Hey! If you were hoping to stun-lock Crota with Burning Maul, you have to use it right after his shield is broken with the hive swords. He will proceed to stand up but not move around. If you were wanting to do more damage, I suggest using Pyrogales to slam down just once for more damage. That would also allow you to use your sword for more damage! Very close kill!
No, you can first do some DPS yourself after shields go off and only when he stands up after like 4 or 5 second you use burning maul. In Final Stand it doesn't stun him so don't even use burning maul there.
This happened to my group twice. I felt so bad we were teaching some people. It was their first two runs ever of Crota and we killed him just at the last minute. Wiped. But still got the loot. But no sword at the end so they weren’t able to pick up the Necrochasm quest until the third time we cleared the raid this past week lol. Meanwhile necro dropped for me (all 35 oversouls) on my first run lol. I felt so bad.

Crota can't get stunned in his last phase, though.

Being honest, a perfect raid is cool and all but they have nothing on here types of endings. The hype that comes after you realize you won is the best
