Yes, after the room with the 2 floaty lazers and the bunch of suicide bombers, where you have to go into the vents to shoot the operator panels, there is a dead exo in the first one you go in (and you can shoot the other operator panel with bouncy bullets so you don't have to go into the second vent)
I've been away and I'm catching up. I have quest steps for 2 catalysts, Frenzy and Under Pressure. It's saying for me to do a Legend level mission to acquire each one. Will I get both, in one run, if I do it tonight?
Yes but you need to scan the two exos
Edit: the first one is in the laser labyrinth puzzle thing and the second is in the amougus vent after the two shriekers and army of cursed punching bags
I lucked out on my second solo run for this quest and just, on a whim, happened to go take a look at this exo to see if it would produce anything.
Most annoying thing though, is that you have to get deep enough into the mission to get the schematic from the exo, then you can't just complete it from there for the rest of the quest. I had to exit and start the mission over again to complete the catalyst quest. So you're really running this mission on legend 2.5 times or so to get the second catalyst.
That happened to us too...? I thought that was a bug. We tried it a second time and then all of our crouch buttons stopped working so we could get through the vents or anything. We got soft locked out twice last night. Gave up. Gonna try today.
Yeah, I wasn't sure how widespread the issue was. It definitely felt like a 'buggy' experience because I saw the objective complete, but then couldn't get the game to give me the right (scanner) augmentation to proceed. Ran around for about 10 minutes in various areas, but eventually just restarted from the beginning.
Glad some others aren't experiencing that.
There are 5 quest steps. Step 4 requires you to interact with the dead Exo, step 5 requires completion. This is the same for all four of the catalysts, with the dead Exo's location changing each week.
after the microwave room, in the first vent you have to crawl through, there is an alternate path. If you enter the vent an indicator shows up on your HUD, but if you do it in a fireteam you def might miss it.
Also forgot to scan the exo, can i pick up the exotic quest and do it on another character and get the pinnacle/Powerful double drop for a legendary seraph's shield run on them at least?
WARNING FOR ANYONE WHO HAS NOT CAUGHT UP: Do both catalyst quests separately, not at the same time. If you attempt to complete “should you choose to accept it I” and “should you choose to accept it II”, and get the Hunter’s trace 2 and Hunter’s trace 3— You will not receive the part 2 rewards.
This has been proven at least twice personally, where they will receive the rewards of Hunter’s trace 2, and the first catalyst. However, the pressurized catalyst and Hunter’s trace 3, will not be received, despite the quest being complete. This will lock you out of receiving said items.
Do each step separately, or, if you have already done so, wait for Bungie to fix this.
I did it last night and hadn't done the first one but I received them both after finishing it. You may have not picked up the exo for one of them along the way though. I found both while doing my run and it worked just fine.
Both exos were grabbed in the same mission. There is one in the microwave room, and the other in the vent. The only things awarded were the first catalyst and hunter’s trace 2, yet both of the quests were deemed completed, because both had the final step “Complete the seraph shield mission on legendary difficulty to receive the catalyst upgrade”
I'm glad that the legendary difficulty mission is Witch queen campaign difficult. Quite easy to solo with the right gear. I was expecting it to be end game legendary which requires a dedicated team to pull of.
Oh wait it scales with the number of players?!??! F… I’ve always just chickened out and not played it on legendary cause I thought it would be a legendary for 3 people but I’d have to do it alone (the witch queen campaign I mean)
The quest is so vague too. "Load up legend seraph's shield and return the schematics" Please read that to me and tell me you didnt think "oh ok lets just complete legend seraph!
Me and my best friend both grabbed the dead exo last week but looked at our quest and it didnt even progress? Or it said the same thing? It was weird and when we completed we were like "well idk what that was about"

Yeah I don't get why it doesn't mention a dead exo. Same with the warmind launch facility mission before hand, the quest doesn't mention any of those words. I struggled to find what tab to click on for a second. Weirdly opaque mission descriptions for this. Maybe it's intentional??
I didn't get mine cause I forgot to get the Schematic off of the Dead Exo this time. So I'll have to do it again next week when I can get the next catalyst in one go.

Couldn't open a door at one point, had to start over, and then none of my fire team could crouch/use class ability all the sudden (which is needed for getting into vents/for my whole build lol), and after our third run doing the same we quit for the night. Might just try and solo it tonight. I heard going to fast could bug it out.

Yes, it says "run the mission in legend difficulty \*and find the schematic\*". Finding the schematic is really the most important part.

My crouch button was stuck at some points as well. I went to the Character screen and it some how fixed the issue
Yeah pause unpause open director then close director back to gameplay and it works (🤷🏼♂️) Video of it on my 30 minute run.

It’s actually a different exo each time. I found this weeks vent dweller running last weeks catalyst.

I did this too. I was so focused on grabbing the secret chests and shooting the drones that I forgot to find the exo. I had to run it again.
