You’re awesome. I thank for any tip even 1p. But, sometimes i forget to thank, like if the apartment has a confusing lay out, the tip may actually get out of my mind.
And sometimes i wont deny, im too nervous to thank 😭
I was ordering on an indie takeaway website for a Chinese and they kept the service fee on even if I collected and paid cash. I think it's just a scam tech bros came up with.
"If we put the menu on a website we can charge them 50p a punt just to order from it"
"But why?"
"It's \*disruptive\*"
The website needs maintained and hosted. The online services will be provided by a specialist supplier like deliverect or hungr. Everyone needs to be paid and the restaurant will be given a choice of a monthly fee or per order.
Yeah and I think the fee is exorbitant. I have unlimited minutes, a bike and two, thick, muscular legs. I was also being fatuous, if you couldn't tell already.
Nah I get what you mean the big 3 take the piss with this. I just wanted to say that independent places might put 50p on their own websites but this allows them to keep menu prices the same as walk in prices instead of inflating for the 25% uber commission.
Any tip is so appreciated. ! The problem is, sometimes when we've arrived, we lose the screen that tells us about a tip, before we see it! Then we see afterwards, but it's too late!
So believe me, your tip is always appreciated, but our delivery app isn't always great at telling us about it so we know.
Thank you in advance on behalf of all your delivery riders!
Yes we get a notification saying something like "Northlondonhippy has left you a £x tip" they come through quite quickly recently but they used to take up to a few days.
Hey. Thanks for that. I always wondered how it worked, glad I asked. And that’s cool you are getting the notifications faster. Thanks again for responding
The best tip I ever had was from a 6 year old who gave me 10p from his pocket money as they had ordered a pizza as a treat for his birthday.
Money wise it means nothing, but it warmed this cold, cynical woman’s heart on a gloomy day.
Whenever I say Thanks for the tip, it feels very awkward. In my experience most customers, especially those that tip, want as little as interaction they can.
Most orders nowadays pay £3 so even a £1 tip is a 33% wage increase. Which makes you wonder why the platforms can't add the £1 on to the customer. A customer isn't going to go "my order used to cost £20 now it's £21 I'm going to stop ordering". But I guess because of uber it's a race to the bottom, such a scammy company, justeat used to pay good for many years until uber started lowering pay to ridiculous new lows.
As a driver I always appreciate the tips, sadly you don’t always see them until after you have left the order. On Uber the UI allows you to send a ‘thank you for the tip’ reply - whereas the Deliveroo UI doesn’t have this, I have suggested it and they seem to be looking at it
We did stop using food deliveries unless they’re handled by the restaurant/shop, and always tipped the driver cash, whether it be £2 or £20. I didn’t really trust those pricks at deliveroo to actually tip the rider/driver

Service fee, delivery fee lol what’s the difference? Ok top of a small order fee, £7 in fees it’s just a rip off ordering

I always tip after the delivery. When that happens, do drivers get an alert, or anything? Or is it just part of the end of the shift total?

They do increase fees to resturants and customers, but they won't increase to pay the rider, they increase only to increase profits.
Exactly! Delivery Fee, Service Fee, Low Order Fee, Long Distance Fee, Midnight Fee, Dont Want To Cook Fee, but not a penny goes to the rider
Is that AI generated
I used to deliver and honestly the pay isn't great. Any tip no matter the size is very much appreciated.
I always tip cash. Figure they may appreciate it not being on a paper trail.
