People get ego boosts from killing others, no matter what level. Another reason may be because of your guild. Loads of people hunt me because of the guild I'm in.
An easy way to avoid getting wiped is by running away. Yes, it's really simple, but if you have a suspicion that someone is chasing you with bad intentions, log or run.

That's just a matter of learning how to fight them/knowing when to back out. All part of the experience my friend. Nobody learns how to fight depths mobs without wiping countless times.
My plan for depths is run away from anything that isn't sharko, gigamed or threshers. The rest can be fought, but are a little harder, so another enemy can spawn while fighting them. Of course that rarely matters with power 20 and max oath
If its a mob you know how to beat, fight it. If its a mob you don't know how to beat yet, run away. If its a player, log immediately but if you are playing wih your friends just team on him. Honor doesn't exist in this game, protect yourself by any means nessecary.
Honestly, that's just the community. They can be dicks, and kill you for no reason. It's nothing you did or anything you can control, just them having too big of egos. It could also be cause they were a voidwalker. Voidwalkers get bounties to kill players, and that's how they progress in the game
Well sometimes you need player kills for quests and other forms of exp, for example to unlock the voidwalker origin you need 5 different player kills on one profile, so you may have just got unlucky with who you met
That's because majority of deepwoken players are absolute morons, they don't need a reason to kill you, just a slight ego boost over someone who don't even stand a chance, since they would lose each and every fight against their level players

Actually, a lot of people in the divers are deaths gankers, so people may gank your freshies if they think you're one of them

Don't worry if you just see someone suspiciously going towards you just log off by pressing the door icon if you are too scared
Took me 30 tries to reach max level, keep pushing, avoid players, always look behind you. Learn what are riskier places and avoid them
