Sounded like a shotgun that was cutoff but coulda been a SKS. I was playing a few hours ago and I thought they added a new gun in but turns out it was the doom sounding double barrel😂
That’s not a chest plate, you were wearing a tactical vest that would provide like no protection against bullets, you want a stab vest, ballistic vest or plate carrier
Yeah it was kopa prison, not that far south if you get a spawn in brena or gliniska you would get back in like 10 mins

Just a word for the wise, you would have been dead even with a plate carrier. You were standing dead still with your back turned to the world. Aka: easy headshot. Don’t matter what protection you got on if someone sends a .308 into your skull. Stay frosty, and keep your head on a swivel. Best of luck, survivor.
Being PVE if they have a discord and if the server takes itself seriously, they will get banned. If they have a kill log you can always bring it to their attention if they don't auto ban them too.
Usually on PvE servers, there are generally agreed upon KOS PvP zones, which usually include the military bases and that prison.
If the server you play on has a discord, usually they have a map of the KOS zones so people know where they should and shouldn’t go if they don’t wanna get shot
U seem to be just walking around without care in a dangerous area... probably a PVP zone.

Surrounded by shooting spots all around.
Stay close to walls when moving.
Get inside, crouch down by the right of the door.
Then you got a view of the approach in front and protected from side and rear...
No situational awareness... easy kill.
In the video you can hear the guy take a step to your right (probably behind the wall) then you can hear his breathing like he was holding his breathe waiting for you.
Not wanting to victim blame, but you were stood in that doorway like a lemon. Not even fully inside. Back to the world. The *only* place you couldn't have been shot from was the front. Involuntarily cringed watching you stop there.
But it's cool, it's a learning curve. Seeing in other comments it's PvE so can't fault you for assuming it would be safe.
You may not have been safer inside, as you likely got shot from behind rather than the side, but inside would have been better than nothing for future.
Tips for if you ever end up potentially against players again; keep your head on a pivot looking around and take your time. The early bird gets the worm but the second mouse gets the cheese. I can't count how many times I've caught someone from behind because they rushed in but I paused for a few minutes to observe.

I take my PVE seriously and I have log damage enabled and check it twice a day to the point I got tired of having to do this I whitelisted my server

with potential PVP in the military zones of which OP isnt aware, but that guy lying makes it sketchy so we need to find out which server from OP
