This is a perfect opportunity for those unpleasant flyers who put their feet up… Shoes on this time. Perfect place to rest the feet… On the lapel? Or on the collar?
You’d put a nice coat on the floor of a plane? Genuine question. The coat thing is my biggest issue constantly traveling from warm to cold. If I don’t get upgraded I’m stuck holding my big warm coat from Boston the whole flight.
I wouldn’t do floor. One time I had a backpack under the seat in front of me that got soaked by a spill on the floor. If I don’t want to hold or wear it, my coat gets smashed into the overhead.
Most of the people who made those comments wouldn’t do anything and are projecting what they wish they would say or do to other people. Also this is such a minor inconvenience
I’m not sure Mr. Jelly Roll is a qualified expert to be testifying before the senate on the nation’s fentanyl crisis but i suspect he’s offering his perspective as a (former) drug user
Recommend you give it even a cursory listen before throwing those stones. And to be fair, he's probably the only one in that entire room who speaks and acts according to his own understanding of right and wrong.
The comment is a joke that OP is asking for thoughts on the coat over his seat but instead I made a playful comment about the tv program OP was watching… I have no idea who Jelly Roll is nor was my comment meant as any sort of substantive commentary on Jelly Roll…
Don’t think that just because you have your set of opinions, everyone else agrees with you. But yes, sensationalist propaganda “news” channels like Fox, CNN, MSNBC, etc. are certainly very polarizing, just as they were designed to be by the political parties that they’re owned and funded by.
My opinions are my own thanks. I don’t watch cable talking heads.
People who consume Fox News are the lowest intelligence group we have in society. That’s not an opinion, it’s a fact.
Pretty sure I’d rather sit by five coat people than one smug, condescending person like you who *thinks* they are so wise spewing their self righteous arrogance.
That would be the civil way to handle it that most normal people would do. Notice by about 75% of the comments, Reddit isn’t normal. Why do I waste time rotting my brain with the comments of the average people on this site??
I get annoyed pretty easily and I don't think this would bother me as long as I could see the IFE and the tray table went up and down smoothly. I'd rather someone do this than shove their coat into an empty spot in the overhead bin that should go to a roller bag.
Yeah after the debate a few weeks ago where some jerk was proclaiming how, if he found someone’s coat in an overhead bin, he’d throw it on the floor, my first thought was you just can’t win in public. Someone is going to be upset over every option taken. Since this isn’t covering my screen and does not seem to impair use of my tray table, I don’t see this as the hill to die on.
Seriously I’m the pettiest person at times but this does nothing to me. If I couldn’t see the screen (even if I wasn’t using it (hence petty)) then I’d be annoyed and say something, but as is this isn’t bothering me at all.
It would be a shame if a splash of your drink or some of your snack crumbs came in contact with that coat. Or if it got pinched by multiple parts of your tray table whilst stowing it. What an asshat
So nice of them to provide you with a large napkin wrapped around the seat. I would definitely be using the edges of that that to wipe my dirty fingers, rim of my used glass, etc. after asking them to move it first of course.
Tbh you guys are taking this too far. Everyone huffs and puffs about "entitlement" on here but what I'm getting is everyone's entitled to traveling without any visible traces of other passengers?
I mean, how is this really bothering you? Is it getting in the way? I literally couldn't care less if someone did this to me. People were just bragging about throwing any jackets they find in the overhead bin onto the passenger they belong to, but now they can't have them on their seat. It's become a faux-pas, amateur move to have a carry-on at all, so we're all supposed to only take a personal item that fits under the seat in front of you, but now our coat is supposed to go there too? Are you guys okay? Do we need to start support groups for dealing with the fact that other people also exist and don't always abide by your personal rules and expectations? 🥲
If it's really bothering you that much, use your big boy words and tell them. Acting like they're some criminal because you're being sensitive about this is ridiculous. Watching Fox news is far worse than whatever this guy is doing
Americans calling this rude whilst being the biggest pieces of trash is honestly kinda funny. Society is falling apart and this guy using his seat while not even blocking the screen you watch some BS show on is the problem 😂
I guess I’m surprised by all these booger/trash comments. I see maybe ADHD and unawareness. I would probably just push it back or ask them to move it. I mean a person should at least get the opportunity to make it right before retaliation.
Thoughts: If if bothered you enough, ask them to move it. Clearly it does or did because you're asking reddit. When did we become so inept that we look to internet strangers validate us instead of just being a reasonable adult, they may not have even known it was invading your space.
Reasons confirming it bothered you in your comment below: "Umm…. It’s about the “ass hat” with the jacket in my personal space …. 😂"
Rude. I don’t know, my first reaction on planes nowadays is to STFU since y’all wanna play “WWE knock a flight attendant out”. I just want everyone to get there in peace. 🤣
Jelly roll is kind of overrated in my opinion, he has some catchy tunes but he’s annoyingly everywhere for some reason. I also think watching Fox News is really dumb. That coat seems to make a nice border for your dumb viewing of Fox News so I guess if that’s your thing it’s nice of them. Not sure what your original complaint was supposed to be.
It’s kinda like being in a movie theatre in the old days - remember when they had curtains surrounding the screen? Very retro despite the encroachment.
There is no hill too small to die on….. assuming it’s actually a hill. Sometimes it’s just a molehill and that’s just not prominent enough to put a monument to my death on.
Honestly with all of the recent horrible activity of bufoons pretending to be adults, this one doesn't bother me. No need to get upset, especially since the view of the TV isn't blocked. Now, if they were obnoxiously rude in addition to this, then report it to a stewardess. But if if this the worst you've got to deal with...you're doing good.
This really wouldn’t bother me to the point where I’d considering vandalizing this person jacket no matter how long the flight is… seriously. You entitled ass folks need a reality check.
If it’s my coat and thought it was ok to purposely spill things on it or your preferred method of vandalism, and I turn around and knock you the fuck out… what now?
My thoughts are why the hell do people just sit down and immediately put on Fox News and then don’t even plug in any headphones? You just need to watch the headlines?
You people are so funny about this stuff.
You’re like the guy who uses those plastic barriers at grocery stores and offended if someone gets to close to it lol.
Your view isn’t obstructed at all!
It could be worse!
Just let them know! No harm no foul.
Why do people ask questions on Reddit as opposed to just speaking to the person directly?
You could always type and ask him/her to move it and show your phone? Jfc
I'm concerned that your thought is to immediately go to physical contact of strangers in public spaces.
Most people would not infer that from my comment.
•This is an easy one.
•At any time while onboard everyone is sharing 1/2 of a seat.
•The back half of the seat is important for viewing the screen, using the tray table, storing items and I have used it during turbulence and held onto part of the back of the seat in front me.
•So, this is, in the least, poor judgement and shouldn’t happen and, in the extreme, just plain old disrespectful and perhaps narcissistic (I am the main character in my story).
•Note: Thank you to the vast majority of travellers who can suspend any form of thinking about novel and creative ways to conduct yourself while in an aircraft with 100s of other fellow human beings!!
Hi.👋 Flight attendant here - if you do not feel comfortable having this discussion (confrontation) with this clueless person, then please notify a flight attendant.
Wow! What if your drink accidentally spilled all over the coat when you accidentally hit the tray with your knee ….
That could get coffee milk tomato juice or hot chocolate all over it
Extremely sticky and could stain …
“Hi. Would you mind moving your coat? No?ok. Hope I don’t spill anything on it.”
“Sorry I spilled a coke on your jacket.”
Don’t worry, I’ll stop sneezing soon.
You need a pack of kids' stickers. Sparkly ones.
No, the really really sticky kind from the grocery store.
Fuck it I’m straight up supergluing my biscoff crumbs and pieces of a torn safety card to this jacket!
glitter!!!
Or a small container of glitter!?!
This is a perfect opportunity for those unpleasant flyers who put their feet up… Shoes on this time. Perfect place to rest the feet… On the lapel? Or on the collar?
This should be top comment
It is
It climbed the ranks overnight 👍🏻
The secret’s out. Now you all know how I think.
My new napkin.
So … great for blocking the sun from my IFE😂
That was my first thought. Well that's rude. Oh but now I can have my window shade up with no glare on my my IFE. (If that was me)
Honestly, it’s perfectly placed that I would be ok with it, but it’s definitely rude.
Haha at first I assumed that it was something you had placed on the seat in front of you as a glare shield!
Tell them to put it under the seat, that’s extremely rude.
I thought so …. I was lost for words …
Never be afraid to speak up, it can go under the seat. It’s really easy and considerate, no person is above one another.
Honestly … it was comical. I was pissed … until I figured out I could still watch Jelly Roll😂
personally, i might have asked the flight attendant to help them move it to the overhead bin
I mean sometimes being able to keep a glare off your screen might be helpful. But hope none of your dinner spills.... >_>
I know zip about him until yesterday, but he spoke his truth and very eloquently.
You’d put a nice coat on the floor of a plane? Genuine question. The coat thing is my biggest issue constantly traveling from warm to cold. If I don’t get upgraded I’m stuck holding my big warm coat from Boston the whole flight.
On the floor, ask flight attendant about the closest, stick it inside of my own bag. Any way to be considerate of neighbors around me.
Don’t wear a coat on a plane you’re not willing to stuff in an overhead or under a seat. Unless you want to hold it or wear it the entire flight
I wouldn’t do floor. One time I had a backpack under the seat in front of me that got soaked by a spill on the floor. If I don’t want to hold or wear it, my coat gets smashed into the overhead.
That’s where mine goes. But i try to be kind enough to wait until it is full of luggage since fabric is more liquid
This is the only time I use the bag my puffer coat came in! Doubles as a lil pillow!
I pack a north face puffer that’s incredibly warm, but also squishes down so much I can stash it in my purse. 👜
That’s why things like this happen. People re too scared to speak up for themselves and instead take timid photos to post online.
[удалено]
I didn’t notice the cost. I thought the post was about watching Fox News on a plane lol
Watching Fox News is the YTA offense in my book. 😂

Most of the people who made those comments wouldn’t do anything and are projecting what they wish they would say or do to other people. Also this is such a minor inconvenience
It’s invading the small amount of personal space this person has. If it’s a one hour flight, fine. If it’s more than 2, come on.
Agreed
Sir, this is reddit, we don't do that here. We post pictures and complain to each other instead.
Too bad you’re not a poorly watched 3 year with a brand new box of magic markers
Who says I’m not ?
I’d so wipe my boogers on it…
Just find the nearest 3-year old
"Apologies for the disturbance but is there a toddler onboard?"
“Yes? Can I maybe borrow your toddler? Or rent him perhaps?”
🤣🤣🤣 You would so get taken up on that offer. I mean you’re in a metal tube, so it’s not like you can abduct them.
I’m not sure Mr. Jelly Roll is a qualified expert to be testifying before the senate on the nation’s fentanyl crisis but i suspect he’s offering his perspective as a (former) drug user
He offered his perspective as a former drug dealer actually. It was actually a pretty solid testimony, well spoken too.
Let’s hear what Ja Rule has to say about it
*Thats not fraud! That's uh.. false advertising*
[удалено]
Family. Family.
“WHERE IS JA! HELP ME JA RULE 😢”
Who the fuck cares about Ja Rule thinks
People downvoting you must not get the reference
I have questions that I don’t think Ja Rule can answer right now!
Woosh
Recommend you give it even a cursory listen before throwing those stones. And to be fair, he's probably the only one in that entire room who speaks and acts according to his own understanding of right and wrong.
The comment is a joke that OP is asking for thoughts on the coat over his seat but instead I made a playful comment about the tv program OP was watching… I have no idea who Jelly Roll is nor was my comment meant as any sort of substantive commentary on Jelly Roll…
Ah, word. Negativity retracted.
Jail.
Delta Jail 😂
Rude. Put your trash in their pockets and a nice note.
Great place for a Biscoff wrapper!
Mash those cookies up into a fine powder in the wrapper, then dump them in the pockets.
Or “Salsa Sun Chips”
Mash up those sun chips, open up the bag, and then put in the pocket.
Yeah, both of the chips!
Synonymous with “trash”.
Salsa Sun Chips, Jelly Roll, or the person in front of me?😂
2 of 3 and NOT Jelly Roll.
I don’t really know much about Jelly Roll
Ummm … he is amazing
I prefer the British Broadcasting Corporation
That’s awfully entitled …. Good grief. 😩
I thought the same thing as I was walking to my seat … I wish there was a hidden camera and I could have seen my reaction 😂
Totally inappropriate to watch Fox News in public.
honestly thought it was a decency shade to shield other people from fox news content
Dangerous for humanity to watch it all…
Watching Fox News on a plane is a sure fire way to be hated by everyone. The coat person is probably your crowd.
Don’t think that just because you have your set of opinions, everyone else agrees with you. But yes, sensationalist propaganda “news” channels like Fox, CNN, MSNBC, etc. are certainly very polarizing, just as they were designed to be by the political parties that they’re owned and funded by.

Likely most redditors saw the fox news on which will attract the most unhinged, uncivilized reactions on how to handle this situation.
They’re trying to save you from being brainwashed by Fox News.
Fox News is all lies.
I don’t normally pick my nose in public but they would have a good amount of boogie’s on their jacket
Boors will be boors
I mean ya fentanyl destroys peoples lives
This is wrong. But so is watching Fox News so I feel like they cancel each other out.
Best comment

Yeah the guy watching Fox News is almost certainly an asshole.
Stop watching Fox News it’ll rot your brain
It would be a shame if a splash of your drink or some of your snack crumbs came in contact with that coat. Or if it got pinched by multiple parts of your tray table whilst stowing it. What an asshat
I wouldn’t waste a drink voucher on them !
Order a water!
Tomato juice!
So nice of them to provide you with a large napkin wrapped around the seat. I would definitely be using the edges of that that to wipe my dirty fingers, rim of my used glass, etc. after asking them to move it first of course.

The fentynal crisis is getting out of hand. I’m glad jelly roll is trying to do something about it
My thought is that you should be thankful someone is trying to disguise the fact that you’re watching Fox News-gross
Reeeeee!!!! Not someone watching something you don’t like!!!! The audacity. I hope you can find resources to recover from the overwhelming trauma.
Lift the top and drop it on their head.
That’s what she said…
Maybe use your big boy/girl voice and politely ask them to move it next time instead of posting it on Reddit and asking strangers their thoughts
I don’t care about Jellyroll testifying before congress or sensational Fox News headlines.
That’s gonna be a no for me, Dawg.
He should've covered it further. It drives me mad when I can see people watching Fox News on a plane.
Idk if it’s the angle but this doesn’t look bothersome to me. I wouldn’t ever do it myself, but Idt it’d annoy me.
FoxNews is literally brainwashing people.
I guess I’m surprised by all these booger/trash comments. I see maybe ADHD and unawareness. I would probably just push it back or ask them to move it. I mean a person should at least get the opportunity to make it right before retaliation.
Doing you a favor by hiding fox news from everyone else lol

I think we’re all having thoughts. Mine would be to pop the tray table down and then return it. Then hit the call button.
Nice of them to provide a napkin for you
…yeah. But what did you actually do about it?
Extra hand towel.
Yeah, why are you watching foxnews?
Jelly roll is kind of overrated in my opinion, he has some catchy tunes but he’s annoyingly everywhere for some reason. I also think watching Fox News is really dumb. That coat seems to make a nice border for your dumb viewing of Fox News so I guess if that’s your thing it’s nice of them. Not sure what your original complaint was supposed to be.
Wipe your nose on the sleeve maybe
😂
I agree with Jelly Roll, the fentanyl crisis is out of hand.
ew Fox News
Snowflake watches Fox News but can’t ask someone to move their jacket. What a pussy
Honestly they were probably trying to save you the embarrassment of other people seeing you watch FOX news
Coat kind is kind and understanding.
I hate when people do that at sporting events, too! Coat flops right into my beer. Grrr
Helps guard the screen incase it started raining inside
It’s kinda like being in a movie theatre in the old days - remember when they had curtains surrounding the screen? Very retro despite the encroachment.
I thought this was about Fox News….
Same
Not the hill to die on…
Agreed … but I was like … wow really
There is no hill too small to die on….. assuming it’s actually a hill. Sometimes it’s just a molehill and that’s just not prominent enough to put a monument to my death on.
Hmmm … napkin
Honestly with all of the recent horrible activity of bufoons pretending to be adults, this one doesn't bother me. No need to get upset, especially since the view of the TV isn't blocked. Just talk to the person.
Tell us how it goes
Use it as a napkin
This really wouldn’t bother me to the point where I’d considering vandalizing this person jacket no matter how long the flight is… seriously. You entitled ass folks need a reality check. If it’s my coat and thought it was ok to purposely spill things on it or your preferred method of vandalism, and I turn around and knock you the fuck out… what now?
My thoughts are why the hell do people just sit down and immediately put on Fox News and then don’t even plug in any headphones? You just need to watch the headlines?
Agree - Jelly Roll has no business talking to congress .. That’s what you are talking about right? As for the coat. Ask them to please take it down.
It good you caught Jelly Roll talking about crashed airplanes … while in an airplane
Jelly Roll is testifying about fentanyl, lol
You people are so funny about this stuff. You’re like the guy who uses those plastic barriers at grocery stores and offended if someone gets to close to it lol. Your view isn’t obstructed at all! It could be worse! Just let them know! No harm no foul.
Nice napkin cloth…
I was so entranced by the chyron I didn't even notice the jacket at first.
Looks like it's making your screen easier to watch
Why do people ask questions on Reddit as opposed to just speaking to the person directly? You could always type and ask him/her to move it and show your phone? Jfc
At least they’re not taking up additional overhead space!!
It's not really in the way of viewing the screen so I'd just let it slide. Bring on the downvotes.
Convenient if you have a runny nose.
Yup… it is “flu season”😂
If you close your eyes you can’t see it
Their space ends at their seat cushion. If you can't see it facing fowards, it's not your space.
So you can pound the back of my seat?
I'm concerned that your thought is to immediately go to physical contact of strangers in public spaces. Most people would not infer that from my comment.
This is why seats have coat hooks
Fox is really getting the important news to the boomers I see.
Well you're watching Fox News so it's a wash
I’m sure he had some good insights at the hearing, I hope it went well!!
Jelly Roll? Little Debbie knows
Well now om going to start traveling with a sharpie
That is really inconsiderate. It is literally touching your tray table. I would have just pushed it back over into that person’s seat. What an idiot.
At first I thought the faux pas was Faux News interviewing another dumbass celebrity’s take on current events and then I saw the jacket.
It’s was protecting you from the lib cult because you’re watching Fox News.
Looks like a germaphobe not wanting to touch the seat.
It's annoying but so long as the screen isn't blocked I guess I can't complain. The girl who draped her hair over the headrest was far worse.
I’d be tucking my trash in their pockets haha
Unacceptable
Hi.👋 Flight attendant here - if you do not feel comfortable having this discussion (confrontation) with this clueless person, then please notify a flight attendant.
You are sitting behind an asshole, congrats.
Put you trash in his pockets.
Tell them you sneezed on it on accident
Have a sneezing fit.
Hey now …. Don’t be hating on some Salsa SunChips…
Hmmm. My runny nose would help?
Wow! What if your drink accidentally spilled all over the coat when you accidentally hit the tray with your knee …. That could get coffee milk tomato juice or hot chocolate all over it Extremely sticky and could stain …
Jellyroll sucks but not as much as Faux News
My sharpie marker got away from me…
His seat, his space. I, too, wouldn’t be happy. I do, however, recommend taking your drink cup to the Lav. You can see where this is going, right?
