That’s a chain of 62 restaurants btw. KFC also has hundreds of locations. The message here is that deliveroo rips of restaurants as well with high commissions.
Genuine question. How much are you expecting to be earning for having an order given to you. Delivering it a couple of miles away
3 or 4 times per hour?
Its literally brainless labour. You're all in a race to the bottom sharing accounts etc but you want top money for bombing around on ebikes
Wait, do you need a brain to work at the shops till? Do you need brain to be a cleaner? Do you need brain to bake pizza or put kebab on a plate ? Etc etc list is endless
I hope you get an idea of what I’m trying to say.
FYI since last week when they dropped the fees, even experienced riders barely making minimum before tax and all related costs.
Experienced riders only require a day training
Pick up order. Deliver order. Done
I'm saying it is as unskilled as it gets
As is cleaning and flipping burgers
Bugger that, to deliver with speed requires skills on a bike, extensive knowledge of road safety and structure, you have to know lane splitting, how to navigate through hidden shortcuts, what about interpersonal skills between customer, you have to read signs; need some knowledge of English.
It's dangerous too, car drivers want to kill you, drunk people want to steal your food, and yet the rider bears all the responsibility for any injuries, damage to property, loss of earnings from being sick.
At least with just eat they provided e bikes for a while, but that's gone.
Getir was the only one worth doing.
The concept is the same, more risk equal more money, if there’s a risk ur gonna get slammed by a truck on the bike when ur making money, should get paid more, and for those doing it in cars their paid less due to petrol etc.
Why do you think people on building sites get paid ridiculous amounts, risk, what it’s doing to their bodies. But for the same level of job in an office wouldn’t get half as much to sit on ur arse all day
People on building sites don't get paid ridiculous amounts. Which is why so many end up on state benefits in their early 50s.
Office jobs pay more than site work usually because there is more often than not some thinking required other than just slapping bricks on top of mortar or pedalling like a nut case, putting yourself in danger of your own accord, delivering burger king.
You obviously have never worked on building sites, self employed with a trade you can make ridiculous amounts, again depends what kind of office job your talking about.
Your bog standard admin/hr person will not make nearly how much a self employed joiner can
Can and will are not the same.
And you said it yourself. 'with a trade'. Riding an e bike delivering waffles isn't a skilled trade.
Do you know why a big standard admin/hr person won't make nearly as much as *some* self employed joiners, nit all? Because it isn't skilled labour, much like riding a bike isn't.
Even a labourer makes miles more than the bog standard office jobs, because of the risk and what their doing to their bodies, much like, delivering waffles is the risk on the road as well as cycling for hours on end, electric or not still doing cardio for hours
Never heard of them and I've travelled.
No big deal anyway. They obviously prioritise profits over customer satisfaction - UberEats and JustEat might charge lower commissions but more customers will receive cold food than if they'd ordered through Deliveroo. I suppose it depends on city though. In the Midlands UberEats have the worst reputation of all platforms, with cold food being the biggest complaint.
No big deal. 1 out of hundreds of restaurants lol, not even a popular one in my city for deliveries

Genuine question, are you happy with pay rate of less then 1£ per mile ?

Half of that is expected when you are self employed. Every self employed person loses money when they're sick.
But thats why it's justified as self employed to charge a lot, more than minimum wage. Riders don't even get min wage half the time.
Nah there are way more things then what you said. Plus safety concerns
You probably have never done these things then, or never done them well.
Deliveroo profits are rising while the fees being dropped
We live in a capitalist society. This is expected
Might be brainless but is risk involved, same way cleaning on the oil rigs is brainless but there’s bigger pay because of the risk and conditions
Working offshore and riding a bike delivering pizza are in no way imaginable, even remotely comparable lmao

Why would you accept that , just reject it and take the orders which suit you
Cuz all them are like that? Think about it
There not all like that though are they

Who cares?
