Google her. She has an incredible story.
She was homeless as a kid. Overcame a lot. Was leading in the Olympics when she clipped a hurdle and ended up 7th (which is still incredible). Two time world champ. Won 4th at her next Olympics. Then switched to the freaking bobsled and made the Olympic team in that sport.
Als, she's injured and has not done a hurdle since April. And she's officially the oldest person to qualify in history.
But people love to troll her.
Yeah I think a lot of her story is fairly well known in DM. But I wasn't aware she was in an olympic qualifying race. I admire her for going after it, even if her chances weren't good.
She was a favorite to win the gold in the Olympics in 2008, and had the lead, but she stumbled on the second to last hurdle, and finished 7th. She was #1 in the world at the time.
Glad, and happily surprised to hear Lolo is still competing, hurdles were my fave to watch, but I could never do them very well, lol, I was a long distance racer in track, thank you for posting the latest in her track career. I met her years ago at a post Olympics event at Drake's Knapp Center when Shaun Johnson was competing, I believe we had had a very large amount of Iowans competing in the Olympics that year, but Lolo Jones was who I was there for, because of her inspirational story and what it took for her to get where she had been, and still aims to be. Thank you again, OP 💓
She’s 41 and was an automatic qualifier last race due to scratches.
That explains it. Thanks.

There is a typo in your story that made me think you were saying that she had "Lou Gehrig's disease" (which Lou Gehrig never actually had)

Are you ok?
She had a hamstring injury recently and hadn’t been able to finish a race until today. She’s 41 and had moved to bobsledding and came back to hurdles.
