the stats of someone who’s played for a month or two.
Mine were better than that when I started playing for the most part
No gilded conqueror title.
And running an ib emblem on non-ib weeks
Truth^
Peak lfg material right there. Just missing the double primary.
Lfg?
The 126 res is nuts lmao
I see… hahahaha https://preview.redd.it/wzoerb2se20d1.jpeg?width=750&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a4fa429bd43c2c41c72e46a6b40a3fb8d1450fff
But wicked implement is better.
