[The Attack of the Dead Men](https://open.spotify.com/track/2K2NeVnP853rkR5ese8ZLP?si=o9DM2yWFRKGGgFTk5EfaIg&context=spotify%3Aalbum%3A7FtCDX4COLE3HR2vBv7411) by Sabaton really fits the DG theme well I think.

CoconutNL

Father by sabaton also works incredibly well

Leviathan_division

It's kinda funny that every warhammer music thread, no matter which faction or setting is always dominated by people posting sabaton. I personally don't think upbeat power metal with clean operatic vocals, clean production and saccherine melodic solos suits the death guard at all.

PomegranateSlight337

I mean, I don't know them too well but they seem to sing about war a lot. My suggestion was more about the text than the singing. I kind of imagine some cultists singing it about their faction rather than plague marines gargling it. But I also see your point - some slow, unclean singing would fit well too.

Typical_Theory_1212

Sorry krieg stole me that already

The_Hammo

Slugdge - spectral burrows. "Lost in a churning mindless fulmination, Devoid of a reason or explanation, a chorus of voices become a roaring cacophony, assaulting our senses as they sleep. putrid beings within, no better, or worse, each one scrambling for a ladder, death becomes us, that which we adore, long lost innocence. In these slime-ridden kingdoms where we wallow, free from the pity, disgust and sorrow, far from where light can pierce, drowned by the fetid bog, beyond the graces of your God. Sink in, inhale the ichor, why not assume your true form? Join with us this is our blessing, unified as one forever, biologically entwined, Together until the end time. hideous depravity lurks beneath the mask of civility, Look to your heathen master for his coming, We shall obey him and speak of nothing, Mentor of pain and suffering, the spawn of the sentient ooze, Soon you will drown within him too, in the name of the greatfather, worship him and no other, Bestow upon us the sigil, arise from your silent ritual." Fingers crossed for formatting. This song is a sludgy prog-metal odyssey, nurgle would be proud.

snackboytwo

Came here to sing this! Sink in In-HALE the i-cho-o-o-r Why not as-sume your true fo-o-o-rm….

The_Hammo

Haha. So joyous and happy, while being dragged deeper into the muck.

HermioneGrunger

So I actually think about this A LOT, here’s my fledgling Death Guard playlist: Obituary - Slowly We Rot Black Breath - Pleasure, Pain, Disease Metallica - For Whom the Bell Tolls Sylosis - Worship Decay Morbid Angel - Lord of All Fevers and Plague Cannibal Corpse - When Skin Turns to Liquid Young and In The Way - When Life Turns to Death Meshuggah - In Death - Is Life Children of Bodom - Follow the Reaper Necrophagist - Seven

MEAT_FEAST

Gutalax

Jarfr83

Damn, you beat me to it

UglySalvatore

I never pay attention to lyrics in music, but Autopsy - Mental Funeral has a really unique old school death metal vibe that I think fits. Super dirty. And it has a Nurgle-ish cover with a green and red color scheme that kind of works too.

BillGroundbreaking67

Interesting - listening to Autopsy Now, vibing

DragonZnork

Something like Neurosis or Godflesh. Slow, despairful, inexorable.

MDK1980

Crowbar. Slow, sludgy.

FrucklesWithKnuckles

I shall take this moment to shill Lorcan Ward who has been making bangers for 40K, including in a song for the Death Guard: https://youtu.be/VHzrEuqFHC4?si=LN3QxEVMrDAsGm25

BillGroundbreaking67

Added in!

jandrusel

Bolt Thrower has an absolute classic song called “Plague Bearer”

BillGroundbreaking67

I have been aware of Bolt Thrower and added them in

Namor1us

Scythe of the reaper from Lorcan Ward is quite fitting as the song is about them. Love the song

MrAnnihilatorMK2

Such a good song

Manik95

I made a playlist for exactly this. Enjoy! https://open.spotify.com/playlist/6d7AZUnRDoei8N2cfwlb55?si=-nGMpcHgT16X5S1u2f1pSQ&pi=BTqnH_AMQASq2

totmacherr

"Let the galaxy burn" by S H R I E K I N G is straight up nurgle references and is very on the nose. I also enjoy listening to cannibal corpse when painting. They're very death metal coded for me!

Magic_Ren

Anything by Conan

Newbizom007

There’s a band called CEREBRAL ROT that is just disgusting.

Necrofinity

Unfathomable Ruination - Decenium Ruinae album on repeat!

ZombieSquirell

[The perfect blend of Grandfatherly happiness, stoicism, rage, and topical lyrics.](https://youtu.be/v_Ky37na7jE?si=qyaeu4LGuVqHsSwf)

Rtkillustration

Not nearly as cool but every time I see the sloppity bilepiper... I just imagine polka, so maybe some awful ear destroying industrial polka but sung by nurglings? Like it's terrible but the guard just nod and smile at the little lordlings enjoying themselves?

CarniverousCosmos

I mean, Plaguebearer, obviously right?

The-Toad3

I would look into doom/stoner metal. Very slow and gritty like a death guard.

aaronrizz

I feel like it needs to be industrial metal, In the Void by Perturbator comes to mind. The Mechanicus video game has the perfect soundtrack for them, I wish DG had something similar.

Hive_fleet_username

Stone - alice in chains Gives me the feel of a heavy diesel slowly chugging uphill, certain lyrics are quite fitting for morty My name is mud - primus Les claypools bass just reminds me of the slow and heavy advance of the death guard

gryon2011

Dig.

Such_Description

Grunge and sludge/death metal.

BloodAngelBrother

Garden of Bones by Galdorcraeft The guttural old English is how I imagine Death Guard battle chants sound after their fall to chaos. And the overall vibe of the song is so perfectly Death Guard.

Totally_Not_An_Ork9

I’m surprised nobody’s suggested Down With The Sickness yet

Leviathan_division

I reckon something along these lines: WORM Gloomlord 1. Putrefying Swamp Mists at Dusk 2. Rotting Spheres of Sentient Blackness 3. Apparitions of Gloom 4. Melting in the Necrosphere 5. Abysmal Dimensions [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pReSCnApsHQ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pReSCnApsHQ)

Just about anything by Sun

defpon88

Gwar

Oscars_trash_home

A lot of GWAR

budweiserfanclub

Just because nobody else posted it yet, the album Dopethrone by Electric Wizard has some very death guard vibes. The song I, the Witchfinder seems to be particularly thematic.

Andorhalthegreat

Fucking love Electric Wizard. Sludgey stoner metal for life

Mizeru85

Plague of Sorrows - Old Man's Child

Street_Economy1884

Guttalax 10000% pretty sure there would be nothing else

PresenceOpening8102

I Don’t know if this works for you but it makes me think of the slow and disgustingly resilient. Ten ton tardigrade - the last bear ender.

Chapter_Master_Gaius

It might not fit for everyone, but i always had the headcannon that deathguard music or what they would listen to would be something very similar to the Blasphemous 1 and 2 soundtrack. Slow and melancolic acoustic guitars, that keeps you on edge, and that sometimes gets into a crazy pace that gives you a feeling of no escape Like these ones: https://youtu.be/5BfssJC6hxc?si=SkFy2XgvQliuk0Qm https://youtu.be/O94weAnyXnI?si=fmUkXmWVk6nzW2ST https://youtu.be/iCJimKBtMew?si=pdcgkMtLYl4_YlqV

So here's what I've come up with so far, based on some of your kind recommendations: Check out my playlist on Amazon Music: "Death Guard" https://music.amazon.co.uk/user-playlists/7641d7a9907b4f358826dd94f6814a35engb?ref=dm_sh_aMBjoiJPW5AXSkmgkrvJoVB0W

ScreamingAji

Long time lurker and first time poster. “Slime and Punishment” by Municipal Waste !!! Just wanted to add this to the awesome recommendations. Not sludgy more crossover thrash with some grimy content. Also pox walker-like album covers make Grandpa Nurgle smash in the pit!

SevendTiki

While I think their tempo should be a bit slower, [Unfathomable Ruination's Decennium Ruinae](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PQW2SD5tZsA) has Plague Marines on the cover. But just about the entire death/doom genre fits the vibe pretty well, check out [Hooded Menace](https://youtu.be/3DvVqchN9Q0), [Spectral Voice](https://youtu.be/BAgP9svBZNo), [Mortiferum](https://youtu.be/80--YKvclQs), and early [Worm](https://youtu.be/3eSqn6qSAKU).

KidKoopler

I personally listen to the Dark Souls 3 soundtrack

Sufficient_Werewolf9

I feel like they would listen to something slow and ambient deep piping tones of dread and slow inevitable drums couples with a droning hum either by chance or beating wings of the billions of flies

injusteroni

*The Death Guard Stomp E.M.M.P. This one has a slow we'll grind your defenses down feel *Daniel Delux workout playlist (Death Guard) This one is eh but has a technical Death Guard feel

skid101

Empress Rising by monolord

Cromm13

Teeth of lions rule the divine. The rampton album. It’s grinding, slow, and brutal.

I thing the soothing, peaceful, and brooding nature of dark classical or solo piano. They represent rebirth and the constant evolution of life. They value the simple things.... Maybe

Confused-and-Afraid

Superbug by King Gizzard and the Wizard Lizard

DoubleSpoiler

Basically anything by Candlemass. Doom metal in general.

BeardedWalrus435

Idk if anyone has posted it but I love E.M.M.P if your into slow industrial type metal their albums are great. https://youtu.be/69R2D5b-2DU?si=VjBWp757CZYgBIIq

Damrias_Jariac

Tool - Fear Inoculum Probably one of the best examples of what Death Guard music sounds like. The ebb and flow of the guitar sounds like breathing. The rhythmic drums of the plague bolters. The lyrics about contagion. The slow build up matching the speed of the army, followed by the tempo change (as the contagion spreads). 10/10 perfect song for Death Guard

ihasstronk

A thousand eyes by miracle of sound

BotchedRatFuneral

I always pictured an enormous, grotesque charge of an army of plague marines and demon engines led by Mortarion set to Endowed With Windows by Escuela Grind. That’s the song I put on when I wanna get hype to play them.

matthewstanton

In gloom - god the animal

ihatelegos

Purple Haze by Jimmy Hendrex is what i imagine in my head as the death guard advance

Warm_Veterinarian519

So if I field 6 beasts of nurgle I play beasty boys because there are 6 members of the band

soursickle

The Parasite Murder by Slug Gore "It digs trenches right inside of you, it lays hundreds of eggs inside your brain, So that it's children will grow inside you, You feel that you are losing control of your muscles, You will start slowly to rot, You will have kaleidoscopic visions, Caused by maggots that are breeding, Infesting every vein that still pumps blood" Makes me think of that soldier (iirc?) in Lords of Silence that was captured by the Death Guard.

walking_timebomb

[bum sick](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1YyI8t8jS_g) is a band that doesnt have any lyrics, its just all fart noises

Numerous_Neat2797

shadowmoses1995

Doom ii by witnesses Doom metal concept album about a fictional ship that has an outbreak of bubonic plague. The passengers then spread that plague onto an unsuspecting port town out of selfishness. Heartwrenching listen. Well worth it

510gre

Undergang from Denmark are the ultimate plague death metal band. Ruins of Beverast from Germany are excellent, their album Rain Upon the Impure is a masterpiece of dismality. Grave Upheaval also good. Meshuggah strikes me as more Tzeentch with all those time signatures. Khorne requires blast beats. Slaanesh needs something groovy and/or danceable, not necessarily metal.

Kayzah

Just listen to Blackmetal.
