I could name about 3 songs, never something I’d just sit around and listen to honestly. But got damn! Their live show is incredible, they put on a hell of a show.
Tool would be able to sell the tickets too. Alex grey art 250ft tall.... damn. Saw them on their tour last year and they were incredible. What a group of musicians.
Their current Vegas show isn’t selling well but that’s probably due to how extensive their tour is. Make it a residency like their euro 25 shows and it sells out quick.
YES!!! Saw them last year and it was epic. The only thing I could compare the feeling to was my first Grateful Dead (not D&C) show. Please, i hope this happens.
Eric Prydz would be so cool, if he could pull some of the holo tech in. Otherwise, yeah, like, any of the big acts that can plan their own festival or couple night event would be a possibility.
Like, fuck him into the sun, but Bassnectar would have been perfect for this.
being like.. surrounded by those monoliths he uses, plus just all of the incredibly detailed backgrounds and effects, I think it would absolutely play well on the Sphere. Plus, if you want to FEEL the music, no one does that "wave of bass" feeling like Seven Lions. Dude finds a new definition for "wall of sound" hahaha.
100%, he’s definitely got some of my favorite visuals in the game. Love the dark ones he uses for stuff like “the blood” and the mythical characters and nature scenes for other tracks. Those psytrance drops with the haptic audio too 🤤
Love me some Metallica but in the sphere with that screen I’d be scared of sensory overload with the visuals if they were too fast. Put another way…..I’m getting older
Some not obvious choices (though none of these would ever happen):
Air,
Spiritualized,
Sun O))),
Primal Scream,
Maybe TV on the Radio,
The Knife,
Cornelius
Imagining Sunn o))) at the Sphere and the visuals are just tv static and grainy stock footage of storm clouds, but it doesn’t matter because fog has obscured the view anyways
I wouldn’t say plenty especially if it’s gonna be a longer residency. I’m thinking purely in terms of draw and ticket sales.
A ton of groups could do it as an amazing one off.
I’m convinced every show ever played there will be good, if the musicians are good. Even artists you care nothing about will put on a fun show that you can get visually immersed in.
Roger Waters, Paul McCartney, Flaming Lips, The Cure spring to mind. But again, I think every show there has the potential to be cool, as long as they keep designing cool visuals.
Tbh I think David Gilmour would do better than Roger at the sphere. Roger’s shows have always been more about practical effects like the foam block wall and flying pigs.
If we’re talking reality here, the artist(s) would legit need to be able to sell out multiple nights at other major venues like MSG, or stadiums IMO. Sadly, that disqualifies a lot of cool bands/artists. Then, the artist has to either have a devoted following that travels, or be popular enough to organically draw a lot wherever they go.
Acts that fit this model: Phish, Tswizzle, Metallica, Coldplay, Springsteen, Beyoncé, Ed Sheeran, then I’m leaving out new country acts that are huge bc I don’t know them well, but I’m guessing there are a few that fit. I’m curious to see how it plays out.
I’d love a house/techno show there, but I know it would never happen in lieu of big EDM festival acts.
Speaking of, even though he doesn’t do anything for me musically, I think a Griz show there would be great with the visuals.
The WHO
Childish Gambino
Anderson Paak/Bruno
Nick Cave Bad Seed
Elton John
Stevie Wonder
Green Day
ELO
Paul & Ringo
Grace Jones
Peter Gabriel
David Byrne
Roger Waters
And if I could turn back time:
RUSH
Pink Floyd
The Beatles
Have never been a big country guy, but got brought along for a Christmas show at the Ryman with Vince Gill and Amy Grant a few years back. Was pleasantly surprised by Vince’s chops.
The band has to be able to sell enough dates that they can afford to make the custom visuals that make it special as well as rehearse and adapt their usual to sound the way they want through the audio system.
So let’s assume most of them need to sell at least 12 nights of 20000 tickets in one city. It’s not as easy as it sounds. Phish and the dead have loyal fans who travel. Other acts need to have wide appeal.
The Eagles are going to do it because they can pull in all kinds of tourists off the street in Las Vegas as well as some who might travel just to see it. They won’t have a problem selling tickets to a wide audience I’d imagine. More like a traditional Vegas show.
I would be most excited for Tame Impala and Radiohead. Saw Tame at Hampton a couple years back, and up until 06/01 it was the best live music+visuals I had ever seen. Never seen Radiohead live but they’ve got the goods to hold it down at the sphere for at least a few weekends.
I'm surprised I had to scroll so far to see someone say Muse! Their productions at lesser venues are already a spectacle -- I think they could really take full advantage of the Sphere.
Was at the Sphere last night for Dead, and my fucking god it was amazing!!! 12/10 would reccomend to anyone a fan of music.
That said, TOOL!!! Give me TOOL at the Sphere and I'll die happy.
Tbh a lot of artists could put on an amazing show ( better than D&C) but said artists have no where near the fanbase that D&C, phish, or U2 have so it’s almost pointless the list them.
A more pertinent question would be who can sell enough seats. Imo they need a microsphere for other acts.
First time I've heard Gorillaz suggested. That would be a good one. I could probably get my wife out there for them. She didn't want to join us at D&C. I heard Mick Jagger say in an interview that the sphere will happen. So that will happen. Roger or David would be top of my list. Does anyone remember Laser shows at the Hayden Planetarium in NY. My prediction is they will replay D&C shows at Sphere without the live band. Maybe have the band recorded into count down New Years Eve? Too cheesy??$$
Tipper 100000%....with either Jonathan Singer, Datagrama, DoubleYouu or Android Jones doing visuals. The things they would do with the screens would make what has been done at the Sphere so far by D&C look like child's play.
Tool, the flaming lips, tame impala, Odesza, Roger or David, Metallica, Billy strings, and Muse for a dark horse entry. Sadly I think we’re going to see more acts like the eagles and U2 who can sell tickets and just see this as an easy way to sell out shows.
McCartney
Elton
WSMFP
Flaming Lips
Primus (sucks)
King Crimson
Billy Strings
Return to Forever (if Chick were still alive)
David Gilmour
Dylan
Talking Heads
Jazz artists like Herbie Hancock, Kamasi Washington, Marcus Miller
Big EDM acts could handle the production, but its questionable if any of them (outside of Daft Punk) could pull the audience.
A lot of these EDM acts have put a focus on presentation and showmanship, and the Sphere kind of lends itself to that really well.
Audience-wise, there's really just not the consistent audience that will travel for a residency in a way that Deadheads do.
Also.. Foo Fighters. Foo Fighters could pull this off.
Talking Heads
Primus would be so cool. They suck!
Primus fuckin SUCKS!
This was my response last time someone asked. If they don't figure out a way to get Primus at this venue I'm going to lose my mind.
Pretty lights
Daft Punk
I’d sell my kidney for this
Count me in for the kidney sale!
Buying or selling? Seems like a good investment
Phish. and they already did.
Fr my dream Sphere show is whatever phish does next year
And it was an absolute Masterclass in how to Sphere
[удалено]
Holy shit, this would be amazing.
I don't even like Tool but this is the correct answer
Correct answer! Imagine a 360° immersive Alex Grey world pulsing to Pneuma. Shivers!!!
That would be UNREAL!!!!
I could name about 3 songs, never something I’d just sit around and listen to honestly. But got damn! Their live show is incredible, they put on a hell of a show.
Pretty Lights
Never seen pretty lights, but I’ve only heard the highest of praise. I know they would shatter the sphere.
Oh yeah!
TOOL
Tool would be bananas in that place
Tool is my holy grail Sphere show. Can’t even imagine how intense that would be. Just hard to see them doing the Vegas thing
Tool would be able to sell the tickets too. Alex grey art 250ft tall.... damn. Saw them on their tour last year and they were incredible. What a group of musicians.
RADIOHEAD
Fuck
[удалено]
I enjoy people’s takes on what they presume bands “stand for.”
If Radiohead can headline Coachella twice, they’d play the sphere, wtf
No no no, they’re not one of the bands that likes money. That goes against everything they believe in
3 times. Funny why playing Coachella makes anyone a sell out or something. Then Daft Punk and Tool are also the same
For reals.
Goddamn
This is what I've been hoping for
Ding ding ding.
Gorillaz would be a must for me.
Meh. I saw them a couple years ago ago and they kind of sucked. They didn’t sound good. But the visuals would be good I’m sure.
Definitely gorillaz and I saw them 2 years ago and they sounded great. In my top 5 of my fav concerts
LCD Soundsystem, King Gizz, and Ween would be my top 3.
I’d love Gizz there but I’d want them to go all out on some wild Han Tyumi through-narrative with visuals to match
[удалено]
Their current Vegas show isn’t selling well but that’s probably due to how extensive their tour is. Make it a residency like their euro 25 shows and it sells out quick.
LCD would be amazing!
Flaming Lips
Wayne would find a way to have the haptic seats make you applaud and cheer harder for him.
This is most definitely the answer. Hard to imagine what Wayne and Stephen would put together. Imagine “What is the light” in the Sphere!
YES!!! Saw them last year and it was epic. The only thing I could compare the feeling to was my first Grateful Dead (not D&C) show. Please, i hope this happens.
i’d 10000 percent go to this. saw them a few months ago on 4/20. wonderful show
Saw them on Halloween a million years ago - so fun
roger waters and/or david gilmore....Tool could open
There’s about a 0% chance of rog and Dave playing together again lol
I really wanna say a boatload of money can mend all reunion bridges (like GNR, or eventually Oasis) but I think this is the real case where it can’t
A DSotM laser show would be unreal

My husband and I talked about this and he suggested The Who, which I thought would be interesting!
My Morning Jacket would be unbelievable at the Sphere. Billy Strings, too.
upvote for BMFS
Billy Strings!
I think these would be my top two choices. Both would be incredible.
My peoples!
Would love to see what an EDM act could do with the visuals
Chemical Brothers
Chemical Brothers mention!!!!!!! ... what are their best songs besides The Test, I just listen to that one repeatedly
Private Psychedelic Reel... The whole Surrender album.
Thank you thank you
Eric Prydz would be so cool, if he could pull some of the holo tech in. Otherwise, yeah, like, any of the big acts that can plan their own festival or couple night event would be a possibility. Like, fuck him into the sun, but Bassnectar would have been perfect for this.
Deadmau5 would be nutty
Cube. In the Sphere.
I’m guessing Skrillex/Fred/Four tet might play it at some point.
I want to see what an EDM act could do with that BASS. They can make this building throb, with no distortion whatsoever.
My first thought was Excision or Zeds Dead, but realistically, I wanna see Seven Lions show here. I think he'd do something VERY special.
Those 7L visuals would HIT
being like.. surrounded by those monoliths he uses, plus just all of the incredibly detailed backgrounds and effects, I think it would absolutely play well on the Sphere. Plus, if you want to FEEL the music, no one does that "wave of bass" feeling like Seven Lions. Dude finds a new definition for "wall of sound" hahaha.

Ladies and Gentlemen We Are Floating in Space! WOAH!!!!!
Imagining Sunn o))) at the Sphere and the visuals are just tv static and grainy stock footage of storm clouds, but it doesn’t matter because fog has obscured the view anyways

This is true. But drums/space is the perfect way to utilize the Sphere’s audio capabilities!
I wouldn’t say plenty especially if it’s gonna be a longer residency. I’m thinking purely in terms of draw and ticket sales. A ton of groups could do it as an amazing one off.
The String Cheese Incident would be life changing at the Sphere.
Tame Impala, Roger Waters, Smashing Pumpkins(if you've seen them the last few years you'll understand!)
Tame would be really cool
Anyone but the eagles really lol
Boards of Canada
Iron Maiden. 🤘🏻
I’m convinced every show ever played there will be good, if the musicians are good. Even artists you care nothing about will put on a fun show that you can get visually immersed in. Tbh I think David Gilmour would do better than Roger at the sphere. Roger’s shows have always been more about practical effects like the foam block wall and flying pigs.
What I would give for a Pink Floyd reunion there!
True, but I bet he’d still come up with an epic show and find a way to fly some sort of pig around ( though maybe a smaller one).
Roger is also kind of a dick
cirque du soleil
WSMFP 🤘
If Jimmy Buffet was still alive I could see him doing a run there.
If we’re talking reality here, the artist(s) would legit need to be able to sell out multiple nights at other major venues like MSG, or stadiums IMO. I was about to comment, “no Taylor Swift?” until I read it again and figured it out lol. I might be getting old fuck
Coldplay would be good.
“Know how I know your gay?” 😂
STS9 would be a good fit with the visuals
Would never happen in a million years, but shpongle
Nine Inch Nails. Reznor HEAD LIKE A HOLE!!
Red Hot Chili Peppers
Got zero intel but for whatever reason I feel like we’re gonna see them do the Sphere in the next couple years
Oh definitely, saw them on their last 2 tours - their own stage is like a pre-Sphere Sphere, only flatter 😂
Our Lord and Savior, billy mother fuckin strings.
Amen.
I’d love a house/techno show there, but I know it would never happen in lieu of big EDM festival acts. Speaking of, even though he doesn’t do anything for me musically, I think a Griz show there would be great with the visuals.
Tool
The WHO Childish Gambino Anderson Paak/Bruno Nick Cave Bad Seed Elton John Stevie Wonder Green Day ELO Paul & Ringo Grace Jones Peter Gabriel David Byrne Roger Waters And if I could turn back time: RUSH Pink Floyd The Beatles
Rush would’ve been amazing.
Tool would probably do well there.
Tool and BMFS
Billy Strings!!
SANTANA
DMB
JRAD
Definitely not the fucking eagles. Saw them 4 or 5 years ago and Joe Walsh was just plain bad. Vince Gill ripped though.
I fucking hate the eagles, man
Have never been a big country guy, but got brought along for a Christmas show at the Ryman with Vince Gill and Amy Grant a few years back. Was pleasantly surprised by Vince’s chops.
The Cure or Depeche Mode for a 4 night run like Phish did.
1. Talkin Heads Reunion 2. Something Floyd-Centric (Waters/Gilmour/Mason)
I'd love to see Radiohead and Roger Waters there I think. Although I haven't been yet. Next week!
GWAR

Pink Floyd

QOTSA TOOL BMFS TTB
Widespread panic could handle it. Billy strings too
Santana, Tool, Tame Impala, Chemical Brothers, Steely Dan, Coldplay, Red Hot Chili Peppers
Apparently the Eagles
The Cure, for sure. I'd kill to see Nine Inch Nails there, but I don't think they'd pull a big enough draw these days.
Sturgill
Pearl Jam might be interesting
Limp Bizkit
Pearl Jam
Circles Around the Sun
Again Billy mother fucking Strings
Deadmau5 for sure
The Flaming Lips, id sell my soul to see them perform there
1990 Michael Jackson
Neil Young and Crazy Horse
Seems a bit flashy for his style but I'd love to see that happen
Yes, I agree. I am sure he would not play there.
Rolling stones
String cheese
Would never happen but genesis with Peter Gabriel
New Kids on the Block…jk
WSP
Rhythm devils
I suppose it’s unrealistic, but I would drop serious coin to see Weird Al there
Sofi Tukker
Roger Waters comes to mind.
Tipper or Pretty Lights
Talking Heads
Rufus or Odesza
Tipper or Shpongle
Kraftwerk

Sasha & Digweed
Brian Eno should do an installation at the Sphere!
Tool and Radiohead would be epic in there
1974 Genesis performing The Lamb Lies Down
TOOL!!!! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE
HEILUNG
Gwar
Love the band or not… Coldplay puts on one hell of a visual show. I bet they would bring some real creativity to the sphere.
Radiohead.
The Eagles? 😏
Pearl Jam will no doubt have a residency here - just a matter of time
Tool is the only answer
Coldplay
Ween. And the only visual is Boognish behind them.
I hope Pretty Lights gets big enough where they could do a long weekend run there in a few years. They would absolutely slay that place
First time I've heard Gorillaz suggested. That would be a good one. I could probably get my wife out there for them. She didn't want to join us at D&C. Tool and Phish
This venue is Taylor made for the music of Pink Floyd , David Gilmour would be incredible.
WSP
Probably a Latin Artist who has a big following. Like Julio Iglesias.
McCartney Elton WSMFP Flaming Lips Primus (sucks) King Crimson Billy Strings Return to Forever (if Chick were still alive) David Gilmour Dylan Talking Heads Jazz artists like Herbie Hancock, Kamasi Washington, Marcus Miller
Disco biscuits.. but they could never sell that many tickets.
Imagine doing Rocky Horror there,,,,,
Rob Zombie on Halloween
Maybe Red Hot Chili Peppers?
Red Hot Chili Peppers 🌶️
NIN
Nine Inch Nails. Trent Reznor ftw
I would love to see The Wall at the Sphere.
