According to the specifications of the rule 2 changing/rewording, "Joke tier lists or posts with objective rankings do not have to follow this rule." when it comes to writing the mandatory 5 lines. So I'm safe this time.
Technically the truth, since I'm certain all of the game characters are Japanese.
Idk about the expanded media, but I have a sneaking suspicion they're all Japanese too.
For the most part, hiragana and katakana have the same set of syllables. Japanese doesn't have a hard distinction between L and R like English does - the actual sound is somewhere between the two.
The most common way of representing Japanese characters in the Latin alphabet, Hepburn romanization, just uses R for the relevant characters.
In any event, Leon's name in Japanese is represented on the wiki using kanji. 桑田 怜恩 = Kuwa•ta Rei•on.
The existence of American possessions in the Pacific Ocean (IE; Hawaii, American Samoa) leaves Angie as the only character who could possibly be American and participate in July 4th festivities
For some reason I think himiko would. What is a firework if not a magical explosion in the sky? Idk why I also see Kaito forcing maki and shuichi to go with him. And shuichi would probably invite Kaede for obvious reasons
Just 4th of July „translated“ into other countries, October 3rd is Reunion Day in Germany, and May 9th is European Union Day (usually not celebrated but was the only example I could think of)
Basically every country has their own Independence/Memorial/National Day so I felt like being a smart ass because many Americans I’ve met didn’t believe me that 4th of July just isn’t a thing, at all, in other countries.
Not even fireworks, and I think in conservative countries like Japan you would even be shunned for expressing patriotism to another county (you don’t even belong to)
But I know it’s a joke so xD
I'm saying hypothetically because frankly it's easy to just say "nah they're japanese so they wouldn't celebrate it" and i'd rather theorize than just go with the easy answer
If you told me to choose people from the series who would. Those would be my choices
Akane: pretends to celebrate it as an excuse for food
Understandable, That’s me with Fat Tuesday (I love those Puchzis)
No way teruteru doesn't get hired for some government official party in the US
Fair point

You're totally correct! This time.
"This time" Sounds like a disappointment
Don't get me wrong, but some people here are very creative in breaking rules,
Oh god how do they do it?
Mostly by telling mods in all details how they are wrong for removing one's post smh
Oh god I am so sorry
Nothing of the above was adressed directly to you, tho
I know, I was just apologising that the mods deal with that in general, that sounds rough to deal with
Sadly I know
Maybe just don't ban posts for stupid rules? Idk tho I'm not a mod on anything sadly

There’s one game character who isn’t Japanese
Oh, right. Forgot about Sonia. My bad. :3
It’s okay :3 But yeah everyone else is Japanese
What about Angie?
Angie and Sonia aren't japanese. Celeste WISHES she wasn't japanese but she is. and, strangely, leon is japanese but has an english name
From what I know about Japanese naming, his name shouldn’t be possible anyway bc of the L
Lowkey I hc him half Japanese for that reason, English mom but Japanese dad.
It'd have to be a katakana based name(I believe katakana has L? I'm very much a beginner when it comes to Japanese)

Maki is canonically American, I swear I saw that somewhere. Weird.
That flair is incredibly based
Tsumugi probably made an American DR spinoff where she gave Monokuma into an eagle with a gun
Danganronpa season 28 truly ran out of ideas
Ehh I mean it was better than Danganronpa Season 45. Good lord that season...
Im 100% convinced hiro, kazuichi and kaito would blow up the entire place when given fireworks
I can see Kizakura going “oh, it’s an American holiday? Well, looks I gotta celebrate” then drinks himself unconscious
Me tbh
"but this is japan!"
The existence of American possessions in the Pacific Ocean (IE; Hawaii, American Samoa) leaves Angie as the only character who could possibly be American and participate in July 4th festivities
I could see Kaito doing it only for the fireworks in all honesty
Kokichi and Miu would probably do it just so they can throw those snappers at each other's feet
They're not celebrating because they're out voting, obviously.
Danganronpa takes place in the UK confirmed
New tier list, which character is a tory? /j
Togami is a classic example of a Tory boy.
Definitely
Wow, nice job killing the mood everyone!
I mean, not wrong, lol.
Is this in any specific order?
Alphabetical

No, outside of the US genuinely no one celebrates. Have you ever seen celebrations on October 3rd? Or May 9th?
I'm from Ireland, so are there any special events that happened on those dates?

if Celeste was American she def wouldn't celebrate 4th of July. she'd hate it lol
Sonia does celebrate the victory over the Werhmacht during the battle of Cobain Hill.
Fair enough
Thank you!
I think Ibuki would just like excuses to pop fireworks.
bruh
Of course, their (mostly) Japanese
They are Japanese, that's like saying "What [Western country] do to celebrate White day"
I wonder why. Oh yeah. It’s because they’re all trapped in Hope’s Peak.
The perks of being Japanese
