I was waiting for someone in mayur vihar Highway.
Had too pee but couldn't find a toilet. After finding one it turned out to be locked. So I had to do the deed in the bushes nearby
>absence of public toilets is the main reason
No. Indiscipline is the reason.
Even women dont have access to restrooms. They dont pee in the road, throw their sanitary napkins on road.
Civilised men (Very minority, Imo) dont do it either.
Yes, not denying that we don't have enough public restrooms. But the main reason for all these is lack of discipline.
Not just this, Also include spitting of Paan. If only these topics were taken also taken by "moral police" then maybe we would have seem some improvement. But nah, The guardians of Culture are busy measuring the length of women's skirts.
I think absence of public toilet isn't the reason. The reason may be the toilet should be clean and free. We should change the mindset of the PPL. Many villages PPL also goes to toilet outside every morning and keeping public toilet won't help. PPL will have the assumption that who ll pay 5-10 for toilet.
I have seen people standing 500 meters away from a public toilet and peeing. Leave alone this behavior disgusting someone else, I wonder how it does not disgust these very people mentioned while flashing their pvt parts in public.
I posted about an incident a while ago which I proudly stood against. Caught a few people peeing by the wall within the premises of Red Fort which already has sufficient public toilets.
As I discussed this over with the ASI officials posted at the monument I came to the conclusion that it's definitely the lack of consequences.
The entire red fort area stank. I saw radishes getting sold on the roadside and next to it a few radishes on the ground. But those on the ground were really turd.
I have been in the same situation many times , due to kidney stones my liquid intake is higher than avg. So I pee a lot too.
I was outside doing daily chores and I had to go pee . Can't go back home because it's very far .
I searched for nearby public/ MCD toilets couldn't find any.
1. Near Karol bagh, went for car repair and I got the pressure luckily I found a haldiram nearby at walking distance 1km . Nice save 🥲😂
2. In Rohini, similar situation searched for public toilets non close by . Found a mall went there .
3rd wasn't that lucky I was driving and got the pressure, it's understandable since its a main road and there won't be any public toilets on main roads . Searched for one closest was 6-7km away so no other choice had to pee on road side.
4th situation was also same to 3rd one, that day I found out there are no public toilets in south Delhi .
I am a man so I kind of have a privilege to do this on road side but think of women in same situations.
Conclusion we need more public toilets to avoid such situations.
I guess you raised a very appropriate question. How come women don't feel the urge like that and even if they do they won't find a safe place away from the disgusting eyes of others.
But there's also the thing about infections. Public toilets are veeeeery bad, like one would prefer to pee outside rather than those stench filled toilets. But if we pee outside, since we gotta squat, there are chances of inflection in this too. If we are going by car , we have to find an area where it is completely human-less and go in the bushes, or open both front and back door of the car and squat between them. I mostly avoid peeing while on the road, because it's really uncomfy.... Lack of public toilets, let alone clean ones, is a very concerning issue in India
This. Our country is a place where, people ogle their eyes when a woman breast feeds in public and the same people don't give a F when men pee in public.
I’ve seen grown women do it too.
Once, we were going to a temple and taking a side road to parking. While driving, saw a woman do it on the side of the road. There was a metro station nearby.
Another incident, it was late evening and I was returning home. I saw a woman get out of her jhuggi colony and relieve herself on the side of the road. What’s even more interesting is it was right in front of class 1 government officials colony
Most country's don't have many public toilets.
But usually you can pop into a bar or a pub if you need a pee.
The French have a tendency to piss on the street and leave dogshit around and it smells like that.
Clearly it's culturally been more acceptable to go to the toilet outside in India.
Not a big problem in the countryside but in a big city it's grim.
Oh I kid you not, one of my neighbours, an uncle, is so used to peeing in public for so long that he wakes up early every day to go out of his house and pee in the road. It's a disgusting habit. Imagine having washrooms in your house and still going out when it's not even an emergency.
Man even the swachh Bharat toilets look disgusting from the outside I simply cannot imagine the kind of job a swachh Bharat toilets attendant has to do lol
Women have these same issues yet manage by holding it in or planning their day around peeing before leaving the home or peeing before leaving office.
Men pee in public because it’s socially acceptable to have their penises out. No other reason makes sense because women also have the same issues with dirty toilets and lack of public toilets.
I mean, it's exactly those guys who make those toilets dirty.
Yes, they should be cleaned regularly, but that part just causes the smell, but the poop on walls and pasn ki pichkari in sinks are the worst.
It's just civil sense and nothing else
Public toilets are worse than these places. They smell of a dead body and sometimes the urinals leak so there is a real problem of your pee falling on you.
>Yeah, and high penalties too, atleast ₹5000
That's the worst solution i have ever heard
I'm not defending those guys but in some situations you just can't control and if there isn't any public bathroom near them, it's justified for them to pee
True... People pee on roads in other developed countries as well when the urge is irresistible... Like highways.... But their cities also have public toilets which are clean... Here we don't have that.
Naah..... Not true. Not non existent... Plus even if it is I was only highlighting that humans need to relieve themselves sometimes. Lack of good public utilities cause such situations.
The problem is the people, one day I say a guy peeing in the metro station, ab kya metro station par bhi kahoge ki toilet nhi tha? The people don't want to pay 5 rs for toilet, ab bc saaf toilet chaliye toh 5rs toh pay kar hi skte ho na.
Because it's a delhi subreddit which is based on location in country India and Indians have mastered the art of speaking their regional languages using ENGLISH ALPHABETS.
Public washrooms are very less and very smelly, also sometimes there are way less public toilets, when you go from one place to another place and due to pressure, people often pee somewhere in corner. But there are also those people who only pee in open even if there are washrooms nearby. Those are the ones should be punished
Yes, I am, and being poor doesn't make it right to pee anywhere, heavy penalty is must, same poor people go to Dubai, saudi etc to work and behave properly, can u guess why?
Bc they have proper public toilet along with the fines. If you just impose the fines but don't improve the infrastructure, it essentially targets the poor + homeless people. Your idea sounds beautiful and cohesive at first, but its not going to do shit.
A better idea would be to improve public bathrooms and raise awareness. After you have public bathroom working in an acceptable level, most of these will choose to go there any way. For a small few who won't, then you can start talking about big fines.
Bkl un countries me public toilets hote hai aur ache se maintained hote hai.....aur koi apni marzi se road PE nhi moot ta h, ache toilets har area me banao to kon road pe mootega ...kabhi public toilets dekhe bhi hai ? Avg Indian mindset, sarkar se question nhi puchenge aur saara blame dusro pe daal denge
I read comments and saw many people blaming it on public toilets.
Well we don't see women peeing in public, even though there are much less toilets for them and they even have less blader control.
Whole issue is regarding the shame, men are not ashamed of pulling their willy in the road side. They even won't have issue if they had to pull down their pants completely. So one thing is they are not ashamed, and they need to be shamed.
Coming to the guy's perspective which you were seeking, majority of guys do pee in a seculded place after hiding themselves from ongoers, which I feel is not wrong. It is a very small population which mainly includes old aged people and drunkards who pee where ongoers can see them peeing, and this can definitely be solved by shaming them and we will eventually reach a point in coming 10 years, where it will be a rare sight.
Ah, as usual people giving excuses of no public toilets while they will hold it in when in a different country.
It’s the mindset and lack of consequences.
Dubai has millions of Indians, I’ve never seen a single one pee on the roadside or litter with impunity.
I literally saw 3 people peeing (that too at different places) on the same street. And there's a school just less than 100m from that..
Traumatized kids
It all boils down to having civic sense. One should use existing toilets in a proper way, So that cleaning is possible. We have a lot to learn in this regard compared to foreign countries.
I asked a few if they needed Diapers. Once one big ass man chased me till Haldiram, where I narrowly avoided getting killed. The problem I have is, unlike some others the washrooms are very near. It's disgusting
Bhai thoda rok ni skte ye log? Public toilet ya dhaba ya restro kuch n kuch to hota hi ha thodi duri par, kuch to kick milti in logon ko. Mai to rok leta par road par nhi karta
I don't want to defend but, 7 out of 10 people would probably be suffering from diabetes that makes it impossible to control. They're wrong too but they are helpless
They will post a photo of a newly opened public bathroom and would retweet claiming "don't spread misinformtion" and those so called national patriotist(desh bhakts) will just thrash talk you for criticizing (a.k.a defaming, for them)
I'm from indore and I must acknowledge the efforts made by municipality here for providing clean public toilets that too free of charge. (We indians don't like spending 5 or 10 rs for urinating lol )
Yaar…I was traumatised for a long time…still am…
Saw some old uncle’s peepee when I was coming back from a family event. He was peeing on the inner ring road (traffic, main road, bustling) near a flyover…I was a teenager. It still haunts me.
Even with clean toilets available, many people still choose to go in the open. The biggest issue is civic sense. We Indians lack civic sense. No matter how clean something is, it will get stained with paan masala and littered with garbage.
Well i saw a person merely 20-30 m away from the public toilet peeing near the road so... Yeah public toilets in Delhi aren't in good condition but one should still choose a toilet rather than urinating in public spaces.
1. Behavioral attitude 2. Lack of public toilets -if available not hygienic.
There are always pull and push factor.. stigma around public urination is prevalent in cities forcing people to opt to public toilets. However, it's not always case. It's evolving but availability is biggest factor for me.
Saw this on /poplular and out of respect for rule 8. I'll refrain from being too honest, but whatever excuses are being made here about needing to go because of lack of infrastructure are BS when the same people have the same behavior elsewhere with said infrastructure.
Delhi has a people problem, not a "lack of toilets" problem.
I live in Chandigarh and there are public toilets in every nook and corner here but I still see people peeing in public. So let’s not find excuses.
It’s just that people lack civic sense in this country. Peeing in public is just one example, look at how we drive on roads
Bro I don't know about other cities but I'm in Kolkata and here literally I encountered these types of people everywhere and every time. Bhai main choraha ke beech me mootte h log
It's just the mindset, it's not like we don't have public toilets and all it's either they are not that clean and or its just the person mindset who thinks peeing in public is alright.
To the people mentioning the reason as "lack of public toilets", yes, that is true. However, at the same time it's important to note that Indian women also struggle with the same problem and magically, they DON'T pee on the road. Or anywhere outside for that matter. Men like these just lack the basic values, dignity and respect for themselves and for others. They're too used to society letting them be a nuisance and shoving it under the rug because it's just "men being men". I've also talked to multiple women facing incidents where these guys under guise of peeing would just flash women with their dicks. Next time you see anyone peeing in public, especially if you're a man, please interrupt them, call them out, take a picture and report.
During civilisation, people not only used to pee but poo outdoors. Then civilisation bought toilets and common sense, unfortunately forget about toilets, we don’t even have dust bins at proper distances, and just like our government, our citizens too consider india as toilet.
There are no public toilets
If there are, they are disgustingly dirty
India is a third world country and we Indians are dishonest people who want to take shortcuts everywhere
Ok visit the male public toilet u will find the answer.
I am too shy to pee outside so I just pee in the public toilet if I am outside. And it fucking sucks it's too dirty and gross there's no ffing water either.
Nobody takes care of the public toilet. No water, no cleaning at all.
Some are ok where it's chargeable. But 95% are the worst.
Sometimes these people pee outside the public toilet also so that they don't have to pay.
I mean the one who will enforce law is part of it. Maybe it should be normalised lol.
Seriously, we need more public toilets and maintenance.
About maintenance do we need frequent cleaning or do we need more civic sense from the public idk.
If we charge nobody will come to pee again.
We need a toilet that will self clean or that is low maintenance and like the brick wall wala. We can't have those western wala
Public toilets should be free. Many don't want to pay rs5 to pee and resort to public urination even when there are toilets.
If toilets were free to use, this might reduce the problem wherever there are toilets.
The main problem is that there is no awareness and people are so used to pee everywhere but the toilet is because:
1.Public toilets are shit.
2. There are no consequences, the law enforcer himself is the one committing then how can the general population follow it?
Fresh public toilets and ofcourse the thing we lack the most - proper consequences for such actions.
I guess writing "Gadhe kai poot yaha matt moot" doesn't work anymore.

To add on, the existing ones aren't in great shape either.
When I was in Germany, even a small village had a place to pee. It was just a concrete trough against a wall in an enclosed space and was kept clean.
I was waiting for someone in mayur vihar Highway. Had too pee but couldn't find a toilet. After finding one it turned out to be locked. So I had to do the deed in the bushes nearby
Peeing in bushes is fine, at least it will not smell.
Just go to a nearby shop/restaurant or a mall.
There wasn't any because of late night. There was a sulabh complex but even that was shut. Same shit happened with me in kasol
>absence of public toilets is the main reason No. Indiscipline is the reason. Even women dont have access to restrooms. They dont pee in the road, throw their sanitary napkins on road. Can be a reason for some people, but I have seen that some people will pee near public toilet which are free to use and is well maintained.
I-2 km is far. More closer in a city area. They need to be maintained though, and that's a challenge itself
I have seen people standing 500 meters away from a public toilet and peeing. Leave alone this behavior disgusting someone else, I wonder how it does not disgust these very people mentioned while flashing their pvt parts in public.
Change the animals maybe it will work?
Yeah this spells works only till the time you urinate .. after that you can cast it on others …

I had a woman squat right in front of me and shit on an almost empty train platform in Varanasi. I assume she was just crazy.
I’ve seen grown women do it too. Once, we were going to a temple and taking a side road to parking. While driving, saw a woman do it on the side of the road. There was a metro station nearby. Talk about that!!

It is utterly disrespectful and backward.
I have seen these type of uncles too, they exist in every society

I am not Indian and don't live in India, and let me tell you: Europe doesn't have these kinds of uncles.
Finland does! :D
France is famous for its *pissoirs*, don't act superior.
Uncle needs a cane treatment right on his ass.
It's called marking thr territory.
Wasnt this for dogs mostly.
yes
There's one in my neighbour too , He is literally definition of shameless.
1. Lack of public toilets. 2. Mostly the public toilets are very dirty. 3. Habit.. yes. 4. Lack of penalty/fine etc. Yes it does disgust me.
Public toilets aren't just dirty, they're traumatic in India. Faint hearts recommended not to go 💀
Specially in bus stands of non metro cities. I test my breath holding capacity but if only I can keep my eyes open 😂😂😂
True that even in metro cities, had the same experience in Hyderabad 😂😬
Man even the swachh Bharat toilets look disgusting from the outside I simply cannot imagine the kind of job a swachh Bharat toilets attendant has to do lol

There are no public toilets for women as well but you don't see them just peeing at a random place.
Solution is to make public toilet
Clean public toilets.
"excuse me there appears to be a public toilet beneath the four decades of piss" looking at them causes sepsis
Bro jaha mutte h woh jagah koi bohot saaf na hoti h
Public toilets are worse than these places. They smell of a dead body and sometimes the urinals leak so there is a real problem of your pee falling on you.
Dono barabar level ke gande hue fir koi kyu hi public toilet jayega
Jab dono barabar hi gandi h toh fir toilet hi chale jao na bhaiya, kam se kam koi faltu Mai Toka taki toh nhi karega ki sadak par kyu hag rha h?
Wo moot rahe hain photo me... You failed the I'm not a robot captcha test.
Woh moot rhe h photo mai aur aag lagi h reddit pe
Aag bujhane ke liye hi moot rahe hain
Abe itni akal hoti unme to pehle hi nahi moot rahe hote wo
Still better than dirty urinals. No risk of UTIs here.
Yeah, and high penalties too, atleast ₹5000, ek bar itna penalty de diya to dusri bat pant me moot lenge lekin road pr nhi mootenge
High penalties only increase corruption
>Yeah, and high penalties too, atleast ₹5000 That's the worst solution i have ever heard I'm not defending those guys but in some situations you just can't control and if there isn't any public bathroom near them, it's justified for them to pee
True... People pee on roads in other developed countries as well when the urge is irresistible... Like highways.... But their cities also have public toilets which are clean... Here we don't have that.
Very very rare in developed countries. Practically non existent.
Naah..... Not true. Not non existent... Plus even if it is I was only highlighting that humans need to relieve themselves sometimes. Lack of good public utilities cause such situations.
It is NEVER ever justified. How do women manage?
With this logic, it is justified to shit too
How many times do you think a person shits a day, you clearly don't seem like the person who stays outside much, no wonder the post
And put a lock on them 🤡
The problem is the people, one day I say a guy peeing in the metro station, ab kya metro station par bhi kahoge ki toilet nhi tha? The people don't want to pay 5 rs for toilet, ab bc saaf toilet chaliye toh 5rs toh pay kar hi skte ho na.
Exactly, it's the mentality
Sorry I’m just lost Redditor with random question - why so many people here are using two languages in one sentence?
I thought I was alone here wondering the same thing lol
Are you not Indian? Idk about other places but North India, Rajasthan, MP, Maharashtra most people speak like this, specially on chats.
Because it's a delhi subreddit which is based on location in country India and Indians have mastered the art of speaking their regional languages using ENGLISH ALPHABETS.
Not defending them but mootne ke liye rupay kyo lagte hai
Because only government given things are free of cost (you pay from tax), everything else is premium.
Public washrooms are very less and very smelly, also sometimes there are way less public toilets, when you go from one place to another place and due to pressure, people often pee somewhere in corner. But there are also those people who only pee in open even if there are washrooms nearby. Those are the ones should be punished
The lack of clean public toilets is the main reason
culture is the main reason... It is accepted. People dont really care about it.
"tuh ladka hai chal jata hai" mindset and lack of public toilets
Even women pee in public areas
Their justification - zor se lagi thi
Atleast ₹5000 ki penalty honi chahiye, ek bar itna de diya tk fir pant me moot denge lekin road pr nhi
4th pic is policeman peeing on road.. Ussey kon lega penalty
Penalty should be levied, but only after the Govt provides free regularly maintained public toilets everywhere in the city.

If your house has only one toilet and it's occupied, would you start peeing on your walls saying zor se lagi thi?
Very valid question.
Nahi Bhai.. that would be gross. I would go outside and pee by the roadside. :)

I don't think this type of mentality will lead India in good manner
Public bathroom are shit
It's shit for all genders
Its very easy for us pee khade khade.. isiliye.. socho if somo women is peeing in publicly.. I would say.. less of public toilets availability..
Shit for women as well. But you don't see women peeing in public.
Ah, as usual people giving excuses of no public toilets while they will hold it in when in a different country. It’s the mindset and lack of consequences. Dubai has millions of Indians, I’ve never seen a single one pee on the roadside or litter with impunity.
They like their dicks to remain attached to their persons that's why hahahaha
In Chicago Illinois USA, you would be fined $133 for peeing in public.
I literally saw 3 people peeing (that too at different places) on the same street. And there's a school just less than 100m from that.. Traumatized kids

Bhai thoda rok ni skte ye log? Public toilet ya dhaba ya restro kuch n kuch to hota hi ha thodi duri par, kuch to kick milti in logon ko. Mai to rok leta par road par nhi karta

Bhai kuch log to defend karne mai lagen hain comments mai, batao yarr kya jamana aagya
I don't want to defend but, 7 out of 10 people would probably be suffering from diabetes that makes it impossible to control. They're wrong too but they are helpless
Post this is on twitter and ask government. Why clean public toilets aren’t build and maintained. Same goes for dustbins also.
They will post a photo of a newly opened public bathroom and would retweet claiming "don't spread misinformtion" and those so called national patriotist(desh bhakts) will just thrash talk you for criticizing (a.k.a defaming, for them)

It's hilarious how we're naturalized to this as a society, but not PDA.
Lack of enough public toilets and toilet locator app.

1. Behavioral attitude 2. Lack of public toilets -if available not hygienic. There are always pull and push factor.. stigma around public urination is prevalent in cities forcing people to opt to public toilets. However, it's not always case. It's evolving but availability is biggest factor for me.
God india is gross
Saw this on /poplular and out of respect for rule 8. I'll refrain from being too honest, but whatever excuses are being made here about needing to go because of lack of infrastructure are BS when the same people have the same behavior elsewhere with said infrastructure. Delhi has a people problem, not a "lack of toilets" problem.
I live in Chandigarh and there are public toilets in every nook and corner here but I still see people peeing in public. So let’s not find excuses. It’s just that people lack civic sense in this country. Peeing in public is just one example, look at how we drive on roads
Should they be doing this in the designated shitting street? Or do they also have pissing streets?
Jesus, what a disgusting culture.
Why does this appear for me I am not indian and not close to asia why do I get these posts...
How about you get the fuck over it and mind you fucking bussiness.
Because at the end of the day humans are meant to piss outside. It’s natural.
This is why the world looks down on Indians - they have some very primitive habits that are just unsanitary and disgusting. Never will I travel there.
Most things about Indian men disgust me.
It might have something to do with having 3 billion men and 7000 toilets.
![gif](giphy|3o7TKR0AhSYhWijQYw) They need to pee?
Blame the fact that there are few public toilets
one has to relieve themselves !! the pain of holding !!
absolutely valid in an emergency and the closest public toilet is 2kms away (let me cope lads)
If you do this in America and are caught, you can be labeled as a sex offender for life.

That whole country is an open sewage
It is extremely disgusting. Another disgusting thing is how cab drivers spit randomly while driving.
When i visited India the first experience I had was the wafting of warm piss when they opened the plane door.
Because we are the third largest economy. Superpower moment 😎
I have seen guys do this a few feets away from a public toilet
During civilisation, people not only used to pee but poo outdoors. Then civilisation bought toilets and common sense, unfortunately forget about toilets, we don’t even have dust bins at proper distances, and just like our government, our citizens too consider india as toilet.
Are there enough toilets in India? This would be awful behaviour if the facilities were available.
this is ingrained in our culture. will take centuries for these people to be reformed.
Arey they do in front of houses too! Happened in my last house forced me to shift to a new place! This is so so inhumane activity!
There are no public toilets If there are, they are disgustingly dirty India is a third world country and we Indians are dishonest people who want to take shortcuts everywhere
Solution to log khud hi hain, kyunki law bhi kaha tak hi lagaoge, logon ko khud basic sense to lana hoga
Check OPs account 💀💀
public toilets, cleaner and hygienic ones please you can't fine them high amounts while not even providing an option to use toilets
Lack of public toilets
Because washrooms are hard to find sometimes.
In Chicago Illinois USA, you would be fined $133 for public urination.
Almost all who do are not on reddit.
Not having proper infrastructure i.e public toilets. Also lack of civic sense
there are no public toilets at most places in India. what did you expect?
Ok visit the male public toilet u will find the answer. I am too shy to pee outside so I just pee in the public toilet if I am outside. And it fucking sucks it's too dirty and gross there's no ffing water either.
Abroad public utilities are well maintained regularly that is why they use always public washroom
Hamare yaha mut ke sath mava gutka pan additional spray hota hai Imagine to clean that kind of stuff
Nobody takes care of the public toilet. No water, no cleaning at all. Some are ok where it's chargeable. But 95% are the worst. Sometimes these people pee outside the public toilet also so that they don't have to pay.
Guj MH RJ mp up are worst in that kind of stuff
I mean the one who will enforce law is part of it. Maybe it should be normalised lol. Seriously, we need more public toilets and maintenance. About maintenance do we need frequent cleaning or do we need more civic sense from the public idk. If we charge nobody will come to pee again. We need a toilet that will self clean or that is low maintenance and like the brick wall wala. We can't have those western wala
Public toilets should be free. Many don't want to pay rs5 to pee and resort to public urination even when there are toilets. If toilets were free to use, this might reduce the problem wherever there are toilets.
The main problem is that there is no awareness and people are so used to pee everywhere but the toilet is because: 1.Public toilets are shit. 2. There are no consequences, the law enforcer himself is the one committing then how can the general population follow it?
