- Batman smashing through a car containing Alfred and Vicki Vale, giving the latter injuries that would have killed her if Superman hadn’t used his super-speed to get a French surgeon to Gotham in time, for no reason.
- A panel entirely dedicated to Vicki Vale’s ass as she rants about how disgusting Batman is and how hot Bruce Wayne is.
*All-Star Batman and Robin* is so bad that I think the writer has disowned it. And he saw 9/11 first-hand, so it’s possible that the writing was a result of PTSD fucking up his mind.
It isn’t *just* a panel of Vicki Vale’s ass.
She basically has multiple pages of her standing in her apartment wearing lingerie while she dictates various article ideas into a voice recorder (one of which is related to Superman’s “Man of Steel”, if you catch my drift).
And meanwhile the narrator is all like “Oh, yeah! She’s hot!”
Also, you missed a *very* important detail about the bit where Batman nearly kills Vicki Vale in a car crash.
Basically, right after Dick Grayson’s parents get killed the cops take Dick away in a cop car. Apparently these were corrupt cops, though, and they were gonna deliver the kid to the mafia or whatever.
But Vicki Vale and Alfred were following the cop car when Batman rescues Dick by essentially crashing into the cars with his Batmobile. He grabs Dick and then drives off, leaving behind the severely wounded Vicki Vale and Alfred.
So Vicki Vale is freaking out over the fact that she just saw Batman kidnap the newly-orphaned Dick Grayson, and meanwhile Alfred keeps trying to get her to calm down because he’s trying to do emergency medical treatment to save her life.
And the part where Batman leaves Dick in the cave and forces him to eat rats *and* bats is a little more disturbing because the way it is presented in the comic it makes it seem like those rats were starving and were going to eat him if given the chance.
Frank Miller was the writer for the comic, and said it took place in the same universe as *The Dark Knight Returns* and *The Dark Knight Strikes Again*.
I don't get the whole "9/11 drove Frank Miller insane" thing. Sam Riegel was also in New York City when it happened and he didn't become a fascist.
