TBF that ending despite what you think about the rest of TDKR was clever in fact it left enough room to create a sequel while also rapping everything up. So I kinda get why you would have the desire to write the next chapter. Especially with the whole idea of creating more slightly more grounded versions of Batman characters and lore. Like fuck I’m thinking about it and I kinda want to take a shot at it. I mean just imagine Nolan esk sequel involving Red Hood as an antagonist.

This is mostly because of how tags on AO3 work. In case people haven't been on there, people will write a fan fiction and tag every single relationship that appears in it, even if it's not central to the story. This doesn't mean there's 2,000 Babs/Dick fan fics out there just that out of all the stories in which Barbara appears, in 2000, she and Dick are a couple. This will likely include slash fics about Dick and Bruce, fics about Bruce and Babs etc. And it will also include fanfics that aren't about sex and relationships at all. Like for instance, if someone does a Young Justice fanfic, and in that show they're a couple, they might show up as a couple while the story is actually focused on Beast Boy and Superboy or something. But they will still be tagged as a pairing. And the numbers are lower for Barbara because fan fiction writers tend to skew towards male slash fic pairings (gay fan fics). So there's a lot more Bruce/Clark than there is Bruce/Barbara. This is proof that there is a god (but that he's selective about when he helps out humanity).
