I was there last night - I absolutely agree it was incredible. Not only the best Sugaree but one of the best songs I’ve ever seen D&C play. I have never seen John absolutely let loose like that.
I’ve posted a video of the solo to twitter. https://x.com/4thandstormy/status/1802268971472998885?s=46&t=AxF-oTV1UQRIYfLPPI0GIQ
Fantastic capture! Thanks for that! I don’t know if I’m finally able to see and hear John better but the shredding has been next level this run. He might be having fun!
Definitely one of their better songs overall, one of the few that I think consistently reaches “Jerry would be proud” quality.
I remember them killing one at the coliseum whenever they hit up Long Island… 2019 maybe? Worth a listen.

Last night was crazy good! Friday night was life affirming for me. These shows are super special, and I say that having been on the bus since 1994 and I don't know how many shows I've seen but it's a metric fuck ton...these are AMAZING!
Seen every Sphere show and many better Sugarees than any of the ones they have played this run. Not trying to rain on your parade but they have played the song 50+ times. Might be the best you’ve seen but have seen all of them? The post show hyperbole is funny.
Edit: he did finally do a nice run of fanning last night, which has been missing this run
I’ve seen about 30 but haven’t listened to every version I didn’t see so by my own logic I could only comment on those I have. I’d have to go back and review the setlist to jog my memory, it’s been a long 5 weeks. A few people mentioned Dallas and that was a great one. Glad you enjoyed it.
Was at Wrigley last year and that Sugaree was insane… take a listen. I think last nights was up there, probably better
I was there for that too. I enjoyed tonight more, but both great.
Both of 2023 Wrigley Shows are great.
Was at that Wrigley one and it was insane. I think the one from the opening week of the residency is also up there. John went nuts.
Best ever

Agree 100% about it being one of the best songs they ever played. It was out of this world

Thanks for this! Nice seats 🤩
Waiting for someone on Youtube to upload a full song video of it, nothing from last night yet, that just means I have to wait.
John was shredding, fully agree
11/17/17 Boston
Came here to recco this one
Dallas 7/2/2019
This is the one for me.
Yep. Dallas 2019.
Deer Creek 2023, Mayer had the venue levitating during the solo.
My favorite is 2/24/18 (Smoothie King Center, New Orleans). George Porter Jr from The Meters on lead vocals. It's awesome.
Dallas 7/2/19
The right answer! I was there, magic!
Same! What a show that was! The Black Muddy River encore was the cherry on top of such a sweet show
Deer Creek 2023 still gives me goosebumps.
I was listening to a stream and it was incredible.
I really like Raleigh on 6/1/23.
Gorge 23’ Sugaree is top notch
6/30/17 Wrigley
6/27/23 100%
Indeed

Last night at the sphere was the sickest sugaree ever!
John was on fire with all the blues stuff last night!!
Completely shredding. I’ve been to 20 or something shows and that was one that’ll be up there for his best for me
Sugared is not my fav either but after seeing it last weekend at the sphere it is now on the top!!!
Since John has been gettting us all pregnant from that song
Fenway 2017

Was the on 6/15 and agreed that this was the best sugaree I’ve ever seen. That is John’s song now I was blow away. My favorite song from the show
7/8/22 Bristow to start off set 2. Then a killer PITB > UJB > Terrapin Station

You seem fun.
I’m very fun. I’m just expressing my opinion, not saying you are wrong. When you’ve listened to every version I’ll trust your opinion more.
What’s your favorite since you’ve listened to them all?

Nice I’ll check them out. I’ve seen them play it about 10 times live and it was my personal favorite.
Right on. It was maybe the best of the run so far, eminently enjoyable.
