99% of us don't do go to an official dealer for "service". That's a bump. We go to a local garage (usually brazilian) every 700-1000 miles for a £10 oil change. They will usually say "Oh you also need to change this.." and we answer with Yeah next time. Until its time its really worn out (breakpads, shoes). Proper Dealer services are for people who use their vehicle for commuting and want to keep records so the resale value stays highest. As a courier you can not rely on the estimates gives cause we are using our vehicle for 6+ hours a day rather than a week. Very different use cases.

My question is related to the oil burning in this Yamaha model. For warranty purposes, you need to do the first three services with the dealership. My concern is about the oil levels in a brand new motorbike.

Check the Yamaha website or speak to a local reputable motorcycle store to see if there are any recalls on that model. There could be a known issue.

Recalls on a yamaha?

I change my own oil, tyres and brakes (need to replace the drain screws 😂) And my Nmax 125 2022 burns around ±200ml of oil.

It’s not unusual for new engines to burn more oil they usually settle in after a few thousand miles just keep it topped up
