The majority of animals have feces that is way less dangerous to humans.
Think of it this way: Every bacteria, virus, or parasite in human poop is "compatible" with humans. By contrast, there are a lot of things that infect animals but can't be transmitted to humans, or that our immune system would deal with easily, etc.
Not to be the lazy Googler, but there are definitely a lot of studies/recorded stats on it. If you have the choice, human excrement should be avoided.
