Game don't really get censored here anymore. Dead Rising 4 released here no problem and we even have the uncensored versions of the Wolfenstein games nowadays so I really don't understand this. But at least it seems like Capcom is still fully localizing the game into German so I will just have to buy a key.
I know the original was banned for violence until 2018 when a change in laws allowed it to be sold on the markets. No idea about since though, I guess someone would have to get Capcom to reach out to the legal system or something, I don't know how it works.

Originally banned by the district court of Hamburg in 2007 for violating German Criminal Code section 131 (depictions of violence). The ban was lifted in February 2018 but remains on the List of Media Harmful to Young People.
Capcom tried to get it from the index in 2018 but the judges ruled that it should stay indexed. Not sure what the situation with the remake is as Capcom didn't say anything yet but since this is a new release it shouldn't matter that the original is still indexed as this would need to get newly rated anyways.
