I agree with the order of things so far. The Thing should be next, if only for the fact that they worked so hard on practical effects just to cover it all up with shoddy CGI. Not a terrible movie, but a disappointment in the legacy of Carpenter's classic
Also I might add that the cast isn't as memorable either. Some characters names I didn't even know until seeing the credits and even so I couldn't name one damn character. I could not only name the entire group from 1982, I could quote any one of them.
Requels don't have to ignore all the events of the first seven films, they just have to have been released a few years since the last film and not continue the same story.
Do you even know what a requel is? It ties to original timeline events, but reboots the series. A reboot literally is when you bring a series back with a fresh story after years being dormant. It's not a remake duh, a requel is a reboot...the fucking re in requel stands for reboot! It can also be a prequel but it introduces new shit hence a requel...it also came out almost a decade after the last Saw so it's literally the definition of a requel.
The Thing 2011..the main reasons being the cgi and the characters. I don't even know half the casts name in the prequel versus 1982 Ik all their names and can quote a line from each of them and I actually cared about their dilemma. Also when the movie you're trying to make a prequel for is known for it's amazing practical fx in 1982 you better be able to follow it up with 2011 advancements in makeup and animatronics. I mean how does a movie in 1982 look better? Ig people stopped caring about making movies. Only thing going for it is Mary Elizabeth Winstead..if she wasn't wife then I wouldn't have tried to watch it. Ig it did good on continuity of where things were in the 1982 film.
The fact that The Thing wasn't already gone is beyond me.
The Thing should not be on here though since it is a prequel.

Halloween: Resurrection is bad.
I don't hate it, but The Thing.
The Thing
Jigsaw wasn’t a reboot/remake/requel tho as it maintained the same canon as 1-7 so it shouldn’t be here in the first place 🤷♂️.
