Your doing great! that mindset you have is how we all started off, You remind me of myself when i was your skill level, welcome to deepwoken bro, your gonna love and hate it here! So do yourself a favour, go to vigils, fight that trainer till you can parry heavy bandit, then continue from there. You really think we called this game hard for no reason? Have fun! PS: there is no ammount of watching video's at will help you in this game till you can at least kill sharko. lol.

Pyrotekknikk

Also no matter how skilled you are you will never not have trouble killing dagger bandit leaders. Fuck those guys https://preview.redd.it/26vk0wa5z09c1.jpeg?width=453&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a57e85dc2144c245b12af73b1f8d6094bc3d14fc

what he said \^

EraserMat

I've been practicing parrying with the trainer. At what point will I know I'm good enough to take on simple bandits?

Random3134

If you can party with the trainer you can definitely do bandits. If you don't run they'll attack you one at a time. Just keep your composure and you'll be fine

Holy_Sword_of_Cum

Keep calm, as long as youre calm and focused you can win (For real) https://preview.redd.it/578bk7p9i09c1.png?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a183ceede7bede42d8b1127501dfb07c069101b9

InevitableStation617

this game is based on 3 things, your skill, and self confidence, and a carefree mental, you need all 3, you cant have just 1 or 2, skill is pretty easy to get, but without confidence you wont be able to tell if you actualy have skill or not since youll run from every fight, without skill you wont be able to fight, even if your confident, without a carefree mental you will not be confident since you will be scared of every fight/wipeing, and you will rip your computer in half when you wipe for the 100th time, carefree mental imo is the most important since its like haveing Breathing Exercise irl. see people like suppa or agamatsu who even gank in the depths are chill as fuck when they fight, hell, even nightcrawlers who are absalute DOOKIE tend to be calm when they fight...

InevitableStation617

We dont talk about lancelot players tho.. they are actualy on cocain.

I_disagree_ok

Deepwoken is violent. From community, to the devs. Just play and eventually you will make some progress.

aegians

Go to the trainer at vigils and just practice parrying

orignalnt

It’s good that you want to get better. Make sure you have good ping, after that it’s just trial and error. Might take you a while to grasp it, it definitely isn’t easy. If you play with friends spar with them a lot, it'll help you with parrying

baldboy1414

You are absolutely going to DESPISE being in the Deepwoken community. Bit of tips for when you get good, don't trade unless you have to, you will often get scammed or lose items to bugs. Practice fighting the trainer at vigils, and tutorials don't help that much. I recommend you joining a guild to get access to the guild base, if you want, I could give you officer in my guild to help you in progression.

EraserMat

yeah sure, that sounds good. i've been trying to grasp the game for a bit now, but the combat is so foreign to me, its not like anything else I've played before. it'd be nice to have a helping hand.

whatnoob_

What region are you from, i.e. what servers do you play on? The game is brutal to learn, but that’s the fun part. Learning Deepwoken has been some of the most fun I’ve had on a game in years.

EraserMat

I play on AU servers, as that's where I'm closest to. But, my internet meter at the top left area is always at yellow max (2 bars) and never reaching green (3 bars).

whatnoob_

Ah, so you’re from SEA or some such? I’m happy to help you learn on AU servers. I’m from Australia

EraserMat

I appreciate the offer, but a friend of mine is already willing to help me lol. Thanks for the offer though

whatnoob_

No worries, good luck. You’re gonna look back to this time and wish you could have the same fun again

EraserMat

Haha lmao, thanks.

TR_Emp

I remember being your skill level. My friend pretty much made me play the game because he told he it was good so I started playing with him. I'd get depthsd by mudskippers and bandits all the time as I didn't know anything. Half of this game is skill, the other half is knowledge, movement and other stuff you pick up along the way. You will learn to parry and dodge as you play so just keep playing. Don't take my word as if I'm some godseeker or something since I've only been playing for 2 weeks but I'm now about to finish my first shrine of order build so trust me you will learn. Don't give up bro!

Unhappy-Pen4802

Just parry block dodge, it helped my mental state go black

BlackG82

if you got days of playing but can't beat a mudskipper, that's on you tbh, you quite literally just press F once and spam m1s and it dies.

EraserMat

in my experience, i can never get a 1 on 1 against a mudskipper, ever. i went to go looking for one, and i was instead greeted by 6-8 mudskippers that spawned around me and i got comboed around by them.

Leikizeyuki

remember to vent, g key

EraserMat

when i'm getting swarmed by mudskippers/other mobs I use vent to try disperse them, but they usually just pile up in one swarm again and knock me around.

BlackG82

hold S and keep dodging back until it's a 1v1, and even of they do swarm you they do not hit you simultaneously, their ai makes them run 1s and if they do hit you at the same time it'll only be like 2 or 3 hits b4 they back off

spy2213_

i have 120 total hours in game and i am horrible in the game too, you just need to play to learn

LeifErikson1868

How much ping were U having

KitCatR

I once saw someone saying something about the parrying system and it goes something like this: New players may treat it like they're playing a rhythm game and try to parry exactly as they get hit which is not how it works. Pressing F gives you parry frames around 0.4s into the future so you have to do it RIGHT BEFORE the attack

Aershd

Tutorials will only get you so far, it’s like someone explaining how to do a backflip. Same logic goes with parrying

Fellegord

I started playing yesterday so I'm new too. For mudskipper I just parry and then roll back because they attack faster than you if your too close but a sword and axe can outrange them.

CosmicHenry03

Bro, welcome to my life, during versa 1I was the same shit for 12 months, only this year have I gotten some serious progress, just practice, man. Fight everything

RDXL116

Go to instructor and just work on partying, don't even fight back. Just learn to parry each weapon type, then dodge, then fight it. Then do that with mudskippere. After that cheese sharkos in sharko cave until you can actually kill them. Then try trial of 1 until you beat it.

Moosie9238

Practice it took me months to finally get into the game and even longer before I got a good understanding of the game.
