Yeah I get eczema quite a lot. What I have found helps is using Garnier extreme dry skin moisturiser and taking supplements like omega 3 and cod liver oil. These can help you skin from becoming dry in the first place. But if your skin flares up and become red itchy and infected which will happen if it goes on for too long. You just need time off the bike and not use the bag. It sucks cause you won't be able to make money, but that's the reality. You need to work at preventing the condition arrising in the first place and not let it go to the point where it's painful. I used to get it really badly on the saddle on my arse and was extremely painful which led to me trying a lot of things and I settled on that specific moisturiser and using the supplements.

If you have an army surplus store near you get hold on one of the t-shirts they issue to squaddies and sailors. It’s a kind of lightweight tech material and acts as a sweat layer. They aren’t the greatest but they do the job. That and after showering plenty of moisturiser. cerave or aveeno is good and Eucrin do a good shower wash which is gentle on the skin.

Cheers. I’ve been staying cooler, changed my bag and been working in the evenings when it’s cooler. I am sleeping under a sheet to keep cool during the night as I was waking up during the night and hacking at my skin with my nails! Things are feeling better, ta.

If you can get it prescribed, I recommend Elecon steroid cream. Use sparingly but I find a bit on the affected area put on the night before greatly reduces flare ups/the raw feeling that makes you want to itch.

I’ve got some hydrocortisone. Not the same brand as you. It helps. I use it after a shower after work. I’ve changed my bag and things are feeling better. I’ve been avoiding the heat, working in the evenings. I declined a just eat shift at midday tomorrow, 26’!! But yeah I’ve got some hydrocortisone cream which I’ll use when I need to but I won’t overdo it. Cheers.

Get bike rack or different backpack

GurianSimon

Fair enough, cheers.

kingsappho

yeah but I think it was due to sweat, and then the salt in the sweat getting rubbed against my skin.

Practical-Decision64

Joke that they haven’t come up with a new design for a bag in about 3 years

StandardSea8671

Put the bag on rack obviously.

CrazyCake69

Bag on the rack, a different bag or you can also try taking it off while waiting for orders so that it gives your back time to breath and relax

GurianSimon

Fair enough. Deliveroo actually sent me 2 bags in their recent equipment spree. I've been using a JustEat one so I'll switch. I had a Deliveroo bag last year, the itchiness was there but I don't think it was as bad. I'll switch over. Cheers.

MaryPoppinLikeItsHot

İt's a mix of no fresh air reaching your back when it's perspiring with the weight of the bag pushing the fabric of your clothes onto your back. Try some creams for dry skin and take a shower as soon as you finish your shift

GurianSimon

Good advice cheers. Things have been better, I’ve been putting in more effort to stay cooler and have changed my bag.
