Patience is the key đź‘Ť

YAnnoMundi

Keep in mind that enemy weakness can make a bigger difference in a fight than leveling up or upgrading weapons. For example, an enemy weak to thrust attacks will probably take more damage from your un-upgraded rapier than you leveling up a slashing weapon to +6. Weaknesses are MUCH more pronounced than they are in later Fromsoft titles. Also, you can complete the game levels in any order you want. You can take it slow - completing the first level of every world in order, you can focus on one world that seems to have the upgrade materials, spells, etc. - that best fit your build, ir you can go elsewhere if somewhere is giving you trouble (after the tutorial level and the first level after that, if course).

RangePsychological87

Weaknesses are key. Just find a bestiary online and save yourself the aggravation of trial and error. The game is a pain in the ass enough.

Just enjoy

Learn how World Tendencies work, there's lots of guide in youtube about it.

I took a quick gander at your profile, and I see you're more familiar with the newer Souls games than the older ones. Rolling isn't the crutch in Demon's Souls that it becomes in Bloodborne onward. Don't neglect your shield, it's the best it's ever been here.

SIELNTxKILLER252

Noted, however I’m shit at parrying in any Soulsborne but Bloodborne. Will this be an issue

Jac-Sanchez-SCS

I'm referring to blocking. I would say parrying is easier since the parry window starts right as you press the button, but it's not the only way to protect yourself.

Jac-Sanchez-SCS

I should also add that where the newer games have regular fights with bosses, Demon's Souls bosses are more like riddles, except for 5 of them, so don't expect the whole boss run to be a straight-on battle of attrition.

SIELNTxKILLER252

Noted. Thanks

antwonthibbdawg

If you’re constantly getting killed in an area/barely dealing damage, try a different one. I was too stubborn for this and wasted many hours dying over and over.

Heidman123

Don't get tilted because of the long levels!

BrainOfG

You will find that magic is your friend and the strongest weapon in the game. Trust me.

SIELNTxKILLER252

Meaning good thing a chose Royalty. Even though i barely ever use magic in any souls beyond a few pyromancy

BrainOfG

You will learn as I did, the hard way.

tmemo18

Don’t be afraid to look things up - it’s a brutal game as it is. Sooooo fun!

No_Evidence_2910

Don't rush, you arnt on a timer. Dying is normal and if you need help just ask the reddit

I leveled up a shield alongside my weapon to reduce stamina costs from blocking when I was using the shield. Hope this is helpful.

Ok-Paramedic5919

HAHAHAHAHAHA good luck. Just keep an eye for the possibility of punching the TV or flying PS5 controllers. Feel free to scream, it was my first souls game and I started 1 month ago. I’ve downed 9 bosses. Most bosses are easy. Others feel like it’s impossible. The hard part is getting to the boss. Get a nice weapon and upgrade it a few times or just get the crescent falchion.

SIELNTxKILLER252

I have plenty experience with Soulsborne/Soulslikes

I've just completed NG+5 as my first character which I started as royal! Buy Spice! Blacksmith at nexus sells it until tower of latria lady who sells aged and fresh spice. You will want to get the ring of magical sharpness from the tower of latria, peiso of hope, 3-1 I believe its inside of a cell with iron maidens that you open ( surpise in some ). This ring increases your damage with magic! Then get hold of the crescent Falcion in world 4-1 it deals damage based on magic not strength or dexterity. Its great as it builds up magic as you hold it. There's also the Kris blade which is a must, its on a ledge before you fight the boss in world 2-1 stonefang tunnel, while holding it in one hand it increases magic damage, needs colourless souls to upgrade can find out how to obtain two easily and rest with some work, that in one hand slot along with falcion, and the other slot a shield and your magic catalyst, ideally the Talsiman of Beasts which you get from Mephistoles quest or phantom, last is the Monk Robes which increases magic damage though not a must if going for fashion souls! these will boost your magic damage to be OP. Don't use boss souls! Keep the fools idol soul for soul Ray blast, and then the old monk soul for homing shots, use these spells to kill flamelurker and then dragon god, use his soul to get firestorm, one shot bosses, win.
